Description
San Bruno City Council Meeting October 12, 2010 9. Public Comment
A
We
do
have
public
comment
and
items
not
in
the
agenda.
Item
number
nine.
It
is
the
council's
policy.
Refer
matters
raising
this
forum
to
staff
for
investigation
interaction
where
appropriate.
The
Brown
Act
prohibits
the
council
from
discussing
or
active
on
any
matter,
not
agendized
pursuant
to
state
law.
B
Fleetwood,
dr
I'd
like
to
see
an
item
on
the
agenda
for
the
next
city
council
meeting
to
have
a
report
on
the
improvements
made
to
fleetwood,
dr
as
a
result
of
the
extensive
study
of
for
calm
traffic
calming
on
that
road
I'd
like
to
see
a
report
on.
What's
what's
been
done
to
execute
the
approved
recommendations,
if
that's
at
all
possible.
Okay
item
number
two
I
think:
if
we
get
started
right
now,
we
can
get
some
lines
and
arrows
pointed
painted
she'll
be
painted
at
around
the
tanforan
shopping
center.
B
Now,
as
we
approach
the
problem
of
painting
the
lines
in
the
arrows,
one
of
the
problems
is
the
fact
that
they're,
not
the
lines,
aren't
clear
enough
for
people
to
see
which
lane
they
should
be
in
and
what
areas
they
should
be
in
and
there's
there's
a
chance
that
cars
will
merge.
For
example,
if
you
come
from
the
bart
station
and
you
come
from
the
post
office
and
you
come
up
sneath
lane,
you
can
get
mixed
up
because
those
lines
are
not
visible
there
at
all.
B
That's
just
one
example
and
I
would
like
to
stress
that
somebody
looks
at
this
situation
at
night.
Not
just
during
the
day.
Can
you
see
these
lines
and
striping?
Can
you
see
them
at
night?
You
know
that
shopping
center
is
open
till
we
open
till
eleven
o'clock
gets
dark
around
six.
So
that's
a
lot
of
hours
that
the
people
will
be
driving
around
there
and
we
want
to,
of
course,
impress
people
with
how
safety-conscious
we
are
at
San
Bruno.
Thank
you.
Thank.
C
I
get
evening,
I'm
Jennifer
rotten,
and
this
is
holly.
We
cow
and
September
25th
Holly
and
I'm
halia
myself
held
a
rally
for
San
Bruno
at
the
san
berdo
rec
center.
This
was
a
day
of
family
and
friends
and
for
a
badly
bruised
community
to
come
together.
For
one
reason,
that
reason
was
the
glenview
by
our
victims.
This
is
a
much-needed
day
and
we
were
honored
to
be
a
part
of
it.
C
Holly
and
I
had
originally
had
this
fundraiser
in
place
to
raise
money
for
the
brain
tumor
foundation,
and
in
light
of
what
happened,
we
knew
it
was
important
to
switch
our
focus
and
the
drive
behind
the
change
was
our
friend
Mariana
Tandy
and
my
mother.
Should
we
oughtn't
who
both
passed
away
from
this
terrible
disease?
C
We
like
to
say
a
quick
thank
you
to
a
few
people
who
are
the
reason
we
were
able
to
put
this
amazing
event
together,
our
main
sponsor
who
was
dog
Pecos
in
the
rib
shack
san
bruno
Lions,
Club,
Celia's
in
san
bruno
DJ,
jimmy
stewart,
stewart,
thomas
john
catering
and
the
many
family
and
friends
who
led
to
hand
her
to,
and
we
definitely
can't
forget
to
thank
Danielle,
Brewer
and
Randy
Schwartz
who,
without
their
help
end
of
this,
would
have
been
able
to
happen
and,
of
course,
idiot.
The
City
Council.
D
So
I
just
wanted
to
say
a
little
piece.
I
was
born
and
raised
up
there
at
17,
10
Claremont
or
at
once
stood
till
I
was
20
years
old.
The
rally
was
not
just
a
way
for
us
raise
money
for
the
victims,
but
for
people
like
me
to
see
their
lifelong
friends
and
neighbors
and
join
afternoon
after
a
devastated
devastation
and
heartache
that
they
endured.
We
succeeded
in
both
I
saw
smiles
on
so
many
familiar
faces
that
it
was
worth
more
than
any
money
in
the
world.
D
D
A
plan
for
new
life,
new
growth
or
the
tot
land
park
once
stood
when
maybe
help
signify
the
move
forward
and
help
make
the
memory
more
tolerable,
as
people
drive
by
where
the
devil
asian
originated
I
hope
one
day
to
see
a
new
park
and
know
these
wonderful
volunteers
and
myself
helps
contribute
to
rebuild.
Thank
you
again
to
all
of
our
sponsors
in
Danielle
and
Randy.
Thank
you
very
much
and
too
many
are
many
volunteers
for
helping
us
out
with
such
a
big
success.
Thank
you.
E
E
We
are
planning
to
more
benefits
in
the
near
future,
one
within
the
next
six
months
and
one
more
on
the
anniversary,
so
we're
hoping
with
the
city
support.
We
can
make
a
bigger
success
Karina's
event,
even
though
she
held
it
the
sunday
after
the
fire
she
actually
raised
over
ten
thousand
dollars.
So
I
was
really
exciting
in
four
days.
A
Well,
as
you
can
all
see,
there's
a
lot
of
stuff
happening
in
San
Bruno,
and
it's
going
to
continue
to
happen.
Sort
of
overwhelming
can't
say
enough.
Just
thank
you.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
This
is
still
public
comment.
Anybody
in
PG&E
is
here
they're
not
on
the
agenda.
Would
you
like
to
ask
any
questions
of
them?
Anyone.
F
F
G
Good
evening
I'm
Kirk
Johnson
I'm,
the
vice
president
of
gas
transmission
and
distribution
for
pge
in
terms
of
the
line
that
is
in
place
right
now.
It
is
a
in
active
at
this
point
in
time.
Pg&Amp;E
is
continuing
to
study
what
it
will
take
to
operate.
Our
system
missing
a
significant
segment
of
the
pipeline
that
feeds
all
of
the
peninsula,
which
includes
san
mateo,
county
san
francisco
county
and
the
northern
reaches
of
santa
clara
county
combined.
G
It
is
one
inclusive
system,
and
we
will
continue
to
study
that
and
report
that
out
to
the
CPUC
we've
completed
that
activity
and
also
work
with
the
city
of
san
bruno
in
terms
of
any
activities
taking
place
going
forward.
We
are
completing
some
construction
as
we
speak,
trying
to
improve
the
system
with
crossed
eyes,
and
you
may
see
some
of
that
work
in
the
city
of
san
bruno,
going
on
in
the
next
two
weeks.
H
G
H
A
G
They
are
the
party
that
requested
that
we
lower
the
pressure
in
line
132,
which
is
a
lifeline
that
ruptured
down
by
twenty
percent
and
that's
having
a
significant
that
will
have
a
significant
impact
on
our
ability
to
deliver
gas
during
the
winter
time
to
customers
throughout
santa
clara
county
san
mateo
county
of
san
francisco
county,
and
we
will
share
the
findings
out
with
the
city.
Also.
H
I
Merrick
I,
my
staff
has
received
some
questions
that
I
think
might
benefit
for
the
viewing
public
to
hearing
your
answer
directly
about
the
work
that
is
currently
going
on
with
in
san
bruno
appears
to
be
related
to
the
existing
transmission
lines,
particularly
in
the
Glen
View
neighborhood,
as
well
as
along
san
bruno
avenue.
That.
G
There's
actually
two
pieces
of
work
that
PG&E
is
involved
with
on
the
pipeline
system.
The
first
is
building
cross
ties,
but
your
links
that
link
to
two
of
the
pipelines
or
the
three
pipelines
that
operate
through
san
bruno
together,
so
that
we
can
further
reduce
the
pressure
drop
from
having
a
segment
of
pipeline
out
of
service.
That's
been
going
on
for
the
last
two
weeks
and
that
will
be
getting
completed
towards
the
end
of
this
week
and
actually
some
work
will
happen
during
the
weekend.
G
I'm
COC
construction,
crews
out
on
skyline
and
potentially
some
other
areas
conducting
that
type
before
the
other
work.
That
you're
saying
throughout
the
city
of
San,
Bruno
and
actually
I've
been
down.
The
entire
Peninsula,
but
obviously
focused
in
san
bruno
is
some
work
that
we
work
with
the
CPUC
on
to
ensure
the
pipeline
system.
That's
currently
in
place
is
still
safe.
That
is
oftentimes
referred
to
as
a
external
direct
corrosion
assessment
and
that's
the
kind
of
work
that's
happening.
Folks
are
working
in
the
streets.
G
It's
a
subcontractor
called
Mears
they're
experts
in
this
activity,
they're
working
through
the
evening
and
sometimes
during
the
day,
and
their
purpose
is
to
ensure
that
that
pipeline
from
external
corrosion
perspective
is
its
integrity
is
intact.
We
have
operated
and
done
this
testing
in
the
past,
but
we're
doing
it
again
to
make
sure
that
that
pipeline
and
all
the
pipelines
throughout
San
Bruno
and
the
potential
are
safe.
A
G
One
of
them
is
called
line
132,
that's
the
line
of
ruptured
and
there's
another
pipeline
called
line
109
and
those
two
split
off
right
around
highway
35
and
take
different
crossings
line
132
the
separatist
section
that
ruptured
was
built
in
about
nineteen
forty
eight
and
it
was
relocated
due
to
the
building
of
homes
in
1956
line.
109
took
a
different
route
up
through
skyline
and
passed
over
an
earthquake
fault
and
therefore
had
to
be
rerouted
in
1995.
So
those
are
two
separate
lines:
they
operated
the
same
pressure.
G
H
H
A
I
D
One
more
thing
that
we
almost
forgot
a
good
friend
and
samer
no
resident
anastasia
java
noni
made
this
quilt
that
she
would
like
to
give
to
the
city
of
san
bruno
to
hang
somewhere,
maybe
the
library
or
the
city
hall.
She
spent
a
lot
of
time
on
it
and
it
says
we
were
a
city
with
one
purpose
in
that
moment
to
help
each
other,
nine,
nine
ten.
So.
