Description
San Bruno City Council Meeting 10-13-09 4a. BTF Awards
A
B
Good
evening,
everyone-
and
do
I
do
want
to
thank
everyone
for
coming
out
tonight.
It's
a
the
rain
has
stopped
a
little
bit,
but
it
still
takes
some
effort
to
come
out
when
it
the
weather's
like
this
before
I
start
with
the
presentations
themselves,
I'd
like
to
introduce
the
beautification
task
force
members
that
are
here
tonight.
They
help
the
city
with
all
the
work
that
they
do
with
the
beautification
task
force
were
the
people
who
organize
and
operate
Operation
Clean
Sweep.
We
do
the
beautification
Awards.
B
We
do
a
thing
called
city
lights
where
we
take
out
for
holiday
lights.
We
take
pictures
of
all
the
holiday
lights
and
put
them
on
for
a
presentation
and
all
sorts
of
other
things
like
that.
So
on.
My
left
here
is
Sally
Calvert.
This
is
Tammy
del
bene.
Sandy
Hadley,
Carolyn,
Livengood,
Melanie
Tobin's
there
and
they've
come
out
tonight
to
help
us
celebrate
all
the
efforts
that
you've
put
into
your
property,
so
I'd
like
to
give
them
a
hand.
They
work
very
hard
all
year.
B
What
we
some
people
have
asked
me
how
this
happens.
We
send
out
information,
there's
information,
our
city
website.
We
send
out
notices
to
people
that
were
having
the
beautification
awards
and
people
send
in
their
nomination,
so
you
may
have
been
nominated
by
your
neighbor,
a
friend,
a
beautification
Awards
member,
a
beautification
s.
First
member
anybody,
who's
seen
your
property
and
thought
it
was
worth
mentioning
and
worth
getting
an
award
for.
B
So
today,
we've
had
over
twenty
five
nominees
for
the
different
categories
that
we
have
and
what
we're
going
to
start
with
is
the
single
family,
residence,
and
this
is
it
the
next,
the
next
slide
kind
of
defines.
What
we
do
is
one
that
has
curb
appeal
that
adds
to
the
physical
appearance
and
well-being
of
the
neighborhood
and,
if
we're
going
to
run
through
the
first
15
or
so
properties,
these
were
properties
that
were
nominated.
B
B
468
m
7
11
m
568
cherry.
These
are
all
honorable
mentions
and
we
keep
these
in
here
to
let
people
know
what
your
competition
was
and
to
encourage
all
the
people
that
did
nominate
these
addresses
and
these
residents
to
continue
working
on
theirs.
So
we'd
like
to
explain
that
the
next
person
we're
going
to
talk
about
is
the
third
place
winner,
they'll
receive
a
nice
little.
Is
that
a
certificate
that
says?
B
A
B
B
B
B
B
The
next
the
next
address
in
that
quarter
category
is
140
shallow
drive.
This
is,
we
were
four.
We
were
fortunate
enough
to
have
a
before.
Can
you
do
one
more
before
picture,
and
then
you
can
see
the
after
picture
where
the
landscape
is
considerably
changed
and
altered
to
do
zero
escaping
so
you
come
up.
B
A
Just
want
to
mention
that
I
do
believe
in
doing
what
I
tell
other
people
to
do
and
that's
to
fix
up
your
place.
I
want
to
point
out.
I
live
up
in
Pacific
Heights
by
skyline.
It
usually
takes
a
heavy
beading
of
criticism
about
its
weather,
but
between
skyline
shining
and
my
house
I'm,
trying
to
make
it
shine
to
thank
you.
B
B
B
It
was
again
we
didn't
have
a
before
picture
of
this,
but
I.
If
you
remember
it,
it's
not
right
on
Jenna
Vaness
you
come
up
and
down
and
before
all
this
work
was
done
to
the
property.
There
was
nothing
in
front
except
some
lawn
and
kind
of
shabby
lon
at
that
and
you've
done
all
this
work,
and
we
really
really
appreciate
it.
Thanks
I
saw.
D
B
C
A
You
like
to
say,
I
was
just
telling
a
neighbor
that
when
we
bought
first
bought
the
house
I
was
so
embarrassed
by
the
way
it
looked
on
the
outside.
This
is
when
we
first
got
the
house
that
I
wouldn't
even
tell
my
parents
where
we
lived,
so
we
worked
on
it
for
a
long
long
time
and
I
wish.
My
husband
was
here
to
help
us
accept
this
award
but
accepted
both
of
us.
Thank
you.
A
C
A
B
We
have
one
more
award
and
I'm
extremely
happy
to
say
that
the
president
of
skyline
college
is
here
along
with
some
other
people
to
accept
this
award.
The
group
project
is
a
beautification
project
was
for
and
completed
by
a
group
of
people
in
our
organization
and
the
next
couple
of
pictures
you
can
see.
This
is
the
skyline
mural
that
was
completed
and
the
next
picture
shows
a
close-up.
E
Let
me
tell
you
a
little
bit
briefly
about
this
project.
First
of
all,
we
owe
thanks
to
the
community
members
who
contribute
to
the
skyline
president's
innovation
fund,
because
this
was
an
innovation
funded
project.
The
mural
represents
textile
samples
from
around
the
world
from
many
parts
of
the
world
that
are
represented
by
our
student
population.
E
The
work
was
built
and
painted
by
members
of
our
art
student
group
and
led
by
our
coordinator
of
the
gallery,
Paul
bridenbaugh.
He
wasn't
it
would
be
here
tonight
because
he's
teaching
but
I'm
so
glad
to
have
some
of
our
students
with
us,
as
well
as
sandy
erber,
our
director
of
marketing
development
PR,
we're
very
very
pleased
to
receive
this
award.
We're
excited
about
the
mural
and
thanks
so
much
for
the
recognition.
D
He's
not
the
oldest,
but
in
the
art,
our
range
and
across
you
know,
across
the
diversity
group,
and
while
we
did
the
mural,
what
we
thought
was
just
something
for
our
class
to
do.
A
project
ended
up
being
such
a
community
piece.
Everyone
who
walked
by
had
something
positive
to
say
or
picked
up
a
brush
just
for
even
a
moment,
and
just
having
that
moment
of
one
little
piece
or
one
little
color
on
there.
B
This
just
about
concludes
our
presentation.
I
would
like
to
thank
Vicky,
Shay
and
Carol
Bonner,
who
are
our
city,
clerk
and
assistant
city
clerk.
They
do
all
the
grunt
work
they
put
the
cookies
out
and
make
the
coffee
and
do
the
plaques
and
make
sure
we
sign
everything
and
get
everything
together.
So
I'd
like
to
give
them
a
round
of
applause
as
well.
B
A
A
A
C
Behalf
of
her
colleagues
I
just
like
to
congratulate
again
13
years
to
councilmember
Irene
O'connell.
It
was.
It
was
a
dream
at
one
point,
and
now
it's
grown
in
to
be
a
you
know,
a
legacy,
a
very
good
City
tradition
and
we're
proud
to
see
it
and
very
proud
that
you
you
brought
it
forward.
Thank
you.
Thank.
