Historic Preservation Advisory Board 11-17-2022
A
A
A
Thank
you
calling
now
for
any
citizen
comments
on
agenda
items,
not
including
public
hearings
or
anything
since
we
don't
have
anyone
in
the
audience
not
to
skip
that
approval
of
minutes
as
everyone
on
the
had
a
chance
to
review
the
minutes
for
the
last
meeting,
any
comments
or
Corrections.
C
E
A
C
F
All
right
good
morning,
Beaumont
hander
Urban
Design.
This
one
will
be
to
intense.
We
have
three
certificates
of
appropriateness.
These
are
all
information
only
we
expect
probably
more
to
come
as
things
start
to
unfold.
So
I'll
start
with
the
ca342022
410
Gill
Street.
This
is
information.
Only
it's
a
fence
staff
approved
the
ca
application.
F
They
meet
all
requirements
of
code
and
the
type
of
fence
they're
going
to
use
is
appropriate
in
keeping
with
the
area.
Let's
see
here,
the
second
one
is
CA
372022
and
that's
426
Harvey
Street.
This
was
a
information,
only
roof
they're,
replacing
the
current
roof
with
asphalt.
Shingle
like
sane
again,
this
is
appropriate
for
the
area,
so
staff
approved
that
one
and
then
we
have
CA
38
2022,
it's
415
West,
Marion
Avenue.
This
is
information
only
and
this
is
going
to
be
Windows.
F
B
All
right
so,
since
the
historic
preservation
chair
is
always
going
to
be
the
chair
for
donation
review,
I
guess
we
just
have
to
ratify
that
through
you
guys.
So
if
we
can
make
a
motion
to
do
so
to
ratify
that
he's,
chair
of
the
donation
review
I
would
ask
that
you
do
that.
C
B
Okay
and
then,
since
he
was
the
one
that
was
appointed
as
an
extra
member
for
donation
review
and
now
he
is
chair,
we
will
need
to
replace
his
position.
So
does
someone
want
to
nominate
someone
or
or
are
they
interested
in
being
in
that
position
on
the
donation
review?
So
just.
A
B
They
meet
quarterly,
it's
always
after
the
meeting
of
hpab,
so
we
haven't,
they
haven't
met
this
year.
Yet
it
is
very,
you
know
it's
not
something
that
happens
all
the
time,
but
when
it
does
it.
A
I
had
a
little
experience
with
this
in
a
previous
life
in
Dayton,
and
not
all
donations
made
much
were
appropriate.
Let's
just
put
it
that
way,
and
one
was
a
house
that
had
been
condemned
and
it
was
historic
and
it
had
been
condemned,
but
if
they
donated
it,
they
wanted
a
big
tax
write-off
and
it
was
just
a
inappropriate
and
so
the
Review
Committee
there
we
got
into
it
and
and
researched
it
us
did
our
staff
and
we
did
not
take
the
gift.
C
A
Here's
something
I
would
that's
a
little
different
if
anybody
objects
it
to
it.
Let
me
know,
but
since
we
have
several
members-
and
this
is
our
been
a
while
since
we've
met,
may
we
start
over
here
in
this
Perry
and
just
in
one
minute
tell
a
little
bit
about
how
long
you've
been
here
in
town,
what
your
background
is
or
anything
that
you
feel
might
help
your
fellow
members
of
the
Advisory
Board
understand
where
you're
coming
from
I've.
C
Been
in
Punta
Gorda
for
approximately
five
five
years
prior
to
that,
I
lived
in
Naples
for
30
years,
I'm
a
real
estate
developer
throughout
the
United
States
Puerto
Rico
and
Central
America
University
of
Florida
undergrad
MBA
MPA.
It
was
a
history
major
as
a
undergraduate
student,
three
kids,
one
who
just
graduated
law
school
youngest,
is
in
his
first
year
of
law
school
and
my
daughter
is
the
business
development
manager
at
the
Naples
Zoo.
E
G
E
And
I
have
an
interest:
I
I
have
a
real
interest
in
the
environment,
in
the
preservation
of
the
environment
and
I'm.
Also,
we
moved
here
because
we
loved
the
feel
and
what
happens
in
this
town.
A
G
You
hi
I'm
Casey
nemec
i2m
new.
This
is
my
first
meeting
I
own
a
Visual
and
Performing
Arts
Studio
right
across
the
bridge
in
Deep
Creek
called
Studio
Seven
I've,
been
here
for
20
years,
born
and
raised
in
Grand
Rapids
Michigan
I
came
down
here
to
go
to
Florida
Gulf
Coast,
University
and
I
have
two
boys
Brixton
and
Hudson.
One
is
eleven,
one
is
13.,
they
were
born
and
raised
here
and
I
also
have
my
master's
degree
in
history
from
University
of
Massachusetts,
wonderful.
G
A
And
I'm
Bradford
Gamblin
born
and
raised
St
Louis
Missouri
lived
in
Clearwater
for
about
10
years,
moved
up
north
through
Dayton
Ohio,
to
worked
with
my
older
brother,
who
was
an
inventor
had
a
doctorates
in
physics,
from
Princeton
and
all
kinds
of
things,
and
eventually
got
30
cents
on
the
dollar
back
and
the
opportunity
to
do
other
things,
and
eventually
we
moved
that
comment
usually
brings
an
understanding.
A
A
Ohio
I
have
a
background
well,
prior
to
that
even
I
have
a
background
in
banking
and
finance
been
a
financial
advisor
with
major
Securities
firms
in
moderately
successful,
but
not
overwhelmingly
in
the
fact
that
I
just
could
not
bring
myself
sometimes
to
do
the
deal
of
the
day
that
was
put
on
my
desk
and
but
no
no
offense
to
The
Brokerage
industry
and
then
also
ended
up
I'm
a
Mason
and
a
Shriner
and
a
job
opening
came
with
the
Masons
of
Dayton
Ohio.
A
So
that
meant
air
conditioning
and
restoration
of
the
paintings
and
kinds
of
things
had
seven
auditoriums,
seven
pipe
organs,
just
huge
so
set
out
to
accomplish
this
found
some
Masons
started
and
what
we
ended
up
with
I
had
to
learn
a
lot
about
history,
the
history
of
how
you
become
a
designated
National,
Historic
Landmark
in
the
group
around
grouping
around
it
and
eventually
I
raised
with
all
the
help
I
could
get
close
to
10
million
dollars
and
since
I've
left
they've
raised
another
eight
million
dollars
of
air
conditioned
reheated
restored
re-roofed
the
building,
but
in
the
meantime,
I
was
able
to
get
a
pretty
thorough
understanding
of
what's
involved
with
historic
preservation.
A
It's
also
started
a
foundation
for
the
thirty
thousand
square
foot,
Antioch
Shrine
trainers,
building
in
Downtown
Dayton
and
had
it
designated
the
National
Historic
Landmark
and
formed
a
foundation
for
it
as
well,
which
allows
people
to
give
to
an
organization
that
has
an
endowment
to
repair
the
building
subject,
building
over
long
term,
and
that
is
working
for
them
when
others
are
closing
and
by
the
way.
A
A
H
H
Lived
in
Fort,
Lauderdale,
Sarasota
and
here
but
I've
been
here
for
the
last
12
years.
I
raised
three
children
in
Sarasota.
I
am
an
avogeneologist
and
history
buff,
who
does
serious
genealogy
research
for
myself
and
others,
and
that's
how
I
got
interested
in
the
history.
A
D
Lucille
Ponte
I
grew
up
in
the
Boston
area
in
a
small
town,
which
is
one
of
the
things
that
attracted
me
to
Punta
Gorda
was
that
small
town
feel
that
you
don't
have
too
often
my
husband
and
I
have
been
in
Florida
since
2004
in
Orlando
in
Jacksonville,
and
now
is
we're
nearing
retirement.
We
wanted
to
find
a
nice
beautiful,
waterslide
Community.
We
were
lucky
to
come
upon,
Punta
Gorda.
My
background
is
I'm
an
attorney.
Actually
in
Massachusetts
I
went
to
UMass
as
well.
It
takes
a
probably
different
time.
D
I
went
to
UMass,
I
was
a
political
science
major
and
my
law
degree
is
from
the
New
England
school
of
law,
but
I
spent
some
time
in
corporate
law
and
then
went
on
to
legal
education
for
over
30
years,
which
I
found
the
most
rewarding
for
me
and
I.
Think
it's
my
interest
in
it.
Education
and
also
it's
my
interest
in
history,
and
we
learn
a
lot
in
the
law
about
the
history
of
our
country
and
the
history
of
our
our
laws
evolve.
D
So
I've
always
been
interested
in
the
historical
sides
of
things,
because
it's
an
important
part
of
what's
built
our
country,
so
I
was
very
interested
in
enjoying
this
board
and
I
found
it
to
be
a
very
really
collegial
nice
group
of
people.
So
that's
been
a
good
experience,
but
we've
been
in
Punta
Gorda
only
since
2020
just
in
time
for
covid,
so
the
first
couple
of
years
were
a
little
crazy,
but
it
seems
things
even
with
Ian
they're
settling
down
a
bit,
so
we're
really
getting
to
enjoy
living
here.
A
Welcome.
Thank
you.
Thank
you
all
any
other
comments
from
anybody.
We
kind
of
run
through
with
that,
but
from
our
any
comments
from
the
staff,
no
you're
not
going
to.
Let
me
off.
