Description
San Bruno Police Department's message regarding recent burglaries.
March 2014
A
My
name
is
Sean
great
house
I'm,
a
police
officer
with
the
city
of
san
bruno,
and
I'm
here
today,
just
to
let
you
know
that
there
has
been
a
recent
rise
in
residential
burglaries
with
in
san
bruno
and
other
seas
with
in
san
mateo
county.
The
type
of
burglaries
that
we're
having
are
basically
what
we
would
refer
to
as
a
door
knock
burglary.
So
it's
a
crime
of
opportunity
and
it's
really
happening
all
over
the
city.
It's
not
reduced
to
just
one
location.
A
What
we're
seeing
is
that,
if
people
are
not
answering
the
door
that
what
these
suspects
are
doing
is
going
around
the
homes
perimeter
looking
for
an
open
opportunity
to
come
into
your
home,
an
open
window,
an
open
door
and
possibly
even
looking
for
an
entrance
point,
that's
out
of
you
or
they
can
force
their
way
into
the
house.
So
it's
important
that
if
you're
there
to
please
make
it
known
that
you're
there.
A
It's
really
important
that
you
know
we
get
your
help
again.
If
you
see
something
that
does
not
belong
in
your
neighborhood,
you
need
to
let
us
know
so
that
we
can
come
and
take
a
look.
We
ask
that
you
not
do
anything
other
than
be
a
great
witness
vehicle
description,
suspect
descriptions
vehicle
license
plates.
Anything
you
can
do
to
help
us,
that's
what
we're
asking
from
the
public.
So
please
don't
go
into
your
home
if
you
come
home
and
you
find
that
it's
been
broken
into.
A
A
If
you
don't
have
your
cell
phone
go
to
a
neighboring
home,
use
their
phone
call
911,
let
us
know
if
you
can
pay
attention,
you
know
we'll
watch
the
front
of
the
house
see
if
anyone
comes
or
goes
from
your
residence
if
a
car
pulls
up
out
front
and
someone
comes
out
to
the
car
and
they
drive
away,
that's
important
for
us
to
know
again.
We
need
you
to
be
the
best
witness
that
you
can
be.
Those
witnesses
you
know
are
going
to
help
us
to
try
to
find
out
who
those
people
are.
A
We
at
the
police
department
certainly
want
to
be
the
people
who
deal
with
these
individuals.
I
mean
these
folks
are
out
committing
crime
and
because
they're
committing
crime
we
certainly
don't
want
you
to
get
in
their
way.
There
is
no
piece
of
property
that
you
can
lose
or
would
lose.
That
would
be
worth
you
being
harmed
or
a
family
member
being
harmed.
So
when
you
see
these
things,
the
think
the
thing
that
we
need,
the
very
most
from
you-
is
to
communicate
with
us
so
that
we
can
come
and
help
again.
A
We
know
that
these
crimes
are
going
on
and
we
are
doing
our
very
best
to
fight
these
crimes
and
by
doing
so,
that's
why
we're
really
trying
to
get
the
public
to
help
us
we're
empowering
you
to
help
us
and
we're
just
asking
that
you
be
the
best
witness
that
you
can
be
and
call
us
immediately,
911
anytime,
that
you
feel
like
there's
something
life-threatening
or
an
emergency.
That's
occurring!
Please
get
on
that
phone
and
call
us.
