A
In
favor,
good,
okay,
this
is
the
time
that
has
been
set
aside
for
members
of
the
public
to
address
the
public
Arts
Commission
on
items
of
general
interest
within
the
subject
matter:
jurisdiction
of
the
public,
Arts
Commission
and
agenda
items.
If
the
member
of
the
public
cannot
be
present
later
in
the
meeting
at
the
time.
Each
item
is
heard
by
the
Commission.
Additionally,
members
of
the
public
may
address
the
Commission
on
each
item
listed
on
the
posted
agenda
at
the
time.
The
item
is
heard.
A
Testimony
for
public
hearings
will
only
be
taken
at
the
time
of
the
hearing.
Any
person
who
wishes
to
speak
at
a
public
hearing
may
do
so
when
the
public
hearing
is
called.
Although
the
public
Arts
Commission
values
your
comments
pursuant
to
the
Brown
Act,
it
generally
cannot
take
any
action
on
items
not
listed
on
the
posted
agenda.
Five
minutes
is
a
sign
for
each
speaker.
A
C
There
we
go,
I
will
get
it's
a
pleasure
to
be
here.
My
name
is
Chris
Ramirez
CH
R
is
Ramirez.
Ra
mi
are
easy
and
I'm
a
Palm
Springs
residents,
as
of
March
2019
I,
recently
moved
from
New,
York,
City
and
I'm
just
here
to
sort
of
listen
in
and
learn
about
everything
that
you
guys
are
working
on
and
have
attended
a
few
meetings
in
the
past,
and
so
it's
cool
to
see
things
move
forward
and
how
everything
works
out.
So
thank
you
for
having
me
good.
C
I,
my
histories
have
been
sort
of
all
over
the
place,
I've
been
in
the
entertainment
world
and
the
music
world,
and
then
most
recently,
Tech
and
so
I
helped
start
and
launch
and
sell
a
company
in
New
York.
But
as
far
as
this
sort
of
environment
goes
in
college,
I
was
involved
at
UC
Irvine,
with
the
government
there
and
specifically
the
School
of
Social
Sciences
and
helping
push
things
along.
C
C
I
think
you
know
there's
a
lot
to
grow
for
this
city,
but
definitely
what
I
was
speaking
with
Commissioner,
Thomas
and
Ann
previously
before
this
was
just
briefly
about
how
Palm
Springs
has
been
so
timeless
and
beautiful
in
the
history
that
we
all
have.
You
know
no
one
come
to
love,
but
I
think
you
know
where
the
city's
going
as
a
whole
and
just
the
sort
of
I
think
vibrancy
of
it
is
a
really
cool
thing
to
be
and
sort
of
here.
A
part
of
what
you
guys
are
working
on
so
yep.
F
B
A
Okay,
thank
you
and
I
would
note.
As
you
all
know,
we
have
one
vacancy
on
the
commission.
I
checked
with
the
city
clerk
and
there
have
been
four
people
who've
applied
recently
than
this
year
and
there's
another
eight
that
are
left
over
from
2017,
but
I
haven't
shown
any
interest
since
then,
but
what
I
thought
we'd
do
is,
after
the
first
of
the
year,
asked
the
City
Council
if
they
would
set
up
some
interviews
and
help
us
find
a
new
commissioner.
A
C
A
A
And
take
a
look
and
if
there's
other
things,
let
us
know
also:
okay,
I
have
just
one
or
two
things
to
report.
One
is
that
we
got
the
first
of
the
reports
that
we'll
get
from
the
art
collective
that
are
going
around
and
surveying
all
the
artwork
and
cleaning
it
to
begin
with
and
then
telling
us
what
needs
to
be
done.
I
just
made
one
copy,
but
they
seem
to
be.
A
They
there's
always
some
scheduling
issues,
and
so
they
they're
gonna
keep
giving
us
a
revised
schedule,
but
they're
they're
trying
to
get
the
initial
cleaning
right
done
before
the
end
or
what,
if
not
the
end
of
the
year
shortly
thereafter
and
Commissioner
Yanni,
is
the
contact
with
that.
So,
if
you
see
anything,
you
see
anything
xin
dire
need,
and
the
other
thing
I
have
to
report
is:
oh
I
went
to
the
airport
yesterday
with
the
airport
administrator
and
Lois
scotches
and
Alicia
Thomas
from
the
museum
and
Al
Jones
who's.
A
The
chair
of
the
Airport
Commission,
and
the
first
thing
we
wanted
to
see
was
apparently
no
one
has
cleaned
the
art
in
the
airport,
probably
for
four
years.
The
the
last
time
we
signed
a
contract
with
the
museum
for
the
loan
of
there's
seven
pieces
that
belong
to
them,
was
in
2016
and
they're
supposed
to
be
paid
$1,500
a
year
for
someone
to
go
and
at
least
clean
and
wax
the
sculptures.
None
of
that
has
happened.
A
So
the
question
is,
we
need
to
see
if
perhaps
the
art
collective,
they
have
two
or
three
of
the
pieces
in
the
airport
on
their
list
already.
Maybe
they
can
do
the
others,
because
it's
scheduling
a
time
to
get
into
the
airport
is
difficult,
especially
during
the
season.
They
don't
just
like
people
wandering
around
they're,
very
security-conscious,
and
so
we'll
will
try
to
coordinate
that.
A
But
it
was
good
to
go
over
and
talk
to
the
airport
people
because
no-one's
really
other
than
installing
this,
the
crushing
inertia
piece
we
haven't
had
much
contact
with
them
in
a
long
time
and
they're
about
to
do
multi-million
dollar
construction
almost
all
of
the
spaces,
and
so
we're
either
going
to
have
to
move
some
art
or
replace
it.
Or
so
we
started
talking
to
them.
A
F
C
Okay
well,
like
know,
they're
very
controversial
is
pickleball
cards,
yes,
hi
I'm,
Sean
de
Thomas,
frevo
I
live
in
the
desert,
Highlands
gateway
a
States
community
and
a
couple
of
people
from
the
Arts
Commission
came
by
to
the
Black
History
Committee
meeting
to
inform
us
several
things
that
are
happening
into
the
community.
So
I
wanted
to
find
out
more
about
the
signage
that
was
going
to
be.
C
To
massage
help
I'm
excited
about
what's
going
on
in
the
area,
and
we
definitely
wanted
to
get
some
of
the
city
benches
in
our
neighborhood
and
more
art
installations.
So
I
was
here
representing
that
I'm.
Also
a
hardcore
pickle
baller,
so
forgive
me
and
I
would
definitely
want
to
beautify
the
community
as
much
as
possible
and
I
would
love
to
help.
C
Oh,
that
that'd
be
awesome.
I
have
a
Bachelor
of
Fine
Arts
in
theater
and
dance
and
I've
been
using
it
for
the
last
25
years
in
the
industry
as
an
actor
and
I
want
to
get
more
involved
with
the
arts,
anything
specially
beautifying,
you
know
getting
our
community
up
to
par
with
the
rest
of
the
neighborhoods.
That's
what
I
would
that's
what.
A
F
F
F
C
C
A
Okay,
we
have
only
one
action
item
and
then
I
thought
that
we
really
could
spend
the
rest
of
the
meeting
getting
caught
up
on
all
the
projects
and
then
planning
what
we
want
to
do
this
coming
year.
But
the
action
item
is
a
contract
with
the
Pompeians
cultural
center
to
manage
the
two
murals
that
we
previously
approved
and
maybe
Commissioner
Pritchard.
You
could
just
bring
everyone
up
to
wear
how
we
got
to
this
point.
A
F
Both
of
these
murals
Gabi,
Vasquez
and
Ann
faith
Nichols
for
ones
that
we
selected
from
our
30
by
30
art,
show
last
May
and
we're
working
on
finding
locations
for
them
over
the
last
few
months
and
very
generously.
The
Palm,
Springs
public
or
Cultural
Center
agreed
to
have
the
both
placed
on
the
north
wall
and
then
further
agreed
that
they
would
actually
manage
the
project
for
us,
making
it
much
easier
process
rather
than
having
the
artists
have
to
deal
with
the
city
waiting
for
checks
getting
their
individual
contracts
done.
F
A
And
so
and
they're
very
excited
they,
if
you
remember,
had
an
artist
in
residence
before
and
they
are
prepared
to
publicize
when
they'll
be
working,
the
farmers
market
is
there
every
Saturday
and
the
vintage
market.
Is
there
the
first
Sunday
of
the
month,
so
there'll
be
lots
of
people
around
watching?
What
goes
on
on
that
wall
again
further.
F
A
Sometimes
the
city
treats
someone
as
a
you
know,
so
they
were
paving
the
road
or
something,
and
they
want
a
million
dollars
worth
of
insurance
and
automobile
insurance
and
all
these
things
that
really
don't
fit
this
so
we're
hoping
if
we
do
it
with
an
organization
like
the
Cultural
Center,
that
they
will
make
sure
that
the
insurance
is
in
place
and
everything
and
the
city
can
write
them
a
check.
So
I
think.
E
This
is
exactly
this,
like
terrific
I
think
this
is
a
real.
If
this
works
out
it'll
be
a
great
model
for
partnerships,
it's
the
kind
of
thing.
We've
talked
a
lot
about
trying
to
maximize
a
small
amount
of
money
that
rise
every
year,
and
this
is
just
I
think
this
is
really
great.
It
feels
really
clean
and
easy
and
it
doesn't
burden
the
commissioners
with
overseeing
project
managing.
A
And
what
I'm
hoping
is
that
and
we're
going
to
talk
about
it?
When
we
talk
about
some
of
the
plans
we
have,
but
after
a
while,
it
would
be
nice
to
have
projects
originate
with
the
parks
or
the
neighborhood
organizations
and
come
to
us
for
the
funding,
as
opposed
to
are
going
searching
for
someone
to
sort
of
project
manager.
I
think
if
we,
if
we
tell
people
the
kinds
of
projects
that
we've
tried,
murals
and
benches
and
whatever
and
then
see
what
comes
back
so
I
think
we
can
do
that.
A
I
do
have
to
let
you
know
that
the
murals
themselves
were
on
the
consent
agenda.
For
the
last
city
council
meeting,
the
City
Council
has
to
approve
any
murals
placement
in
this
particular
case.
The
amount
that
we're
paying
is
less
than
the
amount
that
they
need
to
also
approve,
but
for
some
reason
and
I
I
was
not
at
the
meeting.
So
I
don't
know
exactly
why
outgoing
councilmember
Roberts
pulled
this
mural
off
of
the
consent
agenda
and
said
that
he
personally
did
not
like
having
two
murals
on
one
wall,
and
so
it
was
not
approved.
A
A
So
all
of
this
will
get
done
so
in
the
packet
is
the
draft
of
the
contract
and
the
only
important
part
for
all
of
us
to
look
at
is
the
this
this
last
two
pages,
and
it's
basically
that
they
will
be
managing
these
two
artists
and
residents.
They
hope
to
they
hope
to
have
the
work
being
done
during
the
film
festival,
because
their
site
for
the
Film,
Festival
and
so
there'll
be
lots
and
lots
of
people
there.
B
A
B
B
A
C
C
That
yeah
Davis,
but
in
this
case,
is
this
contract
is
gonna,
go
before
the
City
Council
to
so
it's
for
information
and
action.
Actually
it's
on
the
agenda
for
action
yeah,
but
so
you
know
what
is
going
before
the
council.
The
council
will
know
that
you
have
approved
it
primarily
the
terms.
This
is
a
standard
contract
that
they've
approved
many
many
times.
A
A
F
E
A
Finished
this
morning
here
among
the
first
to
see
it,
but
again
it
the
contract
terms
other
than
how
much
and
when
and
which
artists
are
all
by
the
city
attorney
and
I.
Keep
trying
to
explain
that
artists
who
are
standing
in
a
pit
do
not
need
automobile
insurance,
but
each
time
it
comes
back
into
the
contract.
So
so.
D
A
B
I
just
have
one
question
so
at
the
special
meeting
we
determined
that
we
have
the
mural
up
at
least
one
year
and
that
we
do
any
kind
of
work
on
it.
The
artists
would
do
that,
whatever
maintenance
for
a
year
after
which
this
contract
may
be
extended
by
mutual
agreement.
So
if
we
did
that,
if
we
said
okay,
we
want
it
for
two
years,
would
we
reef?
Would
we
add
more
funds
into
this?
Do
we
think
or.
A
Actually,
we
got
into
it
a
discussion
at
the
last
meeting
about
maintenance
and
I
had
thought
we
should
allocate
some
money
for
maintenance
for
taking
off
graffiti
and
things
like
that,
and
it
turns
out
that
that's
actually
a
big
category
in
our
budget,
so
anything
under,
for
example,
a
thousand
dollars
that
we
could
send
in
in
they
could
send
an
invoice
and
Jay
could
sign
it.
Anything
up
to
about
five
thousand
dollars,
which
would
be
a
lot
for
maintenance
can
go
to
David
ready,
so
we
don't
have
to
allocate.
We.
A
A
B
C
B
A
F
I
will
make
a
motion
to
approve
the
contract
for
the
Palm
Springs
cultural
center
for
$15,000
for
the
project
management
of
murals
by
Gabby
bells
Velasquez
and
aunt
Ayse
Nichols
on
the
north
wall
of
the
Palm
Springs
cultural
center
to
include
artist
fees,
materials;
well,
preparation,
insurance
and
maintenance.
Their.
C
A
G
G
A
G
G
Okay,
yes,
that's
the
first
thing,
so
this
is
a
report
since
just
comparing
from
June
the
numbers
from
June
to
the
numbers
we
have
right
now
in
December
we
have
a
571
people
who,
like
our
Facebook
page
and
we
just
saw
24%
grow
from
June
followers.
We
have
a
hundred
and
25
new
followers
and
in
the
graph
below
you
can
see
really.
What
is
engaging
people
is
video,
so
we
started
that
strategy
with
video
and
I
think
the
best
idea
would
be
to
continue
with
that.
Can
we
click
Next
else?
I'll?
G
G
Okay,
we
have
we
pass
a
two
thousand
followers,
2093
total
followers
and
we're
only
following
four
hundred
and
nine,
so
it
hasn't
been
just
because
we
follow
people
that
they
follow
us
back.
They
are
really
interested
in
what
we're
doing
and
it
has
been
a
hundred
and
thirty
percent
grow
just
from
October,
which
is
pretty
good.
People
are
excited
about
new
projects,
we'll
see
in
the
next
two
slides,
which
are
the
most
that
the
ones
that
have
the
most
engage.
G
G
G
G
That
was
a
very
successful
post,
but
we,
if
you
see
the
other
one
like
the
average,
should
be
between
1800
and
maybe
3000
and
then
comparing
to
where
we
started
I
think
it's
it's
very
good
and
if
you
see
everything
people
are
interested
in
when
we
announced
new
art
our
new
projects.
We
had
a
lot
of
reach
with
the
airport
installation
and
a
lot
of
reactions
and
comments.
Funny
things
like
the
baby
escape
from
the
pit.
People
love
it
and.
G
G
Okay,
thank
you
and
with
likes
we
used
to
have
an
average
of
maybe
sixty
five.
Forty
five
sixty
eighty
was
a
very
successful
post,
and
now
we
move
to
the
to
hundreds
of
number
and
likes,
which
shows
that
people
really
are
engaging
and
also
in
comments
where
we
would
see
for
maybe
four
comments,
now
we're
seeing
ten
twelve
fifteen
and
it
is
nice.
A
G
So
people
love
just
watching
those
behind
the
scenes,
as
well
in
the
perspectives
from
the
artists
and
the
process,
which
is
something
we
wanted
to
do
also
with
the
company
that
is
in
charge
of
the
maintenance
of
the
pieces
so
that
we
not
only
show
the
work,
let's
say
new
installations
or
are
these
the
process
of
selling
the
art,
but
also
the
maintenance
that
goes
that
go
son
behind
the
scenes
and
I
think
that's.
It.
G
Only
one
I
don't
know,
but
it's
one
of
the
most
fun
with.
E
Everybody
I
was.
E
If
you
have
like
some
goals
for
2020
like
in
terms
of
like
just
quantifying
like
you
know,
you
want
to
double
you
know
like
can,
when
you
try
to
gonna,
be
useful
for
us
to
cuz.
Now,
we've
been
working
with
you
for
a
couple
years
and
I'd
love
to
see
some
like
projections,
especially
because
well
we
have
a
couple
bigger
projects
coming
up
and
I
feel
like
you,
you
have
a
good
sense
of
what
people
respond
to
now
and
yeah.
E
A
In
January
we'll
do
that,
along
with
everyone
else,
sort
of
laying
out
their
projects.
I'd
also
like
to
see
more
coordination
with
our
website
and
I
did
actually
get
in
touch
with
Aimee
Blaisdell
who's,
the
communications
person
for
the
city
and
asked
how
he
could
get
the
the
previous
Instagram
and
Facebook
accounts
taken
down,
because
it's
confusing
one
is
PS
public
art
and
the
others.
Ps
public
arts
and
nothing's
happened
to
the
other
ones
and
also
what
we
could
do
to
the
city
website.
A
It's
hard
to
keep
that
current
and
it
as
long
as
it
has.
You
know
how
to
apply
and
whatever
on
it,
but
it
could
reference
our
own
website
so
because
it's
very
hard
to
find
you
know
people
do.
Certainly
artists
are
interested
in
finding
out
more
about
how
they
could
apply
or
whatever
so
I
think
we
have
to
steer
them
to
the
website
as
much
as
we
can.
Yes,.
G
B
B
B
That
could
be
something
built
up
on
our
website,
so
we
could
really
have
a
history
of
all
these
like
started,
adding
a
history
of
what
we've
been
doing
but
make
it
really
current
that
you
know
in
the
Instagram,
whatever
URLs
for
things
it
could
reference.
You
know
that,
like
a
bigger,
bigger
anything
have.
E
E
My
content
I
think
it's
a
great
idea.
I
I
would
like
to
propose.
Maybe
if
we
do
that,
maybe
we
can
make
something.
That's
more
like
a
PDF
I
like
that
I
like
the
city's
website,
because
you
can
find
the
information
you
need.
If
there's
not
a
lot
of
it
or
the
information.
That's
there
is
accurate
and
it's
it's
it's
up-to-date.
You
couldn't
find
the
meeting.
You
know
you
can
find,
but
a.
E
If
we
can
I
know,
we
do
sort
of
annual
reports
at
the
end
of
the
year
on
like
a
project,
but
if
we
can
make
like
a
PDF,
you
know
or
something
that's
like
clickable,
that
kind
of
summarizes
the
project
that
can
be
like
posted
in
other
places
like
really
easily,
instead
of
having
to
like
format
a
webpage.
You
know
that.
A
E
A
A
E
G
D
A
A
C
A
Request
that
it
be
one
of
the
carryover
members
so
that
they
would
know
sort
of
what
we're
doing,
because
the
the
to
the
mayor
and
Councilman
Roberts
both
are
off.
So
instead
of
getting
someone
who's
just
been
elected
to
the
City
Council,
if
we
could
have
you
know
one
one
or
more
of
the
existing
ones,
that
would
be
nice
that
might
get.
D
G
E
A
G
A
A
A
B
A
They've
been
working
on
and
where
they
see
it
going
and
I
brought
this
paper
and
I
thought
you
know
maybe
leave
and
you
know
we're
we're
in
it
in
a
comment
section.
So
it's
like
having
a
study
session,
because
none
of
this
needs
to
be
voted
on
we're
just
so,
but
let's
start
with
Commissioner
Merrigan
a
Gladstone,
because
we
do
need
to
just
see
how
we're
doing
on
Gerald
Clark
sure
so.
E
On
so
tom
freshener
yani
has
been
since
october
of
been
reaching
out
to
the
various
neighborhood
and
community
groups,
and
we've
made
contact
with
most
of
most
of
the
groups.
Pressure
Arianny
did
confirm
that
he
reach
out
to
a
few
of
the
committee
groups
that
didn't
hear
back.
So
I'm
going
to
be
following
up
with
that.
One
of
those
groups
is
desert,
Highlands
Unity
Center
was
there
were
two
individuals
whose
emails.
E
Maybe
we
have
the
incorrect
information
for
those
individuals,
but
we
did
reach
out
to
two
individuals
and
didn't
hear
back,
but
we
are
going
to
be
following
up
and
making
sure
that
we
go
to
all
the
community
groups
and
neighborhood
groups
and
talk
to
them
about
the
project.
In
terms
of
the
project
itself.
On
Tuesday
I
went
with
Ernesto
Selina's.
E
The
assistant
director
means
the
facilities
for
the
city
who
works
with
Stacy
shavers,
the
director
of
that
department
and
commissioner
ameri-ghen
to
revisit
the
sites
and
confirmed
that
they,
the
proposed
sites,
would
be
feasible
for
Ernesto
and
his
team
to
do,
and
he
confirmed
we
did
made
some
slight
adjustments
to
the
sites.
I
had
a
conversation
with
general
Clarke
today
to
confirm
the
design
of
the
signs
and
to
confirm
those
locations.
E
He
wants
to
revisit
some
of
the
sites
again
to
sort
of
get
those
tweaks
down
before
he
places
the
order
for
the
signs
and
I'm
expecting
to
have
that.
Those
final
images
and
final
report
next
week,
next
Friday
so
I,
will
have
that
report
and
I
can
send
it
to
all
the
stakeholders.
The
community
groups,
the
city
people,
will
be
involved
in
the
installation.
This
Commission
and
Tracy
Merrigan
is
Commissioner.
Merrigan
will
be
going
to
parks
department
as
well
for
their
meeting
on
the
23rd
to
you
know.
Share
these.
E
This
confirmed
detail
information
I've
also
been
in
conversation
with
email
conversation
with
I
forgot,
her
name
and
the
parks
department.
Since
the
old
ferrata
it
was
Cynthia
Alvarado,
so
she
will
also
be
received.
I
will
be
distributing
this
information
next
week
and
then
and
then
will
likely
because
of
the
holidays,
have
to
continue
our
conversations
with
the
neighborhood
groups
in
at
those
January
meetings.
E
E
E
In
addition,
right
I
talked
to
the
artist
today
and
he
is
very
keen
to
engage
with
neighborhoods.
Can
you
group
students,
whoever,
and
so
we
I
had
I,
think
we
had
talked
about
this
in
the
past
a
little
bit
about
it?
Maybe
we
could
do
some
bird,
he
could
do
some
bird
songs
are
activate
these
sites,
where
these
signs
are
so
he's
very
keen
to
do
that,
but
probably
after
his
exhibition
opens
because
oh.
E
A
A
E
A
E
E
E
Horticultural
society
also
expressed
that
the
horticultural
society
is
really
interested
in
making
interested
in
making
sure
that
a
lot
of
those
traditional
medicinal
plants
that
have
seen
better
days,
they
seem
that
they've
been
picked
and
kind
of
decimated
that
we
can
maybe
replenish
them
as
well,
depending
on
the
Gerald,
was
really
excited
to
hear
about
a
lot
of
those
plans
that
should
know
that
those
were
the
ones
that
were
there
and
he'll
kind
of
holiday,
selecting
some
of
the
ones
that
are
already
planted
there.
So
yeah.
E
What's
nice
about
a
lot
of
these
parks
is
that
several
lumic
built
in
amphitheaters,
like
the
james,
so
Jesse
Center,
has
has
kind
of
built
in
an
amphitheater.
That's
facing
this
sort
of
beautiful
open
field.
The
Visitor
Center
also
has
one
kind
of
built
in,
and
even
the
Wellness
Park
has
has
a
labyrinth
and
has
sort
of
these
spaces
where
you
can
kind
of
gather
in
and
natural
gathering
spaces.
I
should
also
mention
that
at
this
point,
gel
is
actually
is
envisioning.
The
visitors
center.
E
Is
this
interesting
place
to
locate
yourself
so
there
that
was
to
have
this
cardinal
directional
signage
and
he's
now
conceived
of
the
project
in
a
way
that
he
wants
to
sort
of
put
it
in
the
round.
So
you
would
stand
in
the
middle
and
orient
yourself
and
I
think
that
will
allow
us
to
I
know.
Some
of
you
had
expressed
concern
about
wanting
to
put
a
sign
explaining
kind
of
the
whole
project
somewhere,
and
we
think
actually
that
would
be
a
terrific
you.
E
B
B
B
B
We
replace
the
plants,
one
of
our
desert,
Court
friends,
a
desert,
Hort
he's
the
one
who
designed
that
original
garden,
and
she
really
wants
that
to
be
to
go
back
to
what
it
was,
because
the
plants
are
either
dead
or
they're
missing
or
they're
wrong.
The
wrong
plant
so
yeah
so,
and
that
could
be
on
our
garden.
That
actually
could
be
a
garden
on
our
garden
tour,
which
would
be
really
cool
and
that's
kind
of
where
we
started
with
our
garden
tours
15
years
ago.
So
we'll
be
our
15th
anniversary
and
a
nice.
B
D
E
Not
all
artists
are
actually
great
teachers
and
he
is
a
great
teacher
and
he's
he
just
he
really
is.
He
really
feels
the
land
and
he
really
like
gets
this
this
the
place
he
gave
and
even
though
he
lives
on
the
other
side
of
it,
though
I
mean
he's
very
familiar
with
this
landscape
and
he
just
he's
very
open
to
it.
B
A
A
That
runs
through
and
April
is,
has
been
designated
by
the
California
State
Arts
Commission,
as
arts
and
culture
month
and
I.
Think
you
know
if
we're
gonna
have
a
street
fair
or
something
might
be
fun
to
see
what
we
can
fit
to
that
April
timeframe-
and
you
know
maybe
some
of
these
other
and
it's
Earth's
today
in
there
too,
so
I
just.
C
A
A
B
B
B
B
B
A
A
E
A
E
A
There
was
the
artist
named
Wallace
cobarde,
who
wanted
to
wrap
around
in
front
of
the
city
hall
and
I
got
in
touch
with
him
several
months
ago,
and
he
said
he
was
busy
and
that
towards
the
end
of
the
year
he
would
give
us
a
budget
and
we
can
decide
if
it's
something
that
we
want
to
do
so
I'll
see
if
I
can
get
that
something
we
could
look
at
in
January
and
you
see
if
we
can
do
John
in
the
case
of
John,
Moores
and
Jeff
pick.
F
There's,
actually,
you
have
two
of
the
other
artists
from
the
30
by
30
show
Richard
Becker
did
boya,
which
is
the
stainless
steel
baby,
and
the
floaty
I
would
like
to
us
give
us
some
consideration
to
moving
forward
with
doing
installation
with
him
one
of
his
thoughts,
the
whole
children
that
are
about
36
to
48
inches
high
I
forgot
to
bring
the
budget
with
that
I
believe
that
comes
at
around
the
$18,000
budget.
So
it's
a
very
sort
of
manageable
number
for
us.
F
B
B
C
A
F
Get
lost
so
we
need
to
find
a
good
location
for
it,
and
then
the
other
artists
is
Bijan.
Who
did
that?
We
are
one
proposal
and
I've
also
been
in
touch
with
him.
He
understands
it's
a
very
large
project
because
it
comes
in
above
75,000,
so
it's
something
that's
worth
considering
it,
but
again
it's
just
not
going
to
move
forward
quickly,
but
I
would
like
us
to
and
I'll
start
looking
for
location
choices
for
the
Richard
Becker
piece.
I.
F
A
Part
of
it
or
what
we
need
to
do
is
after
I
mean
I,
think
doing
these
30
by
30
projects
has
been
good
and
we've
tried
some
new
things,
but
going
forward
I
think
we
need
to
find
a
site
that
wants
something.
First,
you
know
instead
of
shopping
these
things
around,
because
it's
been
I
mean
I.
Think
I
hope,
I
hope
that
the
people
on
arenas
will
do
some
things
there,
but
it's
like
chicken
and
egg
and
I
ask
I.
E
G
D
E
A
E
That
we
have
these,
you
know
I
know
past
commissioners
have
individually
had
good
relationships
with
certain
neighborhood
groups,
but
you
know
we're
just
kind
of
starting
fresh
and
it's
actually
a
nice
opportunity
for
us
to.
Like
think
about.
You
know,
income
think
about
the
kinds
of
projects
neighbors
want
to
see
in
conversation
with
new
ideas
and
I
mean
personally
I.
Think
it's
it's
just
more
beneficial
and.
A
It
was
very
interactive,
but
if
we
throw
out
some
of
these
ideas-
and
we
find
someone
who
wants
to
work
with
us,
then
I
think
it
makes
more
sense,
I
think
for
the
30th
year
and
throwing
out
all
those
ideas
was
great,
but
we
may
not
be
able
to
do
each
of
them
cuz,
but
at
the
time
we
picked
them,
we
didn't
ask
them
for
a
budget.
We
just
said
we
really
liked
your
idea,
and
unfortunately,
some
of
the
artists
thought
that
that
meant
we
promised
to
do
it.
B
B
F
F
The
kid
and
the
Virgin
hotel
site
he's
always
been
keen
on
having
a
mural
on
the
north
wall
of
the
West
Elm
building
and
he's
also
been
very
keen
on
the
south
facing
wall
of
the
Hyatt,
because
it's
a
very
large
overlooking
the
parking
garage
and
the
new
upcoming
downtown
park
so
come
across
an
artist
who
goes
by
the
bumblebee
loves
you
which
I
showed
Commissioner
Murray
last
week.
Can
we
pull
this
website
up
on
the
screen.
F
There's
a
couple
of
things:
if
we
are
interested
in
trying
to
pursue
a
collaboration
with
Michael
Bryan
at
the
height
people
and
the
Arts
Commission
to
do
a
mural
on
the
side
of
the
height,
which
is
a
possibility,
this
particular
artist.
It
would
come
in
at
about
a
fifty
thousand
dollar
level,
but
we
could
also
consider
perhaps
the
sidewall
of
the
parking
structure
is
it's.
His
childlike
figures
would
be
very
suitable
for
next
to
the
new
downtown
park,
so
it
would
be
a
very
accommodating.
F
No,
it's
the
thing.
That's
this
and
I
get
again
and
that's
a
separate
entities
who
would
have
to
work
with
their
management
team,
but
it's
something
I
would
pursue
through
connections
with
Michael,
Braun
and
grit,
because
he's
knows
who
the
management
is
and
has
relationships
with
them
that
it's
something
that
we
wanted
to
pursue.
F
A
A
B
B
B
I
thought
that
was
a
great
idea.
I
was
like
okay,
if
you
can
have
it
on
museum
way,
why
don't
you
instead
of
having
it
in
a
parking
lot?
Why
not
ask
the
museum
if
you
could
use
their
parking
lot,
but
they're
really
particular
about
the
finish
of
the
material
that
they're
gonna
chalk
art
on,
so
they
rejected
the
museum
parking
lot.
B
So
I
didn't
want
to
approach
the
museum
until
they
looked
at
it
and
then
they
rejected
the
parking
lot.
Also
so
they're
gonna
cancel
and
wait
a
year
till
next
year,
okay,
but
we
won't
be
able
to
have
any
events
or
anything
on
Museum
way
right
for
from
January
through
next
to
next
January.
Definitely.
C
B
B
They
want
it
downtown
because
they
want
want
it
downtown.
I
guess
the
artists
last
year
were
didn't
feel
like
they
got
very
much
coverage
and
I.
Guess
they
bring
artists
in
from
all
over
the
place.
So
they,
if
they
don't,
have
a
festival
that
draws
people.
Then
artists
are
not
going
to
come
to
it
to
do
their
work
and
then
I
guess
it
isn't
a
big
moneymaker
for
them.
So,
okay.
B
B
A
E
Organized
that
have
people
coming
and-
and
you
know,
I
what
I
love
I
like
the
I
love
street
fairs,
but
I
love
the
idea
of
us
really
thinking
about
having
more
like
mobile
celebrations
and
of
the
projects
that
we're
doing
over.
You
know
over
time.
I
just
think
you
know
art
is
it's
not
the
static
thing?
That's
just
always
a
monument,
but
it's
in
one
place
and
and
I
think
our
programs
can
reflect
that
which.
G
E
You
know,
even
just
we
can
even
anchor
can
start
with
like
say,
maybe
doing
something
on
a
second
Sunday.
When
we
know
the
museum
is
open,
you
know
maybe,
and
then
maybe
there
can
be
an
extension
where
there's
like
concurrent
activities
happening,
certainly
in
the
springtime.
That's
always
that's
always,
there's
always
kind
of
something
hiding
in
March
and
April
on
Sundays,
in
some
of
the
parks
on
the
weekends
in
the
park.
A
In
addition
to
going
to
the
parks,
Commission
meeting,
there's
the
next
sort
of
general
meeting
of
1ps
is
January,
9th
and
so
I
think.
In
both
cases
it
would
be
nice
if
we
could
make
up
the
kinds
of
projects
that
we
could
offer
to
and
as
Barr
says,
feed
into
their
programs
and
a
lot
of
the
activities
that
Sara
did
for
the
street
fair
would
work
wonderfully
at
another
street.
Fair
I
mean
there
are
other
part
rules.
A
A
C
A
F
D
D
C
A
Part
of
what
we
need
to
do
concurrently
and
I'll
sort
of
tried
to
do
this
part
is
at
this
kind
of
a
gray
area
of
what
we
can
spend
this
public
art
money
on
other
than
actual
works
of
art.
We
can
do
things
that
publicize
them
and
that
encourage
interaction
with
them
and
stuff
we're
not
like
an
Arts
Commission
that
can
give
a
grant
for
a
theatre
piece
or
something.
A
So
we
need
to
what,
if
it's
connected
to
an
art
project,
so
it
is
making
it
so
activating
active,
sculpture
or
installation,
and
we
are
allowed
to
do.
You
spoken
word
about
a
piece
of
art
all
right
and
we've
done,
and
we've
done
at
the
Museum
they've
done
some
projects
that
were
related
that
we're
on
Thursday
nights
as
part
of
our
sort
of
blanket
funding,
and
that
were
spoken
word
and
that,
were
you
know.
Some
did
some
interesting
because.
A
C
Again,
just
sort
of
in
the
spirit
of
like
goals,
and
things
like
that,
and
so
we've
talked
so
much
about
the
tahquitz
canyon,
our
pads
and
I
real
having
discussed
them
so
much
and
having
seen
them
and
walked
to
them
and
seen
the
size
of
that.
To
me,
it
was
like
crying
out
for
a
real
RFP
and
a
you
know
like
a
call
for
artists
and
that
it
should
be
done.
As
one
thing
you
know
like
a
unified
thing,
so
I
would
that's
like
my
request
is
in
the
sense
of
like
that.
I
think.
C
C
C
A
C
A
A
B
B
B
A
B
A
C
Out
I
feel
like
we
had
a
good
experience,
but
the
call
for
artists
for
the
30
by
30,
you
know
so
like
building
I
mean
I
know
this
is
a
much
bigger
project,
but
it's
like
I
know
we
can
get
the
word
out
and
we
can
solicit
things
you
know
and
and
then
the
others
we
have
to
make
have
a
call
for
qualification.
You
know
make
sure
that
people
are
qualified
to
do
the
piece
and
stuff
like
that,
and
you
know
just
do
it
so.
C
A
D
A
A
E
E
A
That's
a
good
place
to
do
it
because
I
think
between
the
museum
and
the
park
there's
a
lot
going
on
over.
There
I
think.
We've
we've
made
an
impact
in
downtown
if
we
start
reaching
out
to
parks
and
neighborhoods,
but
as
the
City
Arts
Commission
to
have
something.
That's
really
your
your
introduction
to
Palm
Springs
would
be
great
and
that
we
could
maybe.
C
It's
sort
of
really
correct
came
up
from
organically
and
things
like
that,
and
it
was
a
spur,
a
long
process.
So
that's
kind
of
what
I
met
you
know.
So
maybe
we
work
with
one
of
these
project,
but
you
know
it's.
You
know
the
RFP
is
may
be
handled
by
there's
anything,
but
that's
all
the
kind
of
stuff
that
we
would
want
to
work
out,
but
I
mean
my
point
was
just
like.
I
would
like
to
see
that
project.
C
A
D
For
the
past
few
years,
the
public
Arts
Commission
been
very
supportive
during
Black
History
Month
and
also
with
the
Martin
Luther
King
celebration.
Community
celebration
and
the
community
is
very
thankful
for
that.
For
example,
for
two
years
we
had
an
art
exhibit
at
the
st.
Paul's
Church,
which
was
very
successful
and
well
attended
on
Thursday
nights
and
Maura
can
say
more
about
this.
If
we
have
more
time,
we
have
programming
scheduled
during
Black,
History
Month.
D
So
to
get
to
the
point
and
to
say,
thank
you
I'm
wondering
if
we
can
allocate
some
funds
as
we've
done
before
for
Black
History
Month,
perhaps
anywhere
from
500
to
2,000
dollars.
We've
got,
for
example,
Russell
and
I've,
and
there's
a
Miss
Deborah
Macduff.
It
was
an
artist
and
we,
after
our
conversation
last
night
at
the
James
old
Jesse
center,
perhaps
invite
her
to
do
some
education
piece
or
program.
D
We
can
certainly
have
more
conversations
about
that,
but
we'd
like
to
pay
her
also
I've
heard
from
the
Palm
Springs
International
Dance
Festival
who's
interested
in
participating
during
Black
History
Month
with
the
Black
History
Month
committee,
and
perhaps
doing
something
at
the
Museum.
Some
kind
of
program,
if
not
the
Galen
as
on
a
Thursday
night,
perhaps,
but
so
we
need
some
funding
or
it
would
be
appreciated.
It's.
A
E
D
We
met
last
night
and
we've
already
talked,
we've
met,
I,
don't
know
if
Russell
I
always
want
to
say
Richard
Russell
wants
to
say
more,
but
we're
saying
I'm
saying
thank
you
and
perhaps
if
we
could
get
some
funding
if
saying
that
right
to
pay
the
artist
anywhere
from
500
to
a
million
dollars.
Oh
okay,.
A
F
A
F
Just
in
in
this
discussion
from
her
January
meeting,
we
should
have
as
an
action
item
approving
a
set
budget
once
we
have
them
in
an
idea
of
what
the
ingredients
will
be
for
the
celebration.
For
example,
the
artists
that
Commissioner
Murray
and
I
met
with
Deborah
Macduff
is
working
on
this
spectacular
art
installation
project
and
is
prepared
to
talk.
So
if
we
don't.
F
A
D
C
E
Much
so,
okay,
so
I'm,
trying
to
sort
of
locate
I
mean
operate
generally.
I
would
support
the
the
Commission's
support
of
a
black
visual
arts
program
with
Black
History
Month
to
support
you
know,
artists,
artists
and
educational
engagement
in
the
city
of
Homs
race.
Just
generally
so
because
I
know
the
Black
History
Month
committee
does
of
projects
and
events
at
a
number
of
different
sites,
so
I
think,
broadly
speaking,
I.
E
Member
of
the
commission
I
do
that.
Okay
in
terms
of
what
the
museum's
the
current
conversation
with
the
Black
History
Month
Committee,
is
that
the
museum
has
identified
at
February
6,
which
is
a
free
Thursday
as
a
very
good
day
to
do
to
sort
of
launch
Black
History
Month,
and
there
is
space
available
for
like
performance
program,
live
program,
music,
educational
conversations.
E
There
Poly's
some
workshops
plan
for
that
weekend,
the
following
week
with
Tyson
Knight,
who
has
been
an
artist
that
this
commission
is
engaged
with
so
for
the
whole
month
there
will
be
a
lot
of
activations.
But
in
terms
of
like
a
particular
I
know,
the
museum
is
very
keen
to
develop
a
program
partnership
with
the
Black
History
Month
committee,
the
city
of
Palm
Springs
and
February
6,
and
it's
a
very
good
date
for
just
to
realize
how.
A
What's
actually
happened
is
that
yeah
and
it's
there's
so
many
changes
at
the
museum,
it's
hard
to
sort
of
say
how
it's
working
now,
but
the
Education
Department
identified
five
or
six
programs
on
Thursday
nights
that
were
co-sponsored
with
us,
but
we're
sort
of
a
part
of
our
$50,000
contribution.
I
think
it
says
in
the
contract,
four
or
five
programs,
and
they
haven't
cost
that
much
extra
that
the
museum
has
said
that
they
you
know
they
couldn't
do
it
as
part
of
their
program
anyway.
A
So
I
think
we
should
start
with
what
the
museum
can
do
and
if
there's
something
that
everybody
really
wants
to
do
and
there's
a
shortfall,
we
can
probably
give
some
money
to
the
museum.
What
we
don't
want
to
do
is
go
try
to
pay
individual
artists
to
do
this.
One
thing
because
I
mean
they
ten
page
contract
anyways
well,.
E
Exactly
but
it's
there
an
opportunity
so,
for
example,
say:
there's
an
artist
who's,
doing
something
at
the
Museum
and
I
mean
you
know,
museum
kind
of
just
paid
for
the
second,
but
then
that
artist
wants
to
do
a
workshop
at
the
James
of
Jesse
Center
as
additional
sort
of
educational
opportunity.
Is
that
something
that
we
as
a
commission
could
support
as
a
sort
of
we.
C
C
E
A
D
C
C
E
D
A
A
A
D
G
C
D
C
C
A
C
A
A
C
A
C
A
D
Second,
and
last
thing
is:
we
had
talked
about
Commissioner
Yanni
and
I
took
a
look
on
tram,
View
Road
we've
had
this
discussion
now
for
some
time
of
putting
a
sculpture
at
the
entrance
there.
Mr.
Yanni
Commissioner
Yanni
brought
up
the
piece
you
discussed
the
baby
and
the
man
or
whatever
you
know,
and
my
question
was
what
I
won't
say
that.
D
D
C
D
C
Some
properties
there,
but
then
I
have
had
conversations
with
the
individual
who
owns
property
and
we've
talked
about
the
sign
and
I.
Think
oh,
your
signs
on
my
property
in
you
know,
wasn't
a
issue.
It's
it's
something
I
would
have
to
confirm.
So
what
will
be
the
best
way?
So
should
we
try
and
identify
a
spot
and
then
see
whose
land
like
what
what
would
be
the
best
way
to
move
it.
C
D
D
A
E
E
C
A
A
C
C
A
D
A
So
if
you
can,
you
know
just
come
up
with
something
that
we
can
approve,
but
because
of
the
way
that
they
they
write
our
budget
anyway,
they
put
a
big
chunk
of
money
and
maintenance,
which
means
that
we
don't
have
to
start
from
scratch.
We
can
just
say:
oh,
this
gets
charged
to
maintenance.
So
that
means
for
write
for
a
mural,
but
pretty
you
know
for
a
program.
I
mean
we
have
these
categories.
A
D
B
B
A
B
D
E
D
E
A
D
A
C
I
think
it
might
be
a
process
and
I
think
the
community,
it's
obviously
very
attached
to
that.
Mural
I
was
just
up
there
myself
last
week
and
I
mean
it's
such
a
fantastic
mural,
but
it
is
in
terrible
shape.
So
maybe
part
of
the
process
is
that
we
need
to
let
it
go,
but
we
also
need
to
have
a
plan
to
do
something
out.
You.
