Description
San Bruno City Council Meeting January 28, 2014
10h. Decorative Lighting on San Mateo and Jenevein Avenues
B
Mr.
Merriman
counsel,
the
city
has,
for
the
first
time
in
at
least
a
number
of
years
during
the
recent
holiday
season,
achieved
a
opportunity
that
has
been
a
strong
interest
to
residents
and
some
council
members
alike
over
the
past
number
of
years,
and
that
is
to
provide
a
decorative
lighting
in
the
downtown
area
during
the
holiday
season.
Again.
This
is
something
that
had
been
identified
as
a
an
interest
of
numbers
of
residents
of
the
community
suggested
by
persons
participating
with
the
Chamber
of
Commerce
and
others.
B
It's
unfortunately
proved
to
be
not
a
simple
item
and
required
the
installation
of
new
electrical
connection
boxes
at
each
of
the
locations
where
lights
would
be
provided
we
initially
looked
at
whether
lights
could
be
provided
on
the
trees
that
are
currently
growing
in
pots
along
the
frontage
of
along
the
sidewalks
of
san
mateo
avenue
and
determined
that
a
more
viable
option
might
be
to
and
work
more
to
provide
a
more
structurally
sound
installation
that
lights
could
be
installed
and
by
wrapping
on
to
the
streetlight
poles
that
exist
along.
This
is
the
street
frontage.
C
Dugem,
obviously
it's
up,
and
it
was
a
surprise
to
me
driving
by,
but
I
will
tell
you
speaking
to
a
merchant
just
a
couple
days
ago,
that
owns
the
business
there,
the
due
to
them
being
white.
It
doesn't
give
the
appearance
of
just
Christmas
love
the
holiday,
and
so
therefore
I
know
he
was
very
much
in
favor
of
maintaining
them
and
keeping
them
going
and
I.
Think
if,
as
little
as
we
do
brings
a
little
light
to
downtown
San,
Mateo,
Avenue
I
think
for
now
we
go
forward
with
it.
C
D
Rico
seventh
Avenue,
I'm
in
favor,
but
I've,
heard
from
a
number
of
residents
that
they
hope
that
the
city
would
continue
that
as
a
year-round
and
I
think
I
can
also
speak
at
my
position
on
the
chamber.
Commerce,
I
think
it's
a
it,
helps
the
chamber
to
just
show
that
the
city
is
a
more
responsive
and
it
makes
it
look
more
professional
and
much
nicer,
so
I
would
hope
you
would
agree
to
find
the
funds
to
keep
it
up
year
round.
Anyone.
A
E
Yep,
thank
you.
I
think
this
is
one
of
those
easy
ones
who
are.
We
all
agree.
I
I
thought
it
was
delightful
and
it
looks
great,
especially
since
this
is
our
centennial
year.
I
think
we
should
like
to
place
up
so
I
would
/
me
you're
gonna,
go
you
go
right
as
democracy
cut
about
any
way
you
wish,
but
I'd
like
to
I
almost
direction.
