From YouTube: Make a Paper Marigold for Día de los Muertos
Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
A
A
Today
we
will
be
making
paper
marigolds,
also
known
as
cempasuchita.
You
might
make
these
marigolds
to
place
on
your
ofrenda,
the
area
you
set
up
to
remember
and
honor.
The
memory
of
your
ancestors
family
members
and
other
people
who
are
important
to
you,
who
have
passed
the
marigold,
bright,
color
and
sharp
smell
are
thought
to
bring
their
spirits
into
your
home.
Then
on
your
ofrenda.
They
may
see
their
pictures,
food
they
loved
and
other
remembrances.
A
If
you
picked
up
a
kit
from
the
library,
you
have
everything
you
need,
except
for
scissors.
If
you
did
not,
you
will
need
to
cut
anywhere
from
5
to
10
rectangles
of
tissue
paper,
all
the
same
size
and
have
a
pipe
cleaner
ready.
So
let's
get
started
you
can
see.
I
have
my
tissue
paper
here
and
it's
about
as
twice
as
long
as
it
is
wide.
So
one
way
to
check
that
is
to
go
like
this,
and
you
can
just
see
that
there's
a
lot
of
extra
here,
you
can
make
these
any
size
you
want.
A
A
A
Just
like
that,
okay,
so
we're
gonna,
take
it
in
the
center
and
you
can
take
a
pipe
cleaner,
that'll,
be
your
stem
and
you're
gonna.
Just
put
it
in
the
middle
with
some
sticking
up
here,
it
has
to
be
a
little
bit
longer
than
your
fold
is
wide,
so
you're
going
to
fold
it
over
like
this
and
you're
going
to
kind
of
scrunch
this
up
here
and
twist.
A
A
A
Which
makes
it
easy
to
pull
towards
you
and
then
in
a
minute
I'll
show
you
some
fancy
edgings.
You
can
do
instead,
so
you're
gonna
pull
each
layer.
A
A
A
And
this
technique
I
mean,
obviously
it
also
works
with
any
color
tissue
paper.
You
can
make
gradations
of
yellow
orange
and
red
to
represent
your
marigolds
or
you
can
use
different
colors
for
different
times
and
it's
actually
amazingly
pretty.
So
that
is
the
marigold
that
is
with
a
plain
edge.
So
you
can
see
in
here.
We
have
one
right
here
with
a
plain
edge,
and
then
we
have
this
one
right
here
with
a
frill
edge
which
looks
a
little
bit
more
like
actual
marigold.
A
Here
and
so
I've
pre-folded
another
set
once
again,
it's
just
like
a
fan,
and
this
one
I
did.
I
wanted
red
on
the
outside
and
then
orange
and
then
yellow
in
the
center.
So
I'm
going
to
do
it
like
this,
I'm
going
to
put
the
part
I
want
in
the
center
pointing
up,
and
then
I'm
going
to
take
my
pipe,
cleaner
and
just
re
repeat
that
step
and
wrap
it
kind
of
mash
it
in
there
a
little
bit
and
twist
it
all
right.
A
A
So
the
one
that
really
looks
like
a
marigold-
or
you
know
if
you
make
it
out
of
pink,
it
really
looks
like
a
carnation,
is
a
fringe
here.
So
if
you
take
your
scissors
and
you
just
cut
parallel
to
the
folds
close
together,
but
not
too
close
together,
because
you
want
those
folds
to
stay
intact
and
then
this
one
is
just
a
little
bit
trickier
to
peel,
because
that's
those
edges
are
more
delicate.
So
you
can
see
what
that
looks
like,
and
I
will
pull
up
just
a
few
to
give
you
an
idea.
