From YouTube: CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING 2020
Description
The City of Oldsmar virtual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony was held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. The program features Oldsmar Mayor Eric Seidel and Council Members, each introducing signer Katie Ducharme as she sings a few holiday tunes. In the continued tradition, Oldsmar Citizen of the Year, Sandie Grimes, officially lit the tree.
A
A
Now
we
have
a
small
group
with
us
here
tonight
who
are
assisting
us
and
putting
on
tonight's
event,
and
so
I've
asked
them
all
to
kind
of
help
with
the
cheer
is
to
serve
as
a
like
an
applause
unit,
since
we
can't
afford
an
applause
button,
and
so
I
want
to
thank
all
the
people
involved
who
put
this
on
tonight
and
our
staff,
who
always
worked
hard
to
continue
these
events
and
make
it
special.
So
let's
give
them
a
round
of
applause,
all
right,
I
think
they're
getting
warmed
up
and
and
ready
to
go.
A
It's
an
exciting
time,
as
all
you,
kids
at
home
know,
and
why
is
that?
Because
santa's
coming
to
town
so
make
sure
you're
all
being
good,
just
like
all
of
the
people
here
are
being
good.
We're
gonna
test
them
all
night,
but
we're
exciting
that
we're
in
the
holiday
spirit
and
we're
not
letting
covet
19
stop
that.
So,
let's
get
the
show
under
on
the
road
and
help
to
help
with
introductions.
Please
welcome
with
me
our
councilmember,
linda
norris,.
A
B
Thank
you,
mayor,
how's,
everybody.
I
hope
everybody's
doing
well.
Okay.
So
before
we
begin
I'd
like
to
recognize
a
few
others
who
are
joining
us,
we
have
our
vice
mayor,
katie,
gannon,
myself,
council
member
dan
saraki.
B
Also
joining
us
are
katie
ducharme,
who
will
add
some
holiday
spirit
by
singing
a
few
holiday
songs
and
our
citizen
of
the
year,
our
honorable
citizen
of
the
year,
which
will
be
revealed
later,
and
this
honorable
citizen
also
has
a
birthday
today
so
happy
birthday.
So
I'd
like
to
welcome
up
katie
ducharme
to
sing
thank.
C
D
Although
the
holidays
are
a
little
different
this
year,
there
are
still
many
festive
things
to
do
here
in
oldsmar
to
maintain
the
spirit
of
the
season
so
be
sure
to
join
us
for
these
upcoming
events,
including
christmas
wonderland,
which
will
be
a
drive-through
event
this
year
with
a
different
christmas,
themed
ceiling
and
lights
for
you
to
enjoy.
This
will
be

going
to
do
breakfast
with

at
r.e
olds
park.
D
This
will
be
catered
by,
chick-fil-a,
which
everybody
loves.
Remember.
Tickets
must
be
purchased
in
advance
for

with
santa
at
the
state
street
center
or
at
cypress
forest
rec
center.
Oh,
and
don't
forget,
to
bring
a
new
unwrapped
toy
to
help
us

toys
for
tots

and
under
also
on
saturday
december

be
sure
to
make
plans
to

us
for
the

christmas
parade.
D
This
parade
features,
golf
carts,
decorated
with
inflatables
lights
and
goodness
knows
what
else
always
exciting
and
be
sure
to
keep
your
eyes
open
for
santa
the
parade
starts
at
bicentennial
park
at
6
pm
and
travels
around
the
downtown
area.
Oh
and
finally,
kids
don't
forget
to
drop
off
your
letters
to
santa
his
big
red
mailbox
right
here
outside
of
city
hall,
we're
collecting
those
for
santa
now
through
friday
december
18th
and
be
sure
to
include
your
return
address.
So
sansa
can
write.
You
back.
There
sure
are
a
lot
of
holiday
activities
going
on
now.
C
C
C
A
Terrific
I'm
off
camera
tapping
my
toes
this
is
it's
a
lot
of
fun
and
you
know.
I
think
that
that
song
is
perfect
because
it's
a
little
chilly
out
tonight.
So
so
it's
very
fitting
great
job
katie
traditionally,
city
hall,
christmas
tree
is
officially
lit
by
our
citizen
of
the
year
and
this
year
we
are
proud
to
announce
and
recognize
no
one
other
than
miss
sandy
grimes.
As
our
citizen
of
the.
A
Year
now
sandy,
let
me
tell
you
a
little
bit
about
sandy
for
those
of
you
who
don't
know
her.
Sandy's
been
a
resident
of
oldsmar
for
over
20
years,
and
during
that
time
she
has
been
very
involved
in
the
oldsmar
community.
She
has
served
on
the
city
code
enforcement
board
for
the
past
17
years
is
the
past
chairman
of
the
board
and
current
board
member
of
the
upper
tampa
bay
chamber
of
commerce.
A
Is
the
past
chair
and
past
chairman
of
the
board
and
current
board
member
of
hca
memorial
tampa
community
hospitals
and
is
a
past
board
member
of
goals
for
a
cure
florida.
She
is
also
a
2009
graduate
of
leadership.
Pinellas
sandy
received
a
bachelor's
of
arts
degree
from
eckerd
college
and
I
think
she
actually
went
to
college
with
our
city
manager,
but
she
turned
out
just
fine.
A
Her
and
her
husband,
steve,
are
huge
fans
and
have
season
tickets,
and
now
I
I'm
gonna
end
with
just
a
little
story,
and
you
all
know
this,
but
this
has
been
a
challenging
year
for
everybody
and
no
different
for
your
city
council
and,
of
course,
when,
when
our
vice
mayor
at
the
time,
gabby
mcgee
got
a
promotion
and
left
town.
Unfortunately,
we
missed
her.
A
A
Great
looking
tree
looks
good
all
right.
Well,
let's
bring
katie
back
to
sing
again
for
us
come
on
katie.
Thank
you.
C
C
E
Very
nice,
what
a
great
rendition
of
a
christmas
classic
and
thank
you
sandy
for
helping
us
officially
light
our
christmas
tree
all
right.
We're
wrapping
things
up
our
event
and
glad
that
you
have
at
least
at
least
able
to
join
us
in
the
spirit
of
the
year
and
don't
forget
little
boys
and
girls
santa's
coming
to
town.
E
C
C
A
Thank
you
kenny,
and
that
concludes
our
ceremonies
from
all
of
us
here
at
city
hall,
your
city
council,
to
all
of
our
citizens
and
people
watching
who
are
not
from
oldsmar.
We
just
want
to
say,
happy
holidays,
everyone
keep
them
safe
and
god
bless
you
and
your
family.
Thank
you
for
being
here
good
night.
