Description
San Bruno City Council Meeting 09-22-09 4. 30 Year Anniversary Service Award
A
This
evening
we
have
I
have
an
honor
that
you
don't
have
every
day
and
I'm
very
pleased
to
recognize
and
make
a
presentation
of
a
30
years
anniversary
service
pin
to
parks
and
facilities
manager.
Steve
Freitas
steve
was
originally
hired
in
on
September,
eighteen
nineteen,
seventy
nine
as
a
maintenance
worker
to
he
was
promoted
within
the
parks,
division
to
field
manager,
field
supervisor
before
transferring
to
the
building
division
where
he
served
as
a
building
inspector
for
a
couple
of
years,
steve
was
promoted
to
his
current
position
of
parks
and
facilities
manager.
A
A
If
he
doesn't
know
the
answer
and
if
Steve
does
it
it's
going
to
be
done
right,
he
has
true
pride
of
ownership
and
really
takes
responsibility
for
the
job,
and
we
really
appreciate
that
and
it's
my
pleasure
to
present
this
to
you
Steve
and
reach
over
here
and
knology,
introduce
your
family.
That's
here
with
you
today,.
B
B
B
Wife
and
daughter
for
putting
up
for
with
all
those
years
and
all
those
call
outs
and
all
that
overtime,
but
I
enjoyed
my
time.
My
30
years,
everybody
around
me,
makes
me
what
I
am
and
I
try
to
do.
The
best
and
I
thank
the
community
for
giving
me
30
years
of
this
opportunity
to
employ
me
and
I
thank
the
management
and
the
council,
and
especially
my
co-workers
and
my
staff,
because
they
make
me
who
I
am
every
day
so
and
I
really
enjoy
working
here
and
I.
Don't
think
I'll
be
here
for
35
years.
B
C
C
The
reason
is
taking
up
that
much
space
is
we
have
lots
of
combinations
from
staff
over
the
last
30
years,
directors
in
the
department,
city,
managers,
etc:
lots
of
certificates
from
college
courses,
certificates
from
as
building
inspector,
etc,
and
when
this
160
pound
I'm
not
probably
shouldn't,
say
that.
But
since
it
was
listen
on
his
original.
C
That
160-pound
kid
did
apply
for
the
city
what
he
wrote
on
their
the
reason
he
wanted
to
wanted
the
job
he
wrote.
I
would
like
to
make
this
line
of
work.
My
career
steve
has
certainly
achieved
that
this
has
been
a
wonderful
career,
I've
known
Steve,
very
briefly,
I've
known
as
wife
and
daughter,
much
longer
and
she's,
not
in
yet
hello
Christina.
C
C
In
the
morning,
the
banner
advertising,
the
things
was
already
up
in
place
and
that's
the
kind
of
work
and
that
that
Steve
shows,
but
also
that
he
exhibits
to
his
entire
crew
and
as
the
person
who's
in
charge
of
our
trees,
our
city
parks,
our
city,
buildings,
I,
think
the
city
is
extremely
lucky
to
have
him.
Add
him
for
30
years.
Congratulations,
Steve,.
D
Really
chair,
no
I
wouldn't
speak,
but
only
because
of
the
relationship
of
working,
also
in
past,
at
the
Parks
and
Rec
Department
and
knowing
Steve
for
many
years
before,
during
and
after
and
his
willingness,
and
continue
to
help,
whether
at
me,
at
City
Hall
as
a
councilman,
with
the
alarm
going
off.
Helping
me
out
to
when
I
had
to
ask
for
some
volunteer
at
the
parks
division
to
come
out
during
a
storm
Steve
answered,
the
phone
Steve
would
respond.
Steve
knows
where
everything
is
and
how
everything
works.
D
His
loyalty
and
dedication
to
the
town
he's
called
home
and
to
the
hours
of
volunteer
service
that
he's
given
in
various
capacities
over
the
many
years
makes
it
more
than
just
an
employee
and
more
than
just
a
resident
of
this
town
he's
a
good
man
with
a
great
heart
who
cares
deeply
for
what
he
does
and
it
shows
every
day
in
his
work
and
for
the
past
30
years.
Thank
you.
Steve.
