David
perkins
ian
milne,
shawn
harrigan,
here
rick
dardy,
here
norman
ashworth
here,
okay
and
then
we
were
going
to
move
election
of
chair
to
the
that's.
What.
B
So
we
can
do
that
right
away
and
then,
if
you
aren't
or
if
we
have
someone
else
a
point
to
tear,
then
we
would
switch
right
away.
Though.
A
B
Anybody
else
want
to
put
in
a
vote
for
someone,
so
we
also
get.
C
B
B
Time
yep
but
you're
the
chair
for
now,
and
then
I
wanted
to
request
that
we
swear
everyone
in
for
the
public
hearings
right
away,
so
I
can
get
that
through
and
if
anyone
walks
in
once
the
thing
the
public
hearing
is
started,
then
we'll
swear
them
in
again,
but
is
that
okay
yeah?
That's.
B
Anyone
wishing
to
offer
testimony
in
the
ccsps
today
please
stand
and
raise
your
right
hand,
even
if
you
think
you
might.
I.
B
A
Okay,
we're
good
all
right
next
scheduled
meeting
is
june
8th.
Does
anybody
have
a
problem
with
that
all
righty?
I
guess
we're
going
on
then
approval
of
the
minutes
from
from
the
last
meeting
yeah.
D
Mr
dowdery,
we
did
bypass
item
two,
which
is
citizens
comments
on
agenda
items
only
oh
okay.
So
if
anybody
in
the
audience
has
a
comment
they
want
to
make
on
agenda
items
only
please
speak
up.
Go
up
to
the
podium
state,
your
name.
A
D
D
Okay,
budget
utilization
reports.
Yes,
so
we
have
completed
our
seawall
replacement
program
for
this
fiscal
year.
We
are
expecting
the
mangrove
trimming
to
begin
the
beginning
of
june,
providing
equipment's
running
and
everything
is
on
schedule.
That's
what
we're
scheduled
for
the
perimeter
canal.
Mangrove
trimming
is
the
beginning
of
june,
okay,
inlet
dredging.
So
every
two
years
we
go
out
on
the
perimeter
canal
and
we
do
a
sonar
reading.
We
just
want
to
make
sure
that
our
perimeter
channel
is
at
its
proper
depth,
we're
going
to
do
that
in
july.
D
That
way,
I'll
still
have
time
to
get
the
contractor
out
there
before
october
1st,
to
get
the
dredging
done.
We
know
in
front
of
mayor's
cut.
We
always
have
to
dredge
that
we
know
we
have
that
dredging
to
do,
but
we
want
to
be
able
to
go
through
the
entire
perimeter
canal
to
make
sure
we
have
no
silt
buildup
anywhere
else,
because
we
spent
a
lot
of
money
on
dredging
that
whole
canal.
We
want
to
keep
it
maintained.
D
D
D
C
D
J
For
the
record,
gary
district
engineering
get
your
master
agreement
status
report
and,
as
you
can
see,
we've
kind
of
passed.
The
taylor
engineering.
J
The
cip
one,
let's
start
with
the
cip
one,
my
fault
or
through
the
taylor
engineering
we've
got.
The
final
report
submitted
on
that
one
good
news
is
on
the
the
widening
of
the
inlet.
We've
received
only
a
one
question
rai
from
army
corps
and
the
consultant
has
already
resubmitted
that
back
into
army
course.
So
it
was
a
very
simple
question
to
be
answered.
So
that's
back
in.
J
That's
a
good
question:
well
we're
we're
all
the
way
back
to
army
corps.
We
went
through
national
marine
fisheries
services
through
army
corps,
so
right
now,
they're
they're
working
on
writing
the
permit.
J
From
army
corps,
so
that's
what
we've
been
told,
but
we
were
told
that
in
january
after
we,
after
the
national
fisheries
services,
submitted
their
information
to
army
corps.
So
I'm
not
sure
why
the
last
minute
question
came
up,
but
it
looks
like
we're
getting
real,
close.
Okay,
well,
that'd
be
terrific.
J
A
long
round
on
that
one
yeah
are
there
any
questions
on
the
cip
report
all
right
on
to
the
master,
permitting
agreements.
Let's
see
here,
we
received
on
the
seawall
riprap
permit.
There
was
a
single
question
rai
from
dep,
which
basically
said:
there's
additional
fees
due
based
on
the
size
of
the
project,
we're
working
on
trying
to
pay
those
fees,
but
they
haven't
opened
up
the
portal
yet
to
be
able
to
do
that.
J
We
just
verified
that
just
just
before
I
left
the
office,
it's
still
not
open
for
the
payment,
so
once
we
get
that
payment
made,
we
should
be
good
on
the
dep
and
we
did
receive
an
rai
from
army
corps
on
april
22nd
and
our
consultant
has
been
working
with
army
corps
or
trying
to
work
with
army
corps
on
getting
some
some
responses.
The
rei
that
came
out
was
a
very
broad
rei,
so
it's
kind
of
like
okay.
J
We
need
some
direction
on
which
way
to
go
with
this
thing,
so
we're
still
working
towards
that
one
still
waiting
on
our
inlet
dredging
we've
started
that
specific
authorization
process.
J
The
po
has
been
issued
to
hans
wilson
and
associates
for
the
dockside
dredging
permit,
so
he'll
be
working
towards
that
one
and
then
the
other
two
lashley,
marina
ones
or
the
flashlight
marina
one
doesn't
have
to
do
anything
with
this
board,
but
we're
working
on
submerged
land
leaks
out
there
for
the
marina.
Under
this
master
agreement.
C
D
The
bsi
wise,
okay,
okay,
the
bsi
seawall
assessment,
so
we
agreed
when
we
had
the
seawall
study
that
we
were
going
to
do
the
assessment
every
other
year.
That's
one
of
the
things
that
we
all
approved
and
agreed
on
and
council
agreed
also,
so
the
numbers
that
you
see
before
you
are
from
2019,
I'm
sorry,
2020,
okay,
that
was
last
year's
assessment.
D
D
I'm
not
telling
you
that
your
sea
wall
is
bad
and
we
need
to
replace
it
tomorrow,
I'm
just
giving
you
the
figures:
okay,
our
sea
wall
assessment,
as
you
can
see
up
here
on
the
top
of
your
of
the
table
here-
that
81
percent
over
81
percent
of
our
seawall
were
rated
good.
So
our
system
is
in
good
shape.
Don't
panic
it's
in
good
shape!
D
We
only
had
about
15
of
that
sea
wall
to
be
replaced,
and
that
was
replaced
in
this
year's
program,
so
we're
looking
pretty
good
all
right,
I'm
just
when
we
start
talking
budgets.
I
just
wanted
you
guys
to
be
aware
of
how
much
seawall
has
been
replaced,
how
much
of
the
original
sea
wall
is
still
in
place
and,
according
to
our
seawall
report,
they
said
that
those
sea
walls
had
a
life
span
of
30
39
to
51
years.
So
that
means
that
those
sea
walls
are
coming
to
the
end
of
their
life.
D
So
we
I
think
we
all
agreed
that
having
a
public
meeting
during
covet
was
literally
impossible.
There
is
a
huge
cost
associated
with
having
a
straw
vote,
sending
out
newsletters
posting
on
emails
that
takes
time
and
money
to
to
produce
something
like
that,
but
we
were
going.
We
were
supposed
to
present
the
budget
to
you
guys
today,
but
it
got
delayed
till
next
month's
meeting.
What
we're
going
to
do
is
we're
going
to
present
to
you
guys,
two
budgets,
one
budget
that
shows
no
increases
and
another
budget.
D
D
D
I
think
we
all
knew
it
was
coming.
You
know
what
I'm
saying
if,
if
you
think
that
your
community
doesn't
want
the
increase
or
whatever,
that
will
be
yours
to
decide
and
recommend
you
are
making
a
recommendation
of
the
budget
to
council
council
is
the
one
that
approves
it.
We
are
merely
making
a
recommendation.
D
And
what
we
discussed
when
we
presented
the
sea
wall
study
to
you
guys
is
that
we're
going
to
be
addressing
this
budget
every
year
every
year
we
can
increase
it,
we
can
decrease
it.
We
can
keep
it
the
same,
but
those
are
recommendations
that
will
be
going
to
council
and
that's
how
we're
going
to
proceed
forward.
A
D
A
D
A
But
you
know,
as
I
mentioned
before
on
this-
and
I
don't
want
to-
I
don't-
want
to
get
us
locked
into
this
thing,
saying
that
a
wall
is
going
to
last
from
from
39
to
51
years.
I
don't
think
is,
is
I
mean
that's
a
conservative
statement?
I
understand
that,
but
I
suspect
there
are
going
to
be
some
of
those
walls
that
in
70
years,
are
still
going
to
be
standing,
not
all
of
them
right,
but.
A
You
know
my
my
suggestion
recommendation
is
that
we
don't
prematurely
replace
walls,
we
only
replace
walls
at
the
time
they
need
to
be
replaced
and
that
sort
of
thing
but
but
but
that's
I
mean
that's
a
separate
issue,
I
think
so,
but.
J
For
the
record,
gary
disher,
of
course,
we've
got
showing
on
that
last
assessment.
We've
got
what
almo
over
17
000
feet
of
wall
that
have
some
sort
of
condition,
issues
already
yeah.
So
out
of
the
you
know,
out
of
that
79
years,
that
would
put
us
at
what
17
years
of
what
we
know
already
has
cracks
or
some
kind
of
condition
issue
so
but
cracks.
A
A
D
Okay,
it's
less
subjective,
it's
more
or
opinionated,
it's
more
factual,
so
I
feel
I
I'm
very
excited
about
getting
out
there
next
year
to
see
where
we're
at
with
the
sea
walls
with
this
new
data
and
this
new
software
that
we
have
good.
You
know-
and
these
figures
are
again
based
on
last
year's
data
and
software
they're
a
year
old.
Let's
not
forget
that
all
of
our
inspections
are
done
by
surface
damage.
We
don't
know
what's
going
on
underground,
you
know
what
I'm
saying
so
we
can
do
the
best
we
can
from
that.
A
A
So
bob
is
this
special
permit
cc
sp03
2021.
F
0
ccsp03
20
21.
This
is
an
application
from
thomas
and
cheryl
tomaszewski
who
live
at
449
macedonia
there.
The
request,
that's
before
you
is
to
install
a
floating
lift
between
their
existing
boat,
lift
and
the
sea
wall.
The
dimensions
of
the
of
the
proposed
floating
lift
are
five
feet
wide
by
14
feet
long.
F
This
application
is
brought
forward
because
our
city
code
does
require
a
property
to
have
85
feet
at
least
85
feet
of
seawall.
In
order
to
have
two
boat
lifts,
this
particular
property
has
78
feet
of
seawall,
so
it's
a
little
bit
short
in
terms
of
just
being
able
to
get
a
standard
building
permit
without
a
special
permit
approved.
F
First
staff
has
reviewed
the
the
six
criteria
found
in
chapter
six
section:
two
dash
one
c
subsection
one
and
believe
that
the
six
criteria
are,
or
this
request
is
in
line
with
those
six
criteria,
and
we
do
recommend
favorable
approval
of
the
of
the
request
and
I'd
be
happy
to
answer
any
questions.
You.
A
May
have
right,
even
though
I've
read
through
section
six
concerning
this
consideration
that
says,
you
know
that
having
a
second
boat
lift
is
outside
the
code.
I
mean.
Is
this
something
that
we've
done
in
the
past,
because
I
see
this
is
not
conforming.
F
This
has
been,
or
similar
situations
have
been
submitted
to
both
this
this
committee,
as
well
as
punta
gorda
isles
canal
advisory
committee.
Not
every
time,
but
probably
a
majority
of
the
requests
are
the
second
lift
are
for
something
smaller
than.
C
A
L
Good
afternoon
I'm
mike
parr
from
farmer
in
construction.
I
have
been
sworn,
I
think,
bob
pretty
much
covered
it.
We
were
trying
to
get
so
the
company
that
the
homeowner
is
buying
the
floating
dock
for
has
installed
quite
a
few
of
them,
but
don't
exactly
come
in
front
of
this
board.
I
just
show
up
and
stick
them
in
just
like
this
homeowner
wanted
to
do
it
legit.
So
I
told
them.
This
is
the
only
way
to
do
it
being
less
than
85
feet.
L
A
L
A
You
know
I've
I've
only
been
on
this
board
for
a
year
or
so
guys
and
I've
had
this
specific
question
asked
of
me
three
or
four
times
and
I've
always
referred
them
back
to
the
ordinance
section.
Six,
which
you
know
has
been
very
specific
on
these
things,
and
so
it
kind
of
it's
hard
for
me
to
to
say
how
can
we
go
against
what
the
ordinance
says,
or
I
mean
how
hard
is
it.
L
E
L
I
think
a
lot
of
that
gets
covered
in
this
special
exception
process.
Like
that's,
why
we
do
these
meetings
I
feel
like
so
that
you
can
go
over
these
special
case
exceptions
right
yeah
when
you,
when
it's
tucked
in
behind
a
lift
and
it's
no
harm,
no
foul.
I
don't
think
that's
ever
an
issue.
It's
when
you're
asking
for
something
that's
going
to
block
your
neighbor
or
gonna.
You
know.
E
A
C
L
F
Thank
you,
the
other,
the
other
again
bob
nicola,
for
the
record.
The
way
that
the
floating
lift
is
proposed.
It
would
be
between
the
sea
wall
and
the
existing
lift.
So
the
dimension
there,
whatever
it
is,
can't
be
wider
than
seven
feet,
because
that's
all
the
the.
C
F
F
F
So
we
do
have
a
formalized
process
to
allow
people
to
apply
for
something:
that's
not
otherwise
permitted
in
the
code,
just
with
a
standard
building
permit
and
again
when
I,
when
I
mention
the
six
criteria
that
that
are
under
consideration,
I've
got
those
up
on
the
overhead
as
well,
and
that's
you
know
the
the
first
one
in
harmony
with
the
general
intent
and
purpose
of
the
article
certainly
want
to
make
sure
that
whatever's
proposed
doesn't
create
a
code
violation
on
day
one
something
like
hanging
over
the
boat
limitation
line
or
or
that
would
not
be
injurious
to
the
waterway
involved.
F
As
you're
aware
in
burnt
storal,
specifically
for
properties
that
didn't
have
a
dock
prior
to
2000
august
of
2011,
they
are
required
to
store
a
boat
or
any
kind
of
vessel
above
the
water.
Yes,
on
a
lift,
so
that's
another
consideration.
It's
certainly
not
going
to
impede
safe
navigation.
It's
it's
not
out
in
the
navigable
channel,
it's
not
going
to
render
any
current
use,
aesthetic,
either
aesthetically
or
functionally
incompatible.
A
To
closing
so
all
right,
I've
called
the
first
time,
I'm
calling
the
second
time
for
any
further
comment,
and
I'm
calling
the
third
time
for
any
additional
comments.
J
A
F
Okay
for
for
leah's
benefit,
it
will
help
if.
I
To
approve,
as
presented.
A
F
This,
too,
is
an
application
for
permitting
of
a
second
boat.
Lift.
This
would
be
rather
than
a
floating
lift.
It
would
be
a
swing.
Lift
positioned
at
the
end
of
a
proposed
dock
would
be
able
to
lift
the
personal
watercraft
out
of
the
water
rotate
and
then
they're
designed
to
actually
store
the
the
water,
the
personal
watercraft
resting
on
the
dock
and
not
suspended
above
the
water.
F
F
F
Than
the
previous
application,
and
as
I
had
referenced,
the
section
of
the
code
that
requires
boat
lifts
to
be
constructed,
if
you
don't
have
a
dock
or
or
some
type
of
lift
behind
your
home
prior
to
2011.
Currently
the
canal
behind
their
house
is
a
blank
slate.
There
is
no
dock.
There
is
no
lift
so
for
their
particular
situation.
What's
being
proposed
this
plan
before
you,
they
don't
have
anything
there
so
that,
but
the
only
thing
for
your
consideration
is
the.
C
L
I
would
like
to
mike
barr
from
farmer
reconstruction.
I've
been
sworn
I'd
like
to
blame.
The
initial
survey
guy-
it's
probably
supposed
to
be
85
feet-
would
be
my
guess.
L
A
A
Everybody,
gays
and
everybody
all
approved,
not
against
so
it's
been
approved.
I
guess
we're
closed
with
special
permits
then.
Yes,
thank
you.
Thank
you.
D
Under
unfinished
business,
I
just
wanted
to
let
the
board
know
that
we
are
still
in
permitting
for
the
mayor
cut
pilings.
The
permit
is
currently
in
army
corps
of
engineers.
They
have
sent
back
an
rai,
which
is
a
request
for
additional
information.
D
D
Mr
disher
is
one
who's
working
primarily
with
them
as
soon
as
we
get
the
okay
to
we
get
the
permit
to
put
them
in
then
I'll.
Let
the
contractor
go
okay,.
A
A
J
A
J
Don't
know
if
that
starts
our
clock
again,
but
we'll
we'll
see
how
long
it
takes
to
get
the
exemption
out
of
it.
J
You've
got
a,
I
guess:
yeah
we
got
staff
comments
and
then
committee
board
comments
and
then
citizen
comments,
yeah,
okay,.
D
A
H
Good
afternoon
for
rick
rick,
rick
keaney
for
the
record
I'll
clarify
a
little
bit
and
kathy
will
follow
up.
Our
policy
reads
that
you
wear
your
mask
in
the
building
and
then
when
you
come
in
and
you're
able
to
maintain
a
six
foot
separation,
then
you
may
remove
your
mask.
You're
correct
city
council
removes
their
mask,
they
wear
them
in
they
get
their
six
foot
distance,
they
remove
their
mask
and
then
once
they
get
up
to
leave,
then
you
put
your
mask
on
staff
has
been
to
the
microphone
like.
H
I
am
so
you
can
hear
me,
take
our
mask
off
so,
but
once
you
leave,
you
know
you
put
it
back
on,
but
I'll
have
kathy
make
sure
we
get
you
the
policy,
but
that's
that's.
Basically
it
terrific.
D
C
G
D
G
Hello,
my
name
is
frank
drejos
I
live
at
3721,
candida
drive,
we
bought
our
house
in
september
and
we're
on
the
rim
canal,
and
I
had
one
question:
maybe
one
of
these
other
gentlemen
can
help
out
too.
We
had
heard
about
the
widening
of
the
the
old
lock
and
it's
just
a
question:
do
you?
We
have
an
idea
when
that
project
may
start.
I
mean
get
beyond
the
the
planning
and
actually
start
moving
some
dirt
and
things.
J
That's
a
great
question:
we
submitted
that
application
and
or
through
the
consultant
back
in
2019
and
we're
still
in
permitting.
So
I
wish
I
could
give
you
an
answer,
but
it's
we're
just
in
the
hands
of
permitting
and
that
that
just
takes
a
long
long
time.
I.
G
J
Like
I
said
we
were
told
in
january,
we
were
two
to
three
weeks
out
from
receiving
the
permit,
but
then
here
it
is,
you
know
late
in
the
game
we're
already
in
may,
but
at
the
end
of
april
we
receive
a
single
question
rai
out
of
the
blue.
So
it's
like
okay,
I
thought
we
were
ready
to
go
and
I
think
it
may
have
made
it
to
the
next
level
of
review
down
in
the
fort
myers
army
corps
office,
and
that's
may
of
what
triggered
that
that
one
question
rai.
It
was
a
minor
item.
J
G
A
J
Have
to
look,
we
have
it
on
the
cip
list,
but
yeah
I'm
not
sure
how
they
want
to
fund
it.
If
we,
if
we,
if
it's
a
multi-year
project,
if
we're
going
to
build
funds
for
a
couple
of
years
to
then
go
out
on
the
street
to
do
it,
I'm
not
sure
exactly
how
off
the
top
my
head,
how
that
cip
was
set
up?
Okay,.
G
It's
about
the
mangroves-
and
I
I
I
heard
this
lady
speaking
about
the
mangroves
in
the
mangroves
trimming.
I
have
a
mangrove
on
the
back
of
my
property
on
my
side
of
the
of
the
canal,
like
I
said
I'm
on
the
rim
canal,
and
I
got
one
next
to
my
mangrove
growing
next
to
my
boat
dock,
and
I
was
just
I
want
to
do
the
right
thing
about
trimming
it
can.
I
is
there
a
special
thing.
G
D
D
D
M
D
D
G
N
Hi
bob
fritz
macedonia
just
a
couple
of
things,
one
for
gary
gary.
I
know
you've
been
talking
about
riprap
at
the
base
of
sea
walls
and
getting
permitted
for
that.
Just
please
bear
in
mind
that,
especially
on
the
bernstein
oils
per
perimeter
canal,
we
have
eleverts
for
the
most
part,
riprap
is
not
going
to
work
when
you
have
eleverts,
so
you
know
just
if
you're
calculating
riprap
or
getting
permits
for
things.
Please
take
that
into
account
for
sure
and
kathy
mangrove
trimming.
Time
again,
I.
N
The
they
did
a
real
good
job
last
year.
N
Oh
that's
good
yeah,
my
problem
with
them
is:
they
seem
to
like
to
go
to
the
widest
part
of
the
perimeter
canal,
which
is
by
say
a
massimo
there
with
a
couple
hundred
feet
wide
sit
there
and
trim
the
mangroves
there
and
with
the
new
ordinance
and
the
center
line
of
the
perimeter
canal
and
20
feet
on
each
side,
very
critical
that
they
cut
as
much
as
they
possibly
can
legally
and
not
leave
anything
because
it's
it's
tough
for
people
now
who
own
lots
without
houses.
N
They
can't
even
put
a
dock
in
people
who
own
houses
with
docks.
They
can't
put
boat
lifts
in
because
of
the
width,
and
I
really
think
that's
a
mistake
on
the
part
of
the
council
by
approving
that,
because
the
perimeter,
the
rim
canal
around
pgi,
is
typically
at
probably
averages
110
feet
wide
across
the
whole
perimeter.
N
The
narrowest
part
is
down
by
elmar
and
some
of
the
little
roads
where
the
new
cut
is
our
canal,
we're
lucky
most
of
it
is
between
40
and
60
feet
wide
and
you
can't
get
a
40
foot
right
away
and
have
a
dock
or
a
boat
lift
in
in
that
area.
So
I
I
really
think
a
mistake
was
made
in
that
and
it
should
be
re
relooked
at
and
the
problem
is
not
the
eleverts.
The
problem
is
not
the
docks.
N
In
my
case
I
had
I
bought
that
lot
in
1987..
If
they
had
come
and
said
I
couldn't
put
a
boat
lift
in
or
I
couldn't
even
put
a
dock
in
after
paying
taxes
on
it
for
50
years.
I'd
I'd
be
really
mad,
so
you
know
something
something
really
should
be
done
to
clarify.
We
are
not
the
pgi
rim
canal,
we
are
the
bsi
perimeter
canal,
a
lot
narrower.
Thank
you
guys.
O
My
name
is
sean
howard,
698,
monaco
drive.
I
have
two
questions.
One
is
probably
more
for
staff
the
you
know,
historically
with
the
seawall
assessments
before
I'm
a
homebuilder
here
in
town
before
we
would
start
a
new
house
on
a
vacant
lot
or
demoed
a
house
and
start
a
new
house
and
in
the
old
days
I
used
to
call
gary
and
we'd
go
out
there
and
take
a
look
and
to
see
what
was
questionable.
You
guys
would
bump
it
up
because
it'd
be
easier
for
you
and
I
assume
less
costly
to
replace
it.
O
D
D
Shape
we're
gonna,
you
know
and
essentially
we're
gonna
wait
until
after
your
construction
is
completed
and
what
I
typically
do
is
I
let
the
building
department
and
code
compliance
know,
and
I
let
them
know
that
hey
we're
gonna
replace
the
seawall
they're
building
a
home
on
this
property.
Can
we
wait
to
put
in
the
they'll,
give
you
a
temporary
co
to
put
in
the
irrigation,
the
landscaping
and
all
that
other
stuff,
the
sidewalks
okay.
O
So
yeah
I
might
need
to
purchase
any
I
meant
if
it
actually
was.
If
it
was
on
the.
If
it's
coming
up
soon
on
the
list,
it
would
be
makes
sense
to
jump
in
on
it
sooner.
Basically,
then,.
C
O
Okay,
all
right,
that's
just
what
I
was
curious
about,
because
again
we
used
to
have
a
great
system
working
out
where
we
could,
you
know,
get
it
taken.
Care
of
was
easier
for
everybody.
My
second
thing
is
I'm,
and
this
is
main
reason
why
I
came
in
today-
I'm
kind
of
curious
of
the
mayor's
cut.
Why
are
we?
Why
are
we
getting
permits
to
put
more
pilings
there?
Why
aren't
we
working
on
trying
to
open
it.
D
Because
it
is
a
permit
requirement
from
when
we
took
the
doors
off
the
lock
dep
required
us
to
put
the
pilings
in
there
used
to
be
a
rock
ledge
there,
preventing
boaters
from
using
that
access
point.
So
we
took
the
rip
rap
out
and
we
put
the
pilings
in.
It
was
a
lot
safer
that
way
over
the
years
people
just
keep
cutting
back
those
mangroves
and
getting
around
the
pilings.
O
My
understanding
was
historically,
and
it's
been
a
few
years
since
I've
discussed
this
with
anybody-
that
the
state
was
kind
of
that
they
would
probably
be
amenable
to
opening
it
up
at
the
time
they
were
looking
to
have
the
barge
canal
filled,
in
which
I
know
we
did
that
for
buckley's
past
I
mean.
Is
this
something
that
the
city
or
the
council
or
the
the
committee
here
can
start
looking
at,
is
the
possibility
of
reopening
it.
D
And
and
dep
still
requires
us
to
maintain
that
closed.
As
a
matter
of
fact,
it's
our
responsibility
to
make
sure
that
that
we
add
the
pilings
and
we
keep
it
closed.
Okay,
so
no
it
if
a
piling
falls
or
whatever
we
have
to
go
back
out
there
and
put
it
back
up.
O
If
the,
if
the
committee
here
decided
to
start
working
on
it
again,
it
was
something
that
the
city
would
support.
Looking
into.
D
O
D
Yeah
yeah,
we
did
have
a
meeting
in
april
so.
