Description
San Bruno City Council Meeting November 12, 2013
4b. Receive Grand Blvd. Initiative Award
A
The
next
presentation
has
received
a
Grand
Boulevard
initiative
award
for
the
city
of
San
Bruno's
transit
corridors
plan.
This
past
week,
the
city
of
San
brenda
was
presented
with
a
2013
Grand
Boulevard
initiative
award
for
San
Bruno
transit
corridors
plan.
The
award
was
presented
by
the
sponsors
of
the
Grand
Boulevard
initiative
to
recognize
plans
and
projects
on
the
El
Camino
Real
quarter
that
aligned
with
the
vision
and
guiding
principles
of
the
Grand
Boulevard
initiative
to
improve
the
performance,
safety
and
aesthetics
of
the
El
Camino
Real
corridor
between
San
Jose
and
San
Francisco.
A
The
San
Bruno
transit
quarters
plan
was
adopted
by
the
City
Council
in
February
of
this
year.
After
several
years
of
planning
and
community
engagement,
the
plan
expresses
the
community's
vision
for
the
future
of
San
Bruno
zki
street
quarters,
including
el
community
rial
and
san
mateo
avenue,
and
provides
a
foundation
for
building
that
future.
2014
is
the
city's
100
year
anniversary
and
we
are
excited
about
launching
the
next
phase
of
our
growth.
The
city
will
have
a
new
caltrain
station
opening
next
year
and
together
with
bart
station,
we
expect
great
opportunities
for
transit,
oriented
development.
A
On
behalf
of
the
city,
san
bruno
I'd
like
to
thank
the
Grand
Boulevard
initiative,
sponsors
for
the
award
and
look
forward
to
working
together
to
realize
this
exciting
transformation
to
our
community
and
our
region,
and
this
is
our
board,
so
I
received
it
on
behalf
of
the
city
just
last
week
in
the
city
of
Redwood.
City
would
do
a
lot
of
cities
last
week
anyway.
Thank
you
very
much
and
thank
you
to
the
current
and
previous
community
development
staff
working
so
very,
very
hard.
In
making
this
happen,
it
was
a
lost
me.
B
Unfortunately,
I
was
unable
to
attend
the
me
because
I
needed
to
get
out
of
town
after
that
election,
so
I
want
to
thank
the
mayor
for
attending
and
I
believe
Community
Development,
Director
I
not
have
been
prouder
of
this
city
for
what
we've
done
and
we
are
a
shiny
star
and
Grand
Boulevard
initiative
even
before
grand
boulevard
was
initiate.
So
what
we've
done
at
the
crossing
is
what
we've
done
at
san
fran.
