mayor
and
council
members,
the
San
Mateo
union
high
school
district
will
be
renovating
three
of
its
swimming
pools
in
the
summer
and
fall,
and
they
have
approached
city
staff
with
requests
to
rent
san
bruno
pool
from
August
thirteenth
through
November
fifth,
in
keeping
with
staffs
goal
of
seeking
new
revenue
opportunities.
Where.

Bringing
this
item
before
council
this
evening,
the
rates
that
would
be
rented
to
the
who
would
be
used
in
the
rental
to
the
district
are
consistent
with
the
master
fee
schedule.
The
cost
would
be
sixty
dollars
per
hour
for
the
pool,
an
additional
twenty
dollars
per
hour
for
for
one
lifeguard
and
an
additional
three
hundred
thirty-six
dollars
per
week
to
cover
the
maintenance,
the
electrical
and
the
chemicals
during
those
periods.

In
addition
to
those
financial
benefits,
the
staff
will
be
able
to
program
the
pool
for
longer
during
the
season,
and
our
goal
is
to
be
able
to
program
it
at
times
when
the
high
school
district
is
not
using
the
facility
through
the
month
of
October.
That
would
be
done
with
with
with
some
lessons
on
specifically
on
Sundays.
Some
open
swim
times
on
Sundays
some
exercise
classes
during
the
week
when
the
school's
in
session,
and
so
those
would
be
the
somewhat
new
programs
to
us
at
this
point
in
time.

What
I
was
wondering
specifically
on
staff
report?
It
says
district
personnel
shall
be
responsible
for
opening
and
closing
the
facility,
including
doors
gates,
pool,
covers
and
locker
room,
deck
lights,
chemical
levels,
recording,
etc,
and
obviously
that
means
within
the
agreement
that
will
be
issuing
an
alarm
code
system
as
well
as
a
key
to
a
particular
percent
ative
of
the
school
district.

However,
but
we're
also
requiring
them
to
have
a
lifeguard
while
that
program
and
activity
is
occurring
so
I'm
trying
to
wonder
why
are
we
giving
another
entity
the
key,
the
alarm
system
we're
trusting
them
in
regards
to
the
covers
the
maintenance,
the
water
chemicals?
If
something
goes
wrong
and
someone
thinks
they
know
what
they're
doing
and
doesn't
and
all
of
a
sudden
there's
an
imbalance
in
the
chemicals
and
there's
a
reaction
to
the
participants
which
I've
seen
when
I
worked
at
parks
and
rec.
That
is
possible,
it
does
happen.

can
do
it
that
way,
as
well
as
have
the
guard
responsible
for
those
functions
other
than
the
pool
covers.
I
would
not
want
the
single
life
guard
to
be
responsible
for
removing
the
covers
and
installing
the
net.
We
would
request
of
the
teams
that
are
using
the
facility
at
least
the
first
team
of
the
day
in
the
last
team,
as
they
as
they
leave.

the
only
thing
too
is
obviously
if
something
goes
wrong
with
the
alarm
or
the
facilities
and
locked
securely
alarm
goes
off.
We're
now
having
a
call
out
of
believe
vac.
My
days,
it
was
a
two
hour
call
out
for
a
person
to
respond
which
obviously
isn't
in
the
fee
structure
unless
we're
building
back
the
district
and
then,
unless
the
pulls
covers,
have
gotten
much
better
you're
right.
One
person
can't
do
it
alone.
It
does
require
to
at
least
back
in
my
day,
but
things
have
improved
since
then
greatly.

that
there

uproar
in
the
county
about
the
high
school
district,
wanting
to
or
actually
renegotiating
service
use
fees
for
various
properties
throughout

district?

done,

so
we
can
have
a
nice.

relationship
with
cappuccino,
high
school,
or
is
there
going
to
be
issues
coming
now?

pick
like
crest
Mora,
you
know
like
old,
crestmore,
high
school
site
or
something
possibly
the.

Was
approximately
two
years
ago,
the
district
did
shift
from
more
of
a
joint
service
agreement,
format,
partnership
between
itself
and
the
individual
cities
that
that
house
campuses
to
a
fee
based
system
and
and
I
think
all
of
the
cities
involved
from
san
mateo
Burlingame
millbrae
in
san
bruno
now
have
these
in
place
in
their
master
fee
schedules
to
when,
when
district
uses,
those
facilities
where
before
it
was
more
of
a
shared
agreement.
Now
it
is
more
fee-based
all
of
the
fees
that
we
here
are
part
of
our
master
fee
schedule.
