4. Presentations
A
The
City
Council,
the
city
center
of
state
of
California,
whereas
the
American
Red
Cross,
has
touched
many
lives
in
the
bay
area
as
well
as
across
the
country
and
around
the
world
for
more
than
130
years
and
warehouse.
Harold
W
Brooks
has
served
as
chief
chief
executive
officer
of
the
American
Red
Cross
for
over
16
years
and
whereas
his
professional
accomplice
mention
clewd,
making
a
lasting
contribution
to
the
community
through
innovative
and
award-winning
preparedness
programs
like
prepare,
Bay,
Area
and
ready
neighborhoods,
and
where
has
he
has
positioned
our
local
Red
Cross.
A
Now,
therefore,
I
general
Wayne,
mayor
of
the
city
of
Santa
bruna,
by
virtue
of
the
authority
vested
in
me
as
mayor
and
speaking
on
behalf
of
the
entire
city
council
and
all
of
the
citizens
of
San
Bruno,
you
hereby
officially
recognized
Harold
W
Brooks
and
express
our
sincere
appreciation
for
his
service
to
our
community.
We
wish
him
success
in
all
his
future
endeavors
and
are
grateful
for
the
benefit
of
contributions
to
our
community.
As
I
said
Harold's
not
with
us
this
evening,
he's
probably
watching
the
state
of
the
union
in
person.
A
B
So
mayor
city
manager,
Jackson,
City,
Council
members
and
community
of
San
Bruno,
we
need
to
stop
meeting
this
way.
Just
a
a
month
ago,
I
was
here
accepting
the
proclamation
for
Marian
Wilson
silvestri,
as
you
mentioned,
Harold
was
the
CEO
for
the
Red
Cross
for
over
16
years,
and
he
was
the
one
they
called
when
any
disaster
happened
in
this
country,
Harold
Brooks
was
deployed,
he's
probably
seen
more
disaster
sites
than
any
of
us
in
this
room
will
ever
see
in
our
lifetime
he's
been
to
Hurricane
Katrina.
He
was
in
New
York
for
911.
B
He
went
to
the
Gulf
Coast
for
every
single
hurricane
they
ever
had.
But
when
something
happened
in
his
backyard
in
his
community
he
was
always
the
first
one
on
site
a
lot
of
times
beating
most
of
the
volunteer
staff
on
sep
tember,
10
Harold
deployed
to
san
bruno
within
60
minutes
of
the
explosion
and
from
the
moment
he
landed,
he
said
whatever
resource
we
have
as
the
American
Red
Cross.
B
You
make
sure
they
are
available
to
this
community,
and
that
was
a
theme
that
has
carried
on
since
that
day
and
before
he
left
to
head
off
to
Washington.
He
said
to
me:
Madeline,
you
make
sure
that
the
city
and
community
of
san
bruno
continue
to
have
all
of
the
resources
that
the
Red
Cross
has
available
to
help
in
their
recovery
and
building
their
resiliency.
So
I.
