From YouTube: Library Board Meeting | September 1, 2021
Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
A
B
Wonderful,
so,
let's
call
the
meeting
to
order.
The
time
is
5
33
on
september,
the
1st
2021,
and
this
is
a
call
to
order
for
the
palm
springs
public
library
board
of
trustees.
It's
it's
so
nice
to
see
everybody
after
our
month
off
and
more
importantly,
it's
nice
to
see
new
trustees
joining
us.
B
So
I'd
like
to
officially
welcome
david
and
al
to
the
group,
we're
so
glad
you're
here
and
we're
so
glad
that
it
happened
so
quickly
that
we
weren't
sitting
with
vacancies
for
too
long,
and
I
think
that
you'll
really
enjoy
being
a
part
of
this
very
important
board
and
we
look
forward
to
your
participation
so
welcome
to
both
of
you.
Thank
you.
Thank.
C
B
You'll
find
that,
even
though
we're
we're
pretty
formal
we're,
also
informal,
so
you
know
it's
it's
about
five
people
who
really
care
a
lot
about
the
library
and
and
the
business
at
hand
and
making
sure
that
the
library
has
what
they
need.
So
it's
we
try
to
run
this
meeting
as
formally
as
possible,
but
yet
we
are,
we
understand.
People
have
thoughts
and
ideas.
So
if
you
have
anything,
just
raise
your
hand
so
I'd
like
to
have
jeannie,
if
you
don't
mind,
can
you
do
the
roll
call.
D
C
C
B
Thank
you.
How
about
the
acceptance
of
the
agenda
genie.
B
A
I
know
who
I
am
I'm
jeannie
case-
I'm
the
library
director
and
I
just
celebrated
my
ninth
anniversary
at
the
library
and
before
that
I
worked
almost
10
years
at
riverside
county
library
system.
So
I've
been
in
the
valley
since.
A
Well,
I
don't
know
what
I
broke
up
on
and
you
wouldn't
know
I've
been
here
nine
years
I've
been
in
the
valley
since
2002.
A
Are
yes
good
idea,
so
lisa
brock
is
our
operations
manager
and
she
takes
our
minutes.
So
thank
you
lisa
for
that.
We
really
appreciate
it
and
then
julie.
Warren
is
back
with
the
library,
she's,
our
library
services
and
public
relations
manager
and
if
either
one
of
you
want
to
say
something.
That's
fine
with
me.
You
have
something
you
want
to
say
on
the
slide.
E
D
B
There
they
go
so
I'll
start
off.
My
name
is
ed
mcbride.
I
am
the
current
president
of
the
board
of
trustees.
I've
been
a
trustee
member.
Now
I
think
I'm
going
into
my
fifth
year.
Is
that
correct
jeannie?
I
think
I've
been
doing
about
five
years
now
professionally.
I
am
a
librarian.
B
I
was
a
librarian,
a
public
librarian
for
20
plus
years,
and
then
I
went
into
publishing
for
libraries
for
25
more
years
and
decided
that
I
was
going
to
leave
it
all
behind
and
move
to
palm
springs
and
open
up
a
men's
hair
salon.
So
there's
lots
of
stories
behind
that
that
someday
we
I'll
share
with
you,
but
I'm
now
a
business
owner
here
in
palm
springs
very
proud
to
be
a
part
of
this
organization.
B
It's
a
great
organization
and
I
think,
we're
very
blessed
in
many
ways
as
you'll
find
out
as
we
kind
of
go
through
this
journey
even
today,
and
learn
the
resources
we
have
available
and
just
how
much
our
community
loves
the
library
so
you're
on
a
board
where,
if
you
mentioned
you
were
in
the
library
it,
I
can't
tell
you.
I
never
hear
anyone
not
say.
E
I'm
craig
borba
I've
been
in
palm
springs
since
1986.,
I
was
retired,
as
assistant
superintendent
of
schools
in
palm
springs.
I've
been
a
member
of
the
board
of
trustees
for
the
last
two
years.
A
member
of
the
friends
and
also
a
member
of
the
palm
springs
public
library
foundation
and
presently
I'm
an
educational
consultant.
B
D
Hi
I'm
juanita
garner,
I
have
been
in
palm
springs
since
1965
when
my
family
moved
here
from
aguascalientes
mexico.
I
grew
up
around
the
library,
not
this
particular
one.
It
was
around
when
I
first
got
here,
but
my
children
most
certainly
grew
up
in
the
palm
springs
library.
We
spent
so
much
time
with
them
there
as
they
were
growing
up,
they
loved
it.
D
It
was
their
favorite
place
to
go,
and
I
now
work
for
palm
springs,
unified
school
district
as
a
paraprofessional
and
again
I'm
always
telling
my
students
to
go
to
the
library,
because
it's
the
most
fabulous
place
on
earth.
I
I
mean
I
really
feel
that
kids
get
to
learn
so
much
just
enjoying
the
library,
so
I'm
really
excited
to
be
part
of
this
board
and
I
I'm
very
new
to
it,
but
I'm
learning
every
single
day.
So
thank
you.
F
Yeah,
well,
it's
certainly
a
pleasure
to
meet
you
all.
You
know
my
name
is
david
dorgaard
and
I'm
one
of
the
new
members
on
the
board.
F
I
have
a
pretty
a
strong
belief
in
the
great
value
of
public
libraries
for
this
community
and
really
every
community
professionally,
I'm
still
working,
not
retired
yet,
but
looking
ahead
to
that
at
some
point
I
am
on
the
faculty
of
a
small
private
university
called
antioch
university,
which
is
headquartered
in
ohio
but
has
an
online
division
and
campuses
on
the
west
coast.
So
I
teach
in
its
graduate
management
studies
area
specifically
on
such
matters
as
fundraising
and
board
governance.
So
that's
sort
of
my
bailly
way.
Wonderful,
let's
see
what
else!
C
C
B
C
C
I
was
in
the
office
of
the
chancellor
for
the
california
state
university
system
for
30
years
I
oversaw
26
programs
for
23
campuses.
The
liaisons
really
were
with
the
provost
and
vice
president
of
student
affairs.
So
academic
outreach
admission
financial
aid.
You
know
26
programs,
I
won't
bore
you
with
all
of
them.
C
I
helped
bring
up
three
campuses:
csu
san
marcos,
monterey
bay
and
channel
islands
in
my
career
so
and
then
I
spent
five
years
in
a
special
assignment
in
washington
dc
to
help
implement
the
new
standards
in
english,
language,
arts
and
mathematics
called
the
common
core
state
standards.
I
did
that
from
2010
to
2015
and
then
I
just
recently
completed
a
19-month
stint
as
a
project
director
for
the
state
of
california's
bill
gates
and
melinda
gates,
grant
to
develop
a
longitudinal
student
database
from
pre-k
all
the
way
through
k-12
higher
education,
the
workforce.
C
What
have
you
and
then
from
a
community
service
perspective?
I
just
completed
six
years
on
the
airport
commission
which,
as
you
know,
we
term
out
on
any
any
commission
after
six
years,
two
three-year
terms
the
last
three
years.
I
was
actually
the
chair
of
the
airport
commission
for
the
city
of
palm
springs
and
did
enjoy
that
opportunity.
C
But
then
this
opportunity,
I
that
assignment
by
the
way,
ended
on
june
30th,
and
I
applied
to
continue
my
community
service
and
the
library
was
one.
I
know
ed
very
well
ed
suggested
it
would
be
a
good
match.
With
my
education
background
and
then
jeannie.
I
have
to
say
the
tour
I
took
that
day
with
her
was
absolutely
stunning
and
eye-opening.
C
I
don't
want
to
say
that
I
hadn't
been
into
a
library
for
a
number
of
years,
but
with
the
internet
and
everything
that's
available
there
and
then
to
learn
what
the
services
and
the
offerings
are.
Once
I
got
my
new
driver's
license
today.
With
my
new
address,
I
moved
from
the
movie
colony
down
to
andreas
hills.
I
went
in
this
afternoon.
I
came
in
the
mail
today
at
noon.
C
I
went
into
the
the
library
and
I
got
my
library
card
because
I
could
show
proof
of
residency
at
my
current
address
and
I
couldn't
do
that
beforehand
because
I
had
nothing
to
show
for
it.
So
anyway,
I'm
delighted
to
be
here
and
joining
david.
I
think
david
is
the
other
new
member,
I'm
also
the
other
new
member.
So
I'm
looking
forward
to
this
opportunity.
B
My
tenure
on
this
board,
I
have
to
tell
you
every
time
we
get
a
new
group
of
trustees.
I
think
that
we
just
we
can't
outdo
it.
You
know
it's
always
such
a
wonderful
group
and
I
have
to
say
I
feel
this
way
this
time.
I
think
this
is
a
really
outstanding
group
of
people
and
I'm
looking
forward
to
working
with
all
of
you.
B
B
It
never
rings
until
I
get
on
a
zoom
call.
So
thank
you.
So
can
I
get
a
motion
to
accept
the
consent,
count
agenda
and
I'll.
Tell
you
what,
since
this
is
a
first
meeting
for
for
david
and
al,
I'm
happy
to
stop
and
kind
of
go
through
what
each
of
these
items
represent,
so
that
you
go.
What
was
that
right?
So
some
time
ago
we
decided
to
create
a
consent
agenda,
of
course,
for
those
items
that
are
repeatedly
and
things
that
we
didn't
feel
we
needed
to
to
examine
individually.
B
Every
time
we
meet,
however,
as
a
trustee,
if
there
is
something
in
any
of
those
items,
of
course
that
you
would
like
to
pull
off
and
have
a
discussion
around
now
would
be
the
time
for
you
to
say.
Can
we
pull
this
off
and
I
have
a
question
or
a
discussion
so
and
it
is
most
commonly
the
meetings
from
the
last
minute.
B
Of
course,
you
guys
weren't
there
for
the
last
meeting,
but
if
we
have
any
corrections,
that's
where
we
make
them
the
library
statistics
is
a
package
that
genie
prepares
for
us,
so
that
you
may
have
an
insight
into
what
the
library
staff
is
doing
from
the
last
meeting
and
of
course,
normally
it's
the
last
month
right.
B
These
are
really
insightful
and
we
have
pulled
these
off
and
had
discussions
or
jenny
will
sometimes
highlight
those
in
some
of
her
reports,
especially
and
like
this
time.
B
I
expect
her
to
give
us
some
updates
on
some
programs
like
summer
reading
and
those
kinds
of
things,
but
those
are
all
part
of
her
statistical
package
and
then
we
recently
added
a
donation
report
which
reflects
any
donations
that
we've
received
from
anyone
in
the
community
or
anyone
in
general,
because
we
sometimes
get
through
them
all
over
the
place
and
it's
kind
of
a
recognition
of
folks,
and
this
really
came
about
too
so
that
if
you
see
someone
you
know-
and
you
say
well,
I
think
I
know
that
person
it's
it's
quite
appropriate
for
you
to
drop
it
and
say.
B
E
I
was
just
wondering
on
that
document.
Ginny.
The
questions
that
I
had
yesterday
were
are
any
of
these
earmarked
for
anything
specific
or
are
they
just
general
donations
and
where
do
they
show
up
in
our
budget?
They
don't
show
up
in
the
trustees
budget,
correct.
A
They
they
show
up
in
your
cash
balance,
so
they
just
go
straight
into
cash.
The
only
one
that
has
an
earmark
really
is
alpha
delta,
kappa
and
oh
you
know-
maybe
I
I'd
have
to
look,
but
sometimes
they
want
us
to
spend
it
on
children's
materials.
A
With
that
but
but
at
this
point
I
haven't-
I
haven't
done
a
specific.
E
Request
to
pull
that
out,
but
okay,
if
I
would
just
like
for
my
own
information
if
they
have
a
specific
request
for
it,
to
go
in
a
certain
direction.
If
you
can
kind
of
delineate
that
on
this
document,.
D
C
B
Wonderful,
the
next
section
of
our
agenda,
guys,
is
always
where
we
have
this.
We
have
three
reporting
organizations
that
come
to
us.
I
don't
know
how
much
you
may
have
received
in
your
orientation
about
these
organizations,
but
I'm
assuming
genie
went
through
each
one
of
them
for
you.
So
you
have
you
recognize
what
we're
talking
about
here.
Normally
the
president
of
their
boards
will
appear
at
our
meeting
and
give
us
a
report
on
activity,
but
I
do
know
that
both
the
friends
and
the
foundation
have
been
dark
for
the
last
30
days.
B
So
that
might
explain
we'll
we'll
hope
that
explains
why
they're,
not
here,
but
I
will
jeannie,
do
you
have
anything
from
the
friends
that
you'd
like
to
report.
A
Yes,
I
mean
julie
might
want
to
chime
in
too
about
some
of
their
upcoming
things,
but
one
thing
I
know
they've
been
doing
great
work
this
summer,
since
we
opened
they
their
book
sales
like
gangbusters,
both
in
person
and
online,
and
then
they
are
working
on
merchandise,
to
sell,
and
so
they
have
t-shirts
and
they're
getting
some
aprons
and
I've
got
some
stickers.
The
graphics
are
really
cute,
but
julie.
You
might
want
to
talk
about
if
you
have
anything
to
talk
about
for
the
friends.
E
Anniversary
this
year
in
2021,
so
they
are
trying
to
plan
some
things
in
the
fall.
They're
also
planning
a
fall
book
sale
or
at
least
going
to
be
discussing
having
a
fall
book
sale.
There
was
some
concern
about
having
enough
volunteers,
and
then
they
are
participating
in
modernism
week
february
2022
they're,
having
three
events,
a
house
tour,
a
lecture
here
at
the
library
and
then
an
exhibit
a
dishware
exhibit
again
that
will
be
at
the
wellwood.
E
So
they
have
lots
of
things
in
the
hopper
and
planned
and
which
I'm
helping
them
do
a
few
things
and
for
their
anniversary,
we're
gonna
jeannie
and
I
are
going
to
be
working
on
a
proclamation
to
submit
to
the
city
manager
and
to
do
a
proclamation
on
their
behalf.
D
A
Clerk
for
the
city
council
so
got
that.
B
A
Care
of
no
nothing
else,
I
can
think
of.
B
So
david
and
now
what
you
will
find
out
is
that
the
library
foundation
was
an
organization
that
was
founded
through
a
loan
from
this
body
and
its
primary
focus,
of
course,
is
to
raise
money
for
the
library
and
in
particular,
we're
in
capital
campaigns
and
two
of
us
are
appointed
by
this
body
to
serve
on
that
right.
Now,
it's
craig
and
myself.
B
So
as
we
elect
officers
today
over
the
day,
we'll
put
it
up
for
dibs
and
see
if
anyone
else
wants
to,
we
want
to
move
those
around
and
have
anyone
else
represent
this
board
on
the
library
foundation.
B
I
can
tell
you
that
the
recent
information
I
received
from
them,
even
though
they've
been
dark,
they
are
working
on
an
end-of-year
campaign,
so
they
have
hired
palm
springs
life
to
help
them
with
that,
and
they
are
going
to
be
sending
out
solicitations,
probably
closer
to
december
november
december
time
frame.
B
We
did
it
last
year
and
we
raised
what
was
it
about
ten
thousand
dollars
and
it
was
very
impromptu,
very
quick,
so
we're
hoping
this
year
with
a
little
more
organization,
plus
we've
reached
the
foundation
recently
invested
in
a
database
that
allows
them
to
maintain
member
or
undone
records,
so
we're
hoping
that
that
will
raise
a
little
bit
more
money.
But
ten
thousand
dollars
was
a
great
prize
and
surprise
for
us.
So
I
know
that
they're
working
on
that
and-
and
I
think
gina
you've
been
working
on
that
with
them.
A
They
were
just
asking
for
testimonial
people
who
would
be
to
give
testimonials,
so
I
gave
them
a
few
names,
and
then
we
we
gathered
some
statistics
about
services
that
we
provided
during
the
pandemic,
to
try
to
tell
our
story
and
and
the
palm
springs
life.
Is
the
jones
agency
portion
of
that
business
that
the
firm
that
that's
working
with
them
on
that.
F
F
Yes,
since
I'm
new,
I
do
have
a
couple
of
orienting
questions.
If
you
don't
mind,
absolutely
I'm
interested
in
knowing
roughly
the
number
of
members
that
the
friends
of
the
library
has.
B
A
Have
300,
I
believe,.
B
Okay,
so
let's
turn
it
over
to
jeannie
for
the
library
staff
report.
A
Okay,
just
one
moment:
okay,
so
we,
let's
see
I've,
got
lots
of
things
to
tell
you,
because
we
haven't
met
in
so
long.
The
city
is
conducting
a
community
survey.
I
just
want
everyone
to
know
about
this.
The
first
phase
includes
mailings
to
2
700
residents
that
are
randomly
selected
and
postcards
will
be
mailed.
If
you
get
one
of
those,
we
ask
you
to.
Please
do
the
survey
for
the
community,
it's
very
helpful
to
the
city
to
find
out
what
your
needs
and
desires
are
for
our
city.
E
The
genie
a
couple
questions
on
that
is
that
going
to
be
when
it
opens
up
to
the
community.
Is
that
going
to
be
online,
or
is
that
going
to
be
mailers.
A
A
A
We
are
going
to
be.
There
is
a
special
election
september
14th,
you
might
know
this
and
the
library
will
be
an
election
assistance
center
and
we
will
be
an
election
assistance
center
beginning
september
10th
through
the
14th
you,
if
you're
registered
to
vote,
you
will
get
a
mail-in
ballot
and
you
can
drop
off
those
ballots
here.
A
Oh,
I
was
wrong
september
11th
through
the
so
september,
11th
through
the
13th
from
9am
to
5pm
and
then
september
14th
on
election
day
7am
to
8pm.
If
something
goes
wrong
with
your
ballot,
you
can
come
in
and
vote.
You
can
vote
provisionally
it's
an
election
assistance
center,
so
they're
here
to
help
you
there
are
sites
throughout
the
city
where
you
can
drop
off
your
ballots
now
summer.
Reading
program
was
a
great
success,
even
though
it
was
virtual.
We
still
had
a
good
time.
A
We
had
the
program
for
six
weeks
june
14th
through
july
24th.
We
had
496
participants
and
the
pre-k
through
kindergarten
group
tracked
the
number
of
books
that
they
read
and
they
read
2
254
books.
Oh
my
name
is
kitty
cat
and
then
grades.
One
all
the
way
up
through
adults
tracked
their
minutes
and
they
read
180
100
minutes
which
equals
3
0002
hours
in
our
community,
so
good
job,
everybody,
the
friends
of
the
library,
were
a
huge
sponsor
us
bank
was
a
huge
sponsor.
A
We
had
lots,
lots
of
sponsors
palm
springs,
fine
men's
salon
was
a
sponsor.
We
had
lots
of
sponsors,
we
gave
away
lots
of
great
prizes,
the
kids
are
so
happy
and
it
was
kind
of
cute
some,
for
example,
one
one
child
won
a
prize
and
her
family
didn't
tell
her
that
she
went
to
the
library
to
pick
up
her
prize
and
she
came
in
and
they
said.
Oh,
you
won
the
whatever
it
was.
I
don't
remember
the
barbie
dream,
camper.
A
So
it
was
a
lot
of
fun.
We
had
a
great
time
and
lots
of
fun
activities
online.
So
staffing
updates
welcome
back
julie,
warren.
We
got
her
rolling
in
the
work
he's
very
busy,
and
then
we
promoted
two
of
our
part-time
library
assistants
to
full-time,
so
arun,
mayani
and
lillian
rodriguez
are
now
full-time
employees
here
at
the
city
of
palm
springs.
So
we're
very
happy
about
that.
Congratulations
to
them
on
their
promotions.
A
Speaking
of
staffing
news,
the
parks
and
recreation
director,
cynthia
alvarado
crawford
is
leaving
the
city
and
I've
been
asked
to
temporarily
step
in
to
help
out
with
that
department.
So
I'll
be
interim
parks
and
recreation,
director
and
library
director,
at
the
same
time
so
I'll
be
covering
for
their
department
to
try
to
keep
them
afloat
and
keep
us
afloat
so
should
be
a
great
fun.
Adventure
and
they've
got
a
great
team.
So
I'm
not
too.
A
But
it's
a
good
team
they've
got
some
really
great
people
over
there,
so
I
think
I
think
it'll
be
okay,
david.
F
Jeanne,
that's
really
interesting
news
and
thank
you
for
sharing
it
with
us
in
advance
of
via
email.
I'm
curious,
if
you
have
any
sense
of
the
duration
of
this
interim
appointment.
A
It
well
with
the
city
of
palm
springs,
hiring
process.
It
could
be
three
to
six
months.
Possibly
it
depends.
You
know
I
we'll
we'll
see,
hope
yeah.
Maybe
something
will
come
along
really
quickly
and
but
they
need
someone
to
to
pay
the
bills
and
sign
the
chat.
You
know
sign
the
cards
and
do
some.
You
know
the
managerial
thing.
A
Have
a
whole
team
of
managers
that
are
over
different
projects,
so
we've
got
people,
you
know:
village,
fest,
james,
o,
jesse,
dumuth,
the
swim
center,
the
leisure
center.
So
there's
a
great
team
of
people
that
do
specialized
duties.
B
A
A
D
B
A
We
have,
we
have
a
lot
of
similarities.
I
would
say
that
we
are
definitely
not
the
same,
because
libraries,
I
feel
like
libraries
are
very
specialized
and
the
swim.
D
A
Completely
different
end
of
the
spectrum
on
this,
but
we
have
similar
audiences.
We
have
similar
goals,
we
we
like
to
do
engaging
programs
and
get
people
involved,
and
so,
in
that
aspect,
the
quality
of
life
division,
we're
we're
very
similar
in
these
things.
I'm.
B
B
A
Okay,
I
need
to
give
the
rest
of
my
report.
Yeah
yeah,
thanks
johnny
and
part
of
that
I
will
be
in
charge
of
two
more
commissions.
I
mean
technically
overseeing
the
village
fest,
which
I
won't
have
to
jasmine,
does
a
great
job
with
the
village
fest
board,
and
then
the
parks
and
recreation
commission
I'll
be
over
seeing
that
as
well.
So,
okay
september
is
library
card
sign
up
month.
So
we
encourage
you
to
get
a
library
card.
A
Hey
all
jones
good
job
library
card
signup
month
and
if
you
have
a
card
refer
a
friend
because
any
resident
in
california
can
get
a
free
library
card
at
the
palm
springs,
public
library
and
just
a
tidbit
of
trivia.
If
you
live
out
of
state,
it's
only
33
dollars
for
a
one-year
membership
and
we
have
some
really
good
resources.
So
that's
a
pretty
cheap
membership
to
access
all
of
our
online
things.
A
A
A
It's
the
program
is
facilitated
by
author
and
friendsville
library
board
member
kathy
ware
and
each
month,
they're
going
to
have
a
different
theme
to
inspire
inspire
their
memoir
writing
journey,
and
then
they
get
a
little
kid
it's
kind
of
cute.
You
know
so
lots
of
fun
things
happening
and
then,
in
october
author
and
desert
ecologist,
james
cornett
will
present
a
lecture
on
monday
october
11th.
We
assume
that
is
columbus
day.
Isn't
it.
A
Day
we
are
not
closed
on
october
11th,
the
youth
and
teen
are
doing
monthly
craft
pickup
programs,
the
children
are
making
sombreros
in
celebration
of
national
history
heritage
month
and
the
teens
are
making
a
black
marker
pencil
pouch.
A
For
the
author
event
at
the
mizell
c
mizel
center
featuring
stephanie
battaglio.
That's
we
know
I
messed
it
up.
A
So
the
special
introduction
is
going
to
be
by
mayor
pro
tem,
lisa
middleton
and
then
winston
from
the
desert
sun
will
be
doing
the
moderating.
So
that
event
is
wednesday
september
22nd
at
6
p.m.
It
is
in
person
at
the
micelle.
It's
free,
you
need
to
register
in
advance
and
masks,
and
proof
of
vaccination
will
be
required
for
the
event.
A
Now
to
give
you
some
statistics,
since
we
reopened
the
library
to
in-person
use
in
may.
I
wanted
to
highlight
some
of
those
statistics.
A
We've
seen
27
918
people
at
the
library
in
may
for
almost
4
900
and
then
watch
the
numbers
in
june
7600
july
7200
and
then
august
8
084
people
came
to
the
library,
so
we're
we're
running
a
well
on
august.
I'd
say
that's
about
a
50
capacity
of
pre-pandemic
8
000
people
is
a
lot
of
people,
and
then
we
had
some.
We
had
some
scare.
A
All
the
books
were
damaged
but
beyond
repair,
but
our
security
guard
kevin
brown
saved
the
day
and
he
put
out
the
fire
with
the
fire
extinguisher
and
he
identified
witnesses
and
they
identified
as
suspect.
We
have
the
suspect,
a
video.
We
have
video
footage
of
the
person,
but
the
suspect
was
not
captured
so
everything's
back
to
normal.
It
was.
It
was
fine
but
kind
of
scary
that
the
bathroom
was
on
fire
wow.
B
A
No
there's,
you
know
we
replaced
the
fire
extinguisher
and
and
do
a
big
cleanup,
but
we
were
really
lucky.
F
I
do
have
one
question
about
people
visiting
the
library
you
mentioned
that
one
of
the
figures
was
about
50
of
of
pre-pandemic
averages.
F
A
You
know
our
numbers
are
always
really
strong.
We
are,
we
do
an
uptick.
A
Our
biggest
months
honestly
are
january
february
march,
january's
busy
and
then
we
say
february
is
busier
and
how
could
it
get
busier
and
then
march
comes
and
it's
really
busy
and
we're
just
we're
swamped
with
people
and
then
snowbirds
go
home
and
then
summer
reading
starts
and
then
we
start
to
see
the
kids
come
in,
so
we're
always
busy.
We
were
on
track
to
see,
I
want
to
say
half
a
million
people
wow.
You
know
in
the
past
I
mean
you
know,
maybe
I'm
mistaken.
I
think
that
was
our
circulation.
A
B
B
Reason
I'm
asking
is
I
mean,
as
a
business
owner
we're
seeing
so
many
we
didn't
see
any
kind
of
drop
in
july
and
august
to
our
business
as
we
have
seen
in
previous
years.
I
think
it's
indicative
of
we
have
so
many
people,
who've
moved
to
palm
springs
that
we're
not
seeing
those
traditional,
you
know,
snowbirds
will
go
and
it
seems
kind
of
empty.
It
did
not
seem
empty
to
me
in
july
and
august.
Thank
goodness
I'm
very
thankful
for
that.
But
I'm
just
wondering
if
you
guys
saw
the
same
thing.
A
Yeah,
let
me
look
at
the
august
statistics
august
for
2019.
C
Now
this
last
week,
everything
dropped
because
of
the
cove
at
the
very
end.
Now,
as
people
are
being
more
cautious
about
traveling,
but
there
has
been
an
increase
of
people
of
at
all
levels
becoming
more
engaged
out
of
fatigue,
quite
frankly
of
cobat
and
the
isolation
and
everything
else.
So
that's
one
benefit.
I
think
the
library
provided
was
an
opportunity
to
re-engage
in
a
different
way.
There
was
a
very
healthy
way,
I
think
yeah.
D
And
and
jeannie
speaking
of
kobe,
what
is
it
that
you
in
the
library?
What
are
you
guys
doing?
Is
everyone
just
required
to
our
mask
all
the
time?
Are
you
guys
accepting
a
vaccine
id
when
you,
if
you
don't
have
to
wear
a
mask
if
you're
vaccinated
or
what
is
your
policy
now
the
city.
A
The
city's
policy
for
the
city
facilities
right
now
is
just
masks
required,
so
we
are
making
announcements
regularly
to
remind
people
to
keep
their
masks
on.
We
patrol
everyone
two
and
over,
is
required
to
have
a
mask
at
all
times.
E
B
The
next
section
of
our
report
is,
as
the
primary
purpose
for
this
board
is
looking
at
the
trust
fund
and
we
have
had
for
the
last
three
years.
Our
treasurer
has
done
an
outstanding
job,
on
keeping
us
informed
and
tracking.
This
and
you'll
see
on
the
agenda.
B
We're
looking
for
a
new
treasurer
of
this
group
today,
but
the
the
report
that
you
are
now
getting
as
a
result
of
this
board
spending
the
last
several
years
really
starting
to
refine
what
we
want
to
see
and
the
kind
of
information
we
want
to
see
on
the
trust
fund.
We're
going
to
talk
a
little
bit
more
about
that
in
a
moment.
But
I
just
wanted
to
kind
of
give
you
some
context
on
this
next
section.
B
So
it's
not
uncommon
for
us
to
get
into
the
weeds
on
this
particular
section
and
ask
questions.
I
have
to
apologize
because
there's
no
way
that
I
can
step
in
the
shoes
of
trustee
kelly
and
give
the
report.
So
I've
asked
genie
to
kind
of
give
us
some
highlights
so
that
we
can
kind
of
go
through
and
see
how
it's
done
and
the
time
that
we've
been
away
and
then
we're
gonna
certainly
be
talking
about
this
again,
so
jeannie
you
want
to,
and
also
for
david
and
al
th.
B
This
is
a
time
for,
if
there's
something
missing
and
you
have
a
question,
it's
quite
all
right
to
ask
those
questions
and
we
can
always
refine
these
reports
to
include
additional
information
that
we
see
fit
so
jeanne.
Why
don't
you
kind
of
walk
us
through
the
the
basic
report
and
tell
us
how
we're
doing.
A
Sure
can
you
see
the
report
on
the
screen?
Yes,
okay,
for
some
reason
that
normally
I
thought
it
had
an
outline
on
the
screen.
I
was
sharing,
but
I
don't
see
it
so
just
take
all
of
this
information
with
a
grain
of
salt
right
now,
because
the
city
is
transitioning
to
a
new
finance
system.
A
So
our
old
system
is
what
you're
seeing
on
the
screen
with
the
on
and
in
your
packet
on
page
13,
through
a
program
called
finance
plus
and
then
now
we're
switching
to
a
tyler
munis
system
and
all
learning
and
we're
in
the
middle
of
a
fiscal
year
rollover.
A
So
we
haven't
rolled
all
the
money,
so
it's
kind
of
a
mess
for
to
explain
to
you
what's
going
on
so
the
other
thing
is
we
haven't
met
for
two
months
and
at
the
end
of
the
fiscal
year
they
always
have
a
13th
period
so
a
13th
month,
so
that
that
all
any
of
the
outstanding
bills
and
invoices
can
come
in
and
then
they
can
close
the
fiscal
year.
So
a
normal
fiscal
year
is
12
months
long,
but
they
have
a
13th
period.
A
A
June
30th
in
the
in
the
old
system,
so
the
page
14
of
your
packet
shows
your
interest
income
and
again
this
is
the
12th
month
I'm
going
to
go
to
the
13th
month,
because
you'll
see
more
information
and
it'll
be
more
up
to
date.
This
page
page
15,
is
the
expenditure
status
report
and
this
is
of
the
trust
funds
that
we've
set
up
into
different
accounts.
So
the
numbers
don't
match
your
cash
balance,
because
we
didn't
allocate
everything
exactly
dollar
per
dollar
page
16
is
an
expenditure
audit
trail.
Now
this
is
a
specific
one
line.
F
Oh
gene
yeah
on
page
17,
I
just
to
learn
a
little
bit
more
about
the
percent.
The
typical
percentage
of
the
annual
operating
budget.
B
F
Is
dedicated
to
acquisitions
of
books
and
and
purchases
of
journal
subscriptions
and
so
forth.
A
Okay,
great
question:
let
me
zoom
in
here
so
the
line
items
these
three
that
I'm
highlighting.
Can
you
see
my
highlights.
A
So
my
book
budget,
the
other
thing
is
we
had
such
a
short
budget.
Our
this
is
not
a
typical
budget
for
the
city
we
had
to.
We
were
in
financial
crisis,
so
my
book
budget's
half
of
what
it
normally
is
so.
A
Books,
those
are
physical,
hard.
You
know,
books
right,
some
publications,
we
cancelled
every
magazine
and
paper
that
we
had
for
the
year.
We
were
closed
normally
about
a
9,
000
line
item
and
then
audio
visual
materials
are
dvds,
audiobooks,
music,
cds,
something
that
requires
a
plug
or
a
player
or
something
and
again
that's
about
half.
A
Yes,
yeah
yeah,
it's
way
shorter
than
it
usually
was.
It
was
about
a
220
000
batch
that
doesn't
include
our
online
databases
now
up
here.
This
category
called
electronic
databases.
That's
where
we
put
canopy
overdrive,
mango
language
learning
all
of
the
homework
help
all
of
those
digitals
freegal.
All
of
those
things.
A
A
Okay,
no
problem,
and
then
this
page
19
this
is
the
13th
month.
So
this
is
the
the
extra
month
again,
it's
still
not
even
close.
So
this,
if
we
all
of
our
transactions,
have
gone
through
we're
complete
here
at
the
library
we've
completed
our
payments,
all
of
our
invoices
have
come
in
we're
just
waiting
for
the
city
to
finish
all
of
their
transactions
and
then
roll
everything.
B
So
jeannie-
I
guess
a
note
on
this
page-
is
that
yes,
at
the
end
of
the
year,
it
looks
like
the
library
foundation
has
continually
paid
down
their
loans,
so
we're
now
down
to
seventy
thousand
dollars.
So
david
and
al
the
library
foundation
has
been
paying
a
monthly.
I
think
two
thousand
dollars
right
jeannie.
Yes,
you
pay
back
the
trustees
on
the
loan
that
we
gave
them
to
form,
and
this
they've
been
pretty
good
about
doing
that
right.
So
they
are
three.
A
Yeah,
I'm
keeping
track
of
that
too
in
my
own
files
and
they
they're
they're
little
quirks
on
here
this
25
and
95
cents.
That's
a
check
that
you
got
you
did
you
weren't
supposed
to
get
it,
but
it
was
supposed
to
go
to
the
library.
A
B
A
And
then
this
one
is
the
again
period
13
this
you
did
get
your
fourth
quarter
interest
allocation,
so
we
earned
13
834
dollars
and
25
cents
in
interest
for
the
year
and
that
money
went
straight
into
your
cash
account.
So
it
should
be
there
page
two
now
on
this
page,
this
one's
very
detailed.
This
is
the
revenue
audit
trail.
This
is
the
detailed
accounting
of
every
deposit
in
your
account
and
we've
gone
over
a
lot
of
these
in
the
past.
A
So
you'll
see
the
20,
the
like
a
250
donation
and
whatnot.
I'm
not
going
to
go
into
detail
on
that.
It's
in
your
past
records,
unless
you
need
me
to
I
will
I
will
this
page
on
page
24.
F
A
It
does
vary,
it
depends
on
on
what's
happening
with
donations.
One
year
we
might
get
a
25
000
gift
another
year.
We
I
know,
we've
got
one
coming
from
the
house
drops
for
a
thousand
dollars,
so
I
I
it
hasn't
come
yet.
So
I
didn't,
you
know,
put
it
in
any
reports,
but
it
varies,
and
I
think
it
depends.
You
know
I
think
in
the
past.
A
A
lot
more
solicitation
of
that
and
and
now
there's
not
so
much
it's
more
directed
to
the
friends
and
the
foundation,
but
you
could
solicit
and
and
ask
for
gifts
to
go
into
this
fund,
but
it's
really
it
last
year
I
think
we
had
700,
it
wasn't
a
lot,
so
it
could
be
700.
It
could
be
25
000.
F
A
And
then
this
page
24
that
was
a
december
donation
or
16.50,
and
that
was
in
our
cash
register
at
the
library.
B
So
jeannie,
I
know
that
I've
I've
talked
to
the
hofstra
family,
another
making
a
lot
of
requests
around
the
city,
so
it
did.
They
particularly
say
that
it
goes
to
the
trust
fund.
A
B
A
Well,
it
says
palm
springs,
public
library,
palm
street's,
public
library
for
sure
pretty
sure
it
says
trust.
Well,
it
doesn't
if
it
says
palm
springs,
public
library.
It
goes
to
the
trust
fund.
B
Some
of
you
may
have
known
duke
koster,
passed
away
recently
and
he
was
a
former
trustee,
and
so
I
think
that's
a
wonderful
gift
from
his
family
in
ireland.
A
E
A
These
are
her
friend's
transaction.
Now,
the
friends
I
I
will
tell
you-
we've
been
trying
to
get
this
friends
account
to
to
stop
having
money
go
into
the
trust
fund,
and
it
has
not
so
we're
working
we're
working
on.
C
A
We
ring
it
up
in
our
cash
register
under
the
friends
of
the
library
code,
and
then
we
send
the
money
to
city
hall
and
they
deposit,
and
they
put
it
in
an
account
and
then,
at
the
end
of
the
monthly
report,
we
request
the
money
to
be
sent
via
check
to
the
friends
of
the
library
and
then
putting
that
money
in
the
library
trust
fund
and
then
pull
the
money
out
and
so
we're
trying
to
get
the
friends
their
own
account
number
to
stay
out
of
the
trust
fund.
Because
it's
complicated
it's
confusing.
A
And
so
we've
got
their
new
account
set
up,
but
then
we
had
problems
with
the
deposits
still
going
to
the
right
place
up
until
august.
We're
we're
still
experiencing
this,
so
we
think
we're
we're
getting
it
fixed
you.
There
is
still
money
in
your
account
that
belongs
to
the
friends.
You'll
see
it
down
here
about
495.
A
These
are
just
detail,
specific
detail,
accountings
of
each
one
of
your
line,
items
which
you
can
look
at
and
when
we
we
buy
the
books
that
you've
authorized
or
the
dvds
every
single
invoice
gets
charged
to
your
account.
B
Also
david
and
now
anything
that
we
any
project
that
we
as
a
board
decide
to
fund
will
be
listed
here
as
well.
So
you
see
there
stop
right
there.
Genie
patio
was
a
project
that
the
trust
fund
was
used
to
supplement
the
city
fund.
So
we
always
show
that
and
you'll
see
that
as
a
roll-up.
B
But
this
is
the
detail
about
how
those
money
came
through
our
account
we
anyway
just
so
you
know,
you
may
see
projects
from
time
to
time
and
wonder
well
what
is
that,
like
right,
furniture,
there's
a
shade
that
we
had
built,
there's
the
library
campaign
so
from
time
to
time,
strategic
planning
was
a
big
one
where
we
paid
some
money
to
hire
consultants
to
come
in
and
help
us
develop
a
strategic
plan.
So
that's
how
we
use
the
trust
fund
hold
on.
A
The
page
36
is
just
the
simplified
version
of
what
you
just
all
this
details,
and
oh
and
they're
the
13th
month
of
the
library.
B
This
may
be
an
area
of
a
question
from
a
previous
meeting,
but
I
I
think
I
know
the
answer,
but
I'm
going
to
ask
anyway
craig
and
why
need
to
jump
in
if
you
feel
you
we
asked
before
this
is
where
we
have
given
you
money
from
the
trust
fund
to
purchase
materials,
and
this
is
showing
each
of
those
invoices
as
they've
flown
through
our
accounts
right,
so
we're
we're
not
buying
books
from
brodart.
You
are
so,
but
we
gave
you
the
money
to
spend
for
this
year.
Correct.
A
B
B
So
and
so,
and
david
and
alan
once
a
year,
jeanne
comes
to
us
and
says
I
need
this
much
money
to
supplement
or
to
purchase
books.
Sometimes
it's
money
that
we
have
been
given:
that's
restricted
to
purchase
materials
so.
E
B
Coming
to
ask
for
to
draw
down
that
and
in
the
past
it
just
kind
of
rolled
up
and
we
were
asking
well:
where
does
that
money?
Go
so
jeannie
expanded
the
report,
so
we
can
see.
Maybe
we
didn't
want
to
see
every
invoice
but
we're
seeing
every
invoice
that
she
approves
for
that
money
that
we
give
her
as
a
as
a
board.
You
can't
see.
B
A
Would
say,
trust
fund
books
spent
thirteen
hundred
dollars
yeah,
but
you
know,
if
you
want
to
see
it.
You
yeah,
but
I'll,
tell
you
the
new
finance
system,
we're
struggling
to
try
to
find
these
kinds
of
reports,
but
I
think
lisa
figured
that
out
so
that
that's
a
good
thing
and
I'll
show
you
on
page
39.
F
Yes,
question
to
you
or
ad:
this
isn't
really
a
financial
question,
but
on
page
35
there
was
this
item
about
strategic
planning.
Consulting
so
is,
is
there
a
strategic
plan?
Should
I.
B
Yes,
there
is
so
we'll
we'll
make
sure
the
two
of
you
get
a
copy
that
asap.
So
you
can
review
it,
but
it
was
a
process
that
involved
the
community.
B
Many
community
participated
in
that
you
know,
and
a
strategic
plan
always
needs
to
be
reviewed
and
updated,
and
I
think
that
we
may
be
coming
to
the
time
to
where
we
need
to
pull
it
out
as
part
of
this
board
and
just
kind
of
brush
it
off
and
make
sure
we're
meeting
our
goals
and
objectives
number
one
right,
but
maybe
it's
time
to
refresh
based
on
the
direction
we
go
as
a
board
which
is
coming
up
so
yeah
and.
B
A
And
will
it
we'll
talk?
We
will
talk
about
it
on
c7c,
because
that's
where
the
city
is
working
on
a
visioning
plan,
okay,
on
page
39,
this
is
what
our
new
financial
reports
are
going
to.
Look
like
just
for
you
for
you,
the
record.
So
you
know
page
40
is
just
kind
of
ignore
that
one,
because
it's
old,
it's
a
it's
a
balance
sheet
for
2020
period.
13.,
that
is
old
information
39,
is
more
up
to
date.
A
But
please
note
the
the
money
is
not
correct
on
this
sheet,
because
it's
showing
that
you,
you
know
the
the
loan
is
still
90
000
instead
of
70
000.,
the
money's,
not
the
money,
hasn't
hasn't
rolled
over
exactly
so
everything's
just
a
mess
right
now,
so
just
please
bear
with
us.
We
will.
It
will
get
straightened
out.
It
will
be
corrected.
A
The
1493
dollars,
that's
the
money.
We
owe
the
friends
there's
just
stuff
going
on.
A
Yes,
yes,
so
in
some
ways
it's
it's
cleaner,
it
looks
nice.
We
just
need
to
learn
how
to
use
it.
A
On
page
41,
the
expenditure
status
report
comes
now
in
either
excel
or
a
pdf,
and
so
in
excel
and
combined
all
the
divisions
together.
So
we've
got
the
main
library
accounts
and
then
we've
got
well
with
murray,
which
I
never
included
with
your
reports
before
and
then
the
library
trust,
fund
and
you'll
see
the
library
trust
funds
are
all
zeros
because
they
haven't
rolled
the
actual
money
and
we
need
to
get
that
fixed
because
we
need
to
pay
those
bills.
A
Do
you
all
have
any
questions
about
that
report?
It's
it's
called.
It
says
new
year
original
budget,
revised
budget,
mental
balance
yeah
it's
kind
of
something
new,
we'll
figure
it
out
and
can
get
it
all
get
it
all
legible.
So
that's
the
that's.
The
financial
report.
A
So
I
would,
I
would
sure,
exactly
what
to
tell
you.
The
total
is
I'll.
Tell
you,
as
of
as
a
show
for
what
your
balance
was.
It
was.
B
Oh,
no,
no,
I
think
we've
had
longer
ones
than
that,
but
if
anything,
if
anything,
I
think
it
probably
was.
You
know
a
10
000
foot
view
for
our
new
board
members
and
normally
we
we
do
or
we
can
really
get
into
the
weeds
on
some
of
these.
We've
really
been
watching
the
the
friends
transactions
because
it
seemed
to
throw
us
we'd
see
these
little
bits
of
money
pop
in
and
pop
out.
So
I'm
glad
to
see
that
we're
working
on
getting
that
hopefully
finally
removed.
B
But
the
goal
of
this
is
for
us
to
know
how
much
money
we've
got,
because
it's
going
to
be
very
important.
As
we
look
at
the
future
items
should
we
have
to
next
few
items
to
discuss
so
any
questions
for
jeannie
on
this
particular
report.
C
A
Do
we
have
to,
or
do
you
just.
A
Okay,
roll
call
craig
barba,
yes,
juanita,
garner,
yes,
al
jones,.
C
C
A
B
B
We
we've
it
wasn't
too
long
ago
where
we
did
have
an
election
of
officers,
but
the
city
is
now
asking
all
boards
and
commissions
to
do
this
again
in
much
more
formal
process,
so
I
actually
have
a
script.
I
must
read,
as
the
chair
of
this
committee,
to
take
us
to
this
next
section,
so
I
just
got
a
few
minutes
ago.
B
Thank
you
genie,
so
you
guys
please
bear
with
me
as
I
I
go
through
the
the
script
process,
but
the
first
step,
of
course,
is
nominations
and
nominations
are
now
in
order
for
the
office
of
chair
and
vice
chair,
we'll
do
chair
first,
so
I'm
going
to
open
up
the
floor.
Are
there
any
nominations
for
chair
of
this
committee?
I
mean
yes.
B
B
Seeing
none
without
objection,
nominations
are
now
closed.
It's
how
formal
we
have
to
be
based.
It
says
here
that
if
only
one
person
is
nominated
for
each
of
the
positions
after
ensuring
that
no
members
present
wish
to
make
further
nominations,
simply
declares
the
nominee
as
selected
by
unanimous
consent
right
question
right.
Yes,
as
media
are
in
favor
of
ed
and
craig
for
chair
and
vice
chair,
those
opposed
say
no.
B
F
E
B
B
I'm
sorry
so
the
and
the
final
step
is,
I
request
a
motion
to
accept
the
election
of
ed
mcbride
and
craig
vorba
to
the
office
of
chair
and
vice
chair.
Is
there
a
second.
C
C
B
B
You
now
the
probably
the
most
important
position
we
have
is
our
treasurer
position,
as
you
guys
know,
from
just
looking
at
these
reports.
Our
treasurer
really
is
going
to
be
driving
our
agenda,
at
least
for
the
foreseeable
future,
and
I
I
think
that,
based
on
our
conversation
in
the
direction,
we
must
go.
I
I
can't
stress
enough
the
importance
of
this
position
in
the
past
and
over
the
last
I
would
say
year.
B
The
treasurer
has
foreign
relationships
with
city
hall,
especially
the
budget
director
and
the
and
the
finance
manager,
to
make
sure
that
our
numbers
are
correct.
We're
getting
the
right
reports,
we're
changing
anything
that
might
need
to
be
changed.
So
this
position,
as
you
just
saw,
has
a
major
part
of
every
meeting
and
explaining
to
us
where
we
are
in
helping
present
decisions.
B
I
think
it's
important
to
note
that
we're
we're
going
to
be
talking
about
something
in
the
upcoming
agenda
where,
where
this
board
has,
for
the
at
least
the
several
the
last
year
or
longer,
has
been
pursuing
on
how
we
can
manage
the
investments
of
our
our
monies
in
our
trust
fund
and
I'm
gonna
have
a
report
on
that
next,
so
even
more
so
the
treasure
is
important
because
it
would
fall
upon
that
treasurer
to
help
us
manage
and
oversee
that.
B
So
with
that
I'd
like
to
ask,
are
there
any
nominations
for
treasurer
or
volunteers?.
B
I
don't
want
this
to
be
a
task.
I
want
this
to
be
something
someone
would
enjoy
so.
A
And
I'll
say
that
it
can
be
as
involved
or
as
not
involved
as
you
want
it
to
be,
because
we've
had
treasures
that
just
say:
here's
the
balance
and
then.
B
In
some
ways,
we're
all
the
treasurer,
if
you
want
to
know
the
truth
based
on
the
direction,
we
might
be
going,
we're
all
going
to
be
involved
in
some
part
of
the
treasurer
duties.
What
we're
looking
for
is
someone
that
you
know
will
make
sure
that
our
reports
are
in
order
and
that
what
we're
getting
from
the
city
is
in
order,
and
we
may
ask
that
person
to
investigate
something
and
come
back
and
report
so
we're.
This
is
the
board
of
trustees
and
we're
in
charge
of
a
trust
fund.
C
B
B
So
we
have
I'd
like
to
appoint
mr
al
jones
as
our
treasurer
for
the
next
year,
so
I
don't
think
we
need
to
vote
on
that.
Do
we
jeannie,
I
think
that's.
A
All
right,
I'm
looking
forward
to
them,
get
the
finance
department
getting
all
of
the
numbers
straightened
out
so
that
we
can.
You
know
getting
the
old
year
closed,
so
we
can
see
the
new
year.
C
B
I
I
know
judy
you
hate
me
to
do
this,
but
I
want
to
reorder
the
next
two
agenda
items
please,
because
I
think
that
d
probably
could
happen
before
c
based
on
kind
of
where
we
are
so
and
and
not
to
rehash
and
I'm
sorry.
I
want
anything
and
pray
that
I'm
doing
that,
but
I
think
it's
important
for
us
to
restate
some
of
the
things
that
we've
been
doing
as
a
board
for
our
new
members
and
for
the
record
we
have.
B
We
have
really
been
examining,
as
you
could
just
you
just
saw
the
financial
reports.
What
came
to
light,
for
example,
for
this
group,
is
we're
not
really
making
a
lot
of
money
every
year
on
the
investment
that
we
have
with
the
city,
and
so
how
can
we
we
make
more
money
if
we're
not
out
there
asking
for
money
from
the
community
right?
B
Two
million
dollars
in
this
particular
market,
as
we
all
agreed,
should
be
making
pretty
good
money
right
so
that
to
use
as
an
example.
It
took
us
down
this
path
where
our
former
treasurer
really
felt
strongly
that
it
was
time
for
this
board
to
take
control.
B
More
control
of
the
trust
fund
and
to
direct
the
the
investments,
create
policies
and
find
ways
to
make
more
money
for
the
library
because
it
always
going
to
benefit
the
library
in
the
long
run.
We
also
must
consider
the
fact
that
we
we
do
have
an
organization
that
is
charged
with
raising
money
for
us.
B
That's
why
we
created
the
foundation
and
that's
why
we,
the
friends,
does
something
a
little
bit
separately,
but
the
foundation
was
created
primarily
to
go
out
and
help
us
raise
money
to
benefit
the
library
and
even
maybe
the
trust
fund.
So
with
that
the
board
charged
dr
borba
and
I,
with
taking
a
visit
to
city
hall,
which
I
can
tell
you
sometimes
those
are
fun.
Sometimes
you
never
know
what
you're
gonna
get
right.
B
So
jeannie
set
up
a
meeting
with
the
city
attorney
with
the
new
city
manager
and
with
the
city
finance
director
and
the
six
of
us
got
together
in
a
conference
room
in
person,
which
I
was
very
glad.
B
We
got
to
be
meet
in
person
for
the
primary
topic
of
what
can
we
do
as
a
board,
and
I
will
tell
you
that,
as
as
the
person
who
has
the
longest
tenure,
we
sometimes
wrote
the
impression
that
we
had
no
control
over
it,
that
you
know
what
this
it
was
city
money
and
we
really
would
nod
our
heads
for
the
reports
as
jenny
just
mentioned
herself
that
some
treasurer
would
say
this.
Is
it
guys
and
off?
We
would
go
and
it
really
became.
We
feel
like
that,
or
we
felt
like
that.
B
B
But
what
I
wanted
to
tell
you
is
that
I
personally
was
quite
pleased
with
the
end
results
of
that
meeting
and
I'm
glad
we
had
it,
because
what
you
have
in
your
packet
is
something
that
we
have
finally
confirmed.
It
is
written
in
the
minutes
and
it's
going
to
be
something
that
we
don't
ever
have
to
question
again
is
that
the
city
attorney
agreed
that
it
is
our
trust
fund.
We
can
do
with
that
trust
fund
as
we
wish
and
basically
there's
a
lot
more
to
it
than
that.
B
But
basically
what
he
asked
us
to
do
is
that,
because
we
are
a
city
board
that
should
we
decide
to
do
something
with
that
money
that
we
follow
the
guidelines
that
any
city,
organization
or
board
would
have
to
follow
for
investing
money,
and
he
cited
the,
and
I
can
I'm
sorry.
I
can't
remember
when,
but
you
may
recall,
orange
county
filed
bankruptcy
many
years
ago
and
there
was
a
lot
of
turmoil
and
upheaval
about
how
they
invest
your
money
and
lost
money.
B
So
there
is
state
law
that
says:
if
you
take
money
like
this,
you
know
you
can't
go
out
and
buy
bitcoin.
For
example,
I
mean
you
really
have
to
be
smart
about
how
you
invest
it
for
the
public
good.
We
all
agree
with
that.
I
don't
think
there's
anyone
in
this
organization
right
now
today
that
would
not
we
don't.
B
I
don't
think
anyone's
saying:
let's
go
by
bitcoin,
however,
the
the
city
finance
manager
shared
with
us
that
the
city
has
moving
to
a
new
investment
organization
to
invest
city
money
by
the
way
our
money
sits
in
a
pot
with
everybody
else's
money,
and
it's
it's
not
that
it's
lost
it's
assigned
to
us,
but
when
they
go
out
and
invest
money,
they
invest
this
big
pot
of
money
which
includes
our
money,
and
she
informed
us
that
they
have
hired
a
new
organization
to
manage
their
investments
because
they
too
are
concerned
about
the
return
and
how
they
can
improve
those
returns.
B
So
when
we
shared
with
them
that
we
are
seriously
thinking
about
looking
at
other
firms,
we
might
want
to
take
some
of
the
money
out
we
might
want
to
take
and
by
the
way
some
could
be
all
or
part
of
it.
We
wanted
to
make
sure
that
it
was
okay
and
it
is
if
we
decided
as
a
group
that
we
wanted
to
do
that.
We
certainly
can
as
long
as
we
follow
those
guidelines
that
they've
given
us
or
and
just
be
aware
of
how
we
invest
it.
B
The
other
part
of
that
is
that
they
said
to
us.
We
should
consider
them
as
one
of
those
options
with
this
new
improved
there,
then,
let
me
say:
improved,
I'm
sorry,
this
new
firm
that
they've
hired
may
be
able
to
give
us
some
options
that,
let's
say
a
wells,
fargo
advisors
or
anybody
else
out
there
we
might
consider
they
might
be
able
to
meet
or
beat
the
program
that
we're
looking
at.
B
I
think
that's
a
very
wise
thing
for
us
to
do,
but,
more
importantly,
we
also,
I
think,
as
a
group
we're
we're
at
an
important
juncture,
so
you're
joining
us
at
a
great
time
where
we've
been
sitting
on
money,
that's
been
entrusted
to
us
for
a
very
long
time
and
as
we
look
ahead
we've
I
think
all
of
you
know
that
we've
entertained
doing
some
capital
campaigns
and
also
the
city
has
included
in
measure
j
money
to
re-um
update
the
main
library
to
also
provide
money
to
update
the
jc
building
next
door.
B
So
the
city
is
beginning
to
engage
and
there
and
there
we've
always
been
a
priority,
but
I
feel
that
we're
now
for
sure
a
priority
now
that
things
are
getting
hopefully
back
to
normal
with
city
money
from
measure
j.
So
now
we
have
an
opportunity
to
help
supplement
that
and
give
the
library
their
wish
list.
If
the
city
is
going
to
build
brick
and
mortar,
we
can
come
up
with
the
money
with
our
other
partners
to
give
them
the
things
they
really
want.
You
know
and
and
make
this
the
world-class
library
we've
always
wanted.
B
So
I'm
giving
this
introduction
to
kind
of
let
you
know
and
also
to
report
back
to
juanita
and
craig.
You
were
there
that
we
we've
made
a
huge
jump
and
I'm
so
sorry
that
trustee
kelly
isn't
here
to
hear
that
because
he
worked
so
hard
to
get
us
there
so
strongly
about
it.
So
I
must
give
him
the
credit
for
that.
B
But
it
is
it's
liberating
it's
a
little
scary,
but
at
the
same
time
it's
empowering
for
us
to
finally
know
that
I
think
we're
in
charge
of
this
money
in
a
way
that
we've
never
been.
I
think
with
that.
We
have
to
finish
the
discussion
about
because
we
went
down.
We
had
a
discussion
not
too
long
ago,
where
we
looked
at
other
organizations,
both
prof
for-profit
and
non-profit,
when
you're
in
charge
of
money
and
you're
on
a
board.
There's
huge
responsibility
with
that.
B
As
we
all
know,
and
we
have
to
understand
what
that
responsibility
is.
You
know
signing
up
for
a
board
where
you're
just
making
policy
decisions
about
the
library
is
one
thing,
but
if
you're
now
personally
directing
two
million
dollars
and
where
that
money
is
going
to
go
and
how
it's
going
to
grow,
that's
a
very
serious
sign
up
right.
So
I
think
that
all
goes
into
where
we
are
and
what
the
next
steps
are
in
the
conversation.
B
So
I'm
I'm
going
to
stop
there
and
ask
dr
borba
to
add
to
that
or
make
comments
or
whatever
he
might,
because
he
was
there
too.
E
Yeah,
you
know
you
really
covered
it
well,
ed.
It
was
a
wonderful
meeting
I
felt
out
there
after
I
left
that
we
were
empowered
to
make
some
decisions,
which
I
think
is
important
for
us.
We're
very
concerned
about
the
poor
return
that
we've
been
getting
this
past
year
when
everybody
else
is
really
maximizing
their
their
incomes.
E
We
were
unable
to
do
that
and
it
looks
like
they
kind
of
gave
us
the
green
light,
I'm
on
two
other
boards,
and
they
one
of
them
has
an
endowment
of
a
little
bit
over
a
million
dollars
and
then
the
other
board
that
I'm
on.
E
We
have
an
annual
income
of
2
million
that
we
distribute
throughout
the
coachella
valley,
and
we
have
them
invested
either
in
the
community
foundation
or
with
wells,
fargo
advisors
and
the
return
that
we've
been
getting
far
exceeds
what
we've
been
getting
through
this
investment,
I'm
not
looking
at
personally
looking
at
pulling
them
all
out,
but
maybe
we
should
start
moving
some
of
that
money
into
other
investment
areas
for
our
own
protection
and
for
the
growth
of
the
library.
I'd
love
to
be
able
to
give
the
library
more
money.
A
There's
a
pay
there's
a
page
in
your
report
that
shows
the
fourth
quarter:
the
interest
income.
C
A
C
A
No,
it
was
a
good
meeting.
I
just
yeah,
I'm
optimistic
about
their
new
investment
company
and
see
what
what
sort
of
investments
that
they
are
talking
about
and
it's
possible,
like
you
said
it's
possible
that
that's
a
that's
a
great
option
just
to
stay
where
we
are,
but
she
also
invited
us
to
participate
in
their
in
her
weekly
investment.
Call
too.
E
B
A
No,
I
don't
think
so.
I
think
she's
just
she's
just
meeting
with
the
investor
just.
A
Well,
on
the
finance
on
the
city's
website:
they
they
do
a
monthly
financial
report
and
they
do
list
their
investments
and
all
the
different
investment
pools.
So
it's
included
in
the
city
council,
probably
once
a
month,
but
I
know
if
you
go
to
the
city's
finance
department.
That's
where
I
was.
I
was
on.
I've
been
updated
in
a
few
months
of
trying
to
you,
know,
move
the,
but
under
the
you
know
the
finance
department
and
then
you
go
to
treasury.
E
B
B
So
anything
else
janie
you,
I'm
sorry
did
I
I
didn't
mean
to
cut
you
off.
No,
it's
good.
So
I
think
that
we're
we're
at
the
point
to
where
we've
got
a
green
light.
So
it's
time
for
us
to
start,
I
think,
identifying
our
roles
as
the
the
board
of
trustees.
You
know
what
are
our
individual
roles
and
what
we
bring
to
the
table
and
what
we
have
to
do
to
take
on
this
fiscal
responsibility.
B
B
You
know
get
more
into
that
too,
since
you,
you
have
a
background
in
in
public
policy,
and
that
might
be
really
helpful
if
you
don't
mind,
but
I
I
think
we
just
need
to
create
a
job
description
for
us
that
says
here's
what
each
of
us
are
responsible
for
in
this
process,
and
I
think
that
would
be
a
great
start
and
then
I
think,
like
all
smart
investors,
what
I've
been.
What
I've
been
able
to
read
is
that
we
have
two
million
dollars.
B
Let's,
let's
look
at
all
of
our
options
and
see
what
the
best
options
are
and
have
them
do
the
work
for
us
have
people
tell
us,
you
know
if
I
had
your
two
million
dollars
with
what
I
would
do
or
if
I
had
your
half
a
million
here's
what
I
would
do
but
identifying
where
we
might
want
to
put
that
money
and
I'm
I'm
one.
B
I
I
like
to
see
multiple
places
to
be
honest,
because
I
think
that's
that's
my
opinion,
but
it
doesn't
mean
that's
what
we
have
to
do,
but
I
think
that's
where
we
could
look
at
ways
to
places
and
ways.
So
let
me
let
me
stop
there
and
see
what
anybody
else
might
be
thinking
about
juanita.
What
do
you
think
I
mean
you've
been
through
this
pathways
from
the
very
beginning?
What's
your
reaction
to
the
news.
D
Well,
I
think
it's
wonderful,
because
I
think
that
if,
if
I
mean
if
the
goal
is
to
make
money
for
the
library
that
that
wasn't
what
was
happening
before
I
mean
so,
it
seems
to
me
like
this
is
exactly
what
we
need
to
be
doing,
and
perhaps
whoever
the
city
is
now
contracting
with
is
going
to
be
a
really
good
option.
I
don't
know
I
mean
once
we
get
all
that
information.
D
That
might
be
the
easiest
way
to
go,
and
if
it's,
if
it's
a
good
return,
why
not?
Why
not?
Let
them
do
it
right,
so
I
I
wouldn't
want
to
take
on
that
huge
responsibility
if
we
have
a
really
good
option
through
the
city,
so
I'm
really
interested
to
know
what
they
can
do
and
then
and
then
make
the
decision.
B
You
you
jiggle
something
in
my
mind
that
I
I
wanted
a
point
I
wanted
to
make.
So
thank
you.
One
of
the
things
that
I
did
like
or
that
I
heard
from
the
city
finance
manager
is
that
and,
as
craig
pointed
out,
we
could
be
at
the
table
looking
at
how
they're
directing
our
funds
and
our
investments,
whereas
we've
never
really
had
that
ex.
B
You
know,
look
into
it
right
now
right,
but
I
feel
like
we
could
say
that
we
yeah
we
want
to
be
on
those
calls,
but
we
also
may
want
to
have
a
relationship
with
that
company
when
it
comes
to
our
money
to
make
sure
that
it's
handled
a
certain
way
as
well
too.
So
that
was
one
point
that
I
kind
of
walked
away
with
that
I
felt
like
they
were
open
to
working
with
us
on,
but
thank
you.
C
Ed,
can
I
I
don't
know
if
it's
this
the
appropriate
moment
tangentially,
but
I
know
several
people
on
the
major
j
commission
as
you
do
as
well.
E
C
When
they
found
out,
I
was
being
appointed,
you
know
on
the
library
trustee
more
than
one
came,
and
they
said
you
know
what
the
library
needs
to
do
is
come
to
us
with
a
multi-year
proposal
for
funds
and-
and
I
mean
they
opened
up
the
door.
I
mean
you,
don't
tell
somebody
as
a
trustee
say,
hey,
come
and
ask
us
for
money,
but
they
did,
but
that's
just
another
revenue
stream
that
we
need
to
consider.
Probably,
but.
C
It
needs
to
be
a
multi-year
request
for
funds
with
x
number
per
year,
but
to
come
up
with
some
type
of
what
it
is
we
want
to
do
and
how
much
we
want
to
ask
and
measure
j.
I
mean
they.
They
have
quite
a
few
funds,
although
the
city
council
does
really
direct
most
of
the
use
on
how
it
is,
but
but
anyway,
I
just
wanted
to
throw
that
in
the
mix
as
we're
looking
at
resources.
B
B
Sure
measure
j
is,
it
was
an
assessment
right,
a.
C
B
Assessment
and
the
side
note
to
that
is
the
library
was
used
as
a
reason
to
pass
it
because
the
library
is
going
to
receive
all
this
money
and
be
a
wonderful
place.
I'm
I'm
being
facetious,
excuse
me,
but
so
the
library
was
always
intended
to
receive
so
much
fun.
But
you
know
it's
it's
money
that
helps
us
have
good
streets.
B
You
know
it
goes
to
the
parks
and
commissions,
so
jeannie's
going
to
get
a
little
money
at
that
from
her
her
role
as
well,
but
it's
money
that
comes
to
the
city
and
they
have
a
five-year
plan
where
they
take
that
money
and
dedicate
it
to
top
10
projects.
The
last
time
I
was
at
one
of
their
meetings
and
the
good
news
is
the
library
is
in
the
top
ten
now
for
the
next
five
years.
B
So
we
know
that
our
projects
have
been
promised
and
promised
to
us
and
they're
keeping
their
word
and
we're
in
that
top
ten.
So
it's
money
to
renovate
the
main
library
and
to
renovate
the
building,
that's
next
to
the
main
library.
So
I
don't
know
if
that
helps
or
not,
but
that's
yeah.
B
Okay,
yeah,
we
all
we
all
pay
into
it
and
all
of
our
guests
who
come
see
us
every
weekend.
You
know
all
the
time,
so
it's
it's
a
great
source
of
money.
Unfortunately,
just
as
you
know,
we
were
ready
to
get
that
approved
literally
the
week
that
the
city
shut
down
for
covet
and
erased
all
the
money
from
that
fund.
Thinking
that
we
were
in
fiscal
crisis
that
they
could
not
have
that
money
doing
any
project,
everything
was
wiped
clean.
We
all
just
lost,
because
we
had
been
working
so
hard
to
get
it
ready.
B
We
they
were
ready
to
sign
it
off
to
us
so
that
we
can
start
these
projects.
So
we
I've
been
to
the
meetings
to
secure
the
fact
that
we
are
back
in
the
list.
They
I
attended,
one
where
they
were
trying
to
engage
me,
but
I
wasn't
on
the
agenda,
so
I
didn't
speak,
but
they
are
ready
for
us
to
come
back
and
present
to
them
a
plan
on
how
we
want
to
use
this
money
over
the
next
five
years,
so
that
will
be
part
of
our
responsibility
very
soon.
B
Now,
having
said
that,
those
of
you
may
remember,
I
was
charged
to
coordinate
a
meeting
of
this
group
and
the
president
of
the
foundation
and
the
president
of
the
friends
to
come
and
have
a
brainstorming
session
to
talk
with
jeannie.
She
would
practically
be
the
leader
of
this
to
identify
her
top
priorities,
things
that
she
needs
so
that
we
could
make
our
decisions,
knowing
that
these
are
things
that
genie
feels
are
important
to
the
library
over
the
next
five
years.
B
So,
for
example-
and
I
and
I
I
think
we
have
to
say
this,
if
gene
says
you
know,
I
don't
think
that
we
can
handle
the
main
library
innovation
for
the
next
three
years.
Well,
that's
good
to
know.
Instead,
she
might
say
well.
I
think
that
I
need
to
do
blank
whatever
that
project
is,
is
what
we
want
to
get
behind
and
measure
j
money
might
be.
Part
of
that
trust
fund
might
be
part
of
that.
B
The
library
foundation
could
be
part
of
that,
but
I've
been
as
a
matter
of
fact,
jeanne
david
sivley
asked
me
when
that
meeting
was
coming,
the
foundation
is
anxious
to
have
that
meaning
because
of
their
their
letter
and
their
fundraising
campaigns.
So
I
think
we
need
to
look-
and
I
know
that
you
know
when,
when
do
you
start
this
dual
position:
jeannie
you're,
looking
at
me
like,
oh
god,
here
she,
I'm
gonna,
put
a
meeting
on
her.
B
A
But
I
I
think
7c
is
a
key
part
of
the
whole
everything
the
big
picture.
B
Plan
I
see
you're
right
so
the
last
time
I
tried
to
pull
that
group
together.
It
was
hurting
cats
and
it
it
because
everybody
was
everywhere
and
it
was
a
bad
time
of
the
year.
I
think
that
I've
got
to
try
it
one
more
time,
and
just
so
you
know
david
and
now
we
we
can't
meet,
and
if,
if
more
than
two
of
us
come
together,
we
have
a
quorum
and
it's
brown
acting.
B
The
meeting
is
open,
so
we
just
decided
that
we
all
will
be
there
we'll
make
it
a
board
of
trustees
meeting
and
invite
the
president
of
the
foundation,
the
president
of
of
france
and
just
have
a
discussion,
and
if
members
of
the
public
want
to
join
hey,
I
I
think
that's
a
great
idea.
You
know
come
and
share
with
us
what
your
ideas
are
so
I'll.
I
will
take
that
on
now
that
it's
the
first
of
september
and
see
how
soon
we
can
get
that
group
back
together.
A
Yeah
yeah.
I
have
a
suggestion
because
that
craig
gorba
did
you
have
something
to
say:
yeah.
E
A
Yeah-
and
I
did
have
suggestions
on
that
specifically
to
say
who
should
focus
on
what-
and
I
think
you
know
that
nation
technology
is
great
and
capital
and
things
like
that
and
but
but
when
we
talk
about
7c,
which
we
should
I
these.
B
F
In
my
own
background,
I
have
seen
over
and
over
again
how
critically
important
it
is
for
an
entity
that
has
multiple
fundraising
marks.
Shall
we
say
to
coordinate
those
arms
so
that
everything
can
not
only
go
smoothly
but
can
go
most
effectively
without
that
campaigns
can
really
backfire.
So
I
I
just
wanna
underscore
what
you
were
saying
about
that
craig.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
Dave.
E
But
the
other
thing
I
was
thinking
before
we
close
out
on
item
d
here
is
that
maybe
down
the
through
the
year,
we
can
have
different
people
come
and
speak
to
us
on
how
they
would
handle
our
investments,
maybe
up
to
a
million
dollars.
What
would
they
do
with
that?
And
maybe
just
set
15
minutes
for
them
to
come?
B
So
I'll
I'll
be
happy
to
take
that
on
with
al,
and
maybe
we
can
identify
and
start
working
on
that.
I
think
it's
a
great
idea.
It's
part
of
our
education
in
our
mother
education,
but
our
due
diligence.
I
think
that's
a
great
idea,
yeah
good
idea.
B
Okay,
anything
else
before
we
close
this
one
out
and
move
to
see.
Thank
you
guys.
I
met
now's
the
time
I
mean.
I
think
that
we
see
good
things
ahead
for
this
organization
and
I'm
I'm
excited
about
our
money,
doing
what
we
needed
to
do
and
meeting
and
by
the
way,
this
this
money's
been
around
how
long
jenny
100
years
I
mean
it
started
a
long
time
ago,
1975.
A
Before
then
it
was,
it
was
just
the
library
was
separate
from
the
city,
I
think
so.
1938.
B
You
know
my
point
being
is
we're
interested
with
it
for
a
very
short
time
in
the
long
range
plan,
so
whatever
we
do
for
future
generations
future
people
sitting
in
this
this
group,
I
think
it's
important
for
us
to
take
it
in
that
direction.
So
thank
all
you
guys
for
your
participation
in
this
very
important
topic
stay
tuned.
So,
let's
move
on
to
seven
seats,
so
I
didn't
realize
we
had
a
form.
A
Okay,
so
the
city
council
is
planning
to
have
a
visioning
session.
This
is
why
I'm
I'm
like
we.
We
should
all
get
together
at
the
same
time,
because
they
are
going
to
work
on
the
visioning
session.
The
depart
every
department
in
the
city
we're
working
on
our
own
department,
level,
vision,
priorities
and
then
all
of
the
boards
and
commissions
are
working
on
theirs
and
then
all
that
gets
submitted
to
the
council
and
they're
going
to
come
together
with
most.
A
Heads
I'm
not
sure
if
all
it
says,
maybe
not
all
of
them
are
required
to
attend,
but
coming
together
with
the
departments
we're
going
to
do
a
council
visioning
session,
it's
slated
for
friday
november
19th
and
saturday
november
20th,
so
it's
in
november.
A
So
then
I
was
thinking
that
if
you
wanted
to
have
a
group
meeting,
maybe
we
do
at
the
first
meeting
in
december
after
this
council
has
set
their
priorities
because
we
can
have
priorities
all
day
long
and
say
we
want
to
do
something.
And
then,
if
they
say
it's
not
a
priority
for
the
city,
then
we're
just
spinning
our
wheels.
We
want
to
make
sure
we're
in
line
with
what
they're
prioritizing.
B
B
A
C
Yeah,
I'm
just
suggesting
I
mean
there's
two
ways
of
looking
at
it
and
you
you
posed
one
one
approach:
the
other
is
that
we
meet
in
advance
of
that
and
we
try
to
influence
the
outcome.
A
B
A
Meeting
as
the
board
of
library
trustees
to
develop
our
influence
list.
A
E
A
Okay,
so
this
is
what
lisa
julian.
C
And
excuse
me:
I
just
need
to
step
away
for
a
moment.
I've
got
painters
here
as
well
as
electricians
I'll
be
right
back.
So
don't
stop
my
behalf
I'll
catch
up
here.
We're.
A
E
A
I
know
this
is
sorry,
it
wasn't
included,
but
we
just
worked
on
it.
So
the
library's
primary
function
is
that
we
offer
educational
resources
and
entertainment
options
for
our
community
through
all
stages
of
life.
We
took
the
our
current
strategic
plan
that
we
did
work
on
together.
We
took
that
and
and
tried
to
implement
aspects
of
our
strategic
plan
into
our
priority
list
to
to
set
our
goals.
So
our
current
fiscal
year
priorities
that
we
we
were
only
allowed
to
do
two.
A
Even
though
there
are
three
lines,
they
told
us
to
develop
two
priorities,
so
our
first
one.
We
think
that
this
says
it
has.
A
lot
of
importance
is
to
increase
library
card
users.
We
have
a
lot
of
really
great
services
and
we
want
to
make
sure
that
our
community
knows
about
that,
and
we
decided
that
we
could
do
that
through
increasing
the
number
of
library
card
holders.
A
Now,
how
the
how
is
it
listed
here,
but
we
want
to
work
with
the
schools
and
other
community
groups
to
focus
on
children
and
teens
to
give
them
library
cards,
and
we
think
that
that
will
be
a
great
service
for
for
our
kids.
A
So
we
think
that
this
priority
will,
in
fact
increase
library,
usage,
increase
the
awareness
of
the
library
and
make
sure
that
people
know
about
all
the
great
things
that
we
already
pay
for.
So
that's
our
priority
number
one
number
two
is
that
we
need
to
create
spaces
in
the
current
library
facility
to
meet
community
needs.
This
is
a
direct
quote
from
our
strategic
plan
and
the
rationale
behind
this
is
that
we
have
no
small
meeting
rooms
or
small
classrooms,
and
we
have
a
need
for
that.
A
We
just
don't
have
the
space,
so
our
measure
of
success
would
be
that
we
would
convert
our
storage
room
in
the
main
library
to
a
small
media
room
and
then
this
is
where
measure
j
comes
in,
convert
the
jc
fry
and
maybe
that
small
meeting
room
too
mr
j
could
come
in
but
al
jones.
This
is
where
the
measure
j
comes
in
is
to
convert
the
jc
fry
building
into
a
much
needed,
flexible
library,
space
and
that's
on
their
five-year
plan.
A
B
A
No
okay,
the
measure
j
does
have
a
dollar
amount
attached
to
it,
but
this
for
this
purpose
we're
just
setting
goals.
No
no
money.
C
A
Oh,
we
we're
aware
the
city's
building
an
engineering
department
has
come
up
with
some
estimates
on
costs
and
those
are
included
in
the
measure
j
five
year
plan,
so
it's
in
there
and
then
in
2022.
Our
new
priorities
are
areas
of
focus.
A
A
A
We
want
to
take
a
a
focus
on
that
and
and
look
at
them
and
then
number
two
we
want
to.
This
is
where
you
all
come
into.
We
want
to
create
a
vision
and
a
design
for
the
new
library
and,
as
with
our
strategic
plan,
the
new
library
new
could
mean
renovate
or
build
a
new
library.
A
A
A
We
want
to
create
a
focus
group
to
examine
our
policies
and
provide
feedback
on
the
possible
changes
to
our
policies,
and
then
we
need
champions
to
help
us
move
that
new
library
across
the
finish
line,
whether
that's
a
library
board
of
trustees,
friends,
city
council,
we
need
advocates
to
help,
get
this
project
completed
and
then
for
the
the
any
process,
improvements
that
we
would
suggest.
We
need
to
work
with
human
here's.
These
are
kind
of
the
how
this
is
how
we
would
do
it.
E
B
I
mean
I,
I
think
that
you
probably
have
given
us
a
foundation
for
what
our
priority
should
be.
To
be
perfectly
honest,
I
mean
I'm
you're
taking
notes
as
you
go
through
this
and
I
hate
to
plagiarize,
but
I
think
there
are
probably
things
on
here
that
we
probably
should
just
move
right
over
to
you
know
our
list
with
some
additional
tweaks.
I
mean
anybody
else
have
any
reaction
to
this
or
no.
D
I
think
that
that
jamie
jeannie
knows
knows
best,
obviously
he's
the
one
that's
gonna
be
able
to
tell
us
exactly
what
is
needed.
I
think
that
you
know
right
on.
This
is
great.
I
have
no
argument
there.
A
B
A
Was
just
going
to
email
it
to
you,
but
I
needed
this.
C
For
instance,
increasing
the
number
of
library
card
users-
I
I
don't,
I
don't
know
what
what
steps
you've
already
outlined
or
what
what
we
could
do.
I
will
tell
you
from
my
tour
one
of
the
things
that
excited
me
and
I'm
going
to
do
as
soon
as
I
could
do
it,
and
I
wasn't
aware
access
to
periodicals
like
the
new
york
times
I
mean
what
is
the
strategy
to
increase?
C
I
guess
I'm
asking
library
card
holders
and
usage
of
the
library
to
to
I
mean
you,
you
have
a
lot
of
information
that
you
share
out
there
all
of
our
organizations.
We
all
have
the
same
problem.
C
We
just
no
matter
what
we
develop
and
put
out
and
share
it
just
doesn't
seem
to
always
get
out
to
where
we
want
it
to
get
out,
and
you
know
that's
that's
anyone
who
can
come
up
and
and
and
and
decipher
that
code
will
be
a
multi-millionaire
overnight,
but
anyway
I
guess
I
I
don't
want
to
belabor
that
right
now
I
just
I
have
a
lot
of
questions
about.
I
see
the
priorities
are
the
rationale
and
the
measures
for
success,
but
I
don't
see
the
steps
to
to
reach
that.
A
And
that
we
struggled
with
that
too,
because
it
didn't
really
ask
us
the
how-
and
we
were
talking
about
this-
and
we
we've
done
an
awareness
campaign
and
and
that's
kind
of
the
bottom
line
behind
the
scenes.
What
we're
trying
to
do
we're
trying
to
bring
awareness
to
all
the
things
we
already
pay
for.
We've
got
great
resources,
but
people
don't
know
about
it,
and
so
we're
like
what
what's
the
clear
priority
ultimately
will
get
us
awareness
about
our
services
and
it
resets
priority
is
something
we
can
define.
C
I
mean
there's
just
a
lot
of
other
avenues
that
we
may
not
have
thought
of.
I
don't
know
I
I
always
had.
I
usually
sit
back
and
don't
talk
the
first
couple
of
meetings
when
I'm
on
a
new
board,
because
I'm
so
uninformed
and
but
I
I
I'm
having
a
hard
time,
not
asking
some
questions
on
the
first
meeting.
So
I
apologize
to
you
in
advance.
C
It's
not
my
way
of
approaching
board
meetings,
but
I
you
know
that
the
the
idea
of
meeting
with
main
street-
I
don't
know
if
we've
ever
met
with
main
street
to
share
with
you
know
all
of
the
proprietors
of
the
businesses
on
palm
canyon
and
in
the
allied
areas.
You
know.
What's
what
is
the
library?
What
are
the
resources
that
are
available?
C
How
can
we
support
what
they're
doing,
or
you
know
I
can
go
right
through
a
whole
litany
of
groups
that
we
had
to
meet
with
over
about
a
seven
month
period
and
we
probably
reached
several
thousand
people
who
knew
nothing
about
what
we
were
doing.
Their
input
was
vital
and
important
anyway.
I
I
don't
again
ed
shut
me
up,
so
I
don't
keep
going
on.
B
Here:
here's
what
I'd
like
to
do
if
we
can
I'd
like
to
throw
out
some
ideas
based
on
just
my
my
tenure
and
what
I
think
basing
on
the
strategic
plan
for
us
to
discuss
and
maybe
choose
what
that
takes
up
so,
for
example,
2021
to
2022
our
top
priority.
We
just
discussed
and
that's
establishing
investment
strategies
for
the
trust
fund,
so
that
it
it
grows
right.
I
mean
we
all
just
agree
that
that
is
probably
our
top
priority,
because
it
will
benefit
the
library
in
the
long
run.
B
Right
I
mean
it's
all
about
benefiting
the
library
and
the
citizens
correct
right.
I
I
think
that
we
could
easily
put.
There
is
our
first
one
that
we
we
want
to
get
our
handles
around
that
the
second
one.
Quite
honestly,
I
think
we
add
a
few
words
to
what
jenny
put
here
and
it
may
be
to
secure
funding
to
create
spaces
in
the
current
library
facility
right.
So
there.
F
B
F
I
agree
with
you
on
both
count
said.
I
think
the
first
part
of
our
matrix
really
needs
to
be
the
investment
question
that
we
were
discussing
a
few
moments
ago,
just
as
you
said,
and
then.
Secondly,
it
makes
sense
that
we
are
in
parallel
with
what
our
director
has.
F
B
Yeah-
and
I
I
think
that
genie,
what
we
could
we
could
do-
you've
got
some
great
people
here
to
help
us
figure
out
that
rationale,
but
you
know
it's
to
provide
funding
but
number
one
to
the
future.
I
I
want
us
to
say
that
this
is
for
not
just
now.
B
This
is
for
the
future
of
the
library
and
the
measures
will
be
the
success
of
investments
and
the
money
that
we're
able
to
bring
into
the
trust
fund,
but
I
think,
checking
your
number
two
and
just
rephrasing
it
to
say
that
we're
going
to
try
to
help
you
find
the
money
to
do.
That
makes
a
lot
of
sense
for
the
second
part,
by
the
way
this
is
for
21-22.
A
B
I
think
that
we
are,
our
top
party
would
be
to
the
the
one
about
helping
you
secure
funding
to
create
the
vision
for
the
design
of
the
new
library.
I
mean
we're
that's
what
we're
here
for
right
is
to
help
you
find
a
way
to.
We
know
it's
a
top
priority
for
the
council.
We
know
it's
a
priority
for
the
city,
but
we
need
to
make
sure
that
it
happens.
That's
our
goal
with
finding
the
money.
Why.
B
E
Don't
know
can
can
we
maybe
just
leave
it
more
general
and
put
create
new
funding
for
library
facilities.
Yes,
yes,.
B
And
where
I
think
that
we
can
use
either
rationale
helping
guys
here,
either
rationale
or
measure
would
be
to
for
us
to
using
our
other
non-profits
that
are
are
dedicated
to
the
library
to
help
us
achieve
that.
So
you
know
we
have
a
three-way
punch,
we've
got
us,
we've
got
the
friends,
we
got
the
foundation,
so
you
know
we
want
to
include
them
here
to
say
that
they're
going
to
help
us
achieve
these.
That's
that
goal
right
finding
a
way
to
fit
them
in
there.
A
A
B
A
Then
you
might
want
to
advocate
for
the
project
as
to.
B
Well
find
the
money
could
include
not
only
advocating
the
city
to
find
city
resources
to
help
us,
but
also
to
explore
the
community
resources
through
our
nonprofits.
Yes,
so
I
I
don't
ever
want
us
to.
B
A
I
can
we
have
to
turn
it
into
the
city
and
then,
if
I'm
not
sure
if
this
becomes
public,
but
I
can
I
I'm
happy
to
share
this.
We're
well.
B
B
A
B
A
Okay,
I,
like
it
one
question:
can
you
think
of
what
your
significant
recent
accomplishments
are
for
the
past
few
years
that
you're
most
proud
of.
B
Well,
yeah:
we
we
helped,
we
helped
the
city
redo,
the
wellwood
library
I
mean
we've,
that's
a
big
one
that
took
us.
You
know
that
was
150
years
to
get
done,
but
at
least
we
got
it
done
and
the
patio
the
patio
we've
we've
we've
been
instrumental
in
that.
I
think
you
should
just
reflect
on
the
the
projects
that
the
trust
fund
has
been
used
on
in
the
last
few
years.
Right
well,
would
what's
the
other.
Oh
we've
bought
books
and
materials
for
the
library.
E
We
bought
some
processing
software
for
you,
didn't
we
for
books
about
a
year
and
a
half
ago,
either
for
checking
books
in
or
checking
something
out.
I
thought.
B
B
A
Maybe
I'll
put
a
supplement
in
the
library
budget
or
augmented
the
library
budget
through
purchase
of
books
and
materials,
or
something
like
that.
Yeah.
B
I
have
my
I
have
an
idea
genie.
I
think
you
could
stress
that
it
was
to
be
quest
from
the
community
through
the
trust
fund
that
helped
you
augment
that,
because
I
think
it's.
We
need
to
stress
that
this
is
money.
That's
coming
from
people
in
the
community,
giving
us
money
and
leaving
us
money
to
do
those
projects
and
we're
the
keepers
of
it.
E
A
And
you
did
the
the
building
project
really
the
the
consultant
for
that
too.
B
I
also
gave
money
for
julie's
campaign
awareness
right,
so
we
did.
Did
we
give
her
money
for
that
yeah
25
grand
yeah
for
community
awareness,
okay,.
B
B
Well,
we've
just
talked
about
that.
I
mean
we're
coming
together
to
identify
investment
strategies
so
that
our
money
will
grow
and
we
can
fund
programs
long
term
short
term
and
long
term.
So
I
think
that
that's
probably
what
shouldn't
that
be
noted
and
be
stressed
that
that's
what
we're
doing
right
now.
Well,
I
would
say.
F
End
but
I
would
add
a
second
saying,
coordination
and
longer
term
planning
of
fundraising
efforts.
B
I
don't
I
don't
mean
to
hold
the
conversation,
but
I
think
we
have
to
be
real
clear
that
we've
got
to
form
a
much
stronger,
better
partnership
with
the
city,
so
that
when
we
do
raise
money,
it's
easy
by
the
way,
guys
you
just
it's
it's
hard
to
give
the
city
money
we
raise
for
them
right.
So
we
got
to
work
on
that
process
to
make
sure
that
it's
easy
for
us
to
raise
money
and
give
the
city
money
or
the
library.
B
So
I
think
that
we
need
to
make
sure
that
process
is
and
we've
got
their
attention.
So
I
think
we
need
to
make
sure
that
process
is
shined
and
ready
to
go.
In
my
opinion,.
A
B
So
jeannie
you
want
to
take
a
stab
at
filling
this
in
and
sending
it
out
to
all
of
us.
I
don't
mind.
I
know
you've
got
a
lot
on
your
plate,
so
I
don't
mind
coordinating
all
the
feedback
and
from
everybody,
but
you
know
if
you,
if
you'll,
take
our
notes
and
maybe
put
it
into
the
form,
we
can
all
start
chewing
on
it
and
share
it
together,
how's,
that
is
everybody.
Okay,
with
that.
A
Yeah,
I
I'll
type
it
up
and
get
it
out
to
you
one
of
these
soon
days.
A
Yeah,
that's
great!
This
is
this
is
great.
I
think
I'm
very
happy
about
what
you've
listed
here
on
the
on
the
sheet.
B
B
B
B
I
am
too
all
right,
let's
move
along
so
at
this
point
in
our
agenda,
we're
at
number
eight-
and
this
is
where
we
identify
trustees-
are
able
to
speak.
We
have
comments
and
we
can
put
future
agenda
items
for
us
to
discuss.
I
think
that
the
one
that
I
want
to
make
sure
is
on
there
is
this
joint
meeting
genie
that
we
have
with
the
organizations,
so
I
feel
like
we
feel
anxious
about
this.
I'm
not.
D
B
Yeah,
we
could.
What
do
you
guys?
What
what
is
the
pleasure
of
this
group?
You
want
to
do
a
special
meeting
or
you
want
to
add
it
to
our
agenda.
I
would
tend.
D
A
B
B
A
C
A
C
B
A
A
30.,
I
know
juanita
works
and
has
yeah.
You
know.
D
I'm
I'm
fine
it.
You
know.
Wednesdays
is
a
short
date
for
me,
so
you
know
because
it
doesn't
matter,
I'm
fine.
I'm
I'm
off
work
at
one
o'clock
in
the
afternoon.
So.
C
B
B
A
You
know
we
want
to
make
sure
that
they
don't
have
to
do.
Oh
really,
yeah
they're,
not
brown
act
required
groups.
B
B
Okay,
great
anything
else
from
anyone.
F
Ever
so
quickly,
I
want
to
thank
ginny
for
a
very
fine
orientation
and
ed
for
your
kind,
welcome
and
to
you
all
for
welcoming
thank.
F
B
I
would
like
to
point
out
before
I
adjourn
that
if
you
look
on
the
agenda,
we
do
have
some
committees
that
we
need
volunteers
for
and
I'm
I
really
like
to
keep
this
up
to
someone
raising
their
hand,
saying
oh,
I
would
love
to
be
on
this
committee
or
I
would
love
to
be
on
that
committee.
So,
if
you
want
to
think
about
them-
and
maybe
send
me
a
note,
I'll
certainly
can
do
and
we
can
discuss
it
next
time.
But,
more
importantly,
let
me
draw
your
attention
to.
B
You:
will
need
two
foundation:
liaisons,
two
friends
liaison
and
a
measure
jay
leia's
off,
so
those
are
where
you
will
be
required
to
attend
meetings
and
be
on
other
boards,
so
those
do
require
outside
this
meeting
schedule
time
I
can
tell
you:
the
foundation
meets
once
a
month.
Friends
meet
once
a
month.
Measure
j,
I
think,
they're
on
a
are
they
every
two
weeks?
Are
they
on
a
monthly?
I
don't.
C
D
A
They
wanted
to
meet
as
a
group,
but
they
cannot
meet
here
yet
we're
not
allowed
to
person
anything
here.
I.
B
Mean
I
will
tell
you
that
on
the
foundation
there
has
been
some
discussion
that
during
the
winter
hours
they
we
have
some
members
who
don't
like
to
travel
in
the
dark
or
drive
in
the
dark.
So
we
have
in
the
past,
maybe
made
some
adjustments
during
the
winter
hours,
but
now
that
we're
meeting
virtually
that's
not
so
much
an
issue
just
so.
You
know.
D
B
Yeah
but-
and
we've
worked
through
that
so
so
measure
j
you
would
like
to
volunteer
for
that
al.
You
said
he
does.
We
got
him
down
now.
Craig
you
had
said
you
wanted
to
move
from
the
foundation
to
the
friends
at
one
point:
are
you
still
thinking
about
that?
Is
that
what
you
wanted
to
do.
B
Okay,
so,
and
on
the
foundation,
I
I
don't
mind
serving
if
there's
someone
else
who
wants
to
join
me,
anybody
else
about
you
join
me
on
the
foundation.
D
C
B
B
Yeah,
the
the
budget
is
once
a
year.
We
come
together
to
review
our
budget
and
to
present
a
budget
to
this
organization.
So
it's
not
an
ongoing
service.
Buildings
is
working
with
jeannie
and
her
team.
B
If
there's
any
projects
around
buildings
which
we
already
know
are
going
to
be
in
our
priorities,
so
whoever
is
on
that
particular
committee
is
probably
going
to
have
their
hands
full
as
we
move
forward
with
the
new
building
and
thank
god
biologists
have
come
up
that
often
so,
however,
we
do
have
a
bylaw
change
right,
bylaws
for
the
election,
so
we
have
in
our
bylaws.
We
elect
officers
in
july,
so
we
have
to
change
that.
Don't
would
you.
B
So
that
is
one
group
that
does
various
ugly
hit
every
once
in
a
while.
But
it's
it's
it's
painless.
You
just
have
to
modify
and
get
us
to
vote
on
it.
So
with
that,
if
there's
something
that's
that's
jumping
out
at
you
and
if
there's
something
that
you
would
like
to
be
considered
in
the
future
or
be
aware
of
I'm
happy
to
consider
that
as
well.
So.
B
E
B
That
david
and
al
you're
here
to
join
us,
and
I
hope
that
you
enjoyed
your
first
meeting.
