If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
B
C
B
You
may
I
have
a
a
report
on
the
posting
of
the
agenda.
Please,
yes,.
C
B
A
B
This
time
has
been
set
aside
for
members
of
the
public
to
address
this
storage
site
preservation,
board
onto
agenda
items
and
items
of
general
interest
within
the
subject
matter:
jurisdiction
of
the
board,
although
the
historic
site
preservation
board
values
your
comments
for
suin
to
the
Brown
Act,
it
generally
cannot
take
any
action
on
items
not
listed
on
the
posted
agenda.
There
will
be
three
minutes
assigned
for
each
speaker.
B
Testimony
for
public
hearings
will
be
taken
at
the
time
of
the
hearing,
seeing
that
there
are
no
I
guess
teared
to
what
to
speak
to
us
today,
I'm
going
to
close
the
public
comment,
so
I'm
going
to
move
right
on
to
the
consent
agenda
item
1a
approval
of
the
minutes,
May
14,
29,
th
s,
BB
meeting.
Are
there
any
questions,
our
Corrections
in
the
minutes?
A
B
Excuse
me
so
I'll
call
up.
Excuse
me
the
question,
those
in
favor
hi.
A
B
Opposed
motion
carries
six
to
zero
public
hearings,
as
we
have
no
public
hearings
today
or
unfinished
business.
Let's
move
right
on
to
new
business
item
for
a
Doug
Macbeth
on
behalf
of
the
marito
Manor
Community
Association,
requesting
historic
district
designation
of
marito
manor
condominiums
located
at
the
southeast
corner
of
West
marito
Place
and
North
lardo
Road
may
I
have
a
staff
report.
Please,
yes,.
C
Thank
you
mr.
chair,
as
has
been
done
in
the
past
when
we've
had
applications
come
in.
This
is
an
application
from
a
private
applicant.
Our
recommendation
for
you
today
is
to
receive
the
historic
resources
report
dated
May
of
2019
direct
staff
to
schedule
the
site
visits
of
the
board,
to
visit
the
site
and
to
schedule
a
public
hearing
of
the
board
to
consider
the
application.
C
A
B
A
A
A
E
E
1968
in
the
60s,
mr.
burkus
was
not
an
architect.
He
received
his
license
in
1973,
so
the
third
line
down
the
word
architect
should
be
struck.
It
was
designed
by
Barry
burkas
and,
in
the
last
paragraph
on
that
page
third
line
up
from
the
bottom.
Mr.
burkas
did
not
design
the
maritime
museum
that
was
designed
by
Winslow
Sewell
in
1941
on
page
twelve
third
line
up
from
the
bottom.
E
E
It
talks
about
in
the
bottom.
It
talks
about
his
background
page
well,
yeah,
I'm,
page
12,
probably
the
second
paragraph
up
from
the
bottom
talks
about
after
graduating.
It
does
not
mention
he
worked
for
Cody
and
I.
Think
that's
important
for
the
minimalism
expressed
in
the
Morita
project
for
a
point
of
record
I
knew
mr.
burkas
personally
I
work
for
a
firm
that
did
contract
work
for
him
in
the
late
70s
early
80s,
so
I
knew
him
well
enough.
He
could
call
me
on
the
phone
and
burn
my
ears
comments.
I'd
made.
E
B
B
D
B
C
C
B
B
E
E
E
E
B
C
C
The
suggestion
is
that
we've
read
reviewed
the
class
three
list,
sites
that
are
historically
significant,
but
under
recognized
or
little-known
by
the
public
and
those
sites
that
may
be
vulnerable,
are
threatened
by
demolition
or
redevelopment
pressure
or
are
otherwise
at
risk
and
sites
that,
through
designation,
can
become
catalysts
for
economic
development,
and/or,
neighborhood
improvement
and
revitalization.
On
page
two
of
this
memo,
then,
are
the
recommendations
that
we're
putting
forth
that
are
primarily
a
lot
of
the
material
that
you
had
identified
as
top
priorities
from
last
year.
C
However,
because
of
the
amazing
number
of
private
applications
that
the
city
received
this
year
as
well
as
a
lot
of
the
other
work,
we
were
involved
in
with
the
new
ordinance.
Most
of
these
did
not
get
started
so
there's
six
there
that
I've
suggested
to
you
and
those
are
merely
a
launch
point
and
no
means
of
getting
a
discussion
started
for
the
sites
that
you
might
want
to
work
on
this
year.
The
second
part
on
page
2
of
the
memo
are
those
recommendations
for
education
and
outreach.
C
Again,
we
think
that
the
hosting
of
the
preservation
matters
symposium
is
really
sort
of
your
star
attraction
in
terms
of
working
on
education
and
outreach
will
continue
the
staff
and
board
presentations
to
the
Realtors
board
about
historic
preservation.
That's
primarily
an
activity
that
I've
been
involved
with,
but
I'm
always
happy
to
share
the
workload
on
that
participation
in
modernism
week
shows,
as
we've
done
before,
with
the
unmanned
HSP
be
booth.
C
That
seems
to
be
a
good
way
that
we've
at
least
got
a
visual
presence
in
that
particular
venue
and
there's
always
lots
and
lots
of
people
from
out
of
town
that
are
at
that
modernism
show
so
I
think
it
continues
to
be
a
good
way
for
us
to
have
an
awareness
at
that
show.
Anecdotally.
We
go
through
a
lot
of
our
pass
outs
when
we
keep
that
booth
stocked
through
that
week,
so
we
do
know
that
the
material
does
get
taken
and
reviewed
and
then,
lastly,
the
other
thoughts
that
might
be
interesting
for
the
board.
C
To
think
about.
You
know
we
are
a
member
of
the
certified
local
government
program
and
through
the
State
Office
of
Historic
Preservation,
and
they
do
offer
grants
every
year
to
those
cities
that
apply
for
them.
Two
years
ago
we
did
submit
a
CLG
grant
for
the
first
time
we
had
a
grant
writer
temporarily
here
at
the
city
that
we
were
able
to
make
use
of.
Our
grant
was
not
awarded,
but
we
were
given
high
marks
as
a
good
submission
for
our
first
try.
C
We
don't
have
a
grant
writer
anymore
at
the
city,
so
any
effort
that
we
would
do
in
considering
putting
together
a
grant
for
submission
to
see
LG
is
one
that
we
would
probably
seek
some
assistance
from
either
members
of
the
board
or
if
we
were
to
go
out
for
a
consultant
to
put
one
together
for
us
and
then
lastly,
coordination
with
local
schools,
colleges
and
other
educational
institutions
to
promote
and
encourage
awareness
in
historic
preservation
and
I.
Think
chair
Burkett
has
some
thoughts
in
that
regard.
C
The
last
thing
that
I've
provided
for
you
on
your
memo
is
the
listing
from
last
year
in
terms
of
the
CLG
grants
that
were
awarded
and
the
cities
to
whom
they
were
awarded,
and
then
the
last
two
pages
are
the
background
history
of
those
cities
that
have
received
CLG
grants
simply
as
a
matter
of
kind
of
getting
your
creative
juices
flowing.
If
the
idea
is
to
work
on
submitting
a
grant,
what
kinds
of
things
they
typically
award
for
with
that
I'm
going
to
open
it
back
up
to
you,
mr.
C
However,
if
there's
other
sites
that
people
want
to
consider,
we
would
get
those
all
together
on
a
list
and
then
what
I
would
do
as
I've
done
in
the
past
is
send
those
lists
back
out
to
you
and
ask
you
to
prioritize
them.
Then,
based
on
each
of
you
submitting
your
priorities
to
me,
I
tallied,
o--'s,
up
and
present
those
at
the
next
meeting
for
your
consideration
is
to
what
are
your
top
priority
sites
to
consider?
Okay,
so
we
can
run
it
that
way
or
any
other
way.
You
wish.
B
C
D
F
F
C
C
So
it's
it
is
conceivable
that
you
can
put
together
an
application
for
a
nomination
for
recommendation
and
not
outlay
an
enormous
amount
of
money
to
do
so.
So
just
keep
that
in
mind
as
well,
depending
on
the
site.
You
pick,
it
could
either
be
a
real
slam-dunk
or
those
that
are
more
obscure.
Do
take
a
little
more
research.
A
C
B
C
A
C
Show's
end
well,
I,
don't
know
what
the
ten
percent
has
been
every
year,
but
you
can
see
the
gray
amounts
that
are
showing
up
on
the
dresse
that
had
been
awarded
in
the
past
I
think
for
the
one
for
last
year.
They
had
shown
it
and
then
I,
but
you
know
I
apologize,
that's
that
has
had
it,
but
this
doesn't
have
the
dollar.
C
A
D
I
have
a
question:
I
haven't
reviewed
all
of
the
class
three
sites,
so
I
may
not
be
familiar,
but
looking
at
the
the
Arabi
Rock
houses,
you
know
I
happen
to
live
up
in
Arabi
and
was
the
the
Adobe.
You
know
that
is
currently
on
Arabi
Drive.
It's
a
you
know
very
large
original
Adobe
that
was
built
in
the
1920s
and
it's
pretty
much
intact.
Frank
Frank
Jones
owns
that.
Has
that
been
on
any
less?
Has
that
been
discussed
or
anything?
C
A
D
C
D
A
D
D
Also
and
I
do
have
some
testimonials
that
because
we
always
wondered
what
that
was
about,
because
my
mother-in-law
came
to
Palm
Springs
in
the
1930s
as
a
teenager
and
talked
about
those
houses,
those
little
rock
houses
and
then
moya
Henderson
lived
in
in
Arabi
and
Jane
Hoff
lived
in
Arabi
Jane
will
be
a
hundred
this
year,
so
I
have
some
testimonials
that
could
share
at
the
appropriate
time
about
those
rock
houses
because
I
know,
there's
not
a
lot
of
research
on
them.
Yeah.
C
B
B
D
D
There's
actually
quite
a
few,
this
up
in
Arabi
there
I
have
a
brochure
of
the
original
track
that
was
in
like
1920.
That
shows
you
know
the
original
layout
of
the
track
and
there's
some
other
very
old
historic
houses
that
little
white
house,
the
Purcell
house
that
was
built.
You
know
as
the
track
house
anyway,
there's
others
in
Arabi
too.
So
I'll
kind
of
look
into
that.
So.
E
I'd
suggest
we
put
it
at
the
top
of
the
list.
If
there
are
people
still
alive,
a
good
give
testimony
that
we
should
grab
that
as
soon
as
we
can,
plus
those
are
the
things
that
are
the
most
endangered
of
being
torn
down
and
a
full
mid-century
put
in
its
place.
B
B
A
C
That
regard
you
know,
Dan
brings
up
a
really
interesting
point.
When
you
see
buildings
like
arrive,
that
are
new
buildings
that
when
they
go
in,
they
actually
enhance
and
complement
the
older
buildings
that
are
there,
and
you
can
really
call
that
out
as
a
rather
successful
development.
So
the
new
building
is
standing
on
its
own
and
very
interesting
and
it
hasn't
diminished
the
visual
interest
of
the
old
one
and.
B
If
they
were
like
done
in
more
of
that
old,
rust
color,
it
would
look
like
it's
one
whole
piece,
yeah
yeah
there
was
a
well-thought-out
blending
I
just
have
to,
but
these
others
are
so
special
but
I'm
almost
reticent
to
even
mention
them,
but
I
just
I'll
just
share
them
with
you.
What
my
thinking
is
again,
because
it's
very
unique,
as
I
think
is
the
colony,
29
and
also
I,
continually,
am
concerned
about
the
racket
club
I.
B
C
A
A
A
C
It's
one
of
those
kinds
of
things
that,
if
it's
something
that
the
board
thinks
has
merit,
and
it's
one
that
you
want
to
work
on
the
first
place
we
can
start
is
by
sending
a
letter
saying
we
talked
about
it.
Here's
the
possibilities.
Do
you
have
any
interest?
Here's
our
number
and
start
a
dialogue
than
half
okay
and
then
I
can
report
back
yeah.
C
Know
they're
a
blank
wall,
they
really
aren't
interested,
then
you
guys
can
choose
whether
or
not
to
take
it
on.
If
they
come
back
and
say
well,
gosh
we'd
never
thought
about
it,
but
you
know
maybe
we'd
like
to
there.
You
go
so
if
it's
ones
that
you
think
have
have
have
interest
for
you
as
possible
things
to
work
on
then
go
ahead
and
list
them,
and
if
we
find
that
there's
owner
support
for
it,
then
you
can
kind
of
shift
those
things
around
with
that
tonight.
C
C
The
gas
company
does
not
own
that
site.
The
gas
company
building
was
purchased
by
the
same
individual
who
owns
the
corridor
where
Coffee
North
is
right.
I've
had
conversation
with
him
recently
because
there's
site
improvements
and
landscaping,
and
things
like
that
that
they're
going
to
undertake
and
I
have
discussed
with
him
the
possibility
that
once
he
gets
the
building
cleaned
up.
If
he
wanted
to
consider
class
1
designation
I
explained
the
mills
act
to
him
and
he
he
was
interested.
C
B
C
I
think
the
ones
that
you
had
that
you've
worked
on
that
you
know
a
lot
of
these
are
carry
forward
and
I
think
they're,
really
good
sites
to
work
on
yeah.
The
only
thing
is
I
want
to
say,
which
you
know
with
any
work
plan.
As
I
said,
this
is
the
material
that
you
work
on
when
there's
nothing
else
coming
across
your
desk.
So
you
know
the
keep
in
mind
that
we
may
or
may
not
get
through
all
of
these,
depending
on
how
much
other
activity
we
have
with
applications
coming
in
from
private
landowners.
C
But
it's
good
to
have
this
kind
of
list
that
you
can
then
begin
working
on
when
there
is
time
so
I'll
take
this
list
that
you
have
then,
and
for
the
next
meeting
in
July,
I'll
put
together
a
tally
sheet
that
I'll
pass
out
to
you
before
that
meeting
and
what
I
would
like
to
have.
Each
of
you
do
as
you've
done
in
years.
Past
is
simply
enumerate
them
in
the
order
that
you
think
they
should
be
worked
on.
C
So
if
you
think
that
the
Bank
of
America
is
I'm,
sorry
on
Union
Bank
is
the
one
that
should
be
the
first
project
that
we
begin
working
on.
You
would
put
a
number
one
there
all
the
way,
through
whatever
we
have
now
five
or
six
or
seven
sites,
you'll
return
that
to
me
by
email
and
then
for
the
July
meeting.
C
I
will
have
this
all
tallied
for
you
and
then
you
can
either
adopt
that
at
that
time
or
wiggle
it
around
as
you
want,
and
that
will
be
your
work
plan
for
this
part
of
it
for
the
next
year.
Great.
The
other
part,
then,
that
you
want
to
think
about
in
your
work
plan
is
your
education
and
outreach
initiatives
and
some
other
things
and
I
know
dick.
You
had
some
discussions
with
me
on
this.
Do
you
want
to
lead
this
piece
of
the
conversation
on
initiatives
for
education
and
outreach?
Yeah?
Yes,.
B
I'm
gonna
pass
out
the
initiatives
and
within
those
you're
going
to
see
outreach
issues
the
outreach
ideas.
These
are
just
ideas
that
I
wanted
to
start
the
board
thinking
about
and
to
what
your
wishes
are
and
get
your
input,
and
so
the
first
one
that
we're
going
to
talk
about
actually
I'm
gonna,
give
you
another
handout
and
that
pertains
to
a
collaborative
collaboration
and
I
have
not
only
passed
one
out,
it'd
be
one
for
myself.
So
good.
Like
there's
one
picture.
B
Thank
you
so,
in
reference
to
the
first
one
right
here
that
I
talking
about
the
collaboration
I've
been
speaking
with
the
professor,
the
architecture
department
at
the
College
of
the
desert-
and
he
was
I
mentioned.
He
teaches
design
fundamentals
course
and
in
January
we've
been
talking
about
one
of
the
projects
that
they
would
be
very
interested
in
or
further.
B
Education
of
the
students
is
to
utilize
that
3d
computer
technology
to
model
buildings,
and
so
the
idea
is
to
create
this
assignment
for
the
students
and
that
art
board
would
submit
to
him
a
list
of
historic
properties
in
our
city
that
they
would
then
choose
10
out
of
the
ones
that
we
have
sent
them
and
that
they
with
those
properties
than
would
be
assigned
to
individual
students
to
create
the
three
3d
technology.
So
the
idea
is
then,
and
after
each
of
those.
B
B
These
beginning
lists
that
we
put
together
and
to
get
your
comments.
The
idea
is
here
to
is
to
get
the
students
involved,
they're
very
interested
and
by
the
way,
what's
really
interesting,
is
and
speaking
with
Professor
Guttag.
Now
he
puts
a
major
emphasis
on
preservation
with
his,
even
though
it's
not
taught
as
a
particular
subject
matter
topic,
he
really
does
put
a
lot
of
emphasis,
so
they
are
very
interested
in
working
with
us
and
where
we
can
do
some
collaborations
of
this.
This
type,
so
I
would
now
invite
the
board
mr.
Hayes,
so.
F
F
No
matter
what
kind
of
still
pictures
you
might
show
them
recreating
in
their
mind,
what
that
looked
like
and
what
it
might
have
been
as
a
resource
had
had
not
been
torn
down,
whereas
and
I'm
not
saying
that
it's
not
of
merit
to
do
something.
That's
still
there,
but
like
the
Bullock's,
the
Bullock's
was
an
amazing
building.
F
But
if
you
could
see
that
in
place
in
context
and
walk
around
it
and
fly
over
it
and
go
through
it
and
now
having
been
a
part
of
watching
that
process
happen,
you
really
do
have
to
create
the
building
to
make
like,
in
the
case
of
mine,
there
are
14
on
the
street.
Well,
you've
got
to
create
the
whole
building
first
and
you've
got
to
create
it
on
all
four
sides.
You've
got
to
create
it
on
the
inside.
F
You
basically
rebuild
it
before
you
can
place
it,
and
so
as
a
as
a
teaching
tool
for
something
that's
gone,
it's
huge
and
it
might
also
I
think
the
fact
that
the
more
we
get
kids
involved
in
this
process,
the
better
also
I
mean
and
I
will
I,
was
sort
of
going
to
add
in
the
the
other
part.
I
was
at
a
presentation
recently
where
I
literally
the
room
was
packed.
F
It
was
a
an
auditorium,
probably
250
attendees,
for
this
lecture
and
I
unfortunately,
was
one
of
the
youngest
people
in
the
room,
and
and
that's
there
literally
and
the
woman
who
was
speaking
actually
made
a
remark,
because
somebody
asked
a
question
about
getting
the
Millennials
involved
and
she
said
well.
If
there
were
any
in
the
room,
we
might
be
able
to
ask
them
and
they're
literally
in
one
woman
set
up.
I
am
out
of
this.
F
You
know,
and
so
I
think
it
is
critical
that
we
get
young
people
involved
in
this
process
and
they
also
understand
what
has
in
the
way
of
resources
what
we've
lost
and
I
think
a
number
of
these
on
our
demolished
list,
you
know,
are
tragically
gone
that
we
might
get
them
to
understand.
Oh
wow,
like
that
thing,
that's
downtown,
couldn't
place
this
really
cool
weapon,
Wilton
Beckett
building,
that's
you
know,
used
to
be
cool.
Just
a.
C
E
C
E
E
B
You
know
what
I
think
would
really
be
helpful,
if
maybe
you
and
mr.
Hayes
would
be
willing
to
meet
with
mr.
Veeck
cognizance.
We
can
start
it
out
and
maybe
show
this
as
an
example.
Yeah
I
I
think
that
the
students
would
really
I
think
this
would
be
a
great
introduction
and
yeah
and
I
think
they
would
be.
Very
welcoming
of
this.
B
B
We
have
certain
things,
moving
that
cut
that
could
even
expand.
So
I
think
that
this
is
a
great
opportunity
for
us
and
I
agree
that
I
think
this
demolish
list
and-
and
what
may
started
made
me
thinking
about
this-
to
begin
with,
I
saw
a
presentation
on
the
the
Maslow
house
in
Rancho
Mirage,
and
that
with
that,
when
that
was
destroyed
and
there
was
a
3d
technology
that
was
put
together
with
that
and
I'm
like
home,
like
this
great
idea,
mr.
A
Chair
I
liked
the
idea
of
the
demolished
buildings
being
the
priority,
so
my
question
would
be:
should
the
Racquet
Club
be
added
to
that,
since
that
was
once
again
such
a
big,
important
part
and
what
about
I
mean
you're,
gonna
laugh,
but
what
about
the
dollhouse
I
keep
reading
about
the
dollhouse
and
all
the
entertainers
that
went
there,
and
that
was
the
place
to
be,
and
nothing
has
ever
said
about
it,
and
it
might
be
really
interesting
to
bring
it
back
and
let
people
know
that
it
was
a
place
for
great
entertainment.
Here.
That's.
E
E
E
D
B
D
Mr.
chairman,
so
just
to
review
so
that
I
have
an
understanding
of
this,
that
we
would
make
some
suggestions.
You
know
to
the
professor
who
would
provide
that
to
the
students,
so,
for
example,
they
would
work
from
photographs,
they
would
work
from
floor
plans
like
if
I
won't
give
an
example
right,
free
house,
one
right.
B
D
A
F
D
F
A
A
C
E
F
E
Three
dimensions,
and
in
order
for
it
to
be
credible,
the
detailing
of
even
the
windows
needs
to
be
above
what
is
provided
in
most
3d
programs.
So
if
you're
gonna
add
you,
you
know,
thinking
of
the
spa,
the
spa
hotel,
one
student
would
be
given
the
portico
one
student
would
be
given
the
hotel
one
student
would
be
given
enough
and
then
they
would
as
a
as
a
team
put
it
all
together
because
of
the
amount
of
work.
E
E
It's
mirrored
on
the
site,
but
just
to
get
that
simple
building
is
a
couple
weeks
worth
of
work,
I
mean
you
could
just
do
it
and
you
can
do
it
in
Sketchup
and
it's
fine,
but
it's
not
historical
documentation,
like
you
probably
are
thinking
of
so
I,
would
pick
something
simple,
a
core
a
couple,
simple
ones
let
the
student
in
and
that
is
well
documented.
Let
the
students
you
know
pick
with
but
lights
their
fire,
and
then
you
know
I.
It
sounds
like
I'll
be
working
with
them
to
to.
B
C
And
I
think
that,
probably
when
you
speak
with
a
professor,
he'll,
probably
be
able
to
tell
you
what
is
the
application
or
program
in
which
he's
having
the
students
work
so
for
this
Sketchup
or
some
other
program
right
that
will
begin
to
give
bill
and
others
a
sense
of
what
is
the
level
of
detail
that
this
project
can
actually
achieve.
I.
Think.
C
You
were
talking,
then
the
focus
is
focusing
on
buildings
that
have
been
lost
or
destroyed.
I've
added
the
dollhouse,
the
chichi
lounge,
the
Tennis
Club,
building
on
barista
that
was
recently
lost
by
the
PSU
SD.
Also,
the
PSU
SD
administration,
building
the
Donald
Wexler
building
that
was
demolished
not
too
long,
both
to
put
up
their
music
building
free
house,
one
I
think
was
mentioned
and
then
I
know
it's
somewhat
quirky,
but
I
was
just
thinking
of
the
fashion
Plaza
bell
tower.
C
If
anybody
has
ever
seen
that
old
bell
tower
from
the
60s,
when
the
fashion
Plaza
was
first
built,
it's
a
very
kitschy.
You
know
if
it
was
one
of
those
that
was
still
standing,
we'd
probably
be
celebrating
it
as
part
of
our
mid-century
collection
of
architecture,
but
are
there
any
other
buildings
that
come
to
people's
mind
as
we're
sitting
here
talking?
If
the
theme
is
to
you
want
to
think
about
maybe
proposing
first,
those
buildings
that
have
been
demolished
or
lost?
Are
there
others
that
you'd
like
to
put
on
the
list
was.
F
C
B
B
D
D
B
C
Would
say
over
the
course
of
the
coming
couple
of
weeks,
if
anybody
has
anything
else,
a
building
that
you
think
of
that's
been
demolished
or
gone,
and
you
want
to
throw
it
on
the
list.
Send
it
to
me
as
an
email
and
I'll
work
with
dick
to
get
it
on
the
list.
I
keep
thinking
of
Gary
John's
lost
saved
an
endangered
lecture,
there's
so
many
buildings
that
he's
often
shown
on
that
that
maybe
there's
some.
If
we
talked
to
Gary
that
he
might
think
his
good
candidates
so.
B
E
3D
modeling
is
probably
going
to
be
the
new
tool
for
documenting
extant
historical
sites.
I
know
there
are
people
who
corporations
who
go
in
there
and
give
you
a
3d
scan
of
existing
buildings
as
the
first
run
of
this
of
this
program,
if
it
would
be
more
I
think
better
to
take
a
student
to
an
existing
building,
of
which
we
have
planned
and
say
document.
This
recreate
this
in
a
computer
form.
E
Yeah,
if
they're
not
sure
it
was
here,
someplace
else
that
I
heard
of
you
know
it's
one
thing
to
see
a
picture
or
a
drawing
of
a
building.
It's
another
thing
entirely
to
see
it
to
walk
through
it
and
and
if
you're,
if
you're,
asking
them
to
make
that
bridge
between
machine
right
now
is
living
in
our
computer
screens
and
the
buildings
that
are
being
built.
Look
like
it
anything
built
in
the
past
five
years
looks
like
Sketchup.
E
D
E
E
D
B
C
B
B
That
hotel
was
just
an
amazing
experience,
and
so
my
thought
was
well
if
we
could
even
do
some
local
things
and
select
at
least
two
that
we
would
like
to
do.
These
are
not
that
these
are
not
site
visits
that
we're
visiting
for
nomination,
but
they
are
sending
of
an
interest
in
an
education.
So
the
first
one
is
I,
don't
know
how
many
have
you
have
seen
the
Santorini
house
up
in
the
Mesa?
It's
pretty
pretty
amazing,
very,
very
unique.
B
The
second
one
particularly
intrigues
me
that
when
to
share
with
you
and
that's
the
the
actual
CEO
D
campus
in
Palm
Desert
as
a
collaboration
of
four
local
architects
in
1958,
which
was
John,
Porter,
Clark,
Frey,
East,
Williams
and
Wexler
working
with
master
planner,
John
wernicki
out
of
San
Francisco,
and
they
were
the
ones
that
created
the
the
actual
design
for
the
co,
D
and
Lance
O'donnell
has
had
tours
of
the
campus
and
which
is
really
quite
enlightening.
So
that's
one
that
I
wanted
to
that.
I
thought
would
be
a
really
interest
to
this
board.
B
B
D
D
A
B
The
Casablanca
Adobe
it's
on
trail
and
it's
otherwise.
E
C
B
One
to
get
you're
just
want
to
get
your
feelings,
your
opinion,
which
ones
you
like,
which
ones
you
don't
which
one
to
prioritize
that
maybe
that
would
be
the
way
to
talk
about
that.
Okay
yeah.
So
so
we
can,
you
know,
decide
on
which
ones
we
want
to
prioritize
all
right,
select
out
of
the
five
and
can
be
more
I.
Just
said,
the
focaccia
to
you
know,
I'm
just
happy
to
get
us
going
with
five
I
think
our.
B
B
It's
a
rather
informal
that
we,
this
have
meetings
four
times
a
year
and
there's
representatives
from
Indian
Wells,
Palm,
Desert,
La,
Quinta,
Rancho,
Mirage
and
Palm
Springs,
and
basically,
what
we
do
is
share
ideas,
how
we
approached
different,
unique
challenges
and
what's
happening
in
each
of
the
cities.
From
that
standpoint
and
Melissa
is
very
much
a
part
of
that
and
I
think
that
that
I
agree
with
you
that
be
a
great
way
to
do
this.
So
can
we
start
to
take
a
casual
informal
how
we
want
to
prioritize
the
and
select
at
least
two
I'm.
A
A
B
Yeah:
okay,
the
next
thing
that
I
propose
is
continuing
our
public
outreach.
You
know,
we've
come
a
long
way
in
the
last
few
years,
with
with
the
public,
but
by
keeping
preservation
out
front.
That's
what's
gonna
make
it
strong.
That's
gonna,
make
the
emphasis
to
the
city
and
to
to
the
council,
and
so
I
think
this
is
really
important,
anything
that
we
can
do
so.
B
B
It
would
go
to
Amy,
Blaisdell
or
publication
so
because
we
really
not
utilize
that
tool
as
much
and
also
we
could
utilize
it
more
for
the
symposium
I
do
use
social
media
I
have
used
at
a
great
deal
before
the
symposium
in
the
past,
like
but
through
the
organization's,
but
I
think
we
can
even
expand
that
further.
Every
chance
that
we
get
to
promote
it
on
know
many.
The
board
members
have
really
been
good
about
posting
that
as
as
well
another
one
is
I.
I
could
see
us
doing
a
quarterly.
B
B
B
B
A
C
Yes,
we
can
make
this
work
without
you.
We
are
the
creators
of
everything
else.
You
know,
okay,
things,
that
sort
of
take
top
priority
are
the
applications
that
we
see
so
that
we're
processing
people's
applications
as
timely
as
we
can
and
then
the
other
material
is.
You
know
it
fits
in
as
we
can
fit
it
in
okay,.
C
The
next
night,
some
material
that
we've
worked
with
there
was
a
lecture.
I
did
a
couple
of
times
a
couple
of
years
ago
as
part
of
the
library's
lecture
series
in
which
I
the
topic
of
it
is
Palm.
Springs
like
no
place
else
or
like
any
place
else,
and
I
gave
images
that
showed
things
that
we've
done
to
the
city
that
have
basically
diluted
our
distinguished
uniqueness
and
those
things
that
have
happened
that
actually
strengthen
our
uniqueness
and
it
brings
an
awareness
to
people
of
what's
happening
in
your
built
environment.
C
A
C
C
C
A
B
B
Also,
the
I
think
you
were
there,
Linda
and
I
know
I
was
or
the
SCP
F
and
they
had
the
Visitors
Bureau.
That
panel,
that
was
led
by
Robert
ember,
and
we
were
talking
about
the
economics
and
yet
was
a
blow
away
presentation
that
actually
Mary
Jo
Kent.
There
did
I'm
talking
about
the
economics
and
for
the
Visitors
Bureau
and
they
reach
out
internationally
and
all
of
those
ads
that
they
sent
out
a
great
percentage
had
to
do
with
architecture
and
preservation.
Here
in
the
city.
A
Presentation
day,
yeah.
C
B
C
You
know
I
wonder
if
something
like
that
might
be
an
interesting
thing,
also
to
present
here
in
an
abbreviated
way
when,
when
the
meetings
are
televised,
maybe
that's
a
small
tidbit
that
you
also
might
add
into
one
of
the
meetings
just
for
a
piece
of
easy
public
outreach.
I
didn't
see
it,
but
I've
heard
about
it.
Yeah.
That's.
B
A
B
B
B
Also
speaking
of
Commission's,
the
I
could
see
there
are
times
when
the
sustainability,
Commission
and
H
SBB
could
work
together,
particularly
talking
about
historical
preservation
and
green
building.
I
think
these
two
subjects
are
very
simpatico
with
each
of
the
organization's
and
I
would
very
much
like
to
see
us
come
up
with
something
that
we
could
have
a.
B
To
have
that
discussion
as
as
well
and
then
the
last
thing
is
the
CPF
workshop
in
2020
that
where
they
would
come
actually
and
they
would
produce
the
the
workshop
as
they
did
a
couple
of
years
ago,
and
that
would
be
a
separate
event
from
the
preservation
matters
annual
event,
so
bored
I'm,
thank
you
for
your
patience
as
I've
gone
through
this
list
and
I'd
like
to
now
had
any
other
ideas
and
additional
things
that
we
haven't
talked
about
to
the
list.
I
think
this
would
probably
keep
us
busy,
but
that
concludes.
C
B
D
Chairman
I
would
just
like
to
make
a
very
brief
comment
as
a
new
member
of
this
board.
I
am
so
thrilled
and
pleased
with
the
the
good
work
of
this
board,
and
it's
so
exciting
and
I
just
want
to
express
some
help
as
the
new
as
the
new
kid
on
the
block.
It's
it's
very
exciting
and
look
forward
to
all
the
future
endeavors.
So
thanks,
very
great
good
organization.
Okay,.
E
You
know
they're,
there's
a
petition
going
around
different
preservation
groups
in
as
far
as
I
know,
probably
everywhere,
in
Southern
California
being
initiated
by
a
private
citizen,
and
it's
about
the
reconstruction,
the
full
reconstruction
of
the
Presidio
and
barbar
I'm,
an
honorary
member
of
the
group
that
owns
that
or
manages
that
property.
It's
a
California,
State
Park,
managed
by
a
private
entity.
E
E
There
were
historic
buildings
in
the
way,
including
a
Buddhist
temple
that
had
been
part
of
the
Chinese
community
in
Santa
Barbara
for
about
50
years
all
torn
down.
In
order
to
reconstruct
what
I
considered
to
be
Disneyland
at
the
time
there
is
very
scant
evidence.
There's
the
foundations
were
left.
E
Which
at
the
time
and
still
to
this
day,
considered
to
be
contou,
talika
neck
sure
so
part
of
it
was
rebuilt
and
and
and
it
takes
up
a
good
part
of
a
block,
there's
four
more
blocks
that
this
group
wants
to
tear
down
in
order
to
reconstruct
this
reconstruction
in
a
frame
from
the
SPF
and
from
dick
about
oh
well,
I
got
this
letter.
I
need
to
do
more
research,
so
if
you're
part
of
a
group
that
received
that
information,
please
contact
me
before
you
sign
it.
E
A
mass
I've
asked
people
in
the
trust
what's
going
on.
Who
is
this
person?
Why
is
this
coming
up
right
now?
I,
don't
know
that
the
the
trust,
it's
a
historic
trust
for
the
Santa
Barbara
Trust
for
Historic
Preservation
would
be
the
lead
group.
I,
don't
know
that
they
know
this
is
going
on
so
I've
asked
people
and
and
I
just
started
asking
yesterday.
So
if
you
hear
something
and
you
you
want
to
respond
positively,
it
all
sounds
good
on
paper.
E
F
C
C
There's
nothing
that
we're
doing
about
it.
I
don't
know,
I've
not
contacted
or
spoken
with
anybody
at
the
college
in
their
facilities.
Department,
you
know
normally,
when
you've
got
a
state
agency,
they're
autonomous
from
city
oversight
and
I've
had
different
people
asking
me
as
well,
because
I
saw
this
faulted
plate
kind
of
unfold
and
then
would
be
revealed
as
they're
demolishing
it,
and
there
was
an
interesting
amount
of
chatter
on
Facebook
about
it.
Now,
I,
don't
know.
C
F
And
this
is
my
last
meeting
so
I
want
to
thank
all
of
you.
My
6-year
term
is
up.
It's
been
an
honor.
Thank
you,
Ken
and
thank
thank
all
of
you.
It's
been
an
amazing
experience
and
I've
thoroughly
enjoyed
it
and
thank
the
council
for
the
opportunity
and
continue
the
good
work
and
much
love
and
blessing
on
the
months
and
years
ahead,
but
thank
you.
I'd
sincerely
have
enjoyed
the
six
years.
It
has
really
been
quite
great
and
hopefully
have
not
been
too
much
of
a
thorn
in
people's
sides.
So
thank.
C
C
So
it
might
not
be
your
last
meeting
or
it
might
be
your
last
meeting
depending
on
what
we
hear
from
the
City
Council,
but
most
definitely
thank
you
for
your
service
and
knowing
how
much
time
it
takes
on
my
side
of
the
counter
to
put
all
this
stuff
together
for
you
to
read,
then
realizing
you
guys
have
to
read
it
all.
It's
not
lost
on
me
how
much
work
each
of
you
put
in
as
volunteers,
so
Thank
You,
Todd.
A
B
Yeah,
your
your
in-depth
questions,
the
way
you
your
logic
has
really
added
a
great
deal
and
things
that
sometimes
I'm,
like
after
I
hear
your
comment
like
why
didn't
I
know
why
didn't
I?
Think
of
that,
so
it
really
has
been
well
recognized
and
so
I
am
sure
we
will
find
ways
to
engage.
You
we've
already
found
one
with
the
co
d
students,
so
we're
not
going
to
just
let
you
slip
out
of
here
entirely.
So
thank
you
so
much.
It
really
really
has
meant
a
lot
to
all
of
us.
E
D
C
Want
to
also
just
add,
as
a
postscript
you
know,
you've
not
only
served
on
the
board.
You've
also
participated
in
the
process.
Yes,
by
submitting
two
of
your
own
properties
for
consideration
by
the
board,
so
you've
actually
gone
through
the
process.
You
understand
what
it
takes
to
write
a
report
and
what
it
also
takes
to
keep
a
building
in
a
in
a
historically
appropriate
way.
So
that's
interesting
that
you
sort
of
brought
experience
both
as
an
applicant
and
as
a
board
member
processing
thing
so
interesting,
yeah
and.
B
C
C
B
Back
right,
okay
and
I-
just
have
one
last
thing
just
received
this
morning:
a
an
email
from
our
friend
Linda
Patton
and
she's,
the
art
teacher
at
st.
Theresa's
church,
and
they
have
set
up
a
restoration
committee
and
they
have
a
list
of
projects
that
they
sent,
and
so
what
she's
asking
is?
Does
our
board,
of
course,
help
out
with
these
projects?
No
I
want
people
to
answer
that
one.
C
C
Kathy
Van
Horn
in
economic
development
to
see
you
know
how
far
that
program
extends
I,
think
it's
a
primarily
downtown
focused
grant
initiative
that
the
council
put
together
where
they
will
offer
modest
grants,
matching
funds
to
what
the
building
owner
will
put
forward
in
order
to
help
spruce
up
the
Front's
of
the
buildings
downtown,
but
have
her
contact.
Kathy,
Van,
Horn
and
Kathy
may
know
of
any
other
grant
projects
that
might
be
out
there
in
the
works
and.
C
B
D
Mr.
chairman,
so
I
have
two
sons,
almost
30
and
32,
and
they
were
students
of
Linda,
Penn
and
so
I
helped
them
build
models
when
they
were
in
fourth
fifth
sixth
grade-
and
you
know
anyway,
she's
a
great
teacher
and
has
been
doing
this.
You
know
for
a
long
20
years,
yeah
so
I
didn't
know
if
you
knew
it.
No.
D
C
C
Yet
enough,
so,
as
I
mentioned
earlier,
the
budget
that
the
City
Council
allocated
this
year
for
HSP
be
activities
was
fifty
three
thousand
five
hundred
dollars.
That
amount
has
been
spent
down
and,
as
you
can
see
in
the
chart
there,
the
California
Preservation
Foundation
conference,
the
city
gave
a
grant
toward
that
event
of
ten
thousand
dollars
the
Preservation
Foundation
membership.
That's
my
membership
in
the
organization,
the
Cornelia
white
house,
documentary
21-7
that
is
likely
to
bump
up
by
about
three
thousand
dollars,
because
we
have
a
change
order
on
that
particular
contract.
C
Historic
markers
we've
spent
that
much
in
this
year,
miscellaneous
mileage
preservation
month,
symposium.
Of
course,
that
was
the
symposium
cost
that
we
talked
about
printing
for
the
city.
Wide
contact
statement
is
thirteen
hundred
and
fifty
dollars
and
then
we're
trying
to
pull
together
an
encumbrance
at
the
last
City
Council
meeting.
The
mayor
requested
that
we
initiate
study
for
possible
class
one
historic
site,
designation
of
the
o'donnell
golf
course
clubhouse,
which
was
thomas
O'donnell's
residence
at
one
time,
and
then
we
have
an
encumbrance
of
about
twenty
five
hundred
dollars.
C
That's
part
of
the
Desert
Inn
marker
that
is
proposed
for
the
new
downtown
park,
so
that
told
us
of
the
forty
nine
six
that
you
see
and,
as
you
note
in
the
very
bottom,
there
Flint
has
identified
that
what
we
believe
is
going
to
be
the
funding
levels
for
the
next
two
years
will
be
the
same
as
we've
had
this
year,
and
so,
if
that
goes
through,
we
will
be
in
pretty
good
shape.
Any
questions
about
this.
Mr.
B
A
C
C
C
Tell
you
more
about
this,
as
we
go
is
envisioned
as
a
hotel
block
that
they
are
currently
thinking
of
as
being
three
storeys
in
height
a
series
of
what
would
be
more
akin
to
bungalows
or
cottages
that
are
in
cluster
units
that
are
in
the
sense
different
from
the
hotel
room
and
that
they
could
be
arranged.
If
you
had
a
group
of
individuals,
they
could
be
arranged
as
a
one
or
a
two-bedroom
cottage
that
you
could
rent
so
there's
a
series
of
those
kinds
of
units.
C
The
area
around
the
original
swimming
pool
would
still
continue
to
be
kind
of
the
social
gathering
hub
of
the
complex,
the
bamboo
room
and
the
restaurant
building,
in
which
it's
located
is
proposed
for
restoration
and
renovation.
The
ship
house
is
proposed
for
renovation
and
restoration.
The
if
you
know
the
site
well
from
when
we
last
talked
about
it,
there's
some
rather
nondescript
70s,
vintage
buildings
that
are
at
the
north
west
part
of
the
site
and
then
there's
some
of
the
new
construction.
That
was
part
of
the
project
that
started
10
years
ago.
C
That
has
just
been
sitting
there
half-finished
those
buildings
would
be
torn
down.
The
overall
concept
right
now
is
that
it's
being
done
as
I
say
like
as
a
Resort
Hotel,
which,
in
our
code
a
Resort
Hotel,
is
something
that
has
more
than
a
hundred
rooms
and
has
other
amenities
on
the
site.
So
it
would
include
the
restaurant
associated
with
the
bamboo
room,
which
would
also
have
a
cocktail
lounge
component.
There's
a
spa
component
to
it.
C
C
You
may
have
actually
had
some
contact
from
them
bill
I,
don't
know
because
you
live
in
racquet
club
cottages
west,
but
in
the
coming
weeks
and
months,
we're
anticipating
that
they
will
submit
what
is
called
a
pre
application
and
a
pre
application
allows
a
developer
the
ability
to
bring
in
a
project
without
it
going
through
tens
of
thousands
of
dollars
of
design,
development
and
vet
it
through
the
various
boards
and
committees
here
at
the
city
to
get
feedback
and
comments.
So
we
anticipate
that
they
will
probably
be
bringing
something
in
as
a
pre
application.
C
Maybe
next
month
and
according
to
the
conversations
we
had
yesterday,
we
may
be
requesting
to
pull
together
a
special
meeting
of
the
board
in
order
to
review
and
provide
comments
on
their
conceptual
design.
So
that's
kind
of
a
very
exciting
new
new
piece
of
information
on
the
racket
club,
which
has
been
really
just
sitting
there
for
decades,
slowly
falling
apart.
C
Current
zoning
on
the
site
is
r2,
which
is
medium
density,
residential
15
units
per
acre.
They
would
be
looking
to
probably
do
a
zone
change
to
r3
and
that's
primarily
in
order
to
accommodate
the
desired
increase
height,
because
our
two
limits
structures
to
24
feet
and
2
storeys.
Our
three
allows
a
little
bit
higher
greater
height
they'll
need
to
do
a
general
plan
amendment.
The
site
currently
has
a
split
general
plan.
C
Land
use,
designation,
part
of
it
is
medium
density,
residential
and
part
of
it
is
TRC
or
tourist
resort
commercial,
and
the
probability
is
that
the
site
would
be
run
to
a
complete
general
plan.
Land
use
designation
of
TRC,
because
the
whole
site
becomes
basically
a
tourist
resort
commercial
kind
of
site.
C
They
would
have,
of
course,
an
architectural,
a
major
architectural
application
that
would
be
part
of
their
application
materials.
Any
uses
that
would
be
proposed
on
the
site,
such
as
cocktail
lounges,
and
things
like
that
that
may
require
a
conditional
use
permit,
would
also
be
part
of
their
application.
C
So
the
pre
app
is
really
just
kind
of
throwing
the
conceptual
design
out
there
once
they
get
that
feedback
they'll
bring
that
feedback
in
work
their
design
and
then
make
us
formal,
submit
--all
application,
which
will
be
comprised
of
the
general
plan
amendment
the
zone,
change
the
major
architectural
and
whatever
see
you
peez
they're.
Looking
for
so
that's
big
news.
This.
C
Probably
probably
the
Schiff
house
they've
shown
in
the
current
plan
the
the
bungalows
they
currently
do
not
have
in
the
plan,
but
they
said
you
know,
that's
something
that's
up
for
discussion,
so
the
whole
thing
at
this
point
is
a
open
for
discussion.
They're
looking
for
input
from
the
community
and
I
and
I
think
that
what
we'll
see
through
the
coming
months
is
them
doing
more
outreach
to
both
the
city
and
the
neighborhood
organizations
that
are
adjacent
there.
C
C
C
Could
if
I
remembered,
but
right
now,
I'm
drawing
a
blank,
but
they
are
a
company
that
they
are
hotel
developers.
They
are
accustomed
to
developing
very
large
resorts
larger
than
what
this
one
represents
and
the
caliber
of
the
properties
that
they
have
shown
us
are
well
above
average.
So
it's
exciting
that
this
is
not
just
coming
in,
as
you
know,
all
shine
it
up
and
just
push
it
back
out
on
the
street
again
it
looks
like
they're
really
looking
at
making
a
sizable
capital
investment
into
this
site.
That's
very
exciting.
C
C
Will
be
out
of
the
office
beginning
the
13th
and
returning
on
the
26th
I'll
notify
you,
as
I,
usually
do
on
my
email
in
case
there's
any
issues
between
now
and
then
that
we
need
to
communicate
on
and
then,
of
course
we
are
dark
in
August,
so
there
may
be
actually
a
call
for
a
special
meeting.
If
we
do
this
pre
application
review
with
the
racket
club
developer
and
so
we'll
just
have
to
see
what
kind
of
availability
everybody
has
if
they
are
able
to
pull
that
together.
C
B
There's
no
additional
discussion.
I
will
adjourn
the
historic
site,
Preservation
Board,
to
its
regular
schedule,
meeting
on
Tuesday
July,
the
9th
2019
that
9
a.m.
in
the
large
conference
room
at
City,
Hall,
Thank
You
board
for
all
your
participation
today
was
really
great
for
sure
is
a
great
meeting.
So
thank
you.
So
much
have
a
great
week.
