A
Item
he
adopt
resolution
authorizing
the
city
manager
and
execute
construction
contract
with
Tucker
engineering
for
the
Rosewood
Madison
slope
stabilization
project
in
the
amount
of
three
hundred
forty
one
thousand
fifty
dollars.
Ninety
six
cents
and
approving
construction
budget
and
amount
of
395
thousand
mr.
David.
B
Honorable
mayor
and
council,
thank
you
very
much
tonight
and
before
you
to
recommend
a
ward
of
a
construction
contract
for
grading
restoration
behind
properties
on
Madison
on
the
screen
is
a
location
plan
that
shows
the
work
that's
proposed.
The
work
will
take
place
on
a
city-owned
parcel,
that's
completely,
surrounded
by
other
private
properties.
All
the
work
will
be
on
city's
property,
but
we
do
have
access
agreements
with
adjacent
property
owners
so
that
we
can
do
the
work.
B
We
went
through
the
bid
process
and
prepared
plans
and
specs
and
went
out
to
bid,
and
we
had
a
good
response.
We
had
nine
bidders
who
sitted
submitted
proposals.
The
low
bid
was
submitted
by
Tucker
engineering
for
three
hundred
and
forty-one
thousand
dollars.
That
is
much
below
our
engineers
estimate.
We
actually
had
a
very
large
spread
between
the
bidders
from
340,000
up
to
almost
nine
hundred
thousand
dollars,
but
we
had
several
bidders
that
were
in
the
low
range
below
our
engineers
estimate
again.
B
What
we're
seeing
in
the
current
construction
economy
is,
there
are
individuals
out
there
who
are
submitting
very
competitive
bids.
This
project,
as
I
said,
would
involve
the
removal
of
material.
That's
been
deemed
as
unstable
insulation
of
grading
or
of
drainage
improvements,
replacement
of
the
soil
with
site,
with
strengthening
in
their
totally
compacting
and
hopefully
solving
the
weakness
that
we
have
discovered
at
this
location.
The
project
has
a
duration
of
45
calendar
days.
B
As
far
as
the
project
funding
the
CIP
appropriated,
eight
hundred
and
seventy
two
thousand
dollars
for
construction
and
the
project
plus
contingencies,
a
15-percent
would
be
three
hundred
and
ninety-five
thousand
dollars
so
well
within
our
budget,
and
this
project
is
fully
funded
from
the
storm
drain
capital
fund
and
that
the
source
of
revenue
is
strong
during
assessments
that
are
collected
on
the
property
taxes
by
the
residents
of
the
city
and
with
that.
That
concludes
my
presentation,
but
I'm
available
to
answer
any
questions.
You
may
have
questions.
C
D
Stone
with
this
project,
how
Steve
indicated
will
be
funded
from
the
storm
water
font
and
our
stone
for
stone
water
fund
balance
is
very
low,
and
this
project
was
included
in
our
capital
improvement
budget
based
on
the
available
estimated
as
at
that
time.
But
if
the
project
cost
will
be
less
a
recommendation
at
this
time
would
not
be
to
take
on
additional
project
but
to
consider
all
of
the
available
funding
as
part
of
our
stone
water
management
plan,
which
will
become
before
you
sometime
next
year
to
make
some
broader
policy
decision.
