Description
San Bruno City Council Meeting 11-24-09 11. Traffic and Safety Committee Report
B
Honorable
mayor
and
members
of
the
City
Council
and
members
of
the
general
public
I'm
here
to
give
the
traffic
safety
in
parking
committee
2009
annual
report
first
I'd
like
to
thank
all
the
other
committee
members,
Doris
maze
and
Saul-
is
here
as
well
as
Tom
Hamilton
for
all
their
support,
as
well
as
councilmember
Medina.
For
your
support.
We
appreciate
it
to
that.
2008
was
actually
really
busy
year
for
us
and
going
into
2009.
B
B
B
So,
whenever
quest
comes
now,
instead
of
just
doing
and
handling
that
request,
we're
kind
of
trying
to
think
a
little
bit
more
outside
the
box,
we
reviewed
recommended
traffic
calming
measures
on
fleetwood,
dr
from
the
northern
northerly
city
limit
to
crestwood
drive
to
enhance
traffic
safety
and
visibility.
These
included
additional
speed,
limit
signs,
centerline
and
Lane
edge
striping
and
additional
hatching
marked
markings
at
all
existing
crops
crosswalks,
as
well
as
refreshing
paint
and
crosswalks
Fleetwood's
kind
of
similar
to
crust
more.
B
B
B
We
reviewed
recommended
options
to
mitigate
substandard,
clear
sight,
distance
to
all
intersections
on
San
Antonio
Avenue
from
Sam
Foley
San
Felipe
to
st.
Alina
reviewed,
recommended
permit
new
time
limit,
no
parking
zones
on
san
mateo
avenue
between
Genevieve
and
Sullivan
avenues
on
Sundays
between
the
hours
of
7am
and
4am,
this
for
the
farmers
market,
and
then
we
reviewed
recommended
the
fire
department's
requests
for
new
red,
curbing
on
east
huntington
avenue
at
pacific
and
scott
avenues.
South
bayshore
circle
at
huntington,
avenue
and
east
bayshore
circle
added
at
atlantic
avenue
to
assist
improving
fire
apparatus
response
time.
B
And
then
this
is
really
what
we've
been
working
on.
The
currently
reviewing
the
goals
and
criteria
for
adopting
citywide
parking
request
for
red
no
curb
parking.
Basically,
when
we've
had
a
lot
of
requests
for
these
things,
so
we
wanted
to
implement
something
where
the
city
itself
could
address
these
and
the
staff
could
address
them.
So
it
didn't
have
to
come
in
front
of
you
guys.
So
once
you
guys
adopt
kind
of
our
recommendations,
it
red
curbing
20
minutes
own.
B
These
things
won't
have
to
come
in
front
of
you
and
the
staff
can
execute
review
it
pretty
quickly,
and
we
will
also
with
that
we're
putting
into
place
a
process
that.
So,
if
somebody
wants
to
appeal
it,
it
doesn't
come
in
front
of
you
guys.
It
comes
in
front
of
us
and
we
actually
agree
with
the
appeal.
We're
actually
then
going
to
have
the
city
spend
time
and
energy
on
it.
So
we're
actually
pretty
excited
about
this,
because
a
lot
of
the
requests
that
we
have
are
going
to
be
mitigated
in
an
ACCI.
B
You
know
when
people
want,
you
know
the
20-minute
zone
or
everything
else,
there's
actually
going
to
be
a
procedure
in
place
for
them.
That's
so
they
know
what
will
work
and
won't
work.
So
I'd
also
like
to
take
the
opportunity
to
thank
soul.
Wiener
for
his
12
years
of
service,
it
definitely
makes
the
meetings
of
interesting
if
he
does
bring
a
lot
of.
A
A
A
It's
been
a
real
important
function
and
I
think
in
the
last
couple
of
years,
we've
really
gotten
the
committee
running
in
a
direction
where
we're
getting
things
accomplished
and
there's
a
system
and
a
reason
for
why
we're
doing
things
and
so
I
applaud
the
work
that
you're
doing
on
the
red
curbing
and
those
routine
type
items
so
coming
on.
Let's
do
that.
Thank
you.
