Oldsmar Council Member Katie Gannon supports the ‘I Love My Neighborhood’ Census Challenge because an accurate count helps Pinellas County receive its fair share of more than 675 Million Dollars per year in federal funding.
The 2020 Census is important because Census Data determines funding for programs that provide support for children with special needs and those from low-income families. These funds help schools reduce class sizes, hire specialists, continuously bolster teach quality, offer preschool, and ensure that hungry students can get breakfast or lunch to help them pay attention in class.
Make sure you’re counted for your neighborhood, Oldsmar, and Pinellas County. The 2020 Census can now be done online, via phone, or by completing your mailed survey. To learn more, visit https://www.census.gov.
