Hello, boys and girls welcome to San Bruno library presents once upon a time, and my name is Miss rocky and I'm. So glad you're here joining me today for another story, time and I just want to mention to you that I've seen some of you come to the library and I think that is wonderful.

You know I work at the library and I love the library and it's so good for you to come by and see me or miss Barbara, and we also have story times at the library to where you can see us with other kids, singing and reading books. You can see us right in front of you and that is on monday night at seven o'clock and tuesdays and thursdays at eleven o'clock in the morning. So let your mom or dad know so they can bring to the library.

Some of you have started school and one day you will start school, and this is about Tucker's 4-carat school day by susan winget, we're gonna read about Tucker's first day of school.

Tucker peeked out of hiding I, don't want to go to school. He said: hey I, remember the first time I went to school. What's he doing to get ready, looks like he's, brushing his teeth, right, mother and tulip packed a surprise and Tuckers backpack.

Then they walked down the street to school.

Maybe I better not go in said tucker. Won't you and tulip miss me and there he is hiding behind mom. Of course, I will miss you Tucker, but I just know, you'll be great at school and Tuckers mother gave him a big hug. Well, Tucker felt better, but tulip his little sister looked sad here. Then he saw something in the bottom of his backpack. He reached in and pulled out a picture. There was his whole family even stitch.

Suddenly Tucker didn't feel quite so homesick when he was taking his nap.

That was nice of montelena picture in his backpack right at playtime, Jonathan and Jared were building a tall tower. I'm good at blocks said tucker and he added one to the top of the blocks. Millie went next and her block made the tower tumble to the ground crash. Shh sorry said: Millie, that's okay, said tucker. Knocking it down is the best part.

Do you think Tucker is making new friends I think so? Well soon it was snack time and miss blossom gave everyone an apple and an oatmeal raisin cookie I don't want an apple Millie said I, don't like raisins and cookies said Tucker. Let's trade.

Before Tucker knew it, the school day was over. His mother was waiting to walk him. Home and Tucker waved goodbye to his new friends. Bye, bye, Tucker, said Millie, bye milli said Tucker.

Tell us about your day, father said well, first I spilled paint, then I sang loud when everybody else was quiet, but then everybody sang with me and Millie gave me her apple and I gave her. My cookie and I brought home a picture.

Mother put Tucker's picture on the refrigerator father said Tucker, it sounds like you've had a four-carat day. You painted a picture, you help the teacher and you made some new friends, mother and father said were so proud of you.

That was a nice story of starting school. Wasn't it so if you haven't started school now, you know what to look forward to when you do making new friends and painting and singing songs. So let's do another song, and this one is the mighty Duke of York and you can stand up if you'd like I'm, going to stay seated in my chair, but you at home. You can stand up okay and we're going to march and go up and down the mighty duke of york.
