Description
San Bruno City Council Meeting October 12, 2010 4. Presentations
A
We
have
a
a
couple
of
presentations.
The
first
one
I'd
like
to
do
is
a
press
president
of
proclamation
recognizing
October
16
2010
is
Arbor
Day
in
the
city
of
San
Bruno
and
there's
lots
of,
whereas
is
here,
but
they
won't
take
very
long
and
1872
J
sterling
Morton
proposed
to
the
Nebraska
Board
of
Agriculture
that
a
special
day
be
set
aside
for
the
planting
of
trees
and
this
holiday
called.
A
Our
bday
was
first
observed
with
the
planting
of
more
than
a
million
trees
in
Nebraska,
and
our
bday
is
now
observed
throughout
the
nation
in
the
world
and
trees
can
reduce
the
erosion
of
our
precious
tops
all
by
wind
and
water,
reduce
heating,
&
cooling
costs,
moderate
the
temperature
clean
the
air
produce
oxygen
and
provide
habitat
for
wildlife
and
trees
in
the
city
of
Santa.
Brunner
contribute
to
increase
property
values,
enhance
the
economic
vitality
of
business
areas
and
beautify.
A
Our
community
and
trees
are
a
source
of
joy
and
spiritual
renewal
wherever
they
are
planted,
and
whereas
this
year's
observance
and
celebration
will
feature
tree
planting
at
both
city
park
in
Buckeye
park.
Now,
therefore,
I
Jimmy
Wayne
mayor
city
of
San,
Bruno
good,
hereby
proclaim
October
16
2010,
as
Arbor
Day
in
the
city
of
San
Bruno,
can
I
urge
all
citizens
to
support
efforts
to
care
for
our
trees
and
woodlands
and
to
support
our
city's
community
forestry
program.
I'd
like
to
present
this
to
Randy
Schwartz,
our
director.
A
A
C
Thank
You
mr.
mayor
and
council
members
on
October
sixteenth
on
Saturday
people,
you
can
go
to
the
parks
yard,
there
will
be
a
ceremony
at
parks
yard
and
then
we
will
be
doing
two
tree
plantings,
we'll
be
planting
some
trees
in
city
park,
as
well
as
over
a
Buckeye,
and
there
are
scout
groups.
Individual
families
that
have
been
invited
have
been
asking
about
this,
and
so
we
will
be
doing
tree
plantings
of
both
locations.
C
A
D
Good
evening,
mr.
mayor
honorable,
council,
members,
city
staff,
I'm
dean
peterson,
the
director
of
environmental
health
of
san
mateo
county
and
on
behalf
of
San
Mateo,
County,
Cal,
recycles
and
all
the
state
agencies
we'd
like
to
present
to
you.
The
golden
shovel
is
used
today
by
the
Honorable
mayor
and
miss
Jackson
to
remove
the
last
of
the
debris
on
the
properties
up
at
glenview.
Thank
you
very
Mike
to
say
Godspeed
to
san
bruno
and
let
us
know
anything
that
we
can
do
to
help
out.
The
future
shape
city
manager
would.
A
We
were
pleased
to
be
there
this
afternoon.
35
of
the
35
lots
are
completely
cleaned
out.
Erosion
control
is
taking
place,
siding
will
be
taking
place
later
this
week
and
trees
will
start
to
be
removed
in
the
canyon
area,
I
think
about
thursday.
So
it's
starting
to
look
like
an
area
that
hey
you
got
some
land.
Can
you
build
and
hopefully
that's
what
we're
going
to
do
sooner
than
later
and
the
final
presentation
tonight
it
this
is.
This
is
great.
A
The
San
Francisco
Giants
will
present
it
check
as
a
donation
for
the
benefit
of
the
glenview
fire
victims
and
I.
Just
have
a
couple
of
things
to
say
so
you
have
the
San
Francisco
Giants
in
the
middle
of
this
huge,
huge
race
for
the
West
right,
and
what
do
they
do
before
they
play
the
Dodgers.
They
say,
San
Bruno
really
got
got
hit
very,
very
badly
tragedy
and
we're
going
to
give
three
dollars
of
every
ticket
to
a
Dodger
game
to
the
san
bruno
fire
glenview
fire
relief
fund.
A
So
they
do
that
and
of
course
they
they
win,
and
so
then
they
they
decided
to
donate
that.
So
then,
what
do
they
do?
They
win
the
west
alright,
and
then
they
have
to
beat
the
Braves
and
the
first
braves
game
was
last
Thursday
evening
and
who
did
they
call?
They
call
a
firefighter
a
dispatcher,
a
police
officer,
the
mayor
and
two
individuals
that
were
heroic
and
saving
some
some
elderly,
ladies
from
a
rest
home,
and
they
asked
us
to
throw
out
the
first
pitch
and
they
win
the
game.
So
this
is
a
great
thing.
A
E
E
Am
joined,
I
first
would
like
I'm
Shayna
Dom
from
the
San
Francisco
Giants
and
I
am
joined
by
three
of
my
colleagues,
who
are
san
bruno
residents,
Carolyn
euros,
David,
Fujita
and
Sam
Michael.
Mr.
mayor
vice
mayor
mayor
and
members
of
the
City
Council
on
behalf
of
the
National
League
West
champion
San
Francisco
Giants,
now
headed
to
the
NLCS
I'm
starting
on
Saturday.
E
It
is
our
honor
to
present
to
you
from
not
only
the
Giants,
but
the
Giants
community
fund,
which
I
know,
has
an
active
junior
Giants
program
here
in
san
bruno,
our
fans
and
our
front
office
staff,
a
number
of
checks,
totaling,
119
thousand
eight
hundred
and
sixty
six
dollars
and
ninety
seven
cents.
They
are
all
here
in
this
envelope.
E
We
have
obviously
all
been
touched
by
the
tragic
events
experienced
by
the
residents
of
San
Bruno.
Please
know
that
the
victims,
the
survivors,
the
emergency
service
responders
and
the
entire
community
have
been
in
our
thoughts
and
prayers,
and
we
are
here
to
lend
support
as
you
work
to
heal,
recover
and
rebuild,
and
we
hope
that
this
money
will
assist
you
in
doing
that.
You're.
