A
A
Hi
welcome
to
San
Bruno
library
presents
once
upon
a
time,
I'm,
so
glad
you've
joined
us
today.
We're
going
to
read
some
stories
today
about
pirates.
So
let's
get
started.
We're
glad
you're
here
today
we're
glad
you're
here
today,
hi
ho
meri.
Oh
we're
glad
you're
here
today,
very
good,
okay,
our
first
story
today
is
this
one:
Henry
and
The
Buccaneer
bunnies
by.
B
The
seven
seas
on
a
crickety
old
ship
called
the
salty
carrot,
sailed
a
wild
rowdy
band
of
Buccaneers
bunnies.
They
were
bad
bad
bunnies.
Alright,
when
pirates
on
other
ships
saw
their
long
floppy
ears
and
their
fluffy
white
tails.
They
shook
with
fear
the
captain
of
the
salty
carrot
was
Barnacle
black
e'er,
the
baddest
bunny,
brute
of
all
time.
Black
ear
was
proud
of
his
wooden
paw,
his
golden
earrings
and
his
mean
reputation.
What
black
e'er
was
not
proud
of
was
a
son
Henry.
Instead
of
performing
his
proper
pirating
duties.
A
Shout
shiver
me:
timbers
black
ear
ordered
I'd
rather
finish.
This
chapter
said
Henry
make
this
prisoner
walk
the
blank
can't
I
just
read
about
it.
Henry
find
yourself
a
parrot
for
your
shoulder.
First
I
need
to
read
up
on
parrot
care,
said
Henry
Buccaneer
bunnies,
don't
need
books,
toss
them
overboard.

Slashed
the
sails
damaged
the
deck
and
ripped
up
the
rickety
old,
salty
carrot.
All
that
was
left
floating
on
the
choppy
waters
were
a
bunch
of
soggy,
bunnies
and
Henry's
cheshire
treasure
chest
filled
with
books
when
the
storm
finally
calmed
down
black
here.
Henry
and
the
rest
of
the
Buccaneers
paddled
to
the
nearest
island
were
ruined.
A
B

It's
all
from
them.
Landlubbing
book
said
black
e'er,
shaking
his
head,
Henry
taught
black
here
and
the
buccaneer
bunnies
all
kinds
of
useful
things
like
how
to
plant
carrots
make
the
best
sand
castles
and
build
boats
out
of
palm
fronds.
Soon
they
built
a
new
ship
which
they
sailed
to
the
library
at
the
nearby
Easter
islands.
Every
summer.
Here
the
bunny
spent
many
happy
hours,
slurping
seaweed
stew
and
reading
books,
I
buccaneer
bunnies.

Hoped
the
pirate
spell
would
wear
off.
He
went
out
to
play
an
hour
later.
He
came
home
yikes.
He
cried
a
pirate
flag,
flew
over
his
house.
Pirate
mom
stood
in
the
yard.
She
wore
an
eye
patch
and
a
pirate
head
scarf
Pete's
parrot
sat
on
her
shoulder

Pete
dragged
pirate
mom
inside
now.
Pete
was
really
worried.
His
mom
had
a
job.
She
couldn't
go
to
work
with
an
eye
patch
in
a
pirate
scarf.
B
A
B
Him
they
had
come
for
a
PTA
meeting.
There
was
a
crash
in
the
kitchen.
What
was
that
asked
a
man
pirate
mom
burst
through
the
door?
She
waved
a
frying
pan
in
the
air
yo-ho-ho.
She
said,
give
me
your
loot,
whom
I
said
the
people
Pete
thought
fast
again
long
thinks
you
should
have
a
costume
party.
Pete
said
it's
a
good
way
to
raise
money
for
our
school.
B
B
B
Bandits
we
are
doctors,
they
said
he
turned
to
the
amazing
marco.
I
like
pirates
beat
said,
but
it
is
hard
having
a
pirate
for
a
mom.
Oh
dear
said,
marco.
I
am
very
sorry
Marco
snuck
up
on
pirate
mom.
He
told
her.
She
was
getting
sleepy.
He
told
her.
It
was
time
to
be
Pete's
mom
again
he
clapped
his
hands.
She
woke
up.
Where
are
we?
What
happened
said?
Pete's
mom
Marco
turned
you
into
a
pirate
said:
Pete,
don't
be
silly
said:
Pete's
mom
she
bumped
into
a
wheelchair.
B
Let
me
I
should
take
off
your
eye.
Patch
Pete
said
Pete's
mom
put
her
hand
on
her
face.
She
felt
her
eye
patch.
Oh
my
she
whispered
the
next
day,
Pete
found
a
letter
under
the
door.
It
was
from
the
amazing
Marco
his
mom
read
the
letter.
Sorry
for
all
the
trouble
please
accept
this
gift
to
bits
of
paper
fell
out.
A
A
To
teach
you
a
rhyme
about
the
ocean,
it
goes
like
this
here
is
the
boat
so
make
your
boat
with
your
hands?
Here's
the
here's
the
boat
here
is
the
sea.
Here
are
the
waves,
and
here
is
me,
and
then
you
have
your
little
fishes
all
of
the
fishes
down
below
wiggle
their
tails
and
away.
They
go
just
like
that.
Okay,
let's
see
what
our
next
pirate
book
is.
Aha,
how
I
became.
B
Pirates
have
a
green
teeth
when
they
have
any
teeth
at
all.
I
know
about
pirates,
because
one
day
when
I
was
at
the
beach
building
a
sand
castle
and
minding
my
own
business,
a
pirate
ship
sailed
into
view.
I
knew
what
it
was,
because
the
flag
had
a
skull
and
crossbones
on
it
and
because
I
could
hear
the
pirate
singing
hey
ho
blow
the
man
down.
They
were
a
little
off
key
I
tried
to
tell
dad,
but
he
was
busy
setting
up
the
beach
umbrella.
I
tried
to
tell
mom,
but
she
was
busy
slathering.
B
B
B
A
B
There
was
plenty
to
do
on
board.
The
Pirates
taught
me
to
sing
sea
chanteys
the
louder,
the
better
and
to
say
real
pirate
stuff.
Like
landlubber
and
scurvy
dog.
By
dinner
time,
I
could
speak.
Pirate
perfectly
I,
also
learned
pirate
manners,
braid-beard
pounded
his
fist
on
the
table
and
yelled
down
nach.
A
A
B
B
B
B
B
By
now
it
was
past
my
bedtime,
but
nobody
tells
pirates
when
to
go
to
bed
to
take
a
bath
or
to
brush
their
teeth.
I
mean
that's
why
their
teeth
are
green
pirates,
sleep
with
one
eye
open
just
in
case,
and
they
don't
change
into
pajamas
unless
they
want
to
pirates,
don't
do
anything
they
want
to,
except
for
maybe
swabbing
the
decks.
I.
B
B
B
B
Lightning
hit
the
mast
and
split
it
right
down
the
middle.
What
do
we
do
now?
Yelled
one
of
the
Pirates
will
have
to
turn
back
yelled
another,
but
the
treasure
hollered
braid-beard.
Where
will
we
bury
the
treasure
I
stepped
forward?
Maybe
I
can
help
I
shout
it
over.
The
wind
I
think
I
know
the
perfect
digging
spot
when
the
storm
was
over.
We
rode
back
to
shore
and
buried
the
chest.
We
drew
a
map,
so
we
could
find
the
treasure
again,
but
I
don't
think
I'll
need
it.
It
says:
jeremy,
jacobs,
backyard.
A
B
Battle
axe,
sometimes
what
Edward
read
seemed
to
become
real
once
when
he
was
reading
a
book
about
dinosaurs,
he
was
convinced
he
saw
a
Tyrannosaurus
Rex
outside
his
window.
Next
to
home,
the
library
was
Edwards
favorite
place.
He
had
his
own
library
card
and
could
borrow
all
the
books
he
could
carry
one
day,
Edward
found
a
book
lying
on
a
shelf
behind
some
other
books.
The
book
was
old
and
covered
with
dust.
B
Edward
blew
away
the
dust
and
read
the
title
lost
pirate
treasure.
He
sat
down
and
began
to
read.
Some
pirate
treasure
has
never
been
found.
Edward
was
still
reading
when
he
felt
someone
tapped
him
on
the
shoulder.
It
was
mrs.
Torres
the
librarian
time
to
go
Edward.
She
said
the
library
will
be
closing
soon.
Edward
checked
out
the
book
and
walked
home
arriving
just
in
time
for
supper.
That
night
Edward
went
to
bed
early
taking
his
book
with
him.
B
When
the
pirate
ship
was
being
tossed
about
on
stormy
seas,
it
was
Edward
who
bravely
took
them
sometime
in
the
night,
Edward
felt
his
bed
being
bumped
Edward
SAT
up
and
looked
around
and
saw
he
was
surrounded
by
pirate.
What
are
you
pirates
doing
in
my
room?
He
demanded
we've
come
for
that
book
answered
the
pirate
who
seemed
to
be
the
leader.
We
think
it
tells
where
our
treasure
is
buried.
I
can't
give
it
to
you.
Edward
said
it's
checked
out
on
my
library
card.
He'll
have
to
wait
till
I
return.
It.
A
B
Pirates
begged,
but
Edward
wouldn't
change
his
mind.
They
pleaded
but
Edward
folded
his
arms
around
the
book
and
shook
his
head.
No,
they
even
promised
him
a
share
of
treasure,
but
that
wouldn't
work
either
you'll
have
to
walk
the
plank,
threaten
the
Pirates,
but
Edward
stood
firm.
Finally,
one
of
the
Pirates
do
his
sword
and
waved
it
over
Edwards
head
hand
it
over.
He
roared,
but
Edward
wouldn't
budge
better,
be
quiet.
He
warned
the
pirates
or
you'll
wake.
B
My
mom
and
dad
Edward
had
just
finished
speaking
when
the
door
to
his
room
burst
open
and
someone
riding
a
huge
white
horse
charged
in
it
was
Edwards
mother.
She
was
dressed
in
a
shining
suit
of
armor
and
was
carrying
a
lance.
She
pinned
the
sword
waving
pirate
to
the
wall,
but
then
the
other
pirates
drew
their
swords
and
closed
in
for
the
attack.
B
B
Came
for
this
book
he
explained
to
his
mother
and
father
I.
Don't
think
they
meant
any
harm.
Edward
handed
the
book
to
the
Pirates,
the
head
pirate
held
it
open,
while
the
others
huddle
close
by
talking
in
whispers.
After
a
few
minutes,
the
pirate
gave
the
book
back
to
Edward
man's
have
no
use
to
us.
He
said,
sadly,
we
can't
read,
you
can't
read,
said
Edward,
not
one
word
answered
the
pirate.
None
of
us
can
I'll
read
it
to.
You,
then
said
Edward.
B
That
is,
if
it's
all
right
with
my
mom
and
dad
it
was
but
don't
stay
up
too
late.
Edwards
mother
told
him
firmly
and
close
the
window
when
you
leave
said
Edwards
father
to
the
Pirates
and
his
mother.
As
mother
and
father
left
the
room
and
went
back
to
bed
Edward
opened
the
book
and
began
to
read
aloud
some
pirate
treasure.
