What's Happening Around Town
March 2016
1st Draft
For the City of San Bruno
A
Hello
and
welcome
to
what's
happening
around
town,
I'm
your
host,
stephanie
chaves
spring
is
just
around
the
corner
and
there
are
plenty
of
activities
happening.
This
March
in
our
very
own
city
of
San
Bruno,
the
San
Bruno
police
department,
needs
your
help.
In
2015,
speeding
became
the
primary
cause
of
injury
collisions
within
the
city
limit.
A
As
a
result,
the
police
department
will
step
up
speed
enforcement
activity,
especially
on
the
major
arteries
like
san
bruno
avenue
and
El
Camino
Real,
the
overtime
and
regular
police
officer
patrol
hours
are
being
paid
using
grant
money
from
the
California
Office
of
Traffic
Safety.
The
average
cost
of
a
ticket
for
driving
15
miles
per
hour
over
the
speed
limit
is
bordered
a
dollar
not
including
the
cost
of
traffic
school
and
the
potential
increase
in
your
auto
insurance.
The
slides
he
added
cost
lives
are
at
stake.
A
It's
here
again,
one
of
the
biggest
events
for
the
city
of
San
Bruno,
the
Easter
egg
hunt
and
pancake
breakfast
on
Saturday
March
19
bring
your
entire
family
to
San
Bruno
city
park.
The
all-you-can-eat
pancake
breakfast
will
be
held
from
nine
to
eleven
a.m.
after
you
have
your
yummy
breakfast
enjoy
some
fun.
Children's
activities
from
10
to
11
a.m.
the
main
event
will
begin
at
eleven
o'clock:
sharp
an
Easter
egg
hunt
for
children,
ages,
1
to
8.
A
It's
a
whole
lot
of
fun
and
a
great
san
bruno
tradition,
so
don't
miss
the
Easter
egg
hunt
and
pancake
breakfast
held
on
Saturday
Marsh
19
at
San
Bruno
city
park.
The
Sun
is
starting
to
peek
out
from
behind
the
winter
clouds,
and
that
means
it's
time
to
sign
your
kids
up
for
some
outdoor
activities.
If
you
are
in
the
third
fourth
or
fifth
grade,
you
can
sign
up
to
play
in
the
kickball
league
and
if
you're
in
the
sixth
grade,
the
Recreation
Department
is
offering
badminton
call
track
and
field
and
tennis
leagues.
A
If
you
are
interested
in
joining
any
of
these
fun
activities,
you
had
better
hurry,
as
the
deadline
to

up
is
Thursday
March
24th,
so

the

It's
extremely
important
that
we
take
care
of
our
environment
and
try
our
best
to
use
natural
products
for
the
health
of
our
families
and
ourselves,
but
how
exactly
should
be
driven
find
out
at
the
go

spring
is
here,
and
the
days
are
getting
longer
to
make
more
of
the
daylight
hours.
Daylight
savings
time
will
begin
on
Sunday
March
thirteenth
at
2am.
A
This
means
that
we
spring
my
own
or
in
one
hour
it
also
is
recommended
that
we
use
this
day
as
a
reminder
to
change
the
batteries
out
of
smoke,
alarms
and
carbon
monoxide
detectors.
If
you
regularly
change
the
batteries
every
six
months,
you
can
be
sure
that
these
life-saving
devices
will
work
and
keep
you
and
your
loved
ones
safe.
What
is
your
plan
for
a
fun
st.
Patrick's
Day?
A
If
your
idea
includes
visiting
the
local
pub
remember
to
find
a
way
home
that
does
not
include
driving
after
drinking
san
bruno
police
will
have
extra
DUI
officers
on
the
roads
looking
for
drunk
drivers
according
to
the
National
Highway
Traffic
Safety
Administration,
st.
Patrick's
Day
is
one
of
the
most
deadly
nights
of
the
year
due
to
drunk
drivers.
Recent
statistics
reveal
that
thirty
percent
of
drivers
and
fatal
crashes
had
one
or
more
drugs
in
their
system.
A
All
it
takes
us
a
little
planning
designate
a
sober
driver
or
call
a
cab,
but
whatever
you
do
don't
drink
and
drive
and
remember
that
buzzed
driving
is
drunk
driving
well
that
just
about
wraps
up
this
edition
of
what's
happening
around
town
from
March
2016.
I'm
your
host
definitely
sevice.
Thank
you
for
joining
me.
