From YouTube: Parks and Recreation Commission | May 22 2023
Description
Regular meeting of the City of Palm Springs Parks and Recreation Commission, held May 22nd, 2023
A
Meetings
of
the
good
evening,
everybody-
this
is
the
Monday
May
22nd,
2023,
Parks
and
Rec
Commission
meeting,
and
our
various
fearless
leader
is
out
today.
So
Johnny
C
is
going
to
do
what
I
can
to
get
this
get
this
going.
A
Do
you
do
a
call
to
order?
Okay,
we'll
do
a
call
to
order
I'm.
A
And
can
we
have
a
roll
call,
please.
B
Okay,
when
I
say
your
name,
please
indicate
it.
You
are
present.
We've
got
chair
out
for
an
excused
commissioner
Paula
Donato
present.
C
D
C
B
A
Okay,
at
this
time,
we'll
have
public
comment.
This
time
has
been
set
aside
for
members
of
the
public
to
address
Parks
and
Rec
Commission
on
agenda
items
and
items
of
general
interest
within
the
subject
matter:
jurisdiction
of
the
commission.
A
B
Okay,
so
we
we'll
check
to
see
if
we
have
any
members
that
are
joining
us
virtually.
We
would
like
to
make
a
public
comment.
If
so,
please
use
the
raise
your
hand,
feature.
B
B
Report,
okay,
so
like
at
all
meetings,
I
like
to
give
you
a
quick
overview
of
some
of
the
things
that
the
parks
and
recreation
department
has
done
to
get
started.
Just
some
items
of
note
that
recently
went
to
Council
on
April
27th
Council
approved
the
contract
for
our
drought,
tolerant,
landscape,
conversions
for
those
five
parks
that
you've
been
working
on
for
the
past
several
months.
At
that
same
meeting,
they
also
approved
the
contract
for
the
new
playground,
equipment,
origin
of
and
Victoria
parks.
B
B
So
some
maintenance
things
that
are
happening
in
our
Parks,
so
this
is
a
little
snapshot
of
the
Leisure
Center
and
the
Pavilion
as
well
I'm
happy
to
report
that
our
contractors
are
out
there
now
patching.
That's
not
the
painting
yet
so
no
one
panic.
C
B
Just
the
batching
and
they
are
working
on
getting
all
of
our
walls
back
to
pristine
condition.
So
this
work
is
just
beginning
this
week
for
some
other
really
far
outs.
Is
that
too
much?
Hopefully,
that
wasn't
too
much
I
hope
you
guys
got
that
joke
activities
that
we
did
May
the
fourth
be
with
you,
so
Village
Fest
celebrated
Star
Wars
day
on
Thursday,
May,
4th
and
I've
got
some
fun
images
from
that
event.
B
B
B
A
couple
save
the
dates
or
one
actually
really
big
one.
Coming
up
next
Monday
Memorial
Day,
we
have
our
dip
into
Summer
Event,
it's
free
for
anyone
from
11
to
6
it'll,
be
in
Sunrise
Park
in
the
pool
so
come
on
out
from
11
to
6,
Monday
May
29th
for
lots
of
fun,
including
water,
slides
there'll,
be
a
watermelon
toss
and
lots
of
things
for
families
to
do.
B
Other
things
that
are
coming
up
over
at
parks
and
rec
we've
got
some
new
classes
and
camps
that
we've
been
developing.
We've
got
our
summer
line
dance
class
starting
at
joj
on
Friday
June,
9th
4,
30
p.m,
and
that
is
free
for
our
members.
B
We
are
working
on
our
2023
summer
camp
Series,
so
we
have
quite
a
few
camp
programs
that
I
can
now
just
quickly
walk
through,
so
at
joj.
Camp
will
run
this
year
from
June
12th
to
August.
4Th
Camp
runs
from
9
to
2
p.m,
and
that's
for
grades
a
through
eight,
and
we
will
also
send
you
copies
of
these
flyers
as
well.
So
you
have
those
and
camps
will
include
swimming
activities,
field,
trips,
arts
and
crafts,
and
a
lot
more.
B
B
For
our
little
kids,
we
run
camp
chickapoo
for
ages,
three
up
to
kindergarten,
so
same
dates:
June
20th
through
August
4th.
B
At
each
meeting,
I'd
like
to
give
you
an
update
on
how
we're
doing
on
recruitments
and
hiring
so
I'm
happy
to
announce
that
we
have
some
new
staff.
Who've
joined
our
team.
You
will
see
our
latest
park.
Ranger
I.
Think
I
mentioned
at
the
last
meeting
that
we
had
yeah
but
I
didn't
have
all
of
the
images.
B
Recruitments
right
now,
so
we
are
recruiting
right
now
for
our
Aquatics
manager.
We
are
also
recruiting
for
additional
lifeguards,
so
we
had
two
lifeguards
who've
actually
resigned,
so
we
now
have
additional
vacancies
for
lifeguards,
so
those
postings
are
up.
So
if
you
know
anyone
who's
interested
in
being
a
lifeguard,
please
send
them
over
to
the
city's
website
to
apply
and
for
the
recruitment
this
time
we're
opening
it
up
on
just
a
rolling
basis.
So
it
doesn't
have
an
end
date.
B
So,
at
any
time
you
can
apply
and
we
will
start
interviewing
for
lifeguards.
We
are
also
hiring
for
additional
Park
Rangers.
So
our
plan
is
to
have
four
Park
Rangers
and
right
now
we
only
have
two
Park
Rangers,
so
we're
working
on
getting
two
additional
Park
Rangers.
We
are
also
hiring
an
assistant
director
and
we
will
start
the
interviews
for
those
shortly
over
the
next
couple
of
weeks
and
we
are
hiring
for
our
lifeguard
trainings
who
are
in
the
training
process.
B
We
are
also
so
to
run
all
of
those
amazing
camp
programs.
It
really
does
take
an
entire
Community
to
come
together,
so
we
are
also
hiring
our
seasonal
workers,
our
camp
counselors,
as
well
as
our
student
volunteers,
I
think,
with
these
two
numbers
combined,
it's
like
an
additional
I
think
70.
B
staff
members
that
help
us
out
to
run
all
of
those
amazing
programs.
So
we've
got
a
lot
a
lot
of
hiring
underway,
and
that
actually
concludes
my
director's
report.
A
Just
a
quick
question
on
that:
what
what's
the
age
is
there
a
certain
age
that
1816
so.
B
For
our
student
volunteers,
I
guess:
do
you
know
what
it
is?
It's.
B
Okay,
so
we're
looking
for
yeah,
so
high
school
students
for
our
student
volunteers
and
do
you
know
I
can't
counselors
if
there's
an
age
16
is
the
youngest
and
the
camp
counselor
one
is
on
our
website
as
well.
So
I
can
look
that
up
too
to
make
sure
that
everyone
has
that
information.
A
Any
other
questions
from
anybody
I'm
paying.
Let's
go
to
the
next
item-
presentation,
action,
items,
swim
center,
updates.
B
Thanks
so
I
have
just
a
couple
items
that
have
been
in
motion
for
the
swim
center.
B
So
the
Swim
Center
exterior
painting
project
has
been
completed,
so
these
are
just
some
improgress
shots
and
I
will
also
show
you
a
couple
of
her
completed
shots
as
well,
so
The
Swim
Center
is
looking
great
with
its
new
Fresh
coat
of
paints.
You'll
see.
Let
me
wall
there
for
the
freshly
painted
wall,
small
details,
but
it
really
does
look
amazing
yeah.
It
looks
fresh
yeah
and
just
one
other
shot.
B
That's
the
area,
that's
between
the
swim
center
and
the
Leisure
Center
we've
also
added
some
portable
site
Furnishings
to
the
Swim
Center.
So
we
have
three
different
sets
right
now
of
Adirondack
chairs
and
tables
that
are
out
there
and
you
can
see
on
the
far
side
of
the
pool
as
well.
Underneath
that
other
shade
structure,
I,
think
you
can
see
a
couple
of
the
chairs
that
are
over
there,
so
just
a
few
to
create
a
slightly
more
welcoming
environment
and
another
angle
of
those
chairs.
B
And
we
are
also
working
on
some
additional
chair
Styles
and
we
will
also
work
on
benches
and
other
types
of
side
Furnishings
as
well,
so
the
lounge
chair
will
be
coming
soon.
B
We're
working
on
as
part
of
the
feedback
that
we
received
some
of
our
swim
patrons
wanted
better
signage
at
the
Swim
Center,
so
we
are
working
on
some
Concepts
or
some
branded
signage.
That
makes
it
clearer
to
know
where
to
go
to
access
those
amenities.
B
We
also
received
a
lot
of
feedback
that
the
calendar
for
the
swim
center
I
wasn't
clear
and
a
lot
of
our
swim
patrons
weren't
sure
which
days
were
holidays
at
the
Swim
Center,
because
the
Swim
Center
does
have
different
holidays
than
the
rest
of
the
city.
So
we
have
created
a
new
2023
calendar
of
the
holidays
of
the
Swim
Center.
B
So
as
you'll
see
on
the
screen
there-
and
we
do
have
I
think
of
posting
at
the
front
check-in
area
the
days
that
are
actually
holidays
where
we
will
be
closed
and
we
do
modified
hours
on
some
of
the
other
holidays,
so,
for
instance,
on
Labor
Day,
for
instance,
we're
open
from
eight
to
one.
So
we
will
get
this
posted
on
the
website
as
well.
So
it
is
clear
for
our
community
to
know
which
days
we're
open
foreign.
B
Staffing
is
obviously
always
really
critical
at
the
Swim
Center.
At
a
previous
meeting,
when
I
gave
a
presentation,
I
talked
about
how
we
stacked
the
snow
Center,
so
we
staffed
the
swim
center
with
our
Parks
and
Rec
lifeguard,
so
they're
city
employees
that
work
for
the
Parks
and
Recreation
Department
and
their
full-time
job
or
part-time
job
is
to
be
a
lifeguard
on
an
as
needed
basis.
We
do
work
with
temporary
lifeguards.
So
when
we
have
our
staff
who
may
be
out,
then
we
actually
work
with
temporary
lifeguards
to
kind
of
fill
in.
B
We
also
have
created
a
third
strategy
for
making
sure
that
we
have
enough
lifeguards
at
the
pool,
so
we
now
have
Parks
and
Recreation
staff
members
who
will
be
getting
leopard
certification
as
backup.
So
right
now,
all
of
our
Parks
and
Rec
employees
have
CPR
certification,
for
instance.
So
we
have
pulled
the
department
to
see
who'd
be
interested
in
also
getting
lifeguard
certification
on
those
days.
We're
remaining
additional
background
up
and
we
found
several
staff
members
who
are
excited
about
getting
their
lifeguard
certification.
B
So
we've
had
one
staff
member
so
far,
go
through
the
training
over
the
weekend
and
I
think
he'll
be
testing
tomorrow,
so
we'll
have
our
first
Parks
and
Rec
staff.
Network
who's,
also
a
backup
lifeguard
for
us.
So
we
now
have
a
sort
of
a
three-part
sort
of
strategy
for
keeping
of
Staffing
up
to
our
needs
at
the
Swim
Center.
B
I
showed
this
graphic
before
so.
This
is
the
organizational
structure
that
we
have
for
the
swim
center.
So
with
that
new
aquatic
manager
position
that
we
created,
we
will
have
a
better
growth
ladder
for
our
lifeguard
Series,
so
someone
can
start
as
a
lifeguard
or
a
lifeguard
trainee
and
then
work
their
way
up
to
a
management
level
position
in
our
department
and
after
the
Aquatic
manager
position.
B
Those
employees,
then
you
know,
might
take
a
different
position
where
they
might
be
interested
in
managing
a
larger
facility,
like
maybe
one
of
our
other
community
centers,
so
we're
trying
to
make
sure
that
we
are
retaining
our
existing
staff
and
that
we
actually
have
good
growth
ladders
for
every
for
every
class
spec.
In
terms
of
where
we're
hiring
right.
Now
we
sort
of
have
our
middle
Fields,
our
aquatic
supervisor
and
our
lead.
Lifeguard
positions
are
filled.
We
are
recruiting
for
that
aquatic
manager,
position
right
now
and
that
position
actually
closes.
B
Hours
for
the
swim
center,
so
Monday
through
Saturday,
we're
open
from
seven
to
three
with
hours
on
Sunday
is
eight
to
three.
On
May
1st
I
mentioned
that
we
were
going
to
start
a
new
sort
of
hybrid
strategy
for
reservations
and
drop-in
swim.
So
we've
been
doing
that
successfully
through
the
month
of
May.
So
right
now,
anytime,
between
7
to
11
Monday
through
Saturday
swim
patrons
can
come
with
reservations
with
Advanced
reservations
or
they
can
come
for
just
drop-in
swim.
B
So
we've
got
lanes
that
are
dedicated
for
those
book
reservations
as
well
as
lanes
that
are
dedicated
for
people
who
don't
like
to
make
advanced
reservations
and
just
want
to
show
up
and
then
on
Sundays
we're
still
doing
our
same
system,
which
is
No
Reservations
on
Sundays.
So
we'll
continue
that
pilot,
but,
like
I
said
so
far,
that's
been
working
smoothly
from
what
I've
heard
from
our
aquatic
supervisor
foreign.
B
So
this
visual
just
shows
you
our
community
outreach
plan.
So
we
have
been
increasing
our
Outreach
and
engagement
with
the
community
to
try
to
address
some
of
those
areas
where
our
swim,
patrons
and
users
wanted
additional
improvements
to
be
made
to
the
Swim
Center.
B
So
back
on
April
11th,
we
had
a
community
meeting
with
the
city
manager
and
then
at
the
April
24th
Parks
and
Rec
commission
meeting
we've
provided
some
additional
updates
on
the
swim
center
on
April
26th,
we
launched
a
new
survey
to
help
us
prioritize
the
needs
of
the
community
May
1st.
We
issued
our
new
pilot
reservation
system,
which
I
just
spoke
about
May
11th
that
survey
closed
and
then
on
May
16th.
B
We
did
a
second
community
meeting
with
our
city
manager,
and
that
brings
us
to
May
22nd,
which
is
today
and
using
this
meeting
as
another
way
that
we
can
be
communicating
to
the
community
about
what
is
happening
over
at
swim
Center.
In
terms
of
where
we
would
be
going
from
here.
Our
Swim
Center
ad
hoc
will
be
working
with
the
community
on
those
additional
Outreach
meetings.
So
I
just
wanted
to
show
you
what
we've
done
over
the
past
month
and
a
half.
B
This
is
just
a
reminder
about
that:
April,
11th
city
manager,
working
group
session
that
we
had
this
one
was
incredibly
well
attended.
We
really
had
a
pact
Pavilion
and
at
this
meeting
we
divided
the
community
into
four
different
focus
groups
area
to
provide
a
significant
feedback
on
those
areas
that
that
seem
to
be
the
largest
pain
points
for
the
community
and
those
were
some
of
the
operations.
B
Some
of
the
infrastructure
improvements
that
needed
to
take
place,
of
course,
Staffing,
and
then
we
had
one
category
which
was
just
other
as
a
catch-all
on
May
16th.
We
did
our
second
city
manager
working
group
session
and
the
format
of
this
meeting
was
just
a
little
bit
different.
B
So
for
this
meeting
we
provided
some
presentations,
so
our
city
manager
gave
an
overview
of
the
fy24
fy25
budget
and
how
that
relates
to
the
swing
center,
with
the
request
that
we'll
be
requesting
from
Council
for
an
additional
750
000
to
be
allocated
towards
Swim
Center
improvements
in
the
next
fiscal
year,
our
assistant
city
manager,
Theresa
Galvan,
gave
an
update
on
Staffing
for
the
swim
center,
which
also
includes
a
council
request
that
we
add
head
count
for
one
additional
lifeguard
in
fy24.
B
Our
facilities.
Department
also
gave
an
update
on
or
tried
to
provide
some
clarification
too
and
an
update
on
how
the
facility
is
maintained
from
our
janitorial
and
custodial
agreements
versus
the
work
that
our
staff
lifeguards
do.
Our
city
engineer
also
provided
an
update
then
on
the
construction
projects
as
well
as
timeline,
and
then
we
broke
out
into
different
groups
to
go
over
some
of
those
survey
results
and
those
survey
results.
I
will
quickly
walk
you
through
right
now,
so
the
survey
that
we
launched
online
was
really
focused
on.
B
We
received
a
significant
amount
of
feedback
at
the
April
11th
meeting
and
we
needed
a
way
to
sort
of
work
with
the
community
to
try
to
prioritize
well.
What
should
we
work
on
first?
So
the
survey
was
up
for
about
two
weeks.
B
We
had
153
responses
and
there
were
only
three
simple
questions
on
the
survey
question
number
one
was
for
our
swim,
patrons
and
users
to
help
us
prioritize,
which
items
were
the
most
important
to
them,
and
these
items
were
identified
from
that
April
11th
meeting
as
the
items
that
we
heard
the
most
so
for
this
question,
what
you
would
have
done
is
you
would
have
selected
up
to
five
items
that
you
thought
the
city
should
work
on
first.
B
This
shows
the
graphic
then
of
those
priorities
and
then,
as
you
can
see,
these
three
areas
here
were
the
ones
that
we
received
the
most
interest
in
and
I'll
quickly,
walk
you
through
those
the
highest
priority
was
to
implement
a
text
notification
system
so
because
we
had
so
many
schedule,
changes
and
closures
to
the
Swim
Center
over
the
past
couple
of
months.
What
we
really
heard
from
the
community
was
that
we
needed
better
ways
to
be
communicating
when
the
pool
was
going
to
be
closed,
so
that
text
notification
system
was
the
number
one
priority.
B
The
second
item
that
came
up
as
a
priority
then
was
to
consider
extending
the
swim
hours
in
the
evenings,
and
then
the
third
priority
was
to
implement
some
sort
of
penalty
or
some
sort
of
process
for
those
who
make
reservations
and
then
don't
show
up
for
a
reservation
time.
B
Slot
So,
based
on
the
data
that
we
saw,
those
were
at
least
the
three
areas
that
we've
got:
staff
working
on
right
now
with
our
Swim
Center
ad
hoc
and
trying
to
come
up
with
ideas
to
be
able
to
implement
some
of
those
and
a
little
bit
later
in
tonight's
presentation.
I'll
talk
a
little
bit
more
about
the
text
notification
system.
B
Question
number
two
was
really
a.
It
was
a
open-ended
just
sort
of
fill
in
the
blank
question.
B
The
I
printed
copies
here
in
the
room,
and
these
will
also
be
posted
on
the
website
if
they're
not
posted
there
yet,
but
that's
where
we
also
received
just
additional
feedback
on
the
areas
that
the
community
wants
us
to
continue
to
concentrate
on
as
well.
So
that
was
question
two
question
two
was
optional,
so
we
had
147
responses
on
that
one,
and
that
was
almost
everyone
decided
to
provide
some
feedback
on
question
two
and
then
question
three
was
super
simple.
B
We
just
wanted
to
check
the
format
of
the
survey
that
we
used
to
see.
You
know
if
that
format
worked.
So
86
percent
indicated
that
it
was
extremely
easy,
with
the
orange
sort
of
Pi
area
being
the
somewhat
easy
and
then
obviously
neutral,
and
we
did
have
one
person
who
indicated
that
was
extremely,
not
easy,
but
by
and
large
I
think.
The
format
that
we
use
is
probably
a
good
format
for
implementing
our
surveys.
B
Text
notification
system,
so
we've
been
working
with
our
it
Department
to
figure
out
a
way
to
not
have
to
recreate
the
whole
wheel
and
to
be
able
to
quickly
come
up
with
a
system
that
we
can
tile
it
for
text
notifications.
So
the
system
that
we've
decided
to
use
is
the
same
system
that
the
community
right
now
uses
to
sign
up
for
emergencies.
B
So
it's
the
emergency
alert
system
where
you
might
sign
up
for
notices
about
road
closures,
fire
police
things
like
that,
so
what
we
are
doing
is
there
is
now
a
check
box
for
Parks
and
Recreation.
So
this
is
proactive
in
that
the
user
will
decide
whether
or
not
they
want
to
receive
text
notifications
and
then
anytime,
you
can
go
back
into
your
account
change
your
phone
number
and
then
we
would
use
this
not
to
notify
the
community
about
every
little
thing.
B
That's
happening
at
the
Swim
Center,
we'll
still
use
our
website
and
signage
an
email
to
do
that.
But
this
text
notification
system
would
be
used.
For
instance,
if
there
was
an
unexpected
closure
to
the
swim
center
and
we're
hoping
that
this
system
would
decrease
all
those
times
where
our
community
may
have
been
coming
to
the
center
and
not
knowing
that
the
facility
was
closed,
so
this
is
in
development.
B
We're
testing
it
right
now
and
we
are
I
think
ready
to
go,
live
on
June
1st
after
we
just
work
out
some
of
the
little
preliminary
bugs
on
the
system,
but
otherwise
everything's
kind
of
in
place,
and
we've
just
got
our
staff
sort
of
signing
up
right
now
to
test
the
system
and
that
completes
the
updates
on
the
Swim
Center.
Are
there
any
questions
on
Swim
Center.
E
I
just
want
to
let
everybody
know
that
on
yeah
next
May,
the
31st
is
the
first
ad
hoc
meeting
and
it's
at
the
Leisure
Center
at
5
30
p.m.
So
that's
members
of
the
community
plus
your
commissioners.
B
Will
put
the
so
for
those
who
aren't
familiar
with
this
system,
we
will
put
that
link
on
the
Swim
Center
page
of
our
website.
So
then
you
can
just
sign
up
from
your
computer.
A
I
think
it'd
be
a
good
idea
for
the
Commissioners
to
do
it.
Just
I
think
that's
great
too.
You
know
what
I
mean
so
that
we
can
kind
of
get
a
feel
for
it
too.
I
actually
wanted
to
sign
up
for
the
city,
one
for
the
road
closures,
because
I
always
get
caught
when
there's
land
in
Gene,
Autry's
clothes
and
Indians
club
and
I
got
to
go
down
to
Vista,
Chino
and
yeah.
F
With
the
survey
I
know,
it
showed
the
amount
of
responses
and
the
time
it
took
was
there
a
way
or
did
we
check
track
the
average
age
of
the
survey
responding?
We.
B
Okay,
so
for
this
item,
I
just
wanted
to
remind
our
commission
about
our
upcoming
meetings
and
particularly
walk
through
our
next
four
meetings,
so
June
July,
August
and
September.
Just
so,
we
have
a
bit
of
a
road
map
of
what
we
will
be
doing,
so
our
June
meeting
will
be
on
June
26th.
This
is
our
last
meeting
of
our
fiscal
year
and
at
this
meeting
we
had
planned
to
do
sort
of
an
end
of
year
review
and
also
request
your
feedback
on
how
the
year
went
in
terms
of
what
we
accomplished.
B
So
staff
right
now
is
working
on
preparing
that
presentation,
foreign
at
the
July
meeting,
Gillette
Monday,
July
24th.
That
will
be
our
first
meeting
of
the
fishbone
year,
so
we
will
provide
our
fiscal
year.
24
updates,
including
any
budget
related
updates.
At
that
meeting,
we
would
also
be
welcoming
new
Commissioners,
so
we
are
expected
to
get
additional
Commissioners
because
right
now
we're
carrying
some
vacancies.
B
We
would
also
have
action
items
to
select
our
chair
for
fy24,
as
well
as
select
our
vice
chair
for
fy24,
and
then
we
would
also
have
an
action
item
to
select
our
ad
hoc
groups
for
the
year.
So
we
would
look
at
those
existing
six
ad
hocs
that
we
have
right
now
and
then
determine
which
we
need
moving
forward
as
well
as
which
Commissioners
would
be
assigned
to
each
our
August
meeting.
B
We
traditionally
go
dark
in
August,
so
we
would
not
be
having
a
meeting
then,
which
means
that
by
the
time
we
get
to
September,
we
will
be
Full
Speed
Ahead.
Then
everyone
will
be
onboarded
and
we'll
be
ready
to
go
with
our
fy24
priorities,
and
that
was
all
I
wanted
to
provide
in
terms
of
an
update
of
our
commission,
our
calendar.
A
Okay,
next
would
be
the
ad
hoc
commissioner
updates,
maybe
maybe
comments,
but
any
updates
on
the
additional
or
ad
hoc
committees.
A
E
So
we
closed
the
city
hall
dog
park
for
residing
in
April,
and
it's
due
to
be
reopened
on
June
the
12th.
Are
we
going
to
do
the
tennis
ball
giveaway
on
June
12th
that'd
be
good,
so
come
out
to
the
City
Hall
dog
bark
and
get
yourself
a
tennis
ball
I
drove
past
it
out
of
my
way
here
tonight,
just
to
see
how
it
looks.
It
looks
pretty
green
and
great
right
now,
we'll
see
what
happens.
You
know
five
weeks
after
it's
opened
again
right,
but
it
looks
great
right
now.
E
Then
we
also
have
a
small
bar
yeah,
this
small
dog
park
in
Dumas
Park,
that
little,
if
there
can
everybody
see
that
the
little
graphic
there
with
the
white
with
the
red
around
it
and
that's
where
it's
located?
It's
if
you
go
past
the
current
large
dog
park
down
that
road
to
where
it
kind
of
ends
and
then
go
back
behind
the
ball
fields.
E
That's
where
it
is
so
we're
just
going
to
be
fencing
it
for
right
now,
it'll
be
a
pretty
Bare
Bones,
but
at
least
it'll
be
a
place
to
bring
your
small
dogs
as
opposed
to
your
large
dogs
and
that's
in
the
mood
Park,
and
we
have
the
shade
structure
for
the
large
dog
park
in
dubuth
park.
E
There's
a
little
bit
of
delay
on
getting
this
put
in,
but
it
should
be
put
in
around
September
or
October.
I
was
also
there.
Before
this
meeting.
There
were
three
people,
four
dogs
there.
Everybody
seems
to
be
getting
along
so.
A
B
Don't
you
know,
I,
don't
I'll
check
with
engineering
as
well
as
the
reserved
planning
team
to
get
an
update
on
that
project.
A
Okay,
next
ad
hoc
pickleball,
you.
C
Is
moving
progressively
I'm
doing
well
just
to
let
everyone
know
that
that
Envoy,
the
state
May
31st
the
and
our
committee
will
have
a
meeting
at
1
30
in
the
afternoon.
C
As
we
get
into
the
main
portion
of
July
this
year,
final
determination.
C
Or
seeking
to
comment
competitional
courts
for
that
site,
we
have
other
concerns
for
there,
as
well
as
far
as
Landscaping
issues,
those
kind
of
outcomes
about
that.
Hopefully,
they'll
be
minimal
disruption
in
that
regard.
C
We're
looking
to
keep
an
eye
toward
what
we're
going
to
do
for
parking
Arrangements,
because
it's
a
very
popular
location,
not
just
an
apartment,
but
also
for
other
items
and
issues
as
well,
that
we
enjoy
the
property
of
the
animal
shelter.
So.
C
Become
aware
of
any
complaints,
but
in
touch
with
some
issues
for
apartment
and
that
is
suddenly
marking
landscaping
and
just
overall
design.
We
want
to
make
sure
that
as
soon
as
successful
and
those
things
consultant
is
chosen
and
we
have
a
sit-down
session
of
planning
or
regarding
that
we
have
some
residual
issues
and
we're
trying
to
get
some
resolution
on
your
applicable
for
the
current
course.
C
As
we
progress
into
divided
by
three,
we
will
have
a
resurfacing
process
which
will
be
going
on
and
also
we
want
to
address
supporting
issues.
Some
of
those
have
said
that
the
government,
of
course,
in
editing
hours
so.
C
Those
are
kinds
of
things
that
three
exhibitious
resolution
on
those,
but
the
team
recognizing
up
and
excited
as
we
go
forward
with
a
bang,
and
we
hope
that
we're
really
what
city
monsters
on
to
them
by
the
edition
of
these
courts.
There's
long-term
evening
auditory,
possibility
leak,
extension
and
also
in
some
way
on
the
road.
C
Like
a
special
and
something
along
what
we
see
over
in
the
Indian
Wells,
so.
C
Enthusiastic
they've
gone
to
the
meetings.
They've
got
any
opportunity
online
moments
on
what's
happening
and
what
needs
to
be
addressed
and
resolution
on
those
things.
So
people
is
Jamie
Brown.
F
I've
got
a
question
about
pickleball
the
construction
of
the
new
courts.
I
know,
you
said
it's
still
in
the
design
phases.
Do
we
know
where
the
courts
will
be
located.
C
That's
that's
going
to
be
decided.
We
have
some
idea
of
what
we're
thinking
we'd
like
to,
but
again
this
again
project
on
that
it's
going
to
be
a
matter
of
when
the
consultants.
C
C
Because
there's
so
many
characters
who
might
have
little
responses
going
on
I'm,
very
excited,
yeah.
C
The
singular
tennis
court
is
vacant,
so
those
Americans
want
to
take
consideration.
You
know
there
was
a
big
discussion
in
2019
between
the
tests,
devotees
and
the
resolution
of
that
stuff.
That
I
wanted
to
find
was
that
I
was
running
on
it
would
be
paying
attention
would
mean
phenomenally
would
be
available,
with
the
exception
of
one
single
story,
because.
B
Anything
on
that
or
yeah
for
that
one,
since
the
contract
has
been
awarded,
I
think
it's
going
to
the
Planning
Commission
as
well,
to
just
make
sure
that
it
needs
the
city's
planning
standards
and
then
next
step,
then
that
ad
hoc
will
be
working
on
the
sequencing
for
the
order
of
which
parts
will
be
converted.
First.
D
I
can
speak
to
that,
so
we
previously
provided
an
update
that
we
had
like
a
hundred
thousand
dollar
budget
in
order
to
send
out
our
RFP
for
the
master
plan
in
general,
the
focuses
of
the
master
plan.
D
We
wanted
to
make
sure
we're
tailored
to
someone
who
could
appreciate
the
geographic
nuances
and
the
environmental
nuances
that
Palm
Springs
experiences,
especially
with
respect
to
wind
and
heat
for
sustainability
purposes,
and
as
far
as
listening
to
community
feedback,
which
we
wanted
to
integrate
into
the
greater
master
plan
area,
we
are
also
going
to
be
requesting
an
additional
100
000
fire,
a
specialized
consultant
to
develop
and
plan
and
conduct
the
feasibility
study
for
incorporating
interactive
water
play
areas
into
the
currently
existing
Parks.
D
That
is
based
off
of
a
number
of
community
responses
to
the
desire
to
have
water
features
that
are
accessible
to
numerous
communities
in
the
already
existing
structures
that
we
have,
and
in
order
to
just
provide
some
clarity.
This
is
going
to
be
an
additional
request
for
for
proposals.
D
So
we
have
the
one
track,
which
is
the
general
plan,
which
is
the
normal
10-year
plan
and
then
the
second
track,
which
is
going
to
be
this
water
feature
proposal,
so
we're
hoping
that
we
can
run
them
on
Parallel
tracks
because
obviously
they're
interconnected.
But
right
now
the
community
has
really
provided
a
lot
of
the
human
feedback
about
the
desire
to
have
water
features
accessible
in
the
public
spaces,
and
especially
because
we
have
only
one
municipal
pool
right
now-
and
you
know,
part
of
the
discourse
has
come
up
with
a
swim
center.
D
Conversation
is
in
respect
to
a
growing
population.
Is
this
something
that
we
want
to
address?
Maybe
down
the
line
as
as
far
as
trying
to
incorporate
into
the
master
plan
additional
swim
centers
in
different
parts
of
the
city,
but
as
sort
of
a
subset
of
that?
The
idea
of
water
areas
for
for
Access
is
is
really
important.
So
the
committee
feels
like
the
best
way
to
accomplish
this
is
to
have
sort
of
two
tracks
running
within
the
master
plan
to
to
get
this
accomplished.
D
D
It's
a
little
bit
of
a
slow
process,
but
we're
definitely
trying
to
take
into
consideration
Community
feedback
as
to
what
people
are
looking
for
over
the
next
10
years
in
Palm
Springs,
and
we
really
want
to
be
able
to
create
a
framework
that
people
can
work
off
of
Pretty
organically,
so
positive.
Overall.
A
Great
work
Susie,
who
have
any
questions,
any
comments
for
commissioner
Meyer,
okay,
I,
know,
Jerry's
out
and
I
think
he
does
a
park
enhancement.
Is
that
correct?
Do.
B
D
This
is
commissioner
Meyer
I
just
had
a
quick
question
for
for
Yvonne
and
just
I
realize
I'm
on
the
swim
center
and
subcommittee,
but
you
commented
on
the
or
we
commented
on
the
tech
session
system,
which
I
think
is
incredible,
and
I
really
wanted.
I
want
to
really
want
to
applaud
how
sort
of
forward
thinking
that
is
to
use
the
structure
we
have
that's
already
available.
D
I
was
curious
if
you
could
speak
on
the
issue
of
expanding
hours
into
maybe
non-traditional
hours,
I
know
as
it
gets
hotter
in
the
summer.
A
lot
of
people
prefer
to
be
out
later
at
night
and
I
know
that
it's
probably
unusual
to
have
a
municipality
Service
open
late
at
night,
but
are
there
other
sort
of
challenges
that
are
presented
by
a
proposed
sort
of
after
hours
schedule?
I
was
just
curious.
D
B
Yeah,
so
the
the
Swim
Center
ad
hoc
will
have
to
do
a
little
bit
more
of
a
deep
dive
on
it,
but
right
now,
Monday
through
Fridays
the
pool
gets
used
in
the
evening
hours
by
our
swim
teams
and
our
high
school.
So
we
would
need
to
look
at
the
structure
of
those
agreements,
Saturdays
and
Sundays
in
the
evenings.
It
doesn't
typically
get
used
by
those
groups
and
they
only
get
used
like
on
a
Saturday
if
there's
like
a
large
swim
meet
or
something
like
that.
B
But
can
we
just
right
now
like
extend
the
hours
of
the
bull
without
having
impacts
to
other
groups?
We
can't
because
right
now
we
already
have
team,
or
we
already
have
groups
that
are
using
the
full
until
about
seven,
so
we
would
have
to
modify
agreements
and
really
just
figure
out
the
best
strategy
for
that.
What
we
don't
know
right
now
from
the
community
is,
is
it
certain
days
of
the
week
that
they
would
prefer
that
the
pool
be
open,
late
hours,
so
I
think
in
working
together?
D
Definitely,
and
obviously
that
that
brings
in
the
idea
of
maybe
wanting
to
do
a
pilot
program
or
something
like
that,
but
I
think
that's
super
helpful
just
to
know
that
the
space
is
being
utilized
and
I
think
that
those
swords
what
a
lot
of
the
people
in
the
survey
we're
speaking
about,
which
is
maybe
their
you
know,
future
interests
for
an
additional,
an
additional
facility,
but
we're
trying
our
best
to
to
accommodate
that
kind
of
thing
through
it's
a
master
plan.
So
thank
you
for
speaking
to
that
absolutely.
C
Commissioner,
family,
yes
I
just
wanted
to
at
this
point
in
time,
convey
my
thanks
to
Yvonne
assistant
city
manager,
the
two
individuals
this
evening.
We
need
to
have
a
lot
of
territory,
but
we're
going
to
ad
hoc's
foreign.
C
F
F
It
represents
Independence
Day
for
African
Americans
people
across
the
country
recognize
and
honor
this
day
by
celebrating
the
emancipation
of
people
who
are
enslaved,
and
it
dates
back
to
June,
19
1865,
so
we'll
be
having
a
celebration
on
that
evening
with
educational
fun,
cultural
activities,
food
and
live
entertainment
there
in
the
park
as
well
and
there'll,
be
a
lot
of
vendor
booths
with
different
information
as
well.
So
we'd
love
to
have
all
you
guys
come
out
and
join
in
the
fun.
If
you
can
and.
G
No
questions
just
a
comment:
the
night
before
that
as
well
on
June
16th.
We
are
also
host
it's
a
Friday
night,
we're
also
hosting
a
pageant,
a
Juneteenth
pageant
at
the
James
or
Jesse
James,
o
Jesse
desert
Highland
Unity
center
as
well
the
evening
prior.
So
please
come
on
out
and
support
all
the
youth
that'll
be
taking
part
in
that
pageant
up
there
at
the
center.
A
All
right,
thanks,
yeah
and
just
on
behalf
of
I'm,
not
and
I
I,
think
I
can
speak
for
the
Commissioners
just
that
the
cities
do
on
everything
they
can
and
we're
moving
forward
on
a
lot
of
projects
that
I'm
not
going
to
say
we're
stalled.
But
you
know
it.
This
is
it's:
it's
city
government
things
take
some
time,
but
we're
moving
the
right
direction.
A
It
does
take
time,
but
I
was
on
the
pickleball
Committee
in
the
past
and
I'll
tell
you
that's
that's
a
job
in
the
new
Swim
Center
I
mean
kudos
to
you
and
all
the
hard
work
that
the
city's
doing
so
great
job
Yvonne
Janet
Janice.
A
Thank
you
I
think!
That's
it!
Maybe
all
right.
So
at
this
time,
I'd
like
to
adjourn
the
next
regular
meeting
is
going
to
be
June
26th
at
5
30.
we're
going
to
meet
here
again
correct
thanks.
It's
beautiful
it's
good
to
see
all
your
faces
by
the
way,
I
kind
of
miss
this.
It's
been
about
three
years
for
me.
So
I
love,
it
love
to
see
everybody
so
I
guess
we
will
adjourn
and
it
is
6
24..
Okay,
thank
you
very
much
have
a
good
evening
thanks.
