A
B
D
Alright
welcome
everyone.
We
have
a
quorum
for
today's
meeting
of
the
Human
Rights
Commission
Monday
June
10
we
are
starting
at
3:01
p.m.
a
quorum
is
present.
So
to
start
off,
we
will
have
one
of
our
commissioners
read
the
mission
statement
for
us
and
who
would
like
to
read
the
mission
statement
today.
D
Any
person
who
wishes
to
speak
on
a
topic
within
the
city's
jurisdiction
during
this
portion
of
the
agenda
must
file
a
speaker
card
with
a
staff
liaison
before
that
portion
of
the
agenda
is
called.
Although
the
Commission
values
comments
pursuant
to
the
Brown
Act,
it
generally
cannot
take
any
action
on
items
not
listed
on
the
posted
agenda.
Commissioners
will
not
enter
into
discussion
with
speakers,
but
during
Commission
comments
may
refer
to
the
matter
to
staff
or
report
and
recommendation
at
a
future
Commission
meeting
and
today.
So
far
we
have
a
speaker.
D
E
Thank
you.
It's
an
honor
to
be
here
in
front
of
the
Palm
Springs
Human
Rights
Commission.
My
name
is
Sanjeev
Gupta,
chairman
co-founder
of
IRA
PI
international,
we're
based
here
in
Palm
Springs.
Just
when
I
mention
our
slogan,
our
company
slogan,
we
facilitate
a
meaningful
sustainable
world
by
bringing
optimal
efficiency
to
industry
and
quality
of
life
to
humanity
through
Internet
of
Things,
robotics
and
consciousness,
and
serving
humanity
beyond
the
US
Constitution,
with
transparency
and
sustainability.
E
So
what's
the
prerogative
for
City
to
be
smart,
the
Praga
did
for
a
city
such
as
ours,
our
nine
cities
in
Coachella
Valley
and
the
focus
on
Palm
Springs.
Since
we're
here,
the
focus
is
for
very
nicely
by
the
Smart
City
Council,
which
is
a
general
body
United
States
worldwide,
which
has
a
blueprint
for
how
do
you
deploy
a
smart
city
and
the
four
pillars?
I've
listed
our
livability
workability,
sustainability
and
learnability,
very
simple:
it's
for
all
humans,
all
human
resources
and
biodiversity.
E
This
include
inclusive
of
aging
population
physically
challenged
all
the
above
with
that
said.
Where
do
we
go
from
here?
You
know
we
talk
a
lot
about
smart
cities
wherever
you
go.
If
you
go
to
the
next,
the
next
page,
what
I've
listed
here
is
that
the
city
and
private
sector
needs
to
take
action
and
and
of
course,
taking
the
action
you
need
money.
So
how
do
you
do
that?
Well
triple
bottom
line
again,
always
works.
E
You
know
you
meet
together
with
various
City
Council's
and
you
get
the
roadmaps,
and
then
you
put
a
shred
together,
social
financial,
environmental
impact.
You
look
at
intersection
of
all
and
then
from
here
you
can
now
plan
on
what
would
be
the
effective
way
to
get
get
going
on
building
a
smart
city.
Smart
cities.
Are
we
listed
the
four
pillars,
but
then
they're
they?
What
are
the
tangible,
the
tangibles?
E
Are
we
our
solutions
which
are
smart
solutions,
smart
solutions,
our
automated
solutions
using
sensors,
artificial
intelligence
and
machine
learning,
and
what
I've
listed
here
a
bar
from
a
tnt's
framework
for
smart
City,
you
bring
operational
efficiency
to
business
vertical
is
great,
but
what
about
the
humans
so
the
humans?
You
want
to
improve
their
quality
of
life.
You
do
that
through
IOT,
which
are
sensors,
AI
machine
learning
and
we
target
our
company
has
solutions
today,
which
target
energy
utilities,
infrastructure.
E
That
means
connectivity
and
open
access
network
connectivity
for
companies
to
innovate,
to
come
into
the
area,
transportation,
Public,
Safety
and
citizen
engagement.
What
I've
done
is
I've
listed
a
list
of
companies
which
I
my
company
represents
on
the
remainder
of
the
document
and
I've
listed
very
briefly.
What
each
of
each
of
them
does
just
to
leave.
You
with
the
perfect
note
is
that
health
SAS,
which
is
listed
here,
does
remote
patient
monitoring.
What
that
does
for
all
of
us
here
and
all
as
well
as
as
a
senior
population
and
even
nursing
home
population.
E
What
it
does
it
allows
remote
patient
monitoring
allows
a
system
to
monitor
all
the
biometrics
of
that
patient
automatically
and
caregivers
have
less
stress.
They
make
more
less
mistakes.
So
these
solutions
that
are
transmitted
using
these
wireless
devices-
a
box,
for
example,
with
pills
in
them
and
there's
a
wireless
sensor
that
is
transmitted
to
a
box
and
the
Box,
collects
all
those
biometric
data.
E
Guess
what
the
data
goes
to
insurance
company
if
there
was
a
wall
on
the
ground,
all
that's
being
transparently
connected
to
the
doctors,
health
care
facility
insurance-
and
this
is
just
one
example
of
remote
patient
monitoring-
and
this
has
to
be
brought
into
all
the
verticals
of
the
city,
not
just
healthcare.
Excellent.
D
F
C
G
C
F
The
thanks
to
the
appreciation,
though,
are
even
more
heartfelt
than
the
rather
decrepit
memory
I
have
for
names,
yes
for
the
Harvey
Milk
breakfast,
which
was
particularly
successful
here,
but
once
we
had
about
1,600
right
1200,
oh
okay.
Well
maybe
they'll
over-optimistic,
but
it
was
a
nice
cool
crown
is
glad
to
see
the
our
commission.
Representation
was
good
there,
so
that
was
excellent,
then.
Secondly,
right
on
its
heels
and
Nicky
may
have
a
few
things
to
add
as
well.
F
F
Well
I've
been
saying
each
one
teach
one-
and
this
is
still
kind
of
my
mantra
in
terms
of
where
we
can
more
broadly
bring
even
more
attention
to
our
concerns
around
human
rights
by
having
a
cadre
of
citizens
who
are
prepared
to
provide
basic
information
and
basic
education
on
city
services,
city,
politics,
non
city
programs.
So
this
Civic
programs
whatever,
but
really
bringing
a
lot
more
life
into
into
the
community
in
terms
of
volunteer
community
involvement.
So
that's
what
I've
got
excellent.
B
Make
a
few
comments
as
well.
The
news
event
was
quite
well
run
and
you
know
kudos
to
Denise
goos
Lea.
She
really
was
on
top
of
everything.
Making
things
go
smooth
the
people
I
met
there.
There
were
many
people
who
were
happy
to
be
here.
It
wasn't
quite
so
hot
from
like
Alabama
Georgia
Mississippi,
and
they
were
all
working
very
hard
to
make
their
particular
cities
the
best
that
they
could
be.
I
went
to
one
interesting
seminar
that
was
all
about
preparedness
for
us,
maybe
earthquake
for
them.
B
Maybe
it
was
floods,
but
they
provided
these
big
buckets
from
like
Home
Depot
with
a
label
on
it.
That
said,
you
should
have
these
items
in
your
bucket,
so
you
can
just
grab
the
bucket
and
go
when
the
time
comes.
It
was
simple,
but
a
really
good
idea.
I
also
had
lunch
with
some
people
who
were
on
panels
from
Monrovia
because
they
were
close
by
I
thought.
Perhaps
that's
a
city
that
can
relate
to
what
goes
on
in
our
city
and
it
was
very
interesting.
B
The
majority
of
the
people
I
went
to
lunch
with
or
african-american,
and
they
have
a
great
program
where
they
reach
out
to
the
youth
in
their
city.
So
I
learned
a
lot
from
that.
I
met
meant
to
bring
the
brochure,
so
everyone
could
read
about
everything
and
bring
that
and
we
can
have
it.
We
can
put
it
in
storage
in
our
box.
D
So
they
first
off.
We
have
the
executive
committee
which
we
haven't
met,
but
we
do
need
to
appoint
a
rotating
member
from
the
Commission
at-large.
You
would
like
to
serve
with
the
vice
chair
and
myself
so
who
would
like
to
have
be
a
volunteer
to
serve
on
this?
The
executive
committee
for
I
get
there's
no
set
time,
but
maybe
that
is,
do
you
know
we'll
check
and
see
I
think
it
may
be
quarterly.
So
any
volunteers
who
would
like
to
step
up
as
the
rotating
member
from
the
Commission
to
serve
on
the
executive
committee.
D
D
It's
yours,
Commissioner
gross!
Thank
you
very
much,
so
we
at
some
point
will
have
we'll
do
our
first
meeting
and
get
that
going.
Next
is
community
development
mediation
in
that
umbrella
label
is
Desert,
Island,
Gateway,
Estates,
Community,
Association
and
I.
Believe
we
have
an
update
from
Commissioner
flood.
Yes,.
H
One
lady
was
a
comment
about
the
Black
History
Month
incident
with
the
police
and
she,
the
the
police
officer,
there
I
guess
doing
his
briefing
sergeant
Tori's.
She
wanted
to
challenge
him
and
have
a
sort
of
one-on-one
debate,
but
the
the
chair
of
the
Association
sort
of
said
there
was
nothing
time
in
place
and
the
police
had
already
sent
a
letter
explaining
what
had
gone
on
at
that
child.
So
she
settled
down.
So
it
was
not
too
much
there.
H
H
To
get
a
last
name,
Gordon
last
name
I
believe
anyway,
so
that
was
a
pretty
good
I.
Think
in
fact,
that
the
community,
the
associates
and
people
there
wanted
to
know
what
they
were
going
to
do.
I
mean
it
was
not
a
campaign
type
of
presentation,
this
one
to
say
my
name
is
so-and-so
and
I'm
running,
and
that
was
about
it,
but
the
people
they
also
said.
H
Well,
what
were
you
gonna
do
from
loss
for
them
for
that
community
and
some
things
came
up
like
there's:
a
bus,
stop
plan
for
the
students,
high
school
students,
I
guess,
Sun
City,
sudden
bus
will
be
running
that
and
that
was
not
certain
or
not
specific
as
to
when
it
was
going
to
start.
I
was
so
next
school
season.
Maybe,
but
you
know
that
was
one
of
the
things
and
they
discussed
the
mature
adults
web
program.
H
That's
working
great,
so
there
were
things
like
the
suicide
for
elderly
I
guess
form
when
they
say
mature
adults
that
were
using
that
term.
So
that
was
about
it.
The
there
was
another
thing
they
discussed
was
a
traffic
light
for
the
neighborhood
I'm,
not
actual
exactly
what
it
was
going
to
be,
but
there
was
something
going
on
with
the
the
city
and
the
transportation
and
traffic
program,
so
they
looked
looking
forward
to
a
traffic
light.
H
F
Yeah
I
have
a
response
to
your
last
mention
the
the
traffic
light
mentioned,
desert
Highland
gateways
very
active
in
one
PS,
which
is
a
good
thing.
So
I
don't
know
if
you
knew
this
or
if
it
came
up,
but
the
primary
resource
they
could
leverage
to
get
some
attention
to.
That
would
be
the
code
enforcement,
the
Public
Works
Committee
on
one
PS,
where
they
have
very
active
representation
already.
It
might
just
be
different
people
who
weren't
there
and
didn't
know
that
or
whatever,
but
but
that
would
certainly
be
a
very.
D
H
F
Actually,
peace,
information
on
that
I
remember
from
when,
because
I
was
volunteering
it
too
well,
when
they
were
in
Desert
Highlands
up
there
and
definitely
sun
line
was
coming
up
and
down.
I
think
it's
probably
Rosa
Parks
in
front
of
the
First
Baptist
Church,
so
I
know
Sun
line
and
list.
I've
changed
the
route
in
the
last
year
year
and
a
half
has
a
route
that
runs
through
that
area.
If
not
right
in
front
of
Jesse
Jackson
Center,
just
down
at
Rosa
Parks,
just
a
couple
blocks
so
I.
D
Okay,
next,
under
this
heading,
is
the
homelessness
task
force
an
affordable,
housing.
I
don't
have
who's
the
representative
for
that
anymore,
Oh,
Commission
Andrade
and
we
still
have
homelessness
and
affordable
housing.
Is
that
linked
together?
Yes,
okay,
mediation
is
also
in
this
category,
commissioner
gross.
F
C
F
Well,
I
hope
we
would
have
more
than
just
one
or
two,
but
whatever
yeah
and
as
I
reflected
at
the
last
meeting
I'd
like
to
see
it
within
the
broader.
If
it
if
it
moves
forward,
I
have
no
news
to
report
on
City
Academy
of
heard
nothing
from
Christie
and
tried
to
have
no
idea
where
that
is.
But
the
discussion
there
had
been
about
how
that
would
dev
tell
nicely
with
that
program,
and
actually
mediation
would
would
become
a
leg
up
on
the
broader
stool.
B
We
just
hop
back
to
the
homeless
and
affordable
housing
issue
for
a
moment.
I
I
know
this
person
for
a
long
time,
but
she
and
her
husband
has
just
purchased
two
buildings:
affordable
housing,
24
units,
and
it
was
very
interesting
to
me
to
hear
the
progress
and
and
how
you
address
this,
because
of
course,
you
take
on
problems
but
they're
working
with
path
of
life
to
get
residents
in
there
they've
bonded
and
created
a
relationship
with
the
Palm
Springs
Police
Department.
So
they
come
by
more
often
than
they
perhaps
did
in
the
past
and
they're.
G
B
E
A
D
A
D
D
B
F
One
thing
to
watch
is
an
information
item.
One
PS
we'll
be
addressing
this
Thursday
regular
meeting.
By
the
way
is
this
Thursday
2:00
o'clock?
Anybody
that's
interested
anyway,
probably
the
largest
gen
I'd,
a
minute
being
active,
I,
think
probably
for
another
month
or
two
well
be
guidelines.
I,
don't
think
it'd
be
policies,
but
they
will
be
guys.
Oh,
it's
on.
Okay
they'll
be
guidelines
from
one
PS
to
the
local
neighborhood
organizations
related
to
candidate
forms
and
candidate
appearances.
F
So
essentially
it
leaves
this
big
confetti,
Norg
and
candidates,
and
where
do
they
all
go
and
what,
if
one
dork,
has
a
one
policy
another
as
an
but
the
general
policy
stance
of
1ps
has
been
not
to
endorse
or
otherwise
identify
with
any
political
issues
that
includes
local
or
national
issues,
with
the
one
exception
being
education.
One
PS
is
some
of
you
I.
F
Think
a
problem
notice
me
if
then
to
them,
has
sponsored
candidate
forms,
but
on
a
very
strict
policy
of
their
being
absolute
level
playing
field
for
all
the
candidates,
great
care
taken
to
position
various
can
of
statements,
and
all
of
that,
so
that
they
are
as
objective
and
non
nonpartisan.
Maybe
isn't
quite
the
right
word,
because
this
isn't
about
political
parties,
but
even
playing
field
for
all
the
candidates.
Now,
how
does
that
happen
across
forty
six
nerds
with
multiple
candidate
sets
the
active
issue,
because
now,
all
of
a
sudden
we're
all
counting
these
things.
F
Oh
okay,
this
isn't
like
the
old
days
where
we
had
you
know
six
or
seven
Kent
Council
candidates
at
a
candidate
forum.
So
anyway
that's
active
and
I
I
think
as
human
rights
commissioners,
we
should
be
encouraging
our
various
neighborhoods
to
be
sure
and
voice
any
views
they
have
related
to
how
much
presence
or
how
little
presence,
because
it
won't
be
involvement
again.
F
E
F
Filled
out
its
about
set
to
top
out
of
that
is
an
objective
of
one
PS
is
to
have
what
would
call
the
stragglers
now
kind
of
either
coming
into
a
pre-existing,
neighborhood
or
otherwise
being
a
part
of
a
neighborhood
so
that
there
are
not
pockets
of
the
city
that
are
not
part
of
the
1ps
Network
mm-hmm,
and
it's
about
ninety
ninety-five
percent
complete
at
this
point
very
good,
oh-
and
you
know,
there's
one
one
other
thing:
yeah
related
to
this
discussion.
F
F
F
Don't
think
it's
time
for
it
to
come
here,
but
if
it
does
not
boil
out
in
a
way
that
is
inclusive,
I
think
that's
something
we
should
be
putting
on
our
radar
for
a
potential
agenda
item
for
us
to
potentially
address,
because
at
that
point
I
think
it
ceases
to
be
about
the
technicalities
of
neighborhood
boundaries
and
the
general
human
rights
issue
of
all
citizens.
Having
equal
access,
particularly
to
civic
organizations
that
well
white
guess
is
no
longer
sponsored
by
the
city
is
very
closely
tied
to
the
city.
Mm-Hmm.
D
Okay,
next
we've
got
the
Palm
Springs
Police
Department,
LGBT,
Outreach
Committee,
and
the
good
news
is
the
police
department
is
going
to
be
providing
us
the
regular,
a
crime
report
for
each
month
and
there
was
no
hate
crimes
in
the
city
for
the
month
of
May.
So
that
made
my
report
easy
and
simple
for
this
month
and
I
made
an
Aeron
what
I
sent
to
Dale
I
actually
listed
Cultural
Affairs
twice,
and
it
should
have
been
listed
as
senior
veterans
and
people
with
disabilities
committee.
G
Last
month,
I
did
report
that
I
met
with
my
cell
and
that
it
seemed
to
be
the
consensus
of
opinion
that
we
piggyback
on
their
effort
instead
of
doing
another
completely
repetitive,
as,
as
you
know,
redundant
experience.
So
having
figured
that
part
out
and
I
think
I'm
next
on
this
world
days
as
well,
October
1st
is
International
Day
of
older
persons
and
this
event
will
be
in
October,
so
I
think
it
kind
of
aligns
nicely
for
that.
Yeah.
C
D
G
I,
you
recall
that
last
meeting
I
issued
or
circulated
a
list
of
the
international
days
of
recognition
that
the
United
Nations
I
don't
want
to
say
they
celebrate.
But
they
recognized
and
what
I
asked
folks
to
do
was
to
kind
of
initial
or
indicate
if
they
felt
that
it
was
appropriate
for
this
group
to.
G
Okay,
and
so
what
I
did
is:
I
went
back
and
I
tallied
of
all
the
hundreds
of
days
of
observation
to
see
the
ones
that
that
this
group
felt
were
most
appropriate
for
our
mission
and
our
our
vision
of
what
we're
here
to
do.
So
this
is
the
list.
It's
recognition
only
at
this
point
we're
thinking.
Maybe
we
could
put
it
on
the
master
calendar
as
as
just
an
awareness
and
an
education.
If
we
chose
to
do
something
around
it,
we
could.
G
We
could
make
a
decision
about
that
later
on
down
the
road,
but
for
the
time
being,
probably
just
listed
again
as
education
and
awareness
and
most
of
the
categories,
unless
you
feel
otherwise
seem
to
have.
You
know
a
pretty
close
connection
to
human
rights.
So
that's
the
plan
for
right
now.
One
thing
I
did
want
to
mention,
though,
was
that
in
June
on
the
23rd,
its
United
Nations
public
service
day
and
that's
where
they
give
out
their
awards
to
community
to
people
in
the
community.
This
very
similar
to
what
we
do
and
I
thought.
D
We
used
to
be
Dale.
Do
you
know
the
history
was
before
your
time,
so
we
used
to
do
our
awards
and
I
think
it
was
timed
in
June.
We
would
have
to
go
back
in
and
read
about
it.
It
was
shifted
out
intentionally
out
of
that
timeframe
and
I
don't
know
if
it
was
because
summertime
and
fewer
people
in
town
but
I
suspect
that
was
probably
part
of
that
decision
to
shift
it
out
to
being
during
the
year
when
more
people
are
here.
Okay,.
G
Let's
see
if
there's
anything
else
yeah
if
we
had
social
media
I,
know
Commissioner
Morgan,
not
here
right
now,
but
he
has
advocated
for
a
Facebook
page
for
the
Commission.
If
we
had
that
it
might
be
a
great
place
to
just
put
in
a
little
blurb
like
you
know,
today's
the
International
Day
of
Education,
again
just
for
awareness
and
and
to
educate
the
the
public
in
general,
otherwise
I
think
you
know.
In
the
absence
of
that
communication
method,
we
are
just
going
to
be
having
it
on
our
calendar,
so.
D
Have
a
comment
on
I'm,
not
sure
the
world
day
of
safety
and
health
at
work,
the
inclusion
of
that
and
thus
formally
adopting
a
slate
of
human
rights
related
and
the
other
one
that
I
think
and
I.
Don't
recall
if
it
was
in
the
packet
that
you
passed
around,
but
the
International
Day
of
homophobia-
I,
don't
I,
don't
remember
if
it
was
on
that
list.
G
G
That's
what
that's
everybody-
yes
yeah
again
I
kind
of
agreed
with
you
wrong
that
I
didn't
think
that
the
workplace
safety
issue
was
probably,
but
enough
people
checked
it
that
thought
it
was
so
again.
If
we're
voting
on
this
I
suppose
we
can
take
it
apart
and
decide
if
people
feel
differently.
I
mean
June
is
completely
filled
up.
A
G
A
G
D
F
C
G
Know
I
think
a
lot
of
these
came
out
of
individual
efforts
in
certain
states
and
communities
that
that
had
a
passion
for
these
kinds
of
things
and
they
brought
them
to
the
United
Nations
and
asked
for
the
for
the
designation.
So
some
of
the
things
we're
talking
about-
maybe
just
haven't
reached
this
point
yet
or
nobody
or
they've
gone
in
other
directions-
I'm
not
really
sure
but
but
yeah
I.
Think
if
we
can
find.
G
A
I,
just
I'm
I
am
thinking
about
that
that
a
world
day
for
us
it
says
the
safety
and
health
that
don't
work
and
I
would
think
that
people
chose
that
because
we
know
that
sometimes
a
youth
that
happens
in
the
workplace
and
people
are
afraid
to
come
forward
for
fear
of
that's
jean-talon,
Talat
Ali
Asian.
That's
the
only
thing
I
can
think
about
well.
A
A
You
know
to
and
I
can't
recall
if
I
chose
world
day
first.
This
is
safety
at
health
at
work.
I
have
no
idea,
but
your
point
of
and
it's
happening
all
the
time
of
people
are
being
killed
on
their
jobs
for
nothing
else,
but
just
being
there
and
so
I
I.
Don't
think
that
that
that
is
a
bad
thing
to
keep
there,
because
we
have
to
be
a
reminded
of
that
too.
A
A
B
G
B
A
concern
that
we're
opening
up
with
can
of
worms
here
where
we're
gonna
put
these
on
our
calendar
and
then
we're
leaving
ourselves
open
to
well.
You
didn't,
do
you
didn't
put
this
one
on?
You
didn't
put
that
one
on
so
I
really
think
it
needs
more
discussion,
and
maybe
we
pick
five
that
are
permanent
to
subcommittees
or
some
thing
of
that
nature.
This
is
just
a
really
wide
and
I
do
realize
you
took
it
from
what
we
said
and
what
we
circled,
but
I
think
we
need
to
think
carefully
about
this.
A
F
F
Narrow
the
list
down
just
do
that
and
get
it
over
with,
but
the
what
concerns
me
also
very
similar
to
your
concerns.
Nicky,
is
that
a
lot
of
these
are
a
fairly
narrow
focus
are
great
causes,
yes,
but
because
of
the
narrow
focus
we
get
a
long
list.
So
maybe
part
of
that
discussion
can
be
for
our
purposes
since
we're
not
being
driven
by
an
absolute
list
from
any
one
agency.
F
F
F
Is
at
the
end
of
the
day,
why
don't
we
as
a
commission,
we
know
what
is
on
our
minds,
oh
we're,
being
in
this
commission.
Do
we
actually
need
to
follow
a
template,
United,
Nation
anywhere
else,
or
do
we
just
take
a
half
an
hour
and
say
what
are
the
five
or
10
most
important
kind
of
visibility
issues
we
just
want
to
be
sure,
get
posted.
A
C
A
G
C
A
G
Clearly
they
are
important
to
somebody
because
they've
asked
for
this
designation,
so
yeah,
it's
I
mean
and
I
know.
We
cannot
cover
everything
that
comes
out
of
the
category
of
human
rights.
So
I
know
that,
but
so
yeah
one
days
it's
great
and
we
can
condense
it
or
we
can
meet
and
talk
about
the
priorities,
maybe
maybe
they're
different
every
year.
Maybe
we
select
a
different
cause
or
a
different
group
of
causes
or
themes.
I
don't
know,
so
you
guys
tell
me
what
you
want
to
do
well.
D
I
think
we
gave
you
Direction
last
month
and
now
we're
hearing
different
direction
this
month.
So
I
think
from
what
I
hearing
is.
The
Commission
would
like
to
have
people
meet
with
you
and
if
you
want
to
continue
with
it,
then
we
welcome
that
to
come
up
with
a
list
and
determine
what
the
purpose
of
that
list
is,
is
all
about
and
then
bring
it
back
to
the
Commission.
So
we
can
formally
adopt
it
of
so
and
I
just
am
a
little
confused,
because
this
list
does
not
mean
anything
to
us.
D
A
C
D
G
B
D
B
In
my
subcommittee,
it's
been
difficult
for
us
to
meet.
Jilsuk,
of
course,
is
ending
her
term
with
the
Commission
and
David
Morgan
has
a
full-time
job
very
busy
and
Ryan
has
his
own
company.
He
runs
partly.
Why
he's
not
here
today?
So
as
we
move
forward
with
this
project,
I
need
to
have
a
full
subcommittee
that
will
work
towards
this,
because
it
was
a
lot
of
work
last
year
and
also
I
think
it.
It
has
an
impact
on
which
partner
community
partner
we
choose,
because
some
will
be
more
work
than
others.
B
I,
just
don't
think
on
the
heels
of
having
done
a
partnership
with
the
LGBT
Center,
it's
appropriate
at
this
point
in
time,
the
scene,
your
community,
of
course,
there's
many
groups
that
we
could
go
part
partner
with,
but
we
have
already
committed
to
do
something
with
the
Mizell
center,
so
those
two
are
eliminated,
which
leaves
us
with
two
two
other
ones
to
decide
which
one
so
one
is
the
agua
caliente
band
of
Cahuilla
Indians
they're
a
little
more
bureaucratic.
That
would
be
the
issue
there,
but
they
are
willing
to
meet
with
us.
B
We
just
have
not
done
that
yet,
and
they
of
course,
have
the
20/20
opening
of
the
agricultural
center
downtown.
So
that's
going
to
be
a
really
big
deal.
The
woman
I
spoke
to
you
says:
yes,
of
course,
they
have
scholarships
and
those
type
of
things
so
I
definitely
want
to
continue
to
pursue
a
meeting
with
her.
B
H
B
So
it'll
be
me
what
I'd
like
to
I
can
explain
briefly
what
the
program
is
about,
but
what
I
need
first
from
the
community
is:
what
are
the
issues
because
I
can't
go
choose
a
film
I
can't
go,
engage
people
to
help
out
until
I
know.
What's
our
target.
What
are
we
looking
at
so
I'm
hopeful
that
I'll
get
some
feedback
from
them
and
they'll
tell
me
what
it
is
once
that's
done,
then
we
can
move
forward.
B
I
think
it
would
be
appropriate
if
we
did
it
during
Black
History
Month
in
February,
but
that's
just
around
the
corner.
I've
also
reached
out
to
some
other
well-known
african-american
people
in
the
community
who
both
they've
said
they
would
help
with
this
endeavor.
If
we
should
choose
to
move
forward
one's
recent
recipient
of
one
of
our
awards,
Lucy
and
Gayle,
they
said
absolutely
they
would
help
out,
and
the
other
is
my
neighbor
retired
Colonel
Donald
Morgan.
B
B
D
I
didn't
make
the
connection,
so
thank
you.
There's
absolutely
no
reason
whatsoever.
We
can't
have
extended
community
support,
helping
on
the
subcommittee
and
and
I
think
there
there's
a
there's,
a
very
important
conversation
that
needs
to
happen
within
the
community
on
race,
race
relations,
race
in
our
Police
Department,
specifically
race
with
race
and
the
police
department
and
the
LGBT
community.
The
lesbian,
LGBT
community,
the
black
LGBT
community,
so
I
I
would
strongly
push
my
support
go
in
that
direction
and
there
would
be
a
vault
of
educational
opportunities
via
film
that
we
could
access.
D
That
would
really
be
a
basis
for
a
great
educational
opportunity
and
those
are
some
excellent
people
that
have
already
offered
their
help
and
support
and
I
think
that's
going
to
be
vitally
important,
going
down
the
road.
If,
if
this
program
is
going
to
be
a
success,
we
need
to
rely
on
community
support
to
come,
because
we
know
it's
not
going
to
come
necessarily
from
the
commissioners
for
reasons
that
you
stated
in
your
opening
comments
and.
G
Me
too
I
know
you
just
have
to
I.
Think
in
me.
We
said
last
meeting
when
we
were
talking
about
it,
that
in
terms
of
being
a
financial
beneficiary,
this
is
a
perfect
organization.
They
could
really
use
the
money
as
opposed
to
the
Cahuilla
Indians
they're
they're,
pretty
they
pretty
much
can
handle
their
own.
G
B
H
H
B
D
They're
gonna
have
a
lot
of
suggestions
for
us,
and
the
other
thing
I
would
I
would
make
the
suggestion
list.
Let's
not
suggest
a
date,
because
Black
History
Month
may
not
be
the
appropriate
month
for
us
to
do
it,
and,
and
they
can,
the
community
can
help
share
with
us
that
there
may
be
other
opportunities
throughout
the
year
that
this
might
be
more
important
and
not
during
a
month
of
programming
that
they're
already
in
dated
with
okay.
B
D
A
D
F
F
F
Whoa,
that's
kind
of
I
mean
that
in
order
to
be
new
and
the
Commission,
but
we
wouldn't
take
action
today,
yeah
necessarily
about
whatever
it
fits
fine
under
topical
newsworthy,
and
then
we
can
determine
whether
we
have
some
action
to
take
Sharon
or
whatever.
But
here's
what's
on
my
mind,
I
notice,
with
some
degree
of
horror.
It
seems
like
at
least
once
a
week,
maybe
even
more
frequently
these
days
at
the
federal
level.
F
We
are
getting
rather
egregious
policy
statements
that
are
to
me
very
clearly
in
practing,
if
that's
a
verb,
Human
Rights,
particularly
access
to
health
care
on
a
level
playing
field,
most
notably
over
the
last
week.
We
see
proposal
from
the
current
presidential
administration
to
try
and
restrict,
are
not
to
restrict,
but
rather
to
allow
medical
providers
to
not
have
to
provide
care
to
trans
people.
F
Well.
Maybe
our
maybe
agenda
item
just
to
make
sure
we
don't
lose
track
of
this
their
next
meeting
of
where
this
is
how
this
is
unfolding
and
whether
or
not
there
is
room
for
us
to
take
action.
I
wouldn't
be
so
much
this
commission.
So
much
as
this
Commission
recommending
to
City
Council,
perhaps
propria
resolution
and
support
of
the
Human
Rights
involved
and
having
a
level
playing
field
access
to
these
Human
Services.
F
Certainly
we
had
the
precedence
of
it
where
the
council's
taken
the
position
related
to
separating
our
I'm.
Sorry
with
I,
don't
know
if
the
council
de
Alta
I,
don't
have
councils
done
a
resolution
on
separating
parents
at
the
border,
but
I
do
remember
quite
clearly.
The
council
has
taken
a
very
clear
position
on
ice'
involvement
with
the
police
department.
Although
the
police
department
of
course
came
in
and
said,
we've
already
got
policy
and
it
takes
care
of
that,
but
it
has
had
City
Council
attention
as
a
discussion
item,
at
least
in
that
area.
F
So
I
invite
us
I,
guess
I'm,
really
inviting
right
now
that
we
raise
our
sensitivity
at
that
point
and
see
because
I
could
false.
This
commission
I'd
like
to
see
this
Commission
more
actively
identifying
where
there
are
issues
that
are
coming
up
and
being
proactive,
not
just
reacting
the
things
that
have
become
problems.
F
So,
anyway,
any
questions
on
that,
though,
I
think
it's
pretty
it's
it's
loaded,
it's
a
political,
a
art
to
some
I,
don't
consider
this
a
human
issue
at
all.
This
to
me
is
basic
human
rights
and
ethics,
and
if
the
topic
were
to
come
up,
that's
the
position
I
would
take.
Is
that
for
those
who
might
criticize
and
say
well
what
are
we
doing
dealing
with
national
politics?
And
this
is
not
a
partisan
issue
to
me
anyway.
F
D
I
think
I
think
they,
the
discussion
and
the
conversation
is
helpful
for
you
to
bring
it
forward.
I.
Think
as
if
you
identify
an
action,
then
let's
share
that
at
the
next
meeting
that
can
so
we
can
put
it
on
an
agenda
for
for
action
on
behalf
of
the
Commission's.
So
when,
whenever
that
time
is,
if
you,
if
you
see
there's
an
opportunity,
then
you
know
I
invite
you
to
bring
that
forward.
Then.
F
Well,
I
will
and
then
that
that's
a
great
suggestion,
because
that's
unlike
the
HR
list,
which
is
a
zillion
long
so
far
at
least
it's
a
man,
manageable
number
I
can
imagine
that
if
I
sat
down
and
put
my
mind
to
it,
I
could
think
of
five
or
six
top
top
of
my
head
and
probably
a
few
more
but
anything
yes,
I
think
that
makes
good
sense,
Ron,
so
I'll
try
and
come
up
with
some
specific
items.
Well,.
D
I'm,
specifically
talking
about
the
health
care
issue
that
you're
raising
yeah
the
the
issue
of
how
access
to
healthcare.
If
that
is
an
issue
you
want
to
have
as
discussion
item,
that's
bring
it
forward.
As
as
a
magenta
item
that
will,
we
can
include
that
down
the
road,
yeah,
okay,
okay,
so
any
other
topical
newsworthy
items
by
nobody
else
has
any
okay.
I
do
have
one
that
this
is
the
June
is
Pride
Month
internationally,
and
it's
specifically
this
year
were
commemorating
the
50th
anniversary
of
Stonewall
and
in
New
York.
D
D
York
to
the
Facebook,
so
maybe
we
can
do
something
I'll
send
it
to
you,
but
there's
a
there's,
a
Facebook
group
now
that
some
people
get
information
on
the
where
and
wins,
and
what
our
number
is
and
everything
once
we
get
it
identified
and
that's
it
so
item
seven
agenda
items
for
our
next
meeting.
Any
agenda
items
that
we
need
to
make
sure
we've
got
listed.
I
don't
have
any
notes
that
we
talked
about
anything
other
than
the
Commissioner.
D
B
C
B
D
D
B
I
I
want
to
invite
the
people
who
are
organizing
the
lesbo
Expo
for
this
year.
I
think
I
mentioned
to
you
all.
There
used
to
be
a
dyke,
March
and,
and
it
got
moved
and
it
was
a
little
bit
disorganized
and
disarray
so
I'm
told
by
people
who
should
know
that
they're
organized
now
and
they're
gonna
do
a
lesbo,
Expo
I
believe
in
it
alibi
is
that
the
name
of
the
bar
there
right
along
the
parade
route,
so
I
will
invite
someone
to
come
speak
during
the
public
comments
time.
So
we
can
be
informed.
D
Nothing
else
so
then
announcements,
I,
don't
think
we
have
any
announcements
other
than
I
do
want
to
close
I.
Don't
know
if
it's
an
official
last
meeting
for
Commissioner
Sondra
Cena,
because
we
don't
have
a
replacement
for
you
yet
to
come
on
board.
So
I
think
if
you
can
inform
Dale
what
your
intentions
are.
So
we
know
you
know
what's
happening,
you
know
as
we
go
down,
but
today
does
in
six
year
plus
period
of
service
to
the
Commission.
