Description
City of Palm Springs Library Board Meeting, held November 3rd, 2021
A
A
Acceptance,
thank
you
and
may
I
have
a
second
please
second,
so
I
have
a
a
move,
a
motion
from
trustee
borba
and
a
second
from
trustee
norgaard.
So
would
you
please
do
a
roll
call.
Please.
C
B
C
C
D
E
A
B
C
A
C
C
E
A
Moving
right
along
tonight,
our
next
side
of
his
number
five
are
administrative
reports.
Do
we
have
a
report
from
the
friends
we
can
give
a
report?
A
A
Okay,
so
let's,
let's
jump
down
to
mr
sidley,
the
president
of
the
palm
springs
public
library
foundation,
david
dieber
report
for
us
hi?
How
are
you
you're
unmute?
You
can't
hear
your
lovely
voice.
F
A
A
F
F
F
C
F
So
we're
very
excited
about
that.
We,
we
are
using
a
different
company,
we're
using
the
jones
agency,
which
is
part
of
palm
springs
life
magazine
that
produced
this
at
a
significantly
less
cost
than
last
year,
and
our
database
is
all
clean,
so
we're
hoping
we
don't
get
any
back
or
very
few
back,
and
those
of
you
who
don't
get
one
you're
certainly
welcome
to
go
to
our
website
and
make
a
donation
this
year
we're
happy
to
have
it.
F
We
are,
and
we
had
a
couple
meetings
with
the
friends
and
the
trustees,
as
you
know,
to
discuss
our
funding
priorities
and
everybody's
really
excited
and
all
fired
up.
So
that's
about
all.
I
have
right
now.
F
You
know
that's
a
great
question
and
I
don't
know
the
answer.
I
think
it's
10
000,
but
I'm
not
sure
I
know
that's
what
we
did
last
year,
but
I'm
not
sure
robin
will
probably
know
that
yeah,
but
I'm
sure
we'll
do
more.
We
got
that
kind
of
that
thousand
dollar
donation
recently
and
and
nobody
seems
to
know
who
that
guy
is.
F
F
The
daughter
who
acts
as
the
accountant
of
someone
in
this
community
who
is
a
high
net
worth
individual
looking
for
a
receipt
for
the
donation
she
made,
and
I
said
we
didn't-
receive
a
donation
from
that
individual,
but
we
would
be
happy
to
accept
one
and
this
person
said
she
should
donate
to
you.
So
I'm
I've
got
that
person's
contact
information
now
and
phone
number,
so
I'm
very
excited
and
you
guys
would
all
know
who
it
is.
F
A
A
A
Good,
does
anyone
have
any
questions
for
mr
sidley.
C
Oh
david
david.
Yes,
thanks
david.
I
have
one
question
for
you:
I
I
am
new
to
the
board
and
so
continue
to
appoint
myself
and
I'm
curious
as
to
how
many
gifts
you
might
expect
to
receive.
From
this
end
of
your
campaign,
you
mentioned
that
your
overall
goal
might
be
in
the
neighborhood
of
ten
thousand.
F
Oh,
that's
a
great
question,
my
guess
is
it's
probably
closer
to
a
hundred.
Most
of
the
notations
are
small
between
like
fifty
and
a
hundred
dollars,
but
that's
a
great
question
and
I'm
going
to
follow
up
because
I
don't
know
I
mean
I
know
how
many
letters
we
sent
out,
but
I
don't.
It
would
be
interesting
to
know
how
many
we
get
back.
That's
a
great
question.
C
F
F
A
Very
good:
that's
right,
also
trustee
norgaard
and
trustee
jones.
You
might
know
that
part
of
david's
responsibility
on
the
board
is
that
each
board
member
will
now
give
their
end
of
your
gift
too.
So
the
the
fundraising
they're
able
to
say
that
the
foundation
board
right
david
has
given
in
the
past
to
a
hundred
percent
and
you're
trying
to
get
everyone
to
do.
That
again.
Is
that
correct.
A
F
A
F
A
You
you
give
from
your
heart
whatever
you
can,
but
you
know
in
san
francisco,
we
we
went
after
we
said
to
people.
This
is
your
library,
you
know.
If
you
all
you
can
afford,
is
a
dollar
and
a
dollar's,
a
lot
of
money
to
you,
it's
a
lot
of
money
to
us
and
we
got
a
lot
of
five
dollars
and
dollars
and
I
remember
taking
kids
and
then
they
dropped
their
quarters.
In
I
mean
it's,
it's
really
something
to
see
so
that
small
money
adds
up
fast
right.
It
sure.
F
A
Jeannie,
do
you
want
do
you
or
julie?
Maybe
you
want
to
give
a
friend's
report
for
us.
B
Yeah,
well,
let
me
do
my
report
and
then
at
the
end,
julie
can
jump
in
with
any
adults
or
any
programs.
You
can
stay.
D
B
Camera
any
events
that
that
you
want
to
highlight,
and
then
the
friends
stuff
too,
so
the
city
is
doing
a
redistricting
meetings
and
the
library
will
be
a
host
of
one
of
those
meetings
december
16th
at
5
30
p.m.
At
the
library,
that's
a
thursday,
the
library
closes
at
6,
but
the
meeting
will
be
held
after
hours.
B
We'll
talk
about
the
friends
online
auction,
the
halloween
drive-through
was
a
huge
success.
We
had
a
ton
of
people
here
and
lots
of
cars
and
gave
away
all
the
candy
and
had
a
great
time.
B
B
One
of
the
events
that
we've
got
coming
up
that
we're
very
excited
about
is
pictures
with
santa
and
that
will
be
on
december
8th.
Can
you
believe
it's
already
time
to
talk
about
santa
so
december,
8th
from
3
to
6
p.m?
It's
an.
B
Only
photo
session
and
reservations
will
open
on
december.
First
we
mean
it's
going
to
be
tricky
and
fill
up
fast,
but
we
wanted
to
give
this
opportunity
to
our
community
once
again,
because
we
know
that
this
is
a
very
popular
event
and
so
we're
going
to
work
to
make
sure
that
it's
a
a
safe
event
and
that
you'll
be
able
to
come
and
get
your
photos
near
santa
our
online
events.
This
month,
adults
are
doing
thankful
boxes,
the
teens
are
doing
a
fall
leaf.
B
Art
and
kids
are
doing
acorn
pocket
aprons
and
then
I'm
sure
julie
can
talk
more
about
this.
But
once
again
we
wanted
to
remind
everyone
that
the
lgbtq,
plus
history
and
archives
exhibit
is
coming
up
tomorrow.
B
Yes,
so
that's
at
wellwood,
murray,
memorial
library,
tomorrow's
opening
is
from
6
to
8
pm
and
then
friday
and
saturday
10
to
5,
30
and
sunday
12
to
5
30.
and
then
julie.
If
there's
anything,
you
wanted
to
add,
please
jump
in.
D
Sure
yeah,
no
thanks
for
talking
about
the
exhibit
we're
really
excited.
We've
got
a
lot
of
great
press.
We
had
david
gray
on
eye
on
the
desert
recorded
today
that
will
air
tomorrow
and
we've
got
a
lot
of
great
media
support,
so
we're
super
excited
that
people
will
come
out,
hopefully
during
pride
and
see
the
exhibit
come
to
the
library,
so
we're
excited
to
be
hosting
it,
and
it's
looking
really
good
so
yeah.
I
hope
to
see
you
all
there.
D
As
for
other
events,
so
I
do
want
to
report
for
the
friends.
The
friends
received
a
proclamation
from
the
city
council
in
october
to
commemorate
their
50th
anniversary
of
being
an
organization
supporting
the
library,
so
that
was
exciting.
They
also
just
came
out
with
their
fall
newsletter.
So
if
you
are
a
member
of
the
friends,
hopefully
you
did
get
their
latest
newsletter
that
brought
you
up
to
date
with
all
their
goings
on,
but,
as
genie
said,
one
of
the
things
that
they're
doing
is
they're
going
to
have
another
online
auction.
D
It
was
very
popular
before,
and
so
this
one
will
be
is
coming
up
actually
very
soon,
reminding
myself
of
the
dates
it's
november
10th
through
the
14th.
They
have
a
lot
of
different
items
up
on
the
auction,
so
quite
array
of
things
and
prices
so
kind
of
something
for
everyone
and
just
in
time
for
the
holidays.
So
definitely
do
your
shopping
with
the
friends
online
at
their
online
auction.
D
They
are
also
going
to
do
a
dvd
and
cd
sale
for
one
saturday
only
in
december,
that
is
on
the
4th
of
december
from
10
to
1,
and
that
will
be
here
in
the
library
in
their
book
sale
area.
So
they
have
a
lot
of
different
things
coming
up.
As
for
programs
judy
mentioned
santa
we're,
also
going
to
do
one
more
online
lecture
via
zoom
in
december.
It
was
one
that
we
had
scheduled
right
before
the
pandemic,
and
so
we
are
bringing
it
back.
D
It's
called
mining
in
the
old
days
and
it's
kind
of
talking
about
all
the
wild
west
and
mining
going
on
in
our
area,
so
that
should
be
a
fun
one
and
that's
going
to
be
on
the
14th
of
december
at
3
30
on
zoom,
and
so
you
know
lots
of
different
things
coming
up
and
then
we're
looking
ahead
towards
phasing
some
in-person
programming
back
in
starting
in
the
new
year.
D
So
that
will
happen
over
time
and
as
we
find
the
right
things
to
bring
in
and
the
right
way
to
do
that
and
we'll
kind
of
figure
that
all
out.
So
it's
all
new
any
questions
that
I
could
answer
for.
Anyone.
A
Thank
you.
Thank
you
appreciate
it
all
right,
great
reports.
So
our
next
item
is
our
treasures
report.
So
jeannie
you
want
to
review
the
financials
with
us.
B
Okay,
let's
all
say
a
little
prayer
that
nothing
blows
up.
This
is
where
we
went
sideways.
The
last
two
months
of
screen
sharing,
but
I
got
an
update,
so
hopefully
it's
all
going
to
be
great
anyway,
we
did
get
some
corrections
on
the
financial
report,
so
you'll
be
happy
to
note
that
the
notes
receivable
balance
is
accurate.
B
So
the
balance
is
accurate,
62
000,
showing
as
owed
on
there.
The
the
current
fund
balance
is
the
the
cash
balance
is
1.8
million
with
some
other.
B
Listings
appropriations
and
whatnot,
so
total
in
the
trust
fund
listed
is
one
one
million,
eight
hundred
seventy
one
thousand
five
hundred
twenty
six
dollars
and
seventy
cents.
C
Before
you
go
into
the
next
page,
the
interest
rate
we
received
was
three
thousand
six
hundred
and
five
dollars
and
eighty
seven
cents
do.
We
know
what
percent
return
we're
getting?
Is
it
still
a
half
a
percent.
B
C
B
A
At
the
end
of
the
report,
I
want
to
talk
about
that,
so
I
have
on
my
agenda
to
add
a
new
charge.
I'd
like
to
to
make
so,
can
you
hold
that
thought
for
a
second
sure,
thank
you
for
bringing
it
up,
though,.
B
And
then
this
is
where
you
see
the
expenditures
for
the
library,
wellwood,
murray,
memorial
library
and
then
the
trust
fund
we
have
had.
We
finally
did
get
some
the
accounts
rolled
over
and
we're
working
on
doing
a
an
accounting.
B
I
don't
know
what
we
would
call
that
just
an
adjustment
so
that
we
can
pay
the
bills
of
the
trust
fund
books,
because
you
did
approve
the
money
for
that
and
now
we're
working
on
getting
everything
set
up
so
that
we
can
start
some
money
will
start
to
roll
out
of
here.
For
for
the
books
that
we
paid
for.
A
Jamie,
can
you
can
you
stop
right
there
for
a
second,
I
had
a
meeting
last
week
with
treasurer
jones
and
kind
of
gave
him
an
overview
from
my
perspective
on
this,
and
so
he's
agreed
going
forward.
He'll
do
this
report.
I
know
you're
happy
to
hear
that,
but
he's
going
to
set
up
a
time
to
meet
with
you
before
the
meeting
as
our
treasurer
should,
but
I
was
just
wondering:
can
we
take
a
moment
here
just
to
very
quickly?
A
B
We're
still
working
on
that
account.
What
happened?
Was
they
actually
overcharged?
You
and
my
account
was
in
a
negative,
and
so
I
had
to
submit
emails
to
say
please
put
that
money
back
and
then
we
were
working
on
that.
So
now
I
don't
know
I
I
need
to
look
into
why
it
says
12
000,
because
it
should
say
zero.
B
B
A
B
A
A
A
C
B
A
Yeah
so
the
other
thing
so
for
trustee
jones
and
trustee
norgaard.
So
what
what
we
normally
do
in
this
particular
time
and
jenny's
been
doing
this
but,
like
I
said,
al's
agreed
to
start
meeting
and
bringing
the
report
to
us
on
each
of
these
projects
because
we're
getting
believe
it
or
not
near
the
point
to
where
it's
budget
time
and
budget
preparation.
A
So
we
need
to
start
thinking
about.
You
know
what
we're
going
to
do
with
our
money
for
the
next
year
so-
and
I
want
to
talk
about
that
when,
when
genie
finishes,
but
is
there
anything
else
on
this
list
that
any
of
you
might
question
about
the
balances
or
what's
left
in
in
some
of
these
projects
and
by
the
way
these
projects
will
roll
off
once
they're
finished
as
jeannie
just
mentioned,
and
if
there's
any
unspent
money,
our
bylaws
say
that
money
goes
back
into
the
item
called
future
library
projects.
B
I
would
just
add
on
that
the
future
library
projects
account
we
haven't.
Really.
We
haven't
corrected
that
account
in
years
to
make
it
match
the
cash
balance.
So
you
notice
it's
1.5
million,
but
I
mentioned
that
there
was
about
1.8
million,
so
we've
got
these
numbers
there,
it's
obviously
more
than
1.8
million.
So
we
need
to
do
some,
some
downgrading
of
that
future
library
project's
number
to
make
it
more
balanced
with
the
actual
cash
amount.
The
other
thing
where
it
says:
training,
travel
and
dues.
B
B
We
could
ask
you
which
we
haven't
done
it,
but
we
could
ask
you
there
for
name
tag,
money
for
name,
tags
and
name
plates.
That's
what
we
were
using
that
money
for,
but
again
we
haven't,
haven't
met
in
person
in
you
know
almost
two
years
now,
so
it's
not
that
we've
been
we've
been
needing
to
ask
you
for
me.
I
still
have
mine
yeah.
Yours
is
you're
just
blurry,
but
yeah.
So.
A
Anyway,
just
for
a
real
quick
explanation,
our
two
reserve
accounts
there
that
we
always
fund
the
coffins
or
trust
and
the
trust
fund
books
you're
spending
that
money
right.
So
you
guys
spend
that
money
to
buy
those
materials
throughout
the
year.
Correct.
B
Yeah
profits
are,
you
have
authorized
ten
thousand
dollars,
and
so
we
are
working.
I
don't
know
if
it's,
I
don't
think
it's
switched
over.
It's
subtracted
yet,
but
we're
working
to
transfer
that
money
into
the
trust
fund
books
account
as
you'll
see
right
now.
They,
the
finance
department,
were
still
working
on
rolling
over
last
year,
so
this
it's
not
completely
where
we
want
it
to
be,
but
we're
going
to
get
these
numbers
more
accurate.
B
So
it's
not
like
your
money's
disappearing,
I'm
watching
it,
but
it's
not
where
I
want
it
to
be.
I
want
I
want
the
money
set
up
so
that
we
can
pay
our
bills.
B
Usually,
I
would
say
the
third
week
of
the
month
would
be
a
good
time
to
have
a
meeting
with
you,
because
these
number,
these
numbers
are
that's
usually
when
I'm
starting
to
prepare
and
think
about
the
board,
packets
and
so
yeah
somewhere
between
the
third
week
and
the
fourth
week
of
the
month.
B
C
A
I
want
to
go
back
to
trustee
borba,
so
craig.
What
I,
what
I
think
we're
ready
to
do
now
is
to
resurrect
the
conversations
that
we
were
having
when
trustee
kelly
and
by
the
way
I
saw
him
saturday
said,
tell
everyone
hello.
I
think
it's
time
for
us
to
now
start
investigating
what
we
want
to
do
with
our
trust
fund.
Remember
we
were
kind
of
at
the
point
to
where
we
were
talking
about.
Do
we
want
to
explore
the
city's
investment
firm?
Do
we
want
to
find
one
of
our
own
craig?
A
You
had
an
idea
about
one.
I
know
that
the
foundation
is
also
beginning
organized
around
their
investment
policy.
So
I'd
like
to
name
a
committee
of
our
treasurer
and
craig,
I
would
you
mind
serving
to
start
at
least
identifying
some
of
those
areas
that
we
want
to
investigate
and
start
getting
organized
around
that
because
you
you
have
the
history
there.
Do
you
mind?
Okay,.
C
A
A
Yes,
what
I'd
like
to
see
is
you
know
I
tried
to
give
al
as
much
background
as
possible
about
what
trustee
kelly
had
done
and
especially
he
was
starting
to
get
into
how
we
must
approach
ourselves
as
fiduciaries
over
this
trust
fund,
but,
more
importantly,
starting
to
identify
if
we
want
to
invest
it
elsewhere
and
what
are
our
options
to
invest
it
elsewhere?
So
remember
we
got
that
clear.
We
can
do
that
if
we
want.
A
I
think
it's
time
to
go
back
to
that
as
we
approach
the
end
cure
so,
okay,
great
great.
A
Any
questions
about
the
are
our
trust
fund
and
where
we
are
and
what's
going
on.
E
No,
I'm
just
saying
you've
already
covered
them.
That
was
the
question
about,
and
you've
already
asked
me
to
come
back
with
some
ideas
about
the
pr
campaign
for
the
use
of
the
funds,
as
we
had
talked
about
that
and
we're
getting
clarification
on
a
couple
of
other
items.
So.
A
Sure
I
I
I
think
we
need
to
start
making
now
that
we've
got
you
in
place.
I
think
leading
us
in
discussions
about
okay
genie
julie.
Do
you
need
this
five
thousand
dollars?
If
not,
then
okay,
great
we're
glad
you
used
it
and
it
did
good
we're
gonna
put
that
back
into
and
you'll
ask
again
because
they'll
be
asking
again
trust
me
for
money
from
us
in
the
next
round,
so
this
money
is
about
helping
them
promote
the
library.
A
All
right,
the
next
item
was
for
oh,
do
we
need
to
do
a
motion
to
accept
the
report.
I
don't
remember,
I
always
forget.
We
always
have
this
down
here
and
I
always
forget
we're
good
right.
A
A
That's
okay,
I
mean
so
let
me
start
talking
about
that.
So
in
order
to
get
ready
to
apply
for
money
which
we've
all
agreed,
we're
going
to
apply
for
money
and
we're
going
to
apply.
As
a
group,
I
had
started
preparing
the
application
and
I
was
just
and
jenny
created
a
google
doc
for
us
to
start
kind
of
throwing
things
on
there
to
get
organized
around.
So
I
went
out
and
did
a
little
bit
of
research.
A
The
first
thing
I
did
was:
I
went
to
our
strategic
plan
and
it
just
so
happens
that
our
strategic
plan
talks
about
our
goal
is
to
create
public
spaces
in
in
the
library
right.
So
I
lifted
that
out
as
a
priority.
We
had
already
discussed
with
our
community,
which
is
a
strong
statement
when
we
they
all
know
that
we
got
that
from
our
community
and
then
I
did
a
little
professional
research
to
find
out
what
libraries
in
general
are
doing
with
public
spaces
and
meeting
rooms,
and
I
found
some
really
good
thing.
A
There
is
a
lot
of
stuff,
as
jeannie
will
tell
you
about
all
the
different
examples
about
how
creative
libraries
have
gotten
around
the
country,
but
I
I
found
some
things
that
I
felt
were
worth.
Oh
here
it
is
so
again.
This
is
not
pretty
guys.
This
is
just
kind
of
a
start
of
a
document,
but,
of
course,
I've
identified
the
groups.
A
I
tried
to
follow
the
the
format
for
the
application
and
creating
this
and
so
did
genie.
So,
of
course,
it's
the
four
groups
that
are
going
to
apply.
What
are
we
applying
for?
When
do
we
want
the
money
and
where
do
we
want
to
spend
the
money?
So
that's
the
real,
simple
things
and
then
it
asks
why
and
to
be
honest
jenny,
maybe
you
know
by
now.
I
don't
know
if
we
need
to
be
really
real
extensive.
A
I
think
that
we
need
to
be
maybe
short
sweet
to
the
point,
but
here's
where
I
started
this
first
part
of
this
I
actually
pulled
from
from
our
plan
and
how
the
community
had
told
us
that
we
have
a
need
for
meeting
facilities.
A
I,
the
second
part
of
it,
is
right
out
of
our
plan
and
the
second
paragraph,
and
then
I
pulled
from
jeannie's
mission,
what
we're
here
to
do
so
that
just
kind
of
felt
very
natural
to
put
there
as
to
why
we
want
to
do
this.
It's
really
something
that's
been
stated.
It's
been
the
community
has
weighed
in
on
so
that
all
that
comes
from
input
that
we've
received
from
from
the
community
mission
statement
the
same
way
and
the
vision
statement.
A
A
Then,
if
you
scroll
down
the
light,
the
paragraph
that
begins
libraries
are
no
longer.
You
just
went
a
little
too
far,
but
that's
okay.
That
comes
out
of
the
professional
literature,
because
there
was
a
lot
of
discussion
out
there
that
I
found
where
libraries
and
I
thought
was
a
great
statement.
Libraries
are
no
longer
a
warehouse
for
books.
You
know-
and
we
know
our
library
is-
has
an
amazing
collection,
but
we're
no
longer
just
a
warehouse
for
books.
A
We
really
do
need
to
provide
space
and
opportunities
for
the
community
to
come
in
and
learn
and
educate
themselves
so
that
whole
section
through
there
I
pulled
from
the
literature
that
was
out
there.
A
There's
much
more
and
jenny
found
some
more
so
this
this
area
may
grow
some
and
then
jenny
started
talking
about
some
of
her
ideas
around
the
marker,
the
farmer's
market
and
a
fix,
a
clinic
and
the
sustainability
department,
and
how
we
might
be
able
to
partner
with
other
departments
out
there
or
other
agencies,
and
then
we
started
pulling
together
what
the
cost
might
be
and
the
materials
that
we
would
need.
So,
for
example,
jeannie
and
her
team
said
we
would
need
tables
with
wheels.
A
We're
gonna
need
for
20
people,
we're
gonna
need
laptops,
big
screens,
you
know
we're
going
to
need
some
new
doors
or
any
windows
so
trying
to
piece
together
what
we
would
have
used
the
money
for-
and
I
think
that's
where
we,
oh
oh
yeah
and
so
jeannie
feels
like-
and
I
agree
with
her
100
to
150.
A
000
is
probably
about
the
best
ass
we're
going
to
get
out
of
a
million
dollars
with
all
the
other
departments
asking
as
well,
but
this
certainly
means
that
we
could
take
this
money
and
leverage
it
with
the
friends
and
the
foundation
and
even
the
trust
fund
if
we
wanted
to
to
make
the
budget
what
it
needs
to
be
to
do
this
project
that
is
not
in
here.
So
we
need
to
probably
at
least
note
that
these
are
these
groups.
These
three
groups
are
willing
to
even
supplement
the
budget.
A
A
So
this
is
the
draft
and
I'll
stop
there
and
jeannie
I'll.
Let
you
add
your
two
cents
to
what
we've
been
doing
here.
B
B
I
wanted
to
say
thank
you
to
ed
and
everybody
who
helped
with
this
was
juanita.
Were
you
there
working
on
this?
It's
been
a
month,
but
thank
you.
This
is
this
is
a
oh
and
yeah.
We
did
help
have
helped
with
friends
and
foundations
here.
So
thank
you
to
everybody,
especially
ed,
for
taking
charge
on
on
writing
this
document,
and
so
I'm
very
optimistic
about
this.
I
think
it's
a
great
project.
I
think
it's
it's
something.
B
That's
accomplishable,
it's
something
that
can
get
done
and
something
that
is
easily
something
that
people
can
point
to
and
say.
This
is
where
your
measure
j
dollars,
went
right
here
and
you
can
use
the
room
and
it's
for
the
community
and
it
would
just
be
a
great
asset
for
the
city.
A
So
the
next
steps
here
would
be
I'd
like
for
any
of
the
trustees
to
if
there's
you're
certainly
welcome
to
edit
make
suggestions
read
through
this
and
then
we'll
pass
it
around
to
our
colleagues
at
the
foundation
and
the
friends,
because
we
want
you
know
their
input
on
it
as
well.
What
is
the
deadline
genie?
I
forgot
that
we
needed
to
get
this
wrapped
up.
A
So
it's
coming
up
about
a
month
right,
so
I
I
would
jeannie
can
have
you
given
access
to
this
document
to
everybody
all
the
trustees.
B
I
don't
know,
but
I
can.
I
can
certainly
share
it
with
everyone.
E
B
B
B
E
B
You
might
want
to
mention
it,
you
could
say
you
know
we
could.
We
hope
that
this
is
a.
I
don't
know
what
what
the
word
would
be
like
an
accessory
too.
A
There
certainly
could
be
a
place
in
here
in
the
under
the
y
is
that
you
know
we
consider
this
to
be
a
first
project
among
these
groups
in
preparation
for
the
larger
projects
that
are
on
the
measure
j
agenda
for
the
fry
jc
building,
anime
library,
you
certainly
could
put
that
in
there
so
craig,
if
you
want
to
give
a
stab
at
where
you
think
it
might
be
best.
Please
do
I
think
that'd
be
great,
and
so
we'll
give
everybody
access
to
this.
A
But
certainly,
if
you
read
it
and
you
and
you
can't
master
google
docs,
you
can
send
us
email
notes
and
just
say
hey.
I
saw
this.
Can
you
insert
this
or
could
you
do
that
I'd
like
to
then
get
it
out
to
all
of
you
for
one
more
review
before
I
send
it
over
to
the
friends
into
the
foundation
and
let
them
mull
it
over
as
well
like
I
said,
I
don't
think
this
needs
to
be
an
extensive
request.
A
C
Job
and
do
I
recall
correctly,
that
the
decision
makers
for
the
funds
are
a
commission
that
is
charged
specifically
with
making
the
awards.
A
B
Motion
sensor
he's
blocked
by
all
the
storage
of
our
stuff,
you're,
probably
right
ed.
I
I
would
suspect
that
there
is
a
subcommittee.
I
don't
really
know
the
details
of
that,
but
I
I
know
that
the
mr
j
commission
would
probably
send
their
recommendations
to
council,
because
council
has
the
final
say.
A
I
thought
there
was,
but
I
could
have
been
dreaming
that.
But
I
thought
there
was
a
sub
crew
that
was
going
to
look
at
these
and
then
make
recommendations
to
the
overall
commission
and
then
on
to
council
to
approve.
But.
E
A
And
by
the
way,
everyone
I've
asked
al
to
start
attending
the
measure
j
meetings.
I.
A
E
A
So
that
he
can
at
least
listen
and
and
when
they
pick
up
library
or
mention
library,
you
know
we're
being
talked
about,
but
to
be
a
little
more
educated
around
for
us
on
how
manager
j
is
working.
But
if
you
don't
mind
I'll
reach
out
to
jeffrey
and
see
if
he'll
share
with
you
and
share
with
us.
A
That's
that's
not
a
lot
of
money
when
you
think
about
it
right
so
they
may
they
may
say.
Oh,
we
can
you
know,
we've
got
everybody
requesting.
A
hundred
thousand
dollars
is
way
too
much,
but
they
may
come
back
and
say
we'll
give
you
50
000
or
75
000..
So
I'm
that's
my
only
concern.
I
think
we'll
get
something
I'd
be
very
surprised
if
they
didn't
give
us
something
but
yeah
and
we'll
we'll
find
the
rest
whatever
we
need
right.
I
mean
right,
we're
lucky:
we've
got
the
money,
you
know
we.
A
We
have
some
money
that
we
can
spend
anybody
else.
Any
questions
all
right.
Thank
you
genie.
Let
me
know
what
else
you
need
me
to
do
in
helping
you.
I
mean
I
don't
mind
if
the
comments
come
to
me
I'll
I'll,
be
happy
to
go
and
apply
them,
so
you
don't
have
to
do
that
so,
but
if
you'll
help
me
get
that
out
to
everybody
I'll
gather
the
comments
and
make
the
edits
and
share
the
document.
A
B
B
C
C
I
know
right
thank
you,
quick
status,
update,
juanita
and
jeannie,
and
I
met
just
after
the
last
meeting
of
the
board
and
talk
through
the
desired
revisions
of
the
bylaws.
A
draft
is
complete
and
as
soon
as
genie
and
juanita
take
a
look
at
it
for
the
next
meeting
great.
C
C
And
I
just
I
just
wanted
to
say
you
know
big
big,
thank
you
to
david.
He
is
such
an
expert,
you
know
when
it
comes
to
bylaws
and
we're
so
so
fortunate
to
have
him
help
us
with
that.
He
did
everything,
and
the
other
thing
I
want
to
say
is
that
we
met
in
person,
which
was
absolutely.
E
A
Good.
Thank
you
for
that
report.
We
look
forward
to
it
the
library
annual
report
genie.
You
got
one
what's
going
on.
B
We
had
to
include
our
bighorn
with
his
mask
because
it
was
a
year
so
we're
presenting
this
to
you
every
year.
We
are
required
to
provide
statistics
to
the
california
state
library,
so
we
gather
our
statistic.
We
track
it
all
throughout
the
year
and
then
add
it
up
and
submit
our
statistics
and
then
per
year
bylaws
we
submit
an
annual
report
to
city
council,
and
so
we
just
want
to.
B
We
keep
it
simple
present
some
highlights
of
our
statistics
and
then
tell
a
few
stories
about
some
of
the
things
that
we
did
and
there
you
go
so
some
of
that
over
well
wrong
way.
Some
of
the
highlights
we
were
close,
so
this
is
for
july
1st
of
2020
through
june
30th
of
2021,
so
we
were
closed
and
then
we
reopened
for
a
few
weeks
in
november
december
and
then
we
closed
and
then
we
reopened
may
5th
and
then
so
may
5th
through
june.
B
30Th
is
really
the
bulk
of
the
in-person
library
business
door
count.
So
we.
B
People,
you
know
so
not
kimber,
you
know.
Obviously
we
cannot
compare
these
years
from
our
previous
statistics
because
our
previous
years,
we
were,
you
know
seeing
that
that
we
would
see
that
in
two
weeks
you
know
a
thirteen
thousand
door
count
that
would
be
about
a
two
to
three
week.
I
don't
know
patrons
and
we
would
check
out
about
a
half
a
million
items,
but
we
we
held
strongly
done
a
lot
of
things.
We
we
boosted
our
wi-fi
so
that
we
could
have
wi-fi
in
the
parking
lot.
B
We
did
our
library
a
go-go
service.
We
served
twelve
thousand
two
hundred
and
seven
patrons
through
library
and
gogo
48,
000,
ebooks,
checked
out
and
so
just
enjoy
this
and
read
it.
But
we
we
did
a
lot
of
programs.
We
had
160
virtual
programs
and
920
people
participated,
live
that's
book.
Clubs
mostly,
I
think
that's
mostly
our
book
clubs,
because
we
didn't
do
a
lot
of
live
programming
and
then
on
demand
views
almost
7.
B
400
people
watched
our
videos,
so
we
had
a
great
year
did
a
lot
of
real
service
to
the
community.
I
think
it
was
really
something
that
we
were
there
to
help
and
we
we
had
a
new
service.
Like
called
ask
a
librarian
and
people
reached
out
to
us
and
said
you
know,
I
I've
got
an
interest
in
music
cds,
and
so
we
would
pick
out
some
things
for
them
to
check
out
and
make
suggestions.
B
B
I
did
that
one
summer
reading
we
we
still
had
a
great
summer
reading,
which
we
talked
about
before
the
adults
and
teens
and
school-aged
children
tracked
the
number
of
minutes
read
and
they
read
3000
hours
and
the
preschool
and
kindergarteners
read
2254
books
and
we
made
a
craft
kit
and
our
teen
librarian
smashed
a
pinata
at
the
one-year
anniversary
of
the
cover
pandemic.
It.
D
B
C
A
B
E
A
B
C
C
C
C
C
Thanks
jeannie.
A
B
C
Read
the
report
beforehand
and
thank
you
for
for
sending
it
out
to
us,
along
with
the
rest
of
the
packet.
It
looks
great.
It
reads
well,
in
my
my
opinion,
I'm
just
curious
about
one
thing:
having
not
read
one
of
these
before
I,
I
did
not
recall
any
mention
of
the
collection
itself
in
terms
of
acquisitions
or
interesting
new,
specific
acquisitions,
or
anything
like
that.
Is
that
something
that
is
not
ordinarily
mentioned
or
because
of
this
year.
There
wasn't
really
a
reason
to.
B
We
we
do
collect
that
data
and
we
report
it
to
the
state
library.
We
typically
don't
put
it
in
this
report.
We
focus
more
on
performance
as
far
as
attendance
of
events
and
use
of
the
collection.
So
we
have,
I
lisa
the
number
of
what
is
it
96
000
items
we
just
got
the.
Let
me
stop
sharing
this
and
then
I
can.
I
have
it
saved
real
quick.
D
And
the
other
thing
I
could
say
is
that
in
years
past,
if
we
have
gotten
like
a
significant
new
edition
like
when
we
added
ebooks
or
if
there
was
a
certain
collection,
a
database
or
something
like
that,
that
we
added
we
would
highlight
it,
because
this
is
just
to
highlight
a
short
report.
We
don't
necessarily
always
report
on
that.
Every
year,.
B
Let
me
share
this
with
you:
it's
an
infographic.
We
got
back
from
the
california
state
library
you
can
find.
All
of
the
all
of
our
statistics
are
available
through
the
california
state
library,
it's
through
accounting
opinions,
and
I
can
definitely
send
you
that
we
collect
so
many
statistics.
B
C
B
B
Two
reports,
but
some
of
our
programs
were,
I
don't
even
know
how
we
can
we
can.
We
had
to
adjust
some
of
the
ways
we
counted
our
programs,
but
okay,
we
have
23
545
people
with
library
cards.
C
B
C
B
Definitely
encourage
you
to
go
I'll,
find
that
that
website,
for
you.
D
Yeah,
we
just
got
that
today
and
actually
we'll
probably
post
it
on
our
website.
We
jeannie
just
sent
it
to
me
and
we
were
just
kind
of
talking
about
different
ways
to
use
it,
so
we
just
got
that
for
the
first
time
today,.
B
So
the
website
is,
it's
ca.countingopinions.com.
B
And
I
can
email
that
to
you
email,
you,
a
link,
and
you
can
look
at
data
for
many
many
past
years
and
compare
us
to
other
libraries
of
similar
sizes
or
not
just
neighboring
libraries,
and
you
can
export
this
information
into
excel
and
then
manipulate
it
and
sort
it
it's
fascinating
data.
I
love
dating.
B
Yeah
I'll
put
it
I'll,
put
it
in
the
chat
right
now
and
then
I'll
email
you
guys
email.
Thank
you.
A
B
B
Correct
so
we
we
got
a
grant
from
the
california
state
library
for
chromebooks.
We
have
12
chromebooks
and
we're
getting
ready
to
start
lending
those,
and
so
what
we
did
was.
Thank
you
julie.
Again,
we
worked
with
the
hot
spot
policy
that
you
all
just
recently
approved,
modified
it
to
fit
for
chromebooks,
submitted
it
to
the
city
attorney's
office.
They
provided
their
feedback
and
suggestions,
and
so
we
present
this
to
you.
B
It's
in
your
packet,
the
chromebook
lending
policy
in
advance
of
any
questions
where
you
might
ask
about
the
replacement
costs
and
the
fee
structure.
This
policy
still
fits
in
with
our
current
fee
policy,
where,
if
an
item
that's
owned
by
the
library
is
lost,
you
pay
the
price,
the
replacement
cost.
So
we
don't
have
to
modify
our
fee
structure
in
that
way
and
just
put
the
current
retail
price
as
our
replacement
fee,
because
the
price
could
change.
C
B
I'm
going
to
say
this
is
the
most
expensive
item
we
have
had.
If
you
borrow,
you
could
borrow
more
than
430
worth
of
merchandise
if
you
bought.
If
you
borrowed
some
dvd
tv
series
or
box
sets
or
things
like
that,
you
could,
you
could.
We've
got
some
people
who
have
taken
some
things
and
not
brought
them
back,
and
they
owe
us
some
money.
So
how
many
people
are.
A
A
B
B
When
we
get
the
item
back,
we're
going
to
have
to
check
it
and
make
sure
that
it's
the
setup
the
way
it
should
be
we
have
to,
we
have
to
set
these
up,
there's
a
there's
a
way.
We
can
monitor
these.
Obviously,
we
can't
monitor
what
you
do
on
it,
but
we
can
monitor
where
it
is
and
we
can
deactivate
it
if
it's
checked
out
too
long,
which
we
do
with
the
hot
spots
too.
We
have
a
dashboard
that
we
could
turn
them
off
and
the
schools
do
that
too,
with
their
chromebooks.
A
And
I
know
that
all
of
us
are
accustomed
to
clicking.
I
agree
on
everything
we
do
electronically
right.
So
I'm
curious
the
internet
used
policy
that
we've
had
in
place
for
quite
some
time.
I
mean
this.
This
is
out
of
sight
right,
so
someone
has
it
at
home.
I
mean.
Is
this
just
kind
of
a
you're?
Are
you
going
to
include
that
policy?
Will
they
have
to
check
that
they've
read
that
policy
again?
How
would
you
police
the
any
possible
violations
of
the
internet
policy.
B
I
don't
know
lisa,
do
you
might
know
something
about
that,
but
or
julie
can
chime
in
I'm
not
really
sure
honestly,
but
we
just
want
to
make
sure
that
people
we
set
this.
We
set
the
policy,
we
want
them
to
be
use
the
honor
method
and
we
we
will
have
filtering
software
on
these,
so
they
they.
B
Do
supposed
to
not
go
to
inappropriate
sites.
D
And
it's
sort
of
like
with
any
of
our
others.
You
know
on
the
back
of
your
library
card,
we
have
a
similar
statement.
I
mean
a
lot
of
this
is
legalese
that
we
need
to
say
that
you
know
you
are
being
told,
but
you
need
to
follow
these
policies,
but
a
lot
of
it
just
like
anything
else,
is
on
the
honor
system.
C
B
That's
what
is
supposed
to
happen.
We
are
restricted
by
the
children's
internet
protection
act
and
we
are
required
to
provide
filters
on
our
technology
that
we
loan,
whether
we
agree
with
it
or
not,
and
these
are
loaned
to
adults.
These
are
loans,
people
18
and
over
so
adults
should
have
a
choice,
but
we
are
bound
by
those
restrictions
based
on
this
grant.
A
B
We
defend,
we
defend
the
freedom
to
read.
We
defend
the
freedom
to
view
we,
we
want
people
to
be
able
to
have
choices,
to
do
to
make
their
own
decisions
on
that
that,
because
this
is
a
federal
grant,
we
we
are
bound
by
those
filters
restrictions.
So,
but
again
we
encourage
all
parents
and
adults
to
make
their
own
choices
on
that.
A
E
No,
but
but
ed
you
know,
I
I
never
realized.
I
was
this
conservative.
Quite
frankly,
I
think,
as
I
get
older
I'd
be
working,
but
I
mean
it
is
public
property.
I
don't
think
there's
anything.
I
agree
that
adults
and
others
should
be
able
to
do
what
they
want
to
do,
except
insofar
as
using
a
piece
of
equipment
belongs
to
the
taxpayers
of
the
city
of
palm
springs.
I
think
there's
you
know
it's
reasonable
to
put
on
restrictions
in
terms
of
what
is
accessible
or
not.
A
E
A
A
C
Is
someone
going
to
is
the
person
checking
out
the
chromebook
going
to
get
a
copy
of
this
to
have,
or
is
that
something
they're
going
to
just
view
and
agree
to,
or
is
there
something
to
sign,
or
is
it
just
like
checking
out
a
book?
Your
library
card
is.
B
That's
a
good
question.
I
think
I'm
not
sure
if
we
were
going
to
put
that
it's
definitely
going
to
be
on
our
website.
So
the
plan
we
don't,
we
don't
put
it
with
a
hot
spot.
So
I
don't.
We
don't
have
a
plan
to
put
this
policy
in
with
the
with
the
chromebooks.
We
certainly
could,
but
it
is
going
to
be
available
on
our
website.
C
With
the
hot
spots,
we
have
a
qr
code
on
the
case
that
links
to
the
policy,
and
so
we'll
probably
do
something
similar
on
the
case
of
the
chromebooks.
Thank.
B
C
B
C
C
B
They
have
access
to
that
qr
code,
so
we
could.
We
could
show
it
to
them
if
they
had
a
question
but
yeah
when
they
take
it,
they
they
agree.
Just
like
our
books.
B
B
C
Weeks,
maybe
yeah
for
sure,
by
the
end
of
this
month,
yeah
can
we
have
a
six
day
six
month
update
on
this
usage
information.
A
And
just
very
quickly
refresh
our
memory
on
challenges
to
the
collection
which
is
now
part
of
the
collection.
If
someone
in
the
community
would
have
challenged
anything
about
this
program,
what
what
do
they
do?
They?
They?
It
comes
to
you
first
right,
so
yeah
I
haven't
seen
with
those
in
forever.
So
maybe
you
don't
have
them.
B
Right,
we
have
a,
we
have
a
form
that
patrons
can
fill
out
if
they
have
a
challenge
to
one
of
our
items
in
the
collection
or
our
policy,
and
they
can
fill
out
that
form.
And
then
it
goes
to
the
collection,
development
team,
which
is
made
up
of
all
the
librarians
and
administration.
And
we
review
the
request
and
then
we
respond
and
we
make
a
decision
as
a
group
and
you
know,
and
then
we
respond.
A
And
we
have
a,
we
have
a
motion
from
christy
volvo
in
a
second
from
trustee
jones
roll
call.
Please.
B
Yes,
edna
ryan.
C
B
C
B
C
B
C
A
Okay.
Thank
you.
Our
next
item
is
any
trustee
staff
comments
or
future
agenda
items.
Do
we
have
anything
from
the
trustees
or
from
staff.
A
All
right,
everyone
great
meeting,
so
we've
for
the
next
agenda,
as
we've
already
discussed,
we're
going
to
have
our
treasurer
start,
leading
our
discussion
around
the
finances,
and
then
I've
asked
trustee,
burba
and
trustee
jones
to
start
exploring
and
picking
up
where
we
left
off
around
the
investment
policies
and
where
we
want
to
invest
our
money
right.
A
If
you
please
look
at
the
major
j
application,
if
you
have
no
changes,
just
share
with
junior
changes,
but
if
you
have
some
thoughts,
please
contribute
so
we
can
get
that
moving
again
and
and
keep
that
going.
Okay!
A
B
A
B
D
Oh
sure,
yes,
so
I
did
want
to
let
you
know
that
in
the
not
too
distant
future,
you
will
be
seeing
something
about
a
handrail
being
installed
at
the
wellwood
on
the
front
steps
that
will
be
just
for
you
know
helping
people
come
in
and
out
to
aid
in
that,
but
it
will
be
very
much
cognizant
of
the
historical
aspects
of
the
building
and
match
with
the
facade
and
things
like
that,
and
so
it's
a
very
small
project,
but
I
just
wanted
to
let
you
know
that
you
will
probably
be
seeing
something
about
that
in
the
near
future.
D
D
Yeah,
so
they'll
get
no
they've
been
notified
that
that's
happening
and
they
will
get.
You
know
when
we
get
to
the
point
of
picking.
You
know
what
it's
going
to
be:
it's
going
to
be
a
single-hand
rail
right
in
the
center
of
the
stairs,
so
there's
not
a
lot
of
design
to
it,
but
you
know
there's
some
aspect
of
it,
so
they
will
as
a
courtesy,
be
shown
what
is
going
to
happen.
C
D
A
You
all
right,
let's
if
there
are
other,
no
more
questions
or
comments,
we'll
adjourn
the
meeting
at
6
39.,
that's
good.
