A
We
should
change
any
of
the
sign
sizes
of
the
signs
once
you
start
doing
that,
and
you
start
getting
all
of
these
big
signs
than
those
properties
that
our
residential
are
going
to
kind
of
disappear,
because
they're
going
to
have
just
the
small
signs
and
people
are
not
even
going
to
see
those
I,
don't
see
any
reason.
We're
very
much
aware
there
are
small
signs
on
any
properties
that
are
for
sale
in
our
area.
People
see
those
I
mean
you,
you
drive
down
the
seat,
Jonah
drive
down
the
street
and
you
see
the
small
signs.
A
C
I
agree
those
little
signs,
we
program
our
brains,
to
look
at
things.
We
know
that
that's
what's
in
our
community,
so
that's
what
we
look
at
I,
don't
have
a
problem
looking
at
things
on
an
individual
basis,
but
I
would
like
to
hear
from
the
special
residential
districts
to
see
how
they
feel
I
mean
they
live
there.
I
would.
D
Agree,
I
think
they're
in
some
cases
where
there
are
multifamily
do
as
I
know
in
bryn
store
aisles,
I
thought
about
this
and
thinking
gee.
If
I'd
want
to
see
big
signs
like
that,
you
know
great
big
signs
along
the
street
so
asking
this
buzz.
The
burnt
store,
aisles
and
PGI
CA
for
their
input
is
a
good
thing.
E
E
Our
federal
courts
in
this
district
have
some
very
unusual
ideas
with
respect
to
signs
and
how
you
cannot
regulate
signs
on
the
basis
of
content
and
in
the
past,
where
we've
made
some
accommodations
for
the
real
estate
industry.
With
respect
to
signage,
we
have
made
as
a
special
finding
in
those
ordinances
that
this
was
because
of
the
economic
downturn
and
the
unique
need
for
helping
the
economy,
in
my
hope
that
if
we
got
challenged
that
that
would
help
us
maybe
defend
ourselves.

H
Secured
the
lobbyists,
through
our
contract
with
tetra
tech,
our
design
engineer,
if
we
want
now
that
Beth
contract
is
over
with
I
mean
you
know,
that
contract
ran
through
the
the
budget
of
the
governor's
budget
process.
Now
the
lobbyist
continues
to
work
with
us
on
his
own.
Beyond
what
the
contract
has
that's
his
call.
H
If
we
feel
that
that's
the
type
of
service
that
may
be
beneficial
for
us
in
the
future,
not
just
with
an
RO
project
but
there's
other
services
out
there,
projects
legislation
that
we've
never
really
gone
after
per
se.
With
with
this
type
of
service,
we've
always
used
our
state
legislators,
and
we
will
continue
to
use
them,
but
we've
seen
the
benefit
of
what
a
lobbyist
can
do.
I
H
H
H
C
B
My
discussion
at
the
Florida
League
of
Cities
meeting
when
we
were
talking
about
our
local
issues
and
we
were
discussing
funding
for
the
RO
and
I
mentioned
well.
This
is
the
first
time
we've
ever
had
a
lobbyist.
There
was
a
lot
of
reaction
from
many
of
the
cities
in
the
room.
Well,
you've
got
to
have
a
lobbyist,
I
mean
they
that's
just
standard
protocol
for
the
bigger
cities
in
in
Lee
County.
It's
just
part
of
doing
business
with
the
state
of
Florida,
so
it
did
work
out
for
us
this
time.
B
D
B
G
I'm
very
happy
with
what
Jerry
Paul
is
accomplished
for
us
and,
at
the
very
least,
I'd
like
to
extend
this
contract
through
the
end
of
this,
with
what
negotiation
that
we're
going
through
and
look
beyond
that
into
what
we
could
do,
one
in
terms
of
putting
a
lobbyist
on
retainer
and
evaluating
what
he
could
do.
We
have
to
keep
in
mind.
We
have
our
own
in-house
lobbyist
over.
A
A
B
B
Secure
funding
for
this
project
on
going
until
it's
completed,
so
we
need
to
stay
active
to
keep
that
request
in
the
forefront
of
their
mind
that
you
know
this
is
a
28
million
dollar
project.
900,000
is
a
shot
in
the
arm
in
the
beginning,
but
we're
you
know
every
year
until
it's
completed
we're
going
to
make
the
ask
so
yeah.
H
H
A
H
H
J
Okay
under
vacancies,
we
continue
to
have
vacancies
as
alternates
on
the
code
enforcement
Corps,
the
building
board
and
the
historic
preservation
advisory
board
under
nominations.
We
have
an
unexpired
term
on
the
Punta
Gorda
Housing
Authority,
and
we
have
three
interested
parties
who
are
eligible
to
be
nominated
I,
safe.
J
J
Okay
and
then
under
appointments,
we
have
the
punta
gorda
isles,
now
advisory
committee.
We
did
have
three
applicants.
Mr.
gary
gunther
has
withdrawn
his
name
as
a
candidate
for
that
seat,
so
we
have
two
eligible
applicants.
If
you
would
please
just
hope
for
one
I
have
scratched
out
mr.
Gunter's
name
on
the
voting
forms.
B
H
D
Been
thinking
about
this,
our
first
meeting
in
we
come
back
from
our
recess
will
be
on
Wednesday
August,
the
13th
a
day
that
will
go
down
in
infamy
in
Punta,
Gorda
I
know
that
we're
not
having
any
celebration
so
to
speak,
but
it
seems
like
it's
been
a
10
year
process
of
revitalization
of
our
community
and
it
seems
like
we
should
do
something
and
I'm
not
sure
totally.
What
that
something
is
what
I
was
thinking
possibly
here
at
the
council
meeting,
might
be
an
appropriate
time
for
us
just
to
recognize.
D
B
B
What
I
was
getting
at
is
that
they're
trying
to
put
a
list
together
of
people
like
persons
that
were
instrumental
in
and
yes
and
groups
with
Hurricane
Charley
and
the
revitalization,
so
that
I
believe
they're
already
working
on
some
type
of
list.
So
you
may
want
to
work
with
them
and
just
see
if
there's
an
overlap-
or
you
know,
put
your
heads
together,
so
everybody's
included
and
covered
that's.
A
D
B
C
Part
of
that
John
one
of
John
suggestions
was
the
stone
crabs
game
which
they
have
fireworks
and
so
they've
offered
to
its
their
10-year
anniversary,
and
he
was
saying
the
ten
years
of
Charlie,
and
so
we
would
be
raising
money
toward
our
project
illumination
for
lighting
and
that
type
of
things.
So
it's
really
the
same
thing
you're
talking
about
so
maybe
our
Proclamation
is
that
that
will
be
you
know
whatever
day
and
then,
but
that
was
the
same
thing
he
wanted
to
have.
Everyone
come
to
the
to
the
game
and
recognized
everyone
for
their
contribution.
C
C
H
C
C
B
B
Brother
made
this
video
and
it's
on
YouTube
and
it
has
350,000
views.
So
if
you
go
on
YouTube,
you
can
find
it
under
FSU.
Pike
soldier
surprises
girlfriend
it's
under
something
headed
that
way,
but
it
turned
out
to
be
a
really
really
neat
video.
It
made
the
lakeland
ledger.
It
made
the
Tampa
news,
so
it
was
pretty
cool
so.
G
G
D
A
I
would
like
just
to
report
on
the
meeting
that
we
had
with
Senator,
been
in
questo
at
the
luncheon.
Not
wasn't
a
luncheon,
it
was
a
roundtable
meeting.
I
did
distribute
the
number
of
individuals
they're
only
Nancy
and
I
were
the
two
that
were
from
Punta
Gorda
or
Charlotte
County,
so
everyone
else
was
Fort
Myers,
but
at
the
meeting
it
was
clear
that,
as
I
mentioned
before,
that
she
just
did
not
want
to
review
the
accomplishments,
although
it
was
on
the
day,
and
we
were
waiting
for
noon
in
which
they
she
knew.
A
The
governor
was
signing
the
budget,
but
all
of
her
initiatives
that
she
put
forward
were
funded,
none
of
them
going
to
eat
out.
They
got
funded
with
something,
but
what
she
did
indicate
during
that
meeting
she
wanted
hear
about
next
year.
She
wanted
to
find
out
what
were
the
issues
that
were
again
high
on
everyone's
list
in
terms
of
what
should
be
done,
and
so
I
really
suggest
that
we
start
thinking
about
our
legislative
agenda.
A
Interestingly,
she
indicated
that
the
900,000
was
a
good
amount
of
money
that
we
came
in
a
bit
high
with
our
request,
and
so
I
was
a
little
bit
surprised
because
she
had
told
us
well
check
the
senator
Negron
he's
the
person
that's
in
charge
of
appropriations
for
the
Senate,
so
check
with
him.
And,
of
course,
when
our
staff
checked
with
him,
he
said
go
for
it.
You
know
go
for
the
the
7
million.
So
that's
what
we
did
so
I
said
well.
A
Is
it
appropriate
for
us
now
to
go
back
and
you
know
ask
do
another
ask
and
she
says:
oh
yes,
yes,
she
said
so,
but
you
might
want
to
be
a
little
bit
more
modest
and
I
said
okay
and
she
said,
like
maybe
3.5
million
I
said
okay,
so
I
think
that
we're
getting
information
from
them
again
at
the
time
she
didn't
want
to
give
us
any
number
representative,
Roberson
didn't
number
but
I.
So
I
think
we
did
very
very
well.
A
It
was
also
interesting
in
her
discussion
and
as
people
were
reporting
she's
interested
in
the
big
picture.
Obviously,
the
Caloosahatchee
in
the
okeechobee
were
big
issues
would
be
the
water
issues
for
our
region,
for
the
southwest
florida
and
what
she
was
very
appreciative
of
was
all
the
coalition's
that
work
together
to
again
address
that
also,
as
people
were
talking,
she
was
also
interested
in.
You
know
like
big
issues
in
terms
of
the
health
care
issues
in
our
state,
the
whole
Medicaid,
and
what
that
impact
is
going
to
be
honest.
A
Public
Safety
was
a
big
issue
that
was
again
brought
up
and
I
know
that
our
our
force
has
done
extremely
well
here,
but
obviously
Fort
Myers
has
extensive
problems
very
interested
in
the
recidivism
rate
in
terms
of
prisoners
getting
out
and
then
back
in
again
so
she's
looking
for
people
to
help
identify
ways
of
managing
that
and
what
can
then?
The
state
do
to
facilitate
that
youth
issues
and
I
think
I
appreciate
Kim,
taking
the
lead
here
and
I'm
thinking.
A
This
might
be
something
that
we
might
think
about
in
terms
of
Punta,
Gorda
I,
don't
know
if
you've
read
but
Kim
was
in
the
paper
this
morning
with
participating
in
the
Coalition
for
drug
free
punta,
gorda,
I,
don't
know
what
it's
going
to
be
called,
but
they
have
to
be
determine
aim
to
be
determined,
but
the
coalition
that
are
going
to
be
working
on
the
drug
issues
in
terms
of
worried
itself.
So
that
might
be
something
we
might
want
to
consider.
A
Also
yesterday
at
the
luncheon
she
also
mentioned,
she
says
this
punta
gorda
have
any
interest
or
needs
in
terms
of
major
cultural
needs
and
I
think
both
Tom
and
I
looked
at
each
other.
She
said
now
you
can't
talk
about
it
here
because
of
sunshine.
You
know
several
week,
but
we
both
you
know
our
current
Performing
Arts
Center,
certainly
does
not
meet
the
needs
of
our
community.
A
Obviously
that
would
be
a
big
ticket
item,
whatever
we
might
think
of,
so
it
could
not
be
just
funded
by
the
state
level,
but
there
might
again
I'm
just
throwing
out
some
of
the
issues
that
and
I
think
we
just
need
to
think
about
them.
When
we
heard
from
the
other
mayors
and
the
other
council
members
Cape
Coral,
they
have
a
pre-plotted
community,
similar
to
charlotte
county.
They
are
now
working
with
the
legislature
to
modify
the
legal
issues
and
the
laws
regarding
planted
areas.
I,
don't
know,
maybe
our
County.
A
A
Also,
it
was
noticing
that,
in
terms
of
safety
on
our
roads,
it
was
interesting.
Yesterday,
senator
detert
kind
of
poo-poo.
The
idea
of
supporting
anything
at
burns
store
road,
seeing
that
as
a
County
issue,
rather
than
as
a
state
issue,
and
yet
it
is
an
evacuation
route.
Now
that's
on
the
MPO
list,
but
I'm
not
sure
that
that
shouldn't
be
something
we
might
want
to
think
about
in
terms
of
state.
A
That's
why
the
MPO
has
been
working
on
it
so,
but
that
was
where
is
somewhat
just
some
of
the
thoughts
FGCU
and
edison
both
had
their
presidents
there
and
talking
about.
Of
course,
they
were
given
big
chunks
of
money
for
infrastructure,
but
I
also
wanted
to
know
from
them
in
terms
of
okay.
What
are
you
doing
to
come
up
to
punta
gorda
to
charlotte
county,
to
help
with
our
workforce
development,
and
they
said
they're
going
to
be
here
and
obviously
edison
is
f
to
see
you
has
the
big
so.
A
A
A
D
Apparent
once
I
got
there
like.
Oh
this
is
a
campaign
stop.
This
is
not
really
and
I
had
a
comment
from
someone
like
well
that
doesn't
bode
well.
He
didn't
mention
anything
to
do
with
any
of
the
money
that
was
being
asked
for
that
it
was
forthcoming,
like
the
RO
plant
or
whatever
that
that
would
have
been
a
prime
opportunity
to
say
something
and
I
said
well,
I
think
that
he's
really
singularly
focused
here.
It's
not
that's
not
what
this
is
about.
G
D
It
I
think
that
you
know
listening
to
the
conversation
and
having
knowing
what
we
know
now
in
using
Geri.
Paul
is
an
opportunity
for
us
to
get
the
advice
and
counsel
of
a
lobbyist
on
the
way
that
putting
forth
any
new
ideas,
things
that
we
want
to
ask
for
in
the
future.
It
would
help
us
shape
that
so
I
think
it
I.
B
Although
they're
talking
about
lake
releases
from
a
mock
from
the
lake
and
caloosahatchee
are
our
deal,
is
water
quality
to
just
in
a
maybe
a
different
variation
and
they-
and
somebody
at
the
table
said
to
me
no
think
regionally,
and
I
thought
you
just
asked
me
what
what
is
pedig
orta's?
Well,
you
know
issue
and
when
I
provided
it,
it
wasn't
regional
enough
and
they're
mine.
So
that's
really
why
we
need
to
be
represented
as
well,
because
they
want
us
fighting
for
the
lake
releases
and
the
Caloosahatchee
and
their
what
their
water
quality.
D
Cases
some
of
the
issues
that
were
brought
up
on
Monday
or
symptoms,
and
so
it's
not
talking
about
children
and
and
people
are
the
children
that
need
food
and-
and
you
know
it
made
me
think
of
our
the
great
job
that
are
back
pack.
Kids
team
does,
but
it's
our
United
Way
has
done
this
study.
That
really
indicated
that
there
are
a
lot
of
symptoms,
but
the
solution
is
really
economic
development.
D
A
I
Railroads
representing
p
GI
CA
at
the
time
the
city
adapted
the
project
for
the
extent
of
the
sales
tax.
The
board
PGI,
endorsed
wholeheartedly
of
the
city's
choice,
feel
kind
of
obligated
to
come
to
you
to
say
that
right
now
we're
seeing
a
strong
reaction
in
the
perceived
reaction.
I'll
put
it
that
way
in
the
community.
The
people
that
were
really
adamant
in
support
of
the
sales
tax
are
backing
off,
and
particularly
because
of
the
36
million
dollar
for
the
justice
center.
It's
not
the
eight
years.
I
A
couple
of
things
is:
either
the
commissioners
need
to
reconsider
and
go
back
to
the
six-year
in
the
original
proposal,
or
also
is
going
to
have
to
be
one
whale
of
a
campaign
to
convince
people
that
the
Justice
Center
is
justified
as
part
of
the
project
other
than
that
I
really
am
concerned
that
this
proposed
is
going
to
fail.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
K
On
I
had
to
put
that
in
there
morning,
ya,
head
fish
I
just
wanted
to
comment
and
give
you
an
update
on
our
one
community.
One
message:
brochure
that
we
have
I
know
I
send
this
to
the
council
members.
My
marketing
director
Kathy,
has
been
going
to
various
amounts
of
trade
shows
giving
these
out
and
they
are
a
huge
huge
hit.
K
We
also
gave
some
I
believe
a
hundred
to
the
maritime
committee
to
send
out
to
the
different
boat
club's
sarasota
venice,
to
get
people
to
come
here
with
their
boat
club,
so
this
is
a
great
tool
I.
Thank
you
for
your
support,
your
continued
support
and
we're
moving
on
to
the
next
step,
which
is
our
toolbox
so
more
to
come.
So
thank
you.
Thank.
A
You-
and
I
just
want
to
mention
to
yesterday
at
the
luncheon
I
brought
a
number
of
them
and
distributed
them,
and
a
lot
of
people
hadn't,
seen
it
yet
or
wasn't
aware
of
it.
So
it
was
a
again.
They
all
thought
it
was
beautiful
and
I
kept
telling
them.
This
is
a
volunteer
effort
and
identified.
You
also
thank.
F
F
I've
got
the
terminology:
I'm,
not
a
techie.
Okay.
We
just
wanted
it
that
when
you
go
bow
to
punta
gorda
or
plan
agoura
punta
gorda,
boaters
alliance,
org
that
you
don't
have
any
confusion,
so
you
can
get
right
into
facebook.
You
can
go
right
into
all
the
various
hits.
You
know
progress
on
the
cut
through
everything's
there.
So
if
you
have
a
place
in
your
city,
I
think
you
do
that
refers
to
Punta
Gorda
boaters
Alliance
they're,
going
to
see
a
whole
different
thing.
