Description
San Bruno City Council Meeting September 24, 2013
10c. Scott Street Grade Separation Project
A
B
After
the
development
of
that
study
back
in
2005,
due
to
funding
limitation
and
based
on
safety
or
accident
history,
this
project
was
limited
to
only
three
great
separation
crossing
for
Angus,
san
mateo
and
san
bruno
and,
as
you
know
very
well,
that
project
is
underway
and
hopefully,
by
the
end
of
this
year.
Early
next
year
will
be
finalized
back
in
2005.
B
B
South
San
Francisco
is
very
interested
to
apply
and
to
consider
great
separating
south
linden
crossing
based
on
their
safety
concern
and
with
the
intent
to
improve
safety
and
crossing
time.
Frankly,
at
that
location
was
interested
to
apply
for
this
grant.
Opportunity
based
on
the
discussion
between
the
two
entity
was
considered
as
a
good
opportunity
to
apply
jointly
than
both
agencies
are
at
the
table
to
discuss
all
of
the
possible
alternatives
for
great
separating
boat
crossings.
B
That's
the
reason
why
the
city,
jointly
with
South
City,
apply
for
this
grant
opportunities.
These
grants
will
be
addressed
in
the
next
one
hour
two
months
and
is
the
intent
of
San
Mateo
County
Transit
Authority,
to
propose
grant
award
in
November
to
that
board.
If
you
have
any
question,
I
would
be
happy
to
respond
any.
A
Questions
of
staff
can
clara.
We
spoke
about
this
earlier,
and
one
thing
is
through
the
last
10
years.
There
was
talk
about
Scott
and
one
and
I
believe
American
also
comment.
One
of
the
conditions
of
the
great
separation.
That's
under
construction
now
was
that
eventually
they
would
close
Scott.
So
is
that
not
an
issue
right
now
that
is
now
transferred
over
to
a
study
between
Scott
and
south
linden.
B
B
Certainly,
this
is
included
as
the
scope
of
the
project,
depending
on
the
sole
sense.
Those
studies
were
developed
back
before
two
thousand
five
or
during
that
time
the
assumptions
were
different.
Now
the
assumptions
with
the
high
speed
rail
is
changing.
You
have
now
everybody's
talking
only
just
about
the
blended
alternative
for
the
high
speed,
which
certainly
is
not
requiring
four
lanes
will
require,
probably
only
just
so-called
passing
lanes
or
tracks,
which
would
add
in
certain
location,
one
more
possible
track
based
on
the
available
study.
B
B
A
It's
my
concern
and
taught
the
soon
manager,
but
we're
we're
nearing
the
end
of
this
project,
and
then
we
still
get
a
few
curveballs
along
the
way,
whether
it's
parking,
whether
it's
whatever
and
I'm,
just
afraid
and
I,
don't
know
if
we
should
talk
it
out
loud
like
this,
but
is
there
a?
Is
there
still
an
opportunity
for
the
jpv
to
come
and
say
we're
going
to
make
good
on
what
was
decided,
the
condition
to
close
cotton
scott
street
yeah,
or
is
that
or
is
that
off
the
table
now?
Because
we're
involved
in
a
study.
B
B
Create
the
assumption
of
closing
Scott
and
keeping
it
open
for
pedestrian
only
another
project.
Another
investment
would
need
to
happen
from
JP,
be
your
TA
or
some
other
investment
or
follower
project.
We
need
to
follow
this
project,
then
this
could
be
the
first
phase
for
whatever
will
happen
later
on,
but
the
discussion
will
will
happen
in
the
same
time.
What
is
visible
on
south
linden,
then
how
or
what
is
the
best
solution
for
Scott?
B
Certainly
they
are
aware-
and
the
city
expressed
or
lack
of
interest-
and
you
expressed
here
many
times
to
JP-
be
that
the
series
not
interested
right
now
in
is
not
anxious
to
have
on
any
other
great
separation
project
or
a
follower
project
or
residence
suffered
enough
through
this
last
few
years.
But
I
think
this
is
a
opportunity
to
make
sure
that,
even
if
you
not
happen
in
a
short
timeframe,
steel
will
be
the
best
solution
for
the
city
contemplated
dad's,
location.
