Description
C
Afternoon
my
name
is
Ben.
Tell
affero
land
I
live
on
de
Ville
derive
I'm,
not
in
the
bird
section,
but
I've
been
coming
here
since
before
there
was
a
bird
section,
the
canals
were
in,
but
there
was
like
maybe
three
homes.
I
want
to
ask
you
to
look
at
one
of
the
presentations
and
correct
the
record
if
I'm
right
that
the
design
of
this
was
to
have
no
sharper
than
90
degree
terms.
I
would
ask
you
to
take
a
look
at
the
southwest
turn
coming
out
into
our
River.
C
D
D
Very
much
in
favor
of
what
the
first
speaker
suggested
that
the
cost
be
spread
among
the
entire
canal.
I
spoke
with
each
of
you
during
the
past
seven
days
and
unfortunately,
a
couple
of
you
suggested
that
they
could
not
change
the
funding
or
the
methodology
of
the
funding.
I
suggested
to
each
of
you
that
I
thought
the
general
canal
would
benefit
from
the
extra
cut
and
the
traffic
on
Ponce
de
Leon,
notwithstanding
I
was
told
by
a
couple
of
you
that
you
did
not
think
that
the
funding
methodology
could
be
changed.
D
I
suggested
to
you
that
the
reason
that
methodology
curtain
here
was
that
you
retained
lawyers
and
accountants
and
economists
to
justify
the
beneficial
interest
of
the
property
owners,
not
the
other
way
around
and
that
they
were
the
principal
benefit,
been
affected.
Beneficiaries
of
this
work
and
I
suggested
to
you.
That
was
not
so
that
the
canal
in
general
was
the
beneficiary
and
that
the
canal
in
general
should
pay
for
it
and
I
certain
and
I.
D
F
F
G
My
name
is
John
Diehl
live
in
Rock
condominiums,
which
is
in
the
bird
section,
received
the
letter
that
you
sent
out
a
month
or
so
ago,
and
my
personally
actually,
the
letter
was
like
this
is
crazy.
I've,
my
father-in-law
bought
the
condominium
there
forty
years
ago,
nineteen
eighty
twenty
four
units
in
that
condominium
over
that
time.
If
there
been
six
boats
at
that
condominium,
there
would
be
a
crowd
of
boats.
G
Maybe
a
couple
of
moments
so
I'm
looking
at
$24,000
for
this
a
condominium,
that's
been
there
forever
people
could
buy,
buy
there
because
they
were
boaters
or
not.
Voters
for
what
you
know,
whatever
the
reason
was,
but
simply
the
idea
that
this
twenty-four
unit
condominium
is
going
to
pay
twenty
four
thousand
for
a
couple
of
people
to
have
boats
for
their
use.
It
just
seemed
nonsensical
and
all
day
long
I've
been
listening
to
this,
and
the
gentleman
just
before
me
brought
up
the
issue.
G
That's
been
on
my
mind,
I,
don't
know
where
this
justification
that
you
paid
a
consultant
for
to
come
up
with
this
funding
scheme
came
from.
I
mean
how
much
is
that?
How
much
public
disclosure
has
gone
into
that
I
feel
like
you're
tied
to
something
you
paid
for
you
paid
experts
to
give
you
an
opinion
on
how
to
do
this,
and
the
problem
is
as
you're
hearing
today.
It
lacks
common
sense.
You
pay
for
something
that
just
is
nonsensical
and
now
you're
stuck
with
it
and
I
think
you
need
to
go
back
and
ask
yourself.
G
How
did
you
get
to
this
point?
The
other
thing
I
keep
hearing
is
that
it's
tied
to
the
benefit
area.
Well,
that's
a
that's
a
very
subjective
term.
What
is
the
benefit
area?
Somebody
decided
a
certain
part
of
this
community.
What's
the
benefit
area
and
what
you're
hearing
today
is
the
benefits
extend
outside
of
what
you're
calling
the
benefit
area,
so
you
need
to
rethink
that
term.
What
is
the
benefit
area?
G
B
H
Good
afternoon
my
name
is
Connie:
Kendall
I
live
in
Venetian
Isles,
that's
on
white
ibis
court,
there's
a
little
confusion
for
condo
owners
and
I
apologize
asking
this
question.
If
it's
on
your
website
in
this
information,
but
it's
a
little
harder
I
think
for
us
to
understand
the
equation
when
the
dock
and
the
seawall
is
a
shared
asset.
H
But
I
received
my
assessment
as
a
unit
owner
and
so
if
I
could
either
find
out
where
I
can
find
more
information
on
the
equation
used
and
then
maybe,
if,
if
you
do
rework
the
assessments,
can
it
be
a
little
clearer
how
condo
association
members
fit
into
that
equation?
We'd
appreciate
it.
Thank
you.
Thank
you
good
afternoon.
B
I
Afternoon
my
name
is
Tom
Frieden,
a
blessin
owner
in
front
of
Gorter
for
20
years
and
I've
heard
about
this
project
for
almost
20
years.
The
first
thing
I
would
like
to
do
is
echo
the
gentleman's
notion
that
whatever
you
do
today
either
pass
it
or
don't
pass
it.
Don't
live
a
cake
and
I
hope
you
pass
it
I
support
it
very
much.
I
don't
live.
You
know,
I
live
where
I
can
go
out
Potts.
It
is
a
problem
at
times.
I
Second,
to
that,
if
that's
not
possible
or
it
doesn't
seem
to
be
possible
because
it's
never
made
the
percent
sales
tax
increase,
which
I
voted
for
several
times.
I
stand
for
the
gentleman
that
spoke
first,
that
it
should
be
people
who
have
sea
walls
and
I.
Think
perhaps
if
some
more
clarity
could
be
added
by
saying
everybody
that
goes
out
Pantanal
south
of
the
dividing
street,
where
the
big
boats
can't
go.
I
J
J
Name
is
Angelo
Mosca,
lino
I'm
at
57,
40
Alomar,
which
I
consider
the
foot
of
al
ahmar.
People
were
talking
about
safety
from
my
dock
to
the
marker
or
my
lift
of
the
markers,
probably
less
than
60
foot
right
now,
everybody's
talking
about
safety,
and
we
talked
about
these
boat
side
or
25
foot
why
the
catamaran
has
got
to
be
30
foot
wide,
I,
don't
know
if
you
looked
at
that,
but
that's
one
thing
I
look
at.
J
It
is
a
very
narrow
area
through
that
1/4
mile
stretch
from
the
cut-out
to
the
bay
area
you
have
out
there,
and
the
second
thing
I'd
like
to
say
is
that
everybody
benefits
only
the
saying
that
only
the
benefit
area
should
pay.
If
you
have
a
boat
and
you're
going
south
or
north
to
south,
when
you're
coming
back
south,
it's
hard
for
me
to
believe
that
people
outside
the
benefit
area
will
never
go
through
that
cut
the
new
butling
pass.
J
K
Afternoon,
good
afternoon,
I'm
Peter
Keating
a
16
year
resident
bubble
in
court
under
Gore
dials
I've,
taken
this
time
to
listen
to
everyone,
because
I
think
it's
important
to
listen
to
all
different
sides
and
I
think
there
are
a
couple
of
issues
here
that
are
very
important
when
the
inequity
of
the
assessment
is
clear.
It's
something
that
has
to
be
reevaluated.
I
agree
with
a
few
of
the
people
here
who
have
mentioned
that
the
canal
maintenance
assessment
extension
would
be
a
very
good
thing
to
do.
K
I
also
very
firmly
agree
in
the
support
of
the
buckling
past
because
of
environmental
and
safety
reasons.
I'm
and
I'm.
The
US
Coast
Guard
Merchant
Marine
captain
so
I've
seen
this
over
the
16
years
or
going
in
and
out
with
my
boat
I,
also
think
that
one
of
the
things
that
haven't
been
mentioned
here,
because
too
many
it's
a
very
self-serving
thing
and
I
I
look
at
it
from
a
point
of
the
the
business
ethic
in
the
community
as
well,
not
only
the
property
values
but
also
from
the
business
point
of
view.
K
I
mean
I
lived,
probably
as
far
away
from
the
Ponce
de
Leon
exit
as
most
people
in
in
the
bird
section
and
I
on
a
number
of
occasions,
I've
seen
real
estate
people
in
my
canal
and
boats,
private
fishing
charters
in
my
canal
doing
fishing
people
doing
tours.
So
even
during
Christmastime
I
mean
that's
a
pay
thing,
so
it's
a
business
end
of
it.
We
are
a
community.
The
canals
are
an
asset
to
our
community
and
I.
Think
there,
certainly
from
an
assessment
point
of
view.
K
Maybe
we
should
look
at
the
extension
with
regard
to
adding
on
for
the
number
of
years
that
we
could
do
that
to
make
it
a
little
bit
more
equitable,
especially
for
those
people
who
are
a
few
feet
over
the
85
feet
and
are
paying
for
two
water
access
units.
I
mean
people
who
don't
have
boats.
There
really
has
to
be
a
way
to
make
it
a
little
bit
more
equitable
for
everyone
and
and
certainly
I
hope
you
make
that
decision.
With
regard
to
the
assessment
procedure.
Thank
you.
Thank.
L
Afternoon
my
name
is
Mark
kovarsky
I
live
on
Tropicana
Drive,
so
I
have
direct
access
out
to
the
harbor.
There
are
times
in
our
lives
when
people
of
character
need
to
stand
up
and
be
counted,
they
need
to
do
the
right
thing
and
be
courageous,
even
in
the
face
of
a
vocal
minority.
This
is
one
of
those
times.
Buckley's
pass
is
the
right
thing
to
do
for
Punta
Gorda.
L
This
time
also
I
understand
that
you
have
to
draw
a
line
someplace,
but
there's
always
going
to
be
people
who
are
a
little
bit
closer
to
that
line
than
others,
and
those
people
might
prefer
to
have
that
just
a
little
bit
different,
and
that
would
be
the
case
no
matter
where
you
drew
the
line.
The
fact
is
that
the
properties
being
assessed
are
the
ones
that
will
benefit
these
properties
will
increase
in
value
many
times
the
amount
of
the
assessment,
whether
the
owner
has
a
boat
or
not.
You
are
doing
the
right
thing.
L
M
A
My
name
is
casey
trappin
Berg
I
live
in
spinnaker
Point
condominiums
on
Bell
Harbor,
Boulevard
condominiums,
don't
make
out
very
well
in
this
process.
We
live
on.
Spinnaker
point
is
built
on
17
parcels
sticking
out
into
the
water,
and
the
number
of
units
is
70,
so
you're
going
to
hit
us
up
470
water
access
units
on
17,
Lots,
that's
unfair,
again.
A
N
Krasny
I
lived,
1355,
Jacana
court
way
back
in
the
bird
section
and
I
just
have
a
few
commas
one.
We
heard
about
20
Corte
Isles
when
we
were
at
our
marina
in
far
northern
Illinois
and
we're
told
this
is
a
wonderful
place
to
live.
You
have
canals,
you
could
put
your
boat
behind
your
house
or
you
may
not
need
a
boat.
N
You
could
look
at
the
water
and
there's
direct
access
to
Charlotte,
Harbor
and
supposed
to
Lake
Michigan,
and
that
is
a
big
advantage
and
I
have
to
tell
you
in
the
19
years
we've
lived
here.
It
has
been
wonderful.
Our
canal
system
is
a
tremendous
asset
and
we
should
all
be
proud
of
it.
I
also
improve
our
community
and
what
bothers
me
most
is
drawing
a
line
through
the
community
I've
communicated
with
many
of
you
through
emails
to
the
point
that
I'm
sure
I'm
disgusting.
N
However,
I
have
to
say
that
drawing
a
line
anywhere
is
not
good.
I
brought
up
to
believe
that
and
I
believe
that
here
I
also
see
some
changes
in
our
area.
From
the
time
the
benefit
studies
were
taken.
What
I
see
now
is
the
empty
lots
that
were
all
around
us
in
the
bird
section.
No
longer
exists
also
they
were
purchased
for
what
I
think
are
unbelievable
amounts
of
money
and
the
homes
going
up
are
beautiful.
These
people
are
from
New
Hampshire
Rhode
Island
upper
New
York
State.
N
Not
only
is
the
economy
robust,
but
people
want
to
get
way
away
from
their
horrible
weather
and
they
don't
know
about
Buckley's
past
they
want
to
be
here.
Our
weather
is
great,
the
layouts
great
it's
a
beautiful
and
that's
why
people
are
coming.
I
doubt
right
now,
because
of
other
factors
that
Buckley's
pass
is
going
to
significantly
affect
what
my
house
or
lot
would
sell
for,
if
I
even
wanted
to
sell
it.
So
I
think
that
was
something
I
felt
I
had
to
say.
Thank
you
very
much.
Thank
you.
E
That's
not
currently
in
the
interlocal
agreement,
because
there's
only
a
very
small
number
of
lots
that
are
included,
and
that
would
expand
significantly.
If
you
look
at
anybody
who
is
indirectly
benefited
or
who
does
not
benefit,
we
did
purchase
our
lot
with
the
fact
that
we
were
only
a
few
minutes
from
Ponce
Inlet.
So
in
all
honesty,
Buckley's
pass
is
really
not
going
to
affect
us
or
many
of
the
other
Lots
north
of
aqui,
esta
and
north
of
Marion,
particularly
so.
E
O
Name
is
Dave
Leonard
I
live
at
1504
Oriole
Court
in
Punta,
Gorda
Isles
I'm
here
today
to
say
that
I
disagree
with
the
way
that
you
want
to
fund
this
project,
I
think
the
projects,
fine
and
so
throughout
this
process,
reading
it
in
the
paper
and
so
on
and
so
forth.
You
know
it's
following
it:
how
much
this
is
gonna
cost
us
I
saw
$500
for
water
access
unit
and
then,
when
I
finally
got
the
bill.
You
know
it's
nine
hundred
and
some-odd
bucks
of
water
access
unit.
O
We
have
to
I
thought
wow,
that's
outrageous
and
how
come
just
a
few
people
are
paying
for
this.
So
I
get
a
letter.
Once
a
week
from
my
Councilwoman,
it's
called
Punta
Gorda
City
highlights
it's
by
Lynn
Matthews
who
speaks
to
how
I
feel
so
she
has
a
little
question-and-answer
section
in
this
letter
and
this
person
asked
this
question
said:
I
have
recently
read
several
post
on
social
media
regarding
the
canal,
maintenance
assessment
program
and
I'm
wondering
why
it
is
not
collected
on
a
linear
foot
basis
rather
than
per
property.
Can
you
please
explain?
O
Oh
yes,
yes,
Lynn,
says
I'm
happy
to
explain
everyone
in
PGI
and
BSI
systems,
Charlotte,
Harbor
and
other
waterways.
Beyond
the
canal.
Maintenance
fund
includes
much
more
than
sea
walls.
It
pays
for
the
cost
of
dredging,
canals
access,
channels,
channel
markers
and
other
signage
mangrove
trimming,
personnel
equipment
and
all-weather
ongoing
maintenance
expenses.
The
city
of
Punta
Gorda,
is
the
only
city
in
the
United
States
that
owns
and
maintains
their
sea
walls.
Second,
only
to
the
US
Navy
property
owners
do
not
own
the
sea
walls.
O
P
I
did
sign.
My
name
is
Bob
Toth
I'm,
president
of
Seminole,
Lakes
property
owners,
association,
I,
think
the
City
Council
and
the
staff.
The
engineering
companies
have
done
everything
correct
I'm
in
favor
of
a
special
assessment
for
those
properties
that
benefit
we
would
not
benefit
in
Seminole
Lakes,
so
please
vote
and
get
on
with
this
project.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
Hi.
Q
My
name
is
Ron
coca,
shanxi
I,
live
on
seif
and
drive
for
the
last
20
years.
I
don't
have
a
problem
either
away
how
it's
going
to
be
paid
for,
but
I
do
agree
with
the
First
Gentleman
Don,
because
all
we're
doing
bite
we're
breaking
up
our
community
as
as
far
as
I'm
concerned,
because
if
they
were
only
have
certain
people
pay
for
this,
what's
going
to
happen
with
the
next
project,
you
know,
if
you
start
and
one
passes,
then
it
could
happen
to
every
other
project
after
that.

I
will
keep
this
short.
My
name
is
Madeline
Wilson
I
live
at
1355
grebe
in
the
bird
section.
I
am
in
favor
of
Don
Sabatini's
presentation.
I
think
it
is
a
very
good
compromise
and
fair
and
equitable
to
everyone.
As
his
presentation
stated,
it
benefits
everyone
on
a
number
of
levels.
Thank
you.
