I
had
no
idea
that
I
would
be
the
author
of
four
books
later
on
in
life,
but
that's
the
way
things
evolved.
So
I
just
wanted
to
see.
What's
on
your
mind,
what
you're
doing
right
now,
things
that
are
important
to
you
and
I
as
a
former
city
commissioner,
for
three
years
on
the
former
chair
of
the
Public
Art
Commission
I,
wanted
to
thank
you
for
your
service.

Good
afternoon,
members
of
the
board,
as
what
was
provided
to
you
in
your
packet,
was
the
updated
final
concept,
rendering
of
the
well
wood
back
patio
upgrade
and
just
to
give
you
a
quick
overview.
What
you
had
provided
was
a
simplified
concept.
In
addition
to
some
comments
that
the
subcommittee
had
I
have
invited,
David,
volts
design,
he's
the
lead
architect,
landscape
architect,
for
the
patio
design,
so
I'm
gonna
pass
it
over
to
him.
We
actually
have
full
size
drawings
if
you'd
like
to
get
up
and
take
a
look
at
them.
H
E
I
I
Unfortunately,
we're
not
moving
those
air
conditioner
components
right
now,
so
we've
come
up
with
a
scheme
to
try
to
hide
those
a
bit
and
and
and
then
the
planting
is
somewhat
simplified.
You
know
we
don't
have
a
whole
lot
of
plants.
That's
we're
really
relying
on
the
trees
to
give
us
the
green
in
the
space.
But
then
we
chose
a
couple
of
plants
that
we
thought
are
they're
kind
of
interesting.
I
We
should
do
okay
in
the
shade
area
and
then
we,
as
requested
we
brought
those
around
to
the
front
of
the
building,
also
so
so
that
they're
kind
of
the
same
class
all
the
way
around
the
building.
You
know
we're
definitely
open
to
any
ideas
that
you
have,
but
what
we're
suggesting
is
a
pattern
of
pavéd
of
plaza
pavement.
D
I
Precast,
you
know
little
pavers
in
in
a
striated
pattern
and
we're
also
proposing
that
some
of
those
be
permeable
so
have
stripes
of
non-permeable
stripes
with
permeable
pavements,
so
that
when
we
do
get
a
heavy
rain
we
you
know
we
don't
have
very
good
drainage
back
there,
and
so
at
least
some
of
the
water
will
be
able
put
percolate
I'm--it's
graded
to
drain
out.
But
you
know
the
outlet
across
you
know
the
ice-cream
stand.
Is
this
sort
of
tight?
I
So
you
know
I
know
we
have
some
problems
there,
trying
to
mitigate
some
of
that
plus
we
you
know,
there's
hopefully
returned
some
of
the
water
to
the
through
the
soil.
Some
are
proposing
a
few
planters
along
the
edge
and
and
we're
incorporating
it
in
the
there's
a
little
wall.
So
that's
gonna
help
us
to
make
the
grade
as
you.
This
is
the
this
is
the
back
entry
to
the
library.
I
So
if
you
would
come
out
this
way
and
go
between
the
library
and
the
ice-cream
place,
we
really
don't
have
a
ADA,
accessible
ramp,
and
so
now
with
this,
this
is
a
little
planter,
seat,
seawall
and
so
that
will
separate
a
ramp
on
one
side
to
the
just
the
normal
access
point
into
the
ice-cream
place
on
the
other
side.
So
so
we
looked
at
how
we
could
do
that.
I
We
would
like
to
make
the
pavement
that
we're
proposing
for
the
patio
area
come
all
the
way
out
to
the
street
so
that
it's
nice
and
biting,
and
you
get
the
impression
that
this
is
all
just
one
one
space
we're
also
proposing
out
on
some
lights,
and
we
haven't
fully
designed
that.
But
what
we'd
like
to
do
is
put
three
or
so
lights
under
each
tree
and
have
them
up
light
the
the
canopy
so
that
when
do
you
have
an
event
it'll
be
nicely
lit
out.
I
There
will
also
include
places
for
plugins
so
that,
if
you
want
to
add
additional
lights
for
some
reason
for
an
event
of
some
kind,
you'll
be
able
to
plug
in
any
other
kinds
of
things
that
you
might
need
to
run
an
event
in
the
patio.
We
also
have
a
few
lights
that
we're
suggesting
for
along
the
front
of
the
library,
but
that
you
know
and
really
run
that
past
you
in
the
past.
I
So
there's
there's
there's
a
bit
of
work
to
do,
and
then
we
have
those
planters
which
will
also
irrigate
on
the
automatic
system
we're
proposing
two
gates
in
the
patio
area,
one
that
would
close
off
the
well
there's
a
little
trash
enclosure
here,
I'm
sorry
familiar
with
the
little
alley,
that's
being
used
by
the
the
adjacent
tenant,
and
then
we
would
have
a
gate
there.
We're
proposing
a
steel-framed,
maybe
Heywood,
just
with
a
little
bit
of
detailing
on
it.
We
showed
you
a
picture
of
that.
I
We've
included
I,
don't
believe
it's
in
your
packet,
but
on
here
when
we're
showing
that
we
have
some
will
put
exit
hardware
on
there,
so
that
will
be
merging,
see,
exit
hardware
which
wasn't
update
since
we
put
your
packets
together.
Besides
that,
everything
else
on
the
plan
is
the
same
as
you
have,
and
then
we
have
another
gate
over
here.
I
I
I
Then,
and
then
this
what
we're
proposing
is
we
can
get
these
sort
of,
like
a
tennis
court,
to
screen
that
we're
gonna
pin
to
the
we
can
pin
to
the
chain-link
fence
that
surrounds
those
pieces
and
they
come
in
different
kinds
of
patterns
we've
chose.
We
chose
this
path,
there
wasn't
there's
not
a
hundred
different
choices,
so.
E
I
Wouldn't
be
the
first
choice,
but
that
that
is
one
that
we
have.
This
I
think
it
will
look.
Okay,
the
lights
are
just
small
metal
fixtures
and
then
the
benches
we're
just
gonna,
have
some
long
benches
that
you
might
want
to
go
out.
There
sit
on,
and
just
you
know,
pretty
small,
pretty
small
statement
on
those
batches.
We
finished
some
plants
that
we
thought
would
be
of
interest.
I
A
I
E
Questions
yeah
I
have
a
lot
of
I,
just
been
I'm
at
that
library
at
least
three
days
a
week,
and
yesterday,
I
really
took
a
walk
around
and
so
I
want
to
preface
what
I
say
by
this
is
about
money
and
I
have
concerns
about
where
the
city's
going
at
this
point,
as
well
as
what
we
have
left
in
major
J
or
if
we
can
use
it
for
this
project.
When
will
you
begin
on
this
project?
The
dream
of
the
real
way.
E
And
as
I
spend
tiny
beer,
I
am
realizing
that
that's
not
exactly
the
future
of
that
patio
and
I
spent
time
this
morning.
Writing
my
notes.
There's
enough
time
on
my
computer,
that
I
have
some
questions
for
you
about
this.
First
of
all,
you've
got
this
very
modern
tile
that
you're
bringing
in
versus
what's
down
there
now
one
third
of
that
patio
is
covered
with
more
Spanish
tile,
which
goes
out
to
the
street,
comes
around
the
library
and
as
the
child
is
dead,
he's
chosen
to
go
across
in
front
of
Starbucks.
E
So
for
me
this
is
gorgeous
I.
Just
did
a
house
in
this,
but
I
don't
think
it's
appropriate
for
a
Spanish
building
in
what
we
have,
and
so
the
cost
of
removing
that
and
taking
that
Cuba
dump
concerns
me
that's
the
question:
why
did
you
choose
to
go
on
the
diagonal?
That
is
an
I
mean
I'm,
really
questioning
the
plan?
E
E
If
we
really
have
a
major
win
there,
we
will
have
an
old
tree
broken
here,
so
for
me
personally,
I
would
rather
remove
them
and
put
something
indigenous
to
the
desert
of
Palo
Verde
on
the
ski,
even
a
lovely
palm.
That
would
provide
the
look
in
the
shade
you're
talking
about
the
trees
are
awful
and
to
spend
money
to
light
them
up.
I'm.
Sorry,
my
concerns
are
about
our
money
and
what
we're
getting
in
the
end,
I
I
personally,
because
I
see
who's
coming
in
the
back
and
we
need
to
be
very
sensitive
about.
E
However,
I
don't
think
we
want
it
to
be
so,
inviting
that
we
have
other
problems.
I,
like
your
binge
and
I,
think
that's
appropriate.
One
of
them
were
two
of
them
in
the
right
place.
I,
like
the
design,
I,
think
they're,
very
nice
I'm
a
little
concerned.
If
you
do
this
thing
with
the
rocks
in
between
what
do
you
do?
If
you
have
a
wheelchair,
are
they
really
flat
and
rock?
Sometimes
don't
stay
flat
on
your
driveway
or
in
your
yard,
and
the
whole
point
of
this
is
a
v8
employee.
I
E
E
E
Busy
without
all
kinds
of
stuff
going
along
here
and
I,
think
all
that
stuff
grows
it
gets
bigger.
It
does
fill
out
the
things
that
are
down
there
right
now
are
dying.
Walking
around
the
library
and
I
will
say
and
going
record
that
the
entire
street
around
the
library
and
to
this
trash
is
absolutely
appalling.
We
have
three
or
four
different
coffee
houses
and
restaurants.
That's
ice
cream
from
the
sidewalk
that
pop
on
the
sidewalk.
It's
appalling
that
driveway
we
open
the
gate
which
is
falling
apart.
E
E
D
E
I
I
support
having
that
loft
off
at
night
I,
don't
support
lighting
up
the
trees
per
se.
At
this
point,
that's
my
opinion.
I,
don't
know
what
my
colleagues
think.
All
of
this
is
more
money,
its
electricity,
its
power.
Its
are
we
going
to
use
that
for
what
we
dreamed?
We
would
people
read
the
newspaper.
There
are
no
folks
from
that
library
at
this
appointment.
My
observation
is
people
need
a
table.
I
read
my
newspaper
in
the
morning.
E
They
need
a
cable
for
the
newspaper,
but
they
don't
sit
up
and
hold
that
and
I'm
not
saying
we
put
a
table
out
there,
but
you
know
people
may
come
in
the
winter
and
nice
I.
Don't
that
don't
care
with
me
that
I
think
where
we
were
thinking
of
the
use
for
the
catio
versus
where
it
really
is,
has
become
a
different
story.
I
absolutely
do
not
like
what
you're
gonna
do
in
front
of
the
I.
E
Would
much
rather
see
you
do
a
much
like
you're
gay
you're
going
to
do
a
gate
with
split
wood,
I
think
that's
what
I
see
going
in
front
of
people's
air
conditioners
in
this
city.
It's
good-looking
its
clean
these
things
dry
out
and
they're.
Not
pretty.
You
just
said
that,
and
so,
if
we're
going
to
do
it,
I
would
like
to
be
clean,
neat
and
really
look
nice
to
be
functional
for
within
a
budget
that
we
can
afford.
Your
ideas
are
really
beautiful.
E
We
were
talking
about
more
desert
natural
fence
in
helium.
You
know
that's
a
natural
plant
here.
Some
of
these
things
are
not
really
desert
things,
it's
what
everybody's
doing,
but
there
are
some,
maybe
other
choices
that
would
give
us
beauty
and
sage
that
would
go
with
our
building
and
maybe
some
flowers.
So
those
were
really
my
concerns
that
are
sitting
on
my
computer.
Because
can
you
explain
why
you
did
the
diagonal
sure.
I
What
we
really
like
to
do
is
reach
to
the
street,
so
if
somebody
comes
in
they're
invited
in
and
to
help
direct
to
this
doorway,
because
otherwise
the
current
configuration
doesn't
really
Center
the
focus
as
you've
approached
this
space
in
the
doorway.
We
see
this
more
as
a
library
improvement
rather
than
the
doorway,
so
we
were
trying
to
turn
that
focus
as
you
come
in,
which
would
mean
we
have
to
pave
all
the
way
out
to
the
street.
I
One
idea
that
you
know
we
had
run
by
with
staff
a
while
ago
was
to
try
to
pick
up
those
red
pavers.
Do
this?
Do
this
work
across
the
front
and
then
replace
those,
but
we
would
still
have
to
buy
quite
a
few
more
pavers,
there's
not
enough
out
there
to
do
any
kind
of
patio
like
we're
proposing
here.
So
then
there's
a
problem
of
matching
them.
I
I
E
I
The
space
does,
does
you
know
the
ground
plan
of
the
space
is
gonna
have
to
tie
this
together
because
this
building
doesn't
look.
You
know
it's
hard
to
balance,
how
you're
gonna?
What
should
you
know?
What's?
What's
the
most
important
and
then
there's
posts
and
there's
columns
and
and
there's
different
things
so
putting
in
this
this,
this
pattern
I
think
we
then
emphasize
the
ground
plan.
Okay,.
E
I
E
D
E
Going
to
really
keep
him
clean
and
nice
and
tidy
and
we
have
a
lot
of
traffic,
we
have
a
lot
of
going
through
there.
They
say
I'm
spending
a
lot
of
time
in
there
and
I
see
what's
going
on
in
the
back,
and
so
my
overall
concern
is
the
cost
the
utilitarian
function
of
it.
Does
it
blend
with
the
library
itself
as
a
beautiful
building?
Is
this
too
much?
You
guys
know
that
better
than
I
it's
hard
to
see
the
aesthetics
from
a
slam.
Let
me
see
the
materials
yes.
D
E
B
A
I'm
gonna
say
we
shouldn't
I
mean
I
actually
like
this.
The
way
it
is
I
would
definitely
replace
the
screening
material
with
the
wood,
but
I
think
what
they've
laid
out
is
perfect
and
it
doesn't
it
shouldn't
be
Spanish,
that's
not
a
Spanish
building,
it's
a
it's
a
modern
building.
It's
not
meant
to
ever
been
Spanish.
I,
do
think
the
striations
look
great
I
love
the
planters
I
like
it
being
planted
and
the
reason
I'd
like
a
planet
like
this,
the
desert
scape,
because
it
will
be
cost
effective,
long
run,
and
it
will
also
acid.
A
So
that's
the
reason
to
spend
the
money
and
also
the
reason
to
do
it
and
and
create
it
and
not
keep
dithering
about
it
for
another
seven
years
as
who
have
not
put
but
thirty
thousand
dollars
into
this
building
that
the
city
spent
a
million
to
it
is
the
library
and
it's
the
most
historic
building
in
the
city,
if
not
the
entire
valley
and
we're
ignoring
it
and
that's
no
reason:
they're
homeless
people
back
there
and
the
people
from
the
Palm
Springs
Follies
are
smoking
cigarettes.
A
It's
been
ignored
for
twenty
years,
so
I
just
have
it
the
total
commitment.
This
thing
we
have
to
take
the
time
in
the
effort
to
do
this
like
every
time.
If
we're
gonna
go
through
everything
and
you
know
recreate
it
every
time
we
need
to
find
a
plan
that
we
can
all
agree
on
and
vote
on
and
start
I
said.
I
think
this
is
the
closest
we've.
Come
I
really
love
the
gates.
I
do
think
that
would
make
the
change
I
think
some
of
the
plantings
and
stuff.
A
A
Front
will
be
redone,
the
lighting,
I
love
well,
I,
don't
ever
want
to
touch
those
trees
as
long
as
they're
alive,
and
you
could
stay
there.
That's
the
main
thing.
My
only
concern
again
is
the
cost,
and
is
the
city
gonna
pay
the
ad8?
That's
sixty
thousand
dollars
with
a
little
shelf
visitors
that
at
our
budget.
So
those
are
my
only
concern.
What's
it
gonna
cost
is
that
we
as
a
city
paid
for
that
sixty
and
again
I
think
it's
a
pretty
simple
plan
from
that.
A
We,
what
we
have
available
I
mean
again
I
hate
the
garbage
access,
there's
nothing.
We
could
do
I
tried
to
get
that
up
and
I
tried
to
get
the
air
conditioners
move.
You
know
with
all
this
stuff,
that's
been
going
on
with
the
city
and
investment.
It's
been
difficult,
so
I
think
when
we
have
the
full
board
where
we
get
Ashley
back,
we
should
drive
see
if
there's
any
other
changes
we
want
to
make
like
the
wood
wall,
and
then
you
get
a
final
budget.
Let's
see
if
we
can
own
at
least
can.
D
A
Braun
was
thrilled
and
I
have
a
patio
redone
with
all
this
access
through
space,
and
they
don't
want
to
do
crap
either
and
that's
part
of
what
we
should
really
be
talking
to.
In
long
terms,
there
should
be
some
shared
maintenance
costs
and
things
like
that,
going
on
attaching
it
to
his
buildings
and
improving
his
property,
but
again
right
now,
I
just
want
to
see
it
done.
I
think
it's
a
shame.
D
D
J
D
J
Have
my
alley
I'm
not
familiar
with
the
history
here,
so
please
forgive,
but
the
saying
is:
if
we
build
it,
will
they
come
I?
Think
your
comment
will
this
if
it
becomes
a
much
better
space,
but
we
have
more
events.
Will
we
have
more
requests
to
have
events?
There
I
mean
it's
a
beautiful
building
itself,
I,
don't
know
why.
E
I
would
say
you're
on
target
here,
because
right
now
you
know
I
think
book
clubs
been
there
and
that's
really
been
a
wonderful
room
to
me.
Even
Historical.
Society
right
now
is
just
overwhelming
getting
what
they're
doing
done.
They
haven't
planned
to
have
a
tea
or
something
on
the
patio.
Then,
once
again,
when
we
start
an
idea,
we
have
a
concept
and
then
reality
gets
in
money.
E
We
always
start
with
your
newly-created
idea,
but
library
custody
money
really
needs
to
be
protected.
We
have
a
big
project
that
we
would
like
to
see
happen.
One
way
or
the
other
and
I
am
very
committed
that
that
is
where
my
goal
is
right
now,
I
think
Ron
is
giving
his
heart
and
soul
to
this.
So
my
questions
were
simply.
Why
did
you
choose
the
way
you
went
and
I
think
maybe
seeing
the
material
is
a
very
different
thing
than
looking
at
this
and
looking
at.
J
Just
have
I
love
the
idea
and
I
think
that
it
would
be
inviting
I
understand
why
you,
you
laid
the
to
draw
attention
to
the
library
versus
just
having
them
the
way
it
is,
but
I
also
I
have
to
also
agree
somewhat
with
Linda.
Is
that
it's
beautiful
things
back
there?
If
they're
not
maintained
it
could
be
still
be
coded
beautiful
anymore?
We
have
that
same
problem
now
right,
so
is
it
better
to
spend
the
money
on
a
wood
fence
around
the
HVAC
is
versus?
J
J
And
I
understand
from
recent
conversations
attending
some
of
the
City
Council
that
the
city
is
starting
to
test.
What's
going
to
be
on
those
on
that
street
anyway,
and
some
benches
and
there's
IVA
send
me
this
will
complement
because
I
don't
know
if
you'll
see
it
or
not,
but
I
mean
it
would
be
a
continuing
flow.
The
way
you've
described
it.
J
A
C
A
To
dar
boxes
and
feelings
across
the
way,
it
should
really
mean
that
instinct
after
every
server
you
look
at
the
busiest
corner
in
Palm
Spring,
the
valley,
so
the
more
that
we
can
draw
attention
there
frankly
to
me
for
the
libraries,
the
better.
We
have
chances
for
fundraising
events
and
sorry
that
we
can
actually
achieve
and
build
something.
You
know
that
actually
benefits
the
whole
city.
It
doesn't
have
to
be
right
on
the
dam.
You
know.
Main
property
has
to
be
somewhere
that
actually
you.
J
Know
you're
right
because
I
understand
the
way
that
that
Street
from
that
corner
for
the
new
redevelopment
that
will,
if
you're
walking,
you're
gonna,
see
the
library
lit
up.
It's
almost
gonna
be
like
a
cornerstone
when
you're
walking
that
direction
I'm,
sorry
I
don't
have
if
it
sees
west,
north
or
south,
so
I
think
lighting
it
up
even
more
so
knowing
what's
gonna
be
there
ten
months
from
now,
it
makes
a
lot
of
sense
that
you're,
Riley
and
thought
about
it's
going
to
be
a
whole
different
corner.
D
H
H
So
the
immediate
next
step
would
be
just
making
any
refinements,
if
necessary,
to
this
set
to
this
final
concept
that
we
have
displayed
and
then
moving
forward
with
plan,
specs
and
estimate
now
just
to
talk
a
little
bit
about.
You
know
the
multiple
iterations
that
we've
gone
back
and
forth
back
and
forth
with
this
final
concept.
I
just
want
to
note
that
when
we
brought
David
and
his
through
into
this
design
into
this
project,
we
set
in
certain
budget
and
the
budget
has
now
been
exhausted.
H
E
A
H
D
D
C
B
E
C
My
question:
I'm
not
I,
didn't
ask
the
question.
So
my
question
is
the
board:
let's
say
that
they
approve
that,
then
the
board,
you
bring
back
the
plan,
the
board
votes
to
recommend
that
then
does
it
go
to
HS
pp
and
then
to
City
Council.
Is
that
how
that
works,
because
I
know
that
the
patio
is
part
of
the
HSP
be
right.
H
I
I
would
suggest
that
we
stop
by
HS
PB
to
give
them
a
courtesy,
review
and
kind
of
get
their
input.
City
Council
I
know
that
the
it's
that
the
City
Council
does
have
a
subcommittee
subcommittee,
so
we
definitely
want
them
involved
too.
So
there
are
obviously
are
a
series
of
steps
that
we
need
to
visit.
However,
we
want
to
be
able
to
come
with
a
decent
set
of
preliminary
drawings.
H
B
D
H
Don't
mind
since
I'm
here,
I
just
wanted
to
give
you
an
update
on
some
of
the
projects
that
we've
we've
been
in
construction.
We've
completed
construction.
What
the
next
steps
are
that
way
you
can
kind
of
understand,
what's
being
done
in
this
fiscal
year,
what
has
to
kind
of
move
forward
to
the
next
fiscal
year?
So
it'll
only
take
a
few
minutes.
H
Okay!
So
this
shade
structure,
we
have
released
well
staff,
put
together
a
notice
of
completion,
an
acceptance
staff
report,
so
we've
filed
with
the
county
reporter
that
the
project
has
been
complete.
We
waited
thirty
five
days
and
then
we
were
able
to
release
the
retention.
So
we're
done
with
that
project.
In
the
budget
there's
available,
2017
and
28
cents,
I
would
say
we
don't
need
that
we're
done
so
that
goes
back.
E
E
H
H
We
are
performing
punch
list
items
we
entered
into
the
90
day,
maintenance
schedule
with
the
contractor,
so
they're
required
to
come
by
and
pull
weeds
and
whatnot
just
maintain
that
for
90
days
we
still
have
retention
encumbered
in
the
account
to
be
able
to
once.
We
accept
formally
accept
that
project
we'll
have
to
go
to
council,
prepare
the
staff
report,
wait
35
days
and
then
release
their
retention,
so
I'm
asking
that
those
funds
that
are
encumbered
for
this
fiscal
year,
if
you
can
just
transfer
them
over
to
the
1718
fiscal
year.
E
D
D
H
We
during
the
the
design
phase
we
had
David
Evans
and
associates,
come
in
and
do
the
landscape.
They
actually
did
a
little
bit
more
than
that
they
assisted
at
us
with
responding,
simple
questions
that
were
provided
that
were
submitted
by
bidders
and
they
also
were
at
the
site
to
do
some
construction
admin
that
was
necessary
because
there
was
a
discrepancy
between
what's
in
the
field
and
what's
on
the
plan,
so
a
lot
of
times
our
inspectors,
our
construction
managers
and
even
the
design
consultant,
would
have
to
come
on-site
to
make
it
work.
H
We
were
able
to
to
use
some
of
the
funds
that
we
actually
had
a
line
item
for
under
reimbursable
budget.
We
allocated
$500
worth
of
reimbursable
budgets,
and
we've
used
some
of
that.
So
we
have
some
of
that
retainer,
however,
because
of
the
additional
visits
that
David,
Evans
and
associates
came
and
the
additional
support
that
they
gave
us.
While
we
were
at
the
bid,
we've
incurred
additional
costs,
so
we
have
a
design,
an
extra
work
proposal
provided
to
us
by
DEA
it's
in
the
amount
of
nine
hundred
and
ninety
seven
dollars
and
seventeen
cents.
H
However,
as
I
had
mentioned,
if
it's
okay
with
the
board,
because
we
didn't
use
the
reimbursable
task
item,
we
still
have
some
budget
left
over
there.
So
of
the
remaining
budget,
we
have
three
43
53.
Therefore,
there's
a
shortfall
of
650
364
of
Enosh,
of
additional
budget
that
I
request
today
in
order
to
pay
da
for
the
site
that
they
performed
during
construction
and
the
helped
answer
some
questions
during
the
bid
process.
C
E
C
B
B
C
Had
a
teen
zone
comic-con,
so
our
comic
convention
we've
had
almost
500
people,
I
think
show
for
that.
Okey
dokey,
great
program
and
I
want
to
say
for
our
statistics.
Just
so
you
know
the
statistics
have
really
increased.
We
are
pretty
certain
it's
because
Lisa
set
up
automatic
renewals
for
library
items
renewable
if
the
items
of
if
it
is
renewable
and
there
are
no
requests,
it
will
just
automatically
renew.
E
C
Next
year
we
just
we
start
with
another,
ten
thousand
well,
twenty
thousand
ten
thousand
from
crop
it,
sir,
and
then
ten
thousand
from
the
interesting
point,
so
you
automatically
get
that
we
automatic
you've
approved
it.
So
I
will
set
that
up.
Do
you
want
us
to
roll
over
the
the
two
thousand
four
hundred
thirty
three
dollars?
Yes,
I!
Do
just
leave
it
in
that
account
yeah,
okay,
where
what
we
do
at
the
end
of
the
fiscal
year.
Is
we
get
really
cautious
when
we
order
and
we're
afraid
to
overspend?
C
It's
the
date.
I
ran
that
one
was
June
21st,
and
so
it's
not
a
normal
report.
But
it's
because
I
wanted
you
to
see
that
the
trust
fund
I
mean
the
library
foundation.
Repayment
has
been
recorded
and
it
has
a
separate
account
number
now
so
that
you'll
be
able
to
track
that
deposit
the
deposits
as
they
come
in.
So
it's
just
a
single
sheet
by
itself.
E
D
A
G
Good
afternoon
I'm
Jackie
wax
from
the
Friends
of
the
library
and
board
and
we're
kind
of
excited.
We
are
excited
about
doing
our
planning
for
the
coming
year.
We
are
focusing
very
heavily
on
community
outreach,
so
we
put
together
a
community
outreach
committee
and
we
will
be
concentrating
on
doing
some
partnering
and
we
already
have
a
little
bit
of
a
project
going
on
with
the
Palm
Springs
unified
school
district,
with
kuya
elementary
and
doing
they're,
gonna
design
a
book
mark
and
the
students.
G
Will
it's
like
a
contest,
so
they'll
participate
in
that
and
we
hope
to
well
have
like
a
competition
and
we'll
have
an
award
for
the
winner
and
then
that
winner
will
be
on
the
library
bookmark
all
year
round,
and
we
have
some
ideas.
Hopefully
can't
don't
know
for
sure
now
to
tell
you
that
we
plan
on
to
continue
to
do
some
partnerships
with
some
of
the
elementary
schools
and
maybe
some
middle
schools
and
possibly
the
high
school
to
get
them
involved
in
something
with
the
library.
G
So
we're
very
excited
about
trying
to
get
some
exposure
out
in
the
community
and
try
to
get
people
to
come
to
the
library
and
know
about
our
services
and
will
continue
to
do
presentations
in
the
community
and
also
working
on
weather,
whatever
we
can
provide
for
Jeanne
and
support
of
the
library
and
we
love
the
children's
furniture.
It's
really
cute
so
we're
hoping
to
and
we
were
very
excited.
G
We
received
another
donation
from
the
family
of
another
hundred
thousand
dollars
and
we
they
have
been,
and
we
will
get
more
and
we
will
be
I
think
the
contribution
it
excuse
me.
The
donation
from
the
trust
right
now
is
about
four
hundred,
fifty
thousand
that
they
have
given
to
the
library.
So
we
want
to
do
them
proud
and
and
to
do
things
for
the
library
and
whatever,
whatever
capacity
we
could
do
that.
So
that's
kind
of
our
report
can
I.
D
B
G
C
G
B
J
If
we
know
what
we
want
to
do
with
the
building
and
I
think
it's
only
the
great
roadmap
for
us
to
do
so.
I
have
asked
that
we
consider
that
in
some
way
and
how
how
we
fund
that
I
I
think
that
we
another
issue
but
I
also
think
that
it's
important
that
not
just
this
board
be
a
part
of
this
process,
but
we
invite
our
other
partners,
like
the
friends
and
the
foundation
to
participate
in
some
of
this,
because
it's
just
such
an
important
thing
for
all
of
us
to
Mb,
I
told
Harry.
J
B
B
F
J
D
A
C
B
E
Friends,
we
always
go
to
the
friends
for
financial
support
from
your
genesis
can
be,
but
the
trustees,
the
friends,
the
foundation
and
the
library
staff
in
the
public
really
need
to
have
a
buy-in.
These
are
big,
expensive
projects,
we're
talking
about
so
I
support,
whatever
we
have
to
do,
I,
listen
to
get
people
to
come
and
do
that
work
for
us.
I
think
that's
in
our
best
interest
like
I,
say
that
today
and
we
have
a
lot
of
options
about
the
library.
B
J
I
was
one
last
communist
I
spent
a
day
in
LA
in
Chicago
last
week,
at
a
workshop,
sponsored
by
ala
and
we're
not
alone.
There
are
so
many
communities
in
this
situation,
there's
so
many
valuable
resources
available
to
us
to
help
us
go
through
this,
and
so
we
really
should
call
upon
the
experts
that
can
help
us
make
the
right
decision,
not
sure
we
may
not
make
the
right
decision
in
some
areas.
It's
all
it's
not
a
perfect
world,
but
at
least
we
can
have
those
advise
us
and
give
us
some
experience
from.
C
The
City
Council
approved
the
general
budget
on
June
7th
at
their
meeting,
but
there
were
some
concerns
or
things
that
they
are
working
on,
which
are
still
up
in
the
air
about
some
shortfalls
that
are
estimated
to
happen.
So
at
this
point
we
have
not
been
told
anything
new
to
to
do
so,
we're
just
in
a
holding
pattern.
I
just
wanted
to.
Let
you
all
know
that
we're
still
in
we're
we're
still
in
an
existing
holding
pattern
where
yeah
what
we
submitted
and
has
been
approved
at
this
point,
it's.
D
C
J
C
There's
nothing
firm,
but
I
wanted
to
just
let
you
know
that
we
are
working
on
a
project
with
our
the
Friends
of
the
library
and
and
a
the
Palm
Springs
Cultural
Center,
as
a
computing
community
partner
to
develop
a
speaker
series
and
we're
looking
to
come
up
with
a
few
authors
that
we
can
host
throughout
the
year
to
as
a
fundraiser
for
both
organizations.
And
so
nothing
is
set
in
stone
at
this
point.
But
I
wanted
to
just
kind
of
put
that
out
there
distance
or
anything
you
want
to
add.
Are
you.
A
C
A
Got
the
funding
from
the
two
organizations
so
now
it's
just
determining
will
be
the
speaker's
the
time
of
year
availability.
You
know,
isn't
gonna,
be
one
big
speaker,
three
smaller,
which
we're
trying
to
plan
some
events
to
tie
in
with
the
cultural
center
at
the
same
time.
So
hopefully,
in
the
next
few
weeks,
by
the
time
we
meet
again,
we
should
have.
The
idea
is
to
have
a
full
list
from
that
there's
just
a
small
committee
with
our.
C
C
A
The
board
and
just
a
partnership
I
mean
I'm,
hoping
there
with
the
you
know
the
Richards
auditorium
being
redone
Camelot
there
in
the
library
there
what
happens
with
CEO
D.
That
really,
though,
would
eventually
be
a
real
cultural
corridor.
All
through
that
area
that
really
could
be
developed
and-
and
this
figure
series
are
very
popular
in
Rancho,
Mirage
and
desert
town
halls.
I
would
say
all
the
time
number
one
speaker
series
in
the
country,
nineteen
hundred
people,
so
there's
a
real
market
for
it.
A
D
A
C
C
C
You
had
a
donation
and
it's
been
a
long
time
and
that
was
designated
to
go
to
extraordinary
events,
and
we
really
do
believe
that
this
is
an
extraordinary
good
good
situation
and
there
we
need
something
in
Palm
Springs.
We
need
a
nice
speaker
series
and
who
better
to
do
it
than
the
library
and
the
polymerase
cultures
in
Coppola.
J
D
C
B
C
So
we
haven't
met
for
a
little
bit
so
in
May
that
big
number
Linda
that
we
had
for
statistics
was
our
Palm
Springs
comic-con,
our
teens
own.
My
prompts
Mary's
library
comic-con.
We
took
over
the
main
room
of
the
library
we
partnered
with
the
organization
Palm
Springs
comic-con
they're,
the
ones
that
have
their
event
in
November,
and
it
was
a
huge
success.
Almost
500
people
were
there
there's
a
lot
of
fun.
Jackie
a
friend,
the
friends
and
some
volunteers
helped
out
just
a
big
fun
time.
C
People
were
in
costumes
and
we
had
drawings
for
prizes
and
played
games,
just
big
fun
and
the
little
kids
went
and
the
little
kids
were.
You
know
in
the
children's
room,
so
much
fun.
I
was
a
presenter
at
the
neighborhood's
USA
annual
conference
in
Omaha,
with
one
PS
representative,
Eric
teal,
and
our
presentation
and
the
whole
conference
was
a
success.
J
C
C
D
C
Oh
I
saw
your
whatever
classes,
that's
great
and
everybody
gets
a
free
book
which
of
the
friends
have
stepped
up
to
just
sponsor
this,
and
kids
are
so
happy.
Kids
and
adults.
We've
had
almost
almost
200
book
vouchers
turned
in
for
free
books
from
the
friends
book
sales,
so
adults
get
free
book
vouchers,
so
they
get
a
free
book
from
the
book.
Sale,
children
and
teens
get
a
free
book
and
each
one
of
these
happens
every
week
for
six
weeks.
C
Fun
and
then
the
nice
thing
is,
we
are
the
friends
we,
the
friends,
are
a
recipient
of
an
Anderson,
Children's
Foundation
grant,
which
we're
going
to
pick
up
next
week.
Yes,
next
week,
$19,000
to
pay
for
the
books.
So
it's
amazing.
It's
really
wonderful!
How
this
turn
turned
out,
that
the
friends
said
no
problem
and
then
we
got
a
grant
for
it.
So
no
problem
this.
C
To
partner
again
partnering,
we
love
to
partner,
but
we've
partnered
with
the
Palm
Springs
power
baseball
and
last
night
was
library
night
at
the
baseball
game
and
Nancy
Valdivia.
Our
children's
librarian
threw
out
the
first
pitch
and
she
threw
a
strike.
I
threw
out
the
pitch
last
year.
I
threw
a
dirt
ball,
it
was
perfect,
she
did
a
good
job
and
so
and
the
power1
they
had
a
good
game.
So,
let's
see
we
will
be
closed.
The
main
library
will
be
closed
on
July
4th
for
Independence
Day,
but
well.
C
Wood
will
be
open
all
day,
9:00
a.m.
to
9:00
p.m.
and
part
of
that
decision.
What,
besides
the
fact
that
it?
You
know
that
that
library's
open
362
days
a
year,
we're
closed
three
days
a
year,
but
we
are
at
cooling
center,
and
so
the
main
library
and
well
would
Marie
are
cooling
centers
and
so
that's
a
place
that
you
can
go
if
you
need
to
yeah
place
to
get
cool
on
July
4th.
So.
E
C
We're
doing
some
web
design
classes
so
check
our
brochure
or
our
website
for
those
they
are
free.
You
don't
have
to
attend.
The
whole
series
you
can
just
drop
in
to
one
or
the
other.
No
registration
is
required.
There
are
four
different
swell
we've
already
had
two,
but
a
couple
of
different
Saturdays
at
10:30
and
I
did
attend
the
American
Library
Association
annual
conference,
along
with
one
of
our
other
librarians
Sharon,
and
it
was
very
educational.
C
That's
what,
when
library
staff,
when
we
go
to
conference,
it's
not
to
just
go
for
fun
where
it's
our
continuing
education.
So
we
learn
a
lot
and
you
like
I,
was
saying
you
know
he
talked
to
other
people,
we're
not
you
know,
learning
from
other
people
and
getting
meeting
other
people
and
saying
how
are
you
doing
it
can
I?
Have
your
card
I
got
cards
from
other
library,
oh
I
love!
That
idea
can
I
have
your
card,
and
will
you
send
me
the
slides
or
were
you
send
to
your
game
or
stuff
like
that?
C
F
C
C
B
The
board,
like
the
new,
treasurer
Fred
Bell,
and
we
have
and
we've
changed,
benning's
and
we're
in
the
process
of
I'm
in
the
process
of
working
with
Fred,
to
give
him
all
of
his
stuff
and
prepare
a
final
report
for
my
tenure
as
treasurer.
And
then
he
will
take
over
after
that.
And
the
board
did
make
a
payment
back
to
the
trust
fund
at
$5,000.
B
A
Comment
I
had
this
is
because
we
were
talking
about
strategies
they
I
do
think
we
get
to
the
point
that
we
have
the
the
drawings
to
say
we're
gonna,
do
it
the
main
branch
we
do
need
to
get
the
friends
and
the
foundation
together
and
the
board
together
decide
on
a
what
is
our
strategic
fundraising
plan?
What's
our
elevator
speech,
are
we
hiring
a
company?
You
know?
What's
the
it's
like
a
capital
campaign
status,
we
may
not
have
to
raise
the
full
of
that,
but
we're
gonna
have
to
raise
some
passive.
A
We
should
be
prepared
as
a
you
know,
as
a
group,
if
I
go
a
little
team
retreat,
but
mainly
to
you
know,
decided
some
kind
of
a
company,
their
professional
fundraiser,
something
to
help
again.
Another
just
I
think
that
should
be
part
of
the
overall
strategy
thing.
Take
we're
not
just
we
have
to
think
about
how
we're
gonna
plan
for
that.
A
A
E
E
D
E
Go
to
the
friends,
but
now
we
have
other
resources.
The
banner
downtown
is
great,
I,
really
like
it
when
it
says:
Palm,
Springs
library
and
the
model
is
still
sitting
is
in
the
world,
would
mark
Murray
library
and
it
needs
to
be.
D
D
A
B
E
E
It's
very
interesting
because
it
saw
me
in
certain
places
when
I
walk
in
and
very
apparent,
and
you
know
here's
something
I
just
need
to
bring
up.
It
is
really
really
hot
here
and
the
light
that
comes
in
window
is
tremendous
and
for
the
people
sitting
at
that
desk
all
day,
you're
looking
into
the
glare
and
it's
just
one
more
project,
but
it
would
be
wonderful
if
the
top
could
have
the
same
screen.
It's
in
the
in
the
staff
lunchroom
on
even
down
the
sides,
but
still
leave
the
door
open,
but
it
is
really
unbearable.
