Swimming Lessons, Screen Time, and Karaoke in Downtown – tune in for details in this week’s Plano On The Go.

Planning and Zoning meets Monday, June 17th at 7 p.m, and City Council will meet on Tuesday, June 18 at 7 p.m. During Tuesday’s meeting, Council will canvassing the runoff election results and seat new Council members. Meetings are held in in the Senator Florence Shapiro Council Chambers at Plano Municipal Center Watch meetings in person, on or on the City’s Facebook page.

The World’s Largest Swimming lesson is back! Join us at Jack Carter Pool on Thursday, June 20th for a fun-filled event – you’ll get a free swimming lesson and certificate, along with participating in a worldwide attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the largest swimming lesson. The event is free but you must pre-register. 8-9 a.m.

Parents – did you know studies show children ages 8-18 spend on average 7.5 hours a day in front of a screen? Join the Plano Police Department at Davis Library on Friday, June 21st. You’ll discuss some of the most popular applications used by children and young teens along and leave with tips on healthier device use. 9:30-11 a.m.

Come sing under the stars at Karaoke Night at McCall Plaza! This free event on Friday, June 21st is a great way to close out your week. 7-10:30 p.m.

Register to attend the Sprinkler Fair on Saturday, June 22nd. Learn basic irrigation skills in a friendly, hands-on environment at Plano’s Environmental Education Center. You must pre-register. 10-noon,
