Description
Description
A
B
A
The
mining
meeting
will
be
meeting
with
county
staff
and
the
private
folks
who've
also
intervened,
July
twentieth,
yes,
two
o'clock,
two
o'clock,
July
twentieth,
to
see
if
we
can
come
up
with
some
language
instead
of
going
finish
up.
The
hearing,
which
is
earrings
been
put
off
till
the
week
of
August
twenty-fourth.
D
A
At
least
we're
going
to
talk
by
20th
and
then
we've
been
getting
sporadic
recommendations
for
the
strategic
plan.
So
when
you
come
back
on
August
nineteenth
you'll
have
a
draft
of
what
we
may
want
to
include
as
action
items.
We
usually
try
to
adopt
that
either
the
second
meeting
in
August
or
the
first
meeting
in
September's
part
of
the
budget.
A
Facebook
questions
we
can,
we
can
put
on
there
some
services
to
see
what
people
think
about
them
as
we
go
along
over
the
next
number
of
months.
There's
another
suggestion
that
has
come:
it's
an
interesting
one
and
that
is
do
we
want
to
ask
a
question:
is
it
up?
What
are
the
people
think
about
the
South
County
overlay?
A
G
I
think
that,
if
that,
if
the
question
can
be
facing
some
kind
of
a
provocative
way,
then
it
does
tend
to
elicit
more
response.
So
if
it's
something
where
you
know,
you
introduce
an
idea
that
we
were
paying
for
something,
is
this
worth
it
or
do
you?
Do
you
like
we're
spending
a
lot
of
money
on
roads,
you're
telling
us
you
want
this?
Do
you
want
us
to
continue?
I
mean
it's
things
where
you
can.

K
Thank
you.
My
name
is
Bob
tariffs
on
an
attorney
from
Sarasota
and
we've
had
the
pleasure
of
working
with
a
firm
out
of
South
Carolina,
a
motley
rice
for
the
purpose
of
working
on
your
claim.
Your
claim
was
brought
under
oppa
the
oil
pollution
act
and
friend,
for
what
it's
worth
it's
a
different
set
of
claims
than
exist
under
what
we
always
hear
about
it
in
terms
of
the
typical
settlement,
the
class
action
settlement
you're,
not
part
of
that
this
was
a
separate
lawsuit
filed
for
for
you,
in
which
you
were
the
plaintiff.
K
Specifically,
I
know,
there's
all
that
attorney.
Levin
has
informed
you
about
the
confidentiality
orders.
The
judges
have
signed
three
confidentiality
orders
in
this
case
and
other
than
the
amount
and
then
the
fact
of
a
release
and
a
settlement
agreement.
Nothing
else
is
supposed
to
be
discussed
in
the
public
forum.
If
you
have
some
specific
questions,
if
I
feel
I
can
answer
them
without
violating
a
confidentiality
order,
I
would
be
happy
to
try
and
do
that.
K
K
K
Well,
the
offer
to
Punta
Gorda,
if
you
will
is
a
total
of
1
million
189,000
761
after
expenses
and
after
attorneys
fees,
the
nut
to
Punta
Gorda
would
be
eight
seven,
seven
three
to
five
to
four,
and
so
what
I'd
be
asking
is
approval
of
the
resolution
approval
of
the
settlement
about
approval
of
signing
the
release
that
attorney
11
has
a
copy
of
as
well,
and
also
an
authorization
for
the
city
manager
and
for
City
Attorney
to
take
whatever
other
actions
might
be
necessary
in
order
to
effectuate
the
settlement.
We're
told
that.
K
E
K
E
F
D
It's
okay:
this
is
a
wreck.
This
is
a
resolution
which
are
read
by
title.
Only
resolution
of
the
city
of
punta
gorda
in
the
state
of
florida
accepting
a
full
and
final
settlement
of
all
claims
against
BP
and
others
resulting
from
the
deepwater
horizon
oil
spill,
authorizing
the
execution
and
delivery
of
a
general
release
and
other
necessary
documents
and
providing
an
immediately
effective
date,
move.
E
You
it's
been
moved
and
seconded
to
approve
this
resolution
with
regards
to
accepting
a
full
and
final
settlement
of
all
claims
against
BP
and
others
resulting
from
the
deepwater
horizon
oil
spill
all
in
favor
aye
any
opposed
Thank
You.
Mr.
Tufts,
thank
you
for
your
efforts
on
our
behalf.
They're
very
much
appreciated
it's
obviously
an
expensive
proposition
to
move
forward
in
any
kind
of
litigation
with
regards
to
this
type
of
effort,
but
we've
very
very
appreciative.
Thank
you.
Well,.
K
D
K
K
C
G
A
I
E
You'll
keep
us
updated,
then,
when
we
come
back
okay,
great
neither
comments
or
questions
with
regards
to
that.
Ok,
we
have
policy
and
legislation.
The
only
thing
really
that
I
have
is
that
I
will
plan
to
attend
the
meeting
of
Mayors
on
Wednesday
afternoon
at
the
League
of
Cities
and
hopefully
come
back
with
some
good
information
in
terms
of
some
recommendations
that
they
have
in
terms
of
leadership
in
moving
the
organization
forward.
So
we'll
see
how
that
goes
great.
I
A
M
John's
prepare
a
presentation,
I
know
how
it
was
there
and
Bill.
Aikens
is
here
from
the
from
the
Kim
it
from
the
Vietnam
War
committee,
and
she
took
the
time
to
point
out
the
the
construction
methods
that
we
use
for
the
wall,
I
the
the
cost
for
their
wallet.
They
purchased
a
metal
wall,
one
of
the
Traveling
walls
of
it's
an
eighty
percent
replica
and
they
heard
the
purchase
price
was
five
hundred
thousand
dollars.
M
M
E
M
Mounted
in
the
immediate
Oklahoma,
what
are
the
other
things
that
she
was
one
of
the
things
she
pointed
out
through
was
when
she
was.
There
was
a
little
concerned
about
what
we
have
enough
money
to
do
what
we
want
to
do,
what
we've
explained
she
was
taken
to
the
blasting
park
and
showing
where
the
memorial
was
going
to
be.
So
that
was
a
concern
that
was
raised
also,
since
it
was
initiated
by
tourism.
The
question
was
asked
for
how
how
many
comedy
tourists
go
to
the
site
and
the
other
wall.
M
There
really
wasn't
a
good
answer.
The
she
was.
She
was
getting
her
reports
from
the
airport
authority
that
so
that
they
will
just
witnessing
people
on
a
daily
basis
that
did
go
in
fact,
visit
the
wall
and
I,
don't
Rachel.
You
may
recall
one
when
this
when
we
first
started
having
this
conversation,
we
contacted
Enid
Oklahoma,
and
it
was
told
to
me
that
one
of
the
issues
that
they
had
if
they
had
to
do
it
all
over
again,
was
the
traveling.
M
The
wall
would
not
have
been
both
nani
important
property
would
better
be
located
in
a
much
more
sensory
located
facility
so
to
try
and
establish
the
value
of
tourism
based
on
that
scenario
is
kind
of
tough
to
do.
We
know
when
we
had
the
wall
here,
the
claim
was
we
had
about
80
thousand
visitors
come
to.
Would
the
wall
committee
recently
received
a
contribution
from
waste
management
of
five
grand
now
and
another
five
grand.
M
M
C
Rachel
I
guess
you're
entering
into
the
realm
of
TDC,
which
I've
been
on
for
three
years
now:
I
think
and
it's
it's
kind
of
like
cogs
and
a
system,
and
you
don't
really
know
how
to
how
to
and
ttc
his
Tourist
Development
councils,
Kim
and
ice
represent
the
city
there.
It's
it's
a
very
different
board
because
we're
there
and
really
our
charge
is
to
make
sure
that
the
money
is
spent
two
along
the
lines
of
the
statute.
We're
not
really
there
to
direct
where
the
money
goes.
C
Is
okay
and
we're
you
know
now
we're
going
back
and
Laura
wants
to
set
up
a
process
for
how
people
come
and
ask,
but
the
process
that
I've
already
been
to
a
meeting
concerning
is
infrastructure
costs
not
marketing,
not
brochures,
not
that
type
of
thing,
but
infrastructure
costs.
So
she
is
looking
to
put
a
process
together
for
that
so
I
think.
If
it's
on
the
agenda,
then
the
ass
should
just
be
made
and
we
see
where
it
goes.
I
mean
we
haven't
had
my
time
on.
C
C
M
C
H
E
C
N
That's
really
I'm
billikens
I'm,
with
the
director
of
fundraising
for
the
Vietnam
Wall
committee
and
we're
thinking
another
fifty
thousand
dollars,
plus
what
we've
got
pledged
to
us
already
from
different
companies
and
people.
I,
think
that
will
pretty
well
get
us
there
where
we
need
to
be
and
we're
going
to
continue
our
fundraising
efforts
just
to
make
sure
but
I
think
fifty
thousand
I
think
they'll
probably
get
a
surplus.
You
know
what
we've
got
coming
muddle
through
this
thing
from
the
state
and
everything
I
think
we'll
be
just
fine.
Well.
E
N
You
if
I
may
add
one
thing
for
those
of
us
that
were
at
the
presentation
by
lane
from
Enid.
If
anyone
has
ever
been
to
enid
oklahoma
and
you
can
see
that
she
actually
got
people
to
go
to
Enid
Oklahoma,
she,
she
managed
quite
a
feat
there
and
we're
going
to
take
some
of
her
advice
as
far
as
getting
people
to
come
and
I
think
that
we
are
going
to
have
much
more
success
than
than
they
certainly
did.
Thank.
E
F
M
I
What
I
recommended
to
the
board
and
I
think
that
probably
will
fall
over
is
that
we
put
that
on
a
bands.
We
are
not
in
dire
need
it
for
that
property
to
move
because
phase
two
money.
It
is
still
in
the
challenge,
but
we're
pretty
confident
that
thing
in
the
next
couple
of
weeks
is
going
to
be
cleared
out.
So
we're
very
feeling
real
good
about
that.
I
I
Did
that
would
have
to
be
a
bid
process?
That's
what
HUD
that
we
were
talking
about,
that
negotiating
and
all
of
a
sudden,
I
jumped
in
and
said.
No,
you
can't
do
that.
It's
got
to
be
a
bid
process
and
the
value
was
set
and
we're
just
going
to
sit
on
it
and
see
what
happened.
At
least,
that's
I
think
that's
what
will
happen
at
our
next
meeting.
Thank.
F
G
We
have
a
volunteer
that
lives
here
in
Punta
Gorda
than
as
a
marketing
research
analysts
that
is
going
to
help
us
with
them
develop
a
survey
that
we
are
going
to
be
doing,
and
so
we
have
other
things
planned
and
we're
gathering
all
this
data
so
that
it
then,
when
we
go
approach
businesses
to
participate
in
this,
we
have
data
to
prove
why
it's
important
so
we're
doing
our
homework.
Right
now
and.
G
F
G
H
G
F
G
The
airport
is
doing
a
survey
and
it's
some
rather
simple
survey
with
a
couple
of
questions
at
the
kiosk
in
the
baggage
claim.
What
we're
going
to
be
doing
is-
and
we
be
using
that
information,
but
we're
also
going
to
be
doing
a
survey
at
fisherman's
village
and
the
Laura's
looking
at
possibly
a
device
called
opinion
meter
and
this
pea
meter
device
can
then
be
moved
from
place
to
place.
We're
talking
about
two
different
kinds
of
surveys.
The
opinion
meter
is
is
a
device
and
then
also
having
volunteers
at
Fisherman's
Village
at
a
prescribed
time.
G
That
would
be
conducting
a
survey,
and
so
we
have
we
have
work
to
do.
We
haven't
decided,
you
know
when
and
how
and
I
think
the
marketing
research
analysts
can
help
us,
because
we
want
to
make
sure
that
the
data
we
collect
is
usable.
Well,
it's
a
valid
data
and
so
he's
very
excited
to
join
us
and
helping
these
volunteer
and
we're
excited
that
has
somebody
like
that
that
can
help
us.
So
it's.
G
I
75
then,
all
of
a
sudden
everybody's
paying
for
these
asset
anyway.
So
a
consistency
of
message,
then
all
of
a
sudden
starts
to
build
a
brand
and
its
really
helping
to
market
the
brand
of
Punta,
Gorda
and
people.
Talk
about
Fisherman's
Village
spends
a
lot
of
money
every
year,
successfully
marketing
themselves
and
our
community,
and
so
we
really
are
the
beneficiary
of
all
of
fishermen's
villages.
Efforts
and
a
lot
of
businesses
look
at
Fisherman's
Village
as
a
model,
and
once
we
gather
all
this
data
I
think
that
the
power
will
be.
G
E
G
L
A
A
L
B
Bill
hughes,
burnstow,
Isles
I've
been
a
full-time
resident
of
the
city
since
the
2001
I
serve
on
several
committees,
I
volunteer
in
the
police
department.
At
the
end
of
the
day,
the
Cavs
was
responsible
for
the
budget
and
if
you
go
out
and
start
the
look
for
individual
comments,
I
meeker
Eric
told
us
that
theme
point
to
go
to
the
cave.
People,
citizens,
virtually
everything
so
I,
would
just
say
I,
think
being
a
full-time
resident.
I
don't
want
to
lose
any
of
my
services.
People
that
choose
to
live
down
here,
part-time,
that's
their
choice.
B
O
O
O
People
here
think
they're
getting
great
value
for
the
dollars
that
are
spent
the
people
from
out
of
town.
The
most
general
comment
that
I
get
from
them
is:
oh,
my
god.
If
you
see
what
we
get
here
for
what
we
pay
up
north
at
the
other
house,
this
place
has
a
real
bargain.
People
buy
and
live
here
because
of
what
they're
getting
for
their
tax,
dollar
and
I.
Think
that's
proven.
O
One
of
the
things
that
we
had
today
was
is:
where
do
we
stand
in
the
south
county
over
light?
Yes,
that
is
a
key
issue
to
us
and
we're
getting
kind
of
old,
so
we'd
like
to
see
it
before
we
demise
I
did
have
another
question
this
morning
or
the
reserves.
Ladies
I
stuck
my
head
for
the
board
meeting
is
there's
$100,000.
That's
been
borrowed
from
canal
maintenance.
If
the
pro
the
customer
does
not
proceed
due
to
permitting
who
pays
the
money
back
to
canal
maintenance,.
A
A
We
don't
know
what
the
contract
for
for
design
and
permitting
will
be.
It
will
be
an
amount
yeah
again.
It's
fully
intended
to
pay
back
through
an
assessment
area.
If
the
project
never
comes
to
be
then
the
City
Council
at
that
time,
we'll
have
to
make
a
determination
as
to
where
that
funding
comes
from.
As
you
can
see,
there
will
be
plenty
of
funding
sources
where
that
money
can
come
from.
Okay,.
O
And
finally,
my
last
comment
is:
it
was
rather
disturbing
in
regard
to
the
governor's
vetoes
that
the
county
made
a
statement
that
the
city
got.
Everything
in
the
county
got
practically
nothing.
It
kind
of
disturbed
me
that
the
county
looked
upon
us
as
a
separate
entity
away
from
lucent,
Charlotte
County.
That's
it
our.
M
H
C
I
Looking
at
that,
and-
and
you
also
mentioned
the
large
some
of
the
large
increases-
and
there
are
some
very
large
increases
in
the
taxable
value
that
I
I
didn't
have
time
because
I've
put
some
other
reports,
the
other
for
Howard.
But
I
will
look
at
the
see.
Maybe
if
I
can
defy
some
of
the
reasons
why
that
I'll
be
going
out
of
town
for
twelve
date.
But
when
I
get
back
on
thank.
P
You
see,
or
she
dates,
patty
Allen
we
just
received
877
thousand
dollars
for
BP
and
I'd
like
to
be
the
first
to
request,
half,
perhaps
for
a
marketing
budget
I'm
just
kidding
we
with
one
community.
One
message:
I
am
the
representative
that
is
working
on
the
city's
website
and
it
is
a
very
interesting
process
and
it
has
been
an
absolute
delight
to
work
with
the
city
staff
and
really
it's
coming
together
very
nicely
and
will
be
anxious
to
show
you
that
with
the
vietnam
wall,
I
know
we.
P
We
certainly
go
around
and
go
all
over
the
state
of
florida,
marketing,
fisherman's
village
and
we
bring
the
punta
gorda
brochure
and
we're
happy
to
bring
any
of
your
information
for
the
Vietnam
Wall.
When
my
marketing
director
goes
up,
but
it's
I
think
it's
very
important
that
you
all
partner-
and
this
is
part
of
the
one
community-
one
message
with
the
military
museum
at
Fisherman's
Village,
because
it
is
bookends
and
we
can
cross
and
I-
think
there's
a
lot
of
power
when
you
mark
it
together.
P
E
You
buddy
in
citizens
comments
anyone
else
interested
in
speaking
to
any
issue
with
related
to
the
city,
okay,
I
guess,
then
we
will
adjourn
this
meeting.
I
do
want
to
wish
all
of
my
colleagues
a
happy
break.
We
will
not
be
back
here
until
the
August
nineteenth
meeting
so
yay
vacation,
so
we
will
see
you
then
enjoy
Thanks.
Thank
you.
Meetings,
adjourned.
