Description
San Bruno City Council Meeting 11-24-09 10b. Traffic Calming on Crystal Springs at Donner
A
B
The
department
was
previously
before
you
and
the
console
already
approved
the
installation
of
a
traffic
stop
sign
and
the
intersection
of
Donner
and
crystal
spring.
The
purpose
of
the
purpose
and
the
goal
of
the
project
was
to
improve
safety
at
the
intersection
of
crystal
spring
and
honored,
and
also
to
calm
the
traffic
on
crystal
spring.
At
the
last
council
meeting,
the
city
council
referred
back
the
project
to
the
subcommittee
to
provide
the
subcommittee
with
a
design
opportunity
for
this
project.
B
The
subcommittee
and
the
neighborhood
was
provided
with
three
alternative
design.
One
was
with
traffic
circle
or
around
about.
However,
you
want
to
call
this
second
I
eternity
was
providing
instead
of
traffic
circle
basically
raised
median
on
crystal
spring,
with
the
intent
and
enhance
traffic
safety
at
the
intersection
between
ten
to
count
the
traffic
on
crystal
spring
approaching
crystal
pink
and
donard
intersection.
The
third
alternative
was
providing
a
free
right
turn
from
crystal
spring
to
Donner.
B
B
This
opportunity
was
over
was
overwhelmingly
supported
by
the
residents
and
the
subcommittee
provided
the
department,
the
department
direction
to
proceed
with
the
implementation
of
this
alternative.
The
estimated
cost
for
this
alternative
is
around
25
thousand
dollar
in
our
budget.
For
this
year
was
included.
B
The
design,
not
the
construction
for
this
project
was
based
on
the
fact
that,
as
you
recall,
during
a
prior
meeting,
you
approved
the
acceptance
of
a
lifeline
measure,
a
grant
funding
for
the
barrier
school
traffic
calming
project
will
be
available
that
funding
in
our
budget
to
implement
this
project
next,
this
budget
sure.
But
next
current,
are
you
it's
our
estimation
at
this
time
that
this
project
will
be
implemented
on
not
later
than
the
summer
of
next
year?
D
D
A
B
A
D
My
athletic,
my
other
question
is
that,
in
other
words,
also
some
desire
to
in
the
future
possibly
consider
the
the
median,
since
it
is
a
wide
wide
area
there
is
this
configuration
with
this
new
new
stripe
configuration?
Would
we
be
able
to
put
out
without
reconfiguring
be
able
to?
You
know
place
a
median
there
at
some
point
as.
B
B
A
much
stronger
light
will
be
installed
as
the
first
step
and
the
department
will
moniteur
f.
That
will
improve
the
safety
of
the
intersection
and
what
else
can
be
done?
Also,
the
port
department
is
assessing
the
possibility
to
three
in
those
theories,
little
bit
back
to
further
increase
the
efficiency
of
the
lighting
of
edit
intersection
and
to
really
improve
the
overall
safety
are.
That
means
the
intersection
during
night
time
to.
A
E
You
Clara
on
the
south
side
of
the
Crystal
Springs,
where
it
has
this
triangle
that
has
the
hash
marks
in
it
and
then
you
cross
the
intersection
and
then
there's
a
red
curve
and
then
there's
all
the
parking
corrected
it
is
there.
Is
there
a
reason
for
it
to
be
that
abrupt
I'm
just
wondering
as
you
come
down
crystal
springs
and
you
see
the
hash
marks
and
then
you
cross
the
intersection
and
then
there's
nothing
is
it?
Is
that
possible
or
is
it
advisable?
E
B
A
C
Often
so
everybody
believed
very
strongly
on
the
the
plan
that's
before
us
and
the
second
thing
is
the
residence
that
were.
There
were
also
very
mindful
of
the
cost
to
the
to
the
community,
and
that
was
on
their
mind
as
well,
and
they
wanted
something
that
was
reasonable,
cost
effective
but
also
took
care
of
the
problem.
And
if
there
was
a
concern
later
down
the
line,
they
knew
they
could
come
back
and
if
things
need
to
be
tweaked
a
little
bit.
C
So
I
was
very
happy
with
the
process
because
I
think
going
out
there
and
engaging
with
the
residents
and
all
of
us
seeing
things
one
way
with
which
is
before
us
was
very
enjoyable
and
a
pleasure
to
of
work
with,
as
we
did
this,
and
it
is
long
overdue
and
it
would
do
city
manager
Jackson.
Do
you
think
we
need
a
motion
or
is
it
just
okay
just
to
accept
her?
We
should
the
Reid
motion.
