What's Happening Around Town Final Version
September 2016
A
Hello,
you
have
tuned
into
our
program
what's
happening
around
town
for
the
city
of
San
Bruno
for
September
2016,
my
name
is
stephanie
chaves.
We
welcome
you
to
sit
back
for
the
next
few
minutes
to
find
out
what
your
city
has
in
store
for
you.
This
month,
historically
candles
were
mainly
used
in
the
home
to
light
ones
way.
Nowadays
we
use
candles
to
decorate
and
add
fragrance
and
charms
if
you
use
candles
in
your
home
be
sure
to
take
care
with
these
open
flames,
never
use
candles
if
oxygen
is
being
used
in
the
home.
A
Keep
flashlights
handy
in
case
of
emergency.
Don't
use
candles,
keep
candles
at
least
12
inches
away
from
anything
back
and
burn,
make
sure
the
candle
holder
is
sturdy
and
won't
tip
over
easily
only
burn
candles
under
adult
supervision
blow
out
all
candles.
When
you
leave
the
room
or
go
to
bed
well
avoid
using
candles
in
the
bedroom
or
other
areas
where
you
may
fall
asleep.

A
If
you
haven't
been
to

I
would
like
to
be
the
first
to
tell
you
that
a
new
play
structure
has
been
installed
in
the
park
was
reopened
at
the
end
of
July.
The
new
play
structure
has
a
pirate
beef.
So
if
you
know
any
youngsters
who
might
enjoy
something
like

with
movies
in

to
the
big

tennis
ball.

soon
as

friends

popcorn
and

chair

of

few
years,

the
park
each
Friday
night
in
September
once
the
music
ends
and
the
Sun
Goes
Down,
even
though
it
is

it
is
not
too
late

A
Last
month
the
San
Bruno
Police
Department
issued
a
press
release
regarding
phone
scams
that
have
been
plaguing
san
bruno
residents,
while
the
press
release
had
a
ton
of
great
ways
to
protect
yourself
from
getting
scams.
The
key
points
to
remember
are
no
law
enforcement
agency,
nor
the
IRS
will
ever
call
and
demand
money
over
the
telephone.
A
Also,
if
you
are
being
asked
to
send
money
via
western
union
or
by
purchasing
a
gift
card,
you
are
being
scammed,
don't
do
it
and
if
you
are
unsure
about
the
legitimacy
of
a
phone
call,
the
color
that
you
will
call
them
back
feel
free
to
contact
the
San
Bruno
police
at
616
7100.
With
any
questions
or
concerns
regarding
the
telephone,
scam
know
that
the
San
Bruno
Police
Department
is
in
your
corner
for
more
information.
A
Go
to
ww

at
the
bottom
of
the
page,
click
on
the
police
icon
under
the
word

on
the
left,
click
on
identity
theft.
Here
you
will
find
step-by-step
instructions
on
what
to
do
and
where
to
find
us
further
assistance.
You
can
find
the
press
release
about
phone
scams
on
the
police
department's
front
page,
and
if
you
discover
that
you
have
been
scammed,
you
can
file
a
report
online
or
call
the
police
department
at
616
7100.
A
Another
way
to
protect
yourself
from
con
artists
is
to
attend
the
free
seminar
called
senior
scam,
stopper
on
Friday
September
16
from
9
30
until
1130am
at
the
San

entertain
with

A

in
his
cat,

talent

September
23rd,
starting
at
ten
thirty.
In
the
morning,

will
follow
directly
after

at

elderly
residents
right
here
in
San

County.
It
is
just
your
luck
that
they
will
give
a
presentation
here
at
the
Senior
Center
on
Thursday
September
20
seconds,
starting
at
11am.
A
If
you
have
business
with
the
city
of
San
Bruno,
keep
in
mind
that
city
offices,
excluding
police
and
fire
emergency
services
will
be
closed
on
Mondays
septemberfest
for
Labor
Day
offices
will
reopen
on

once
again,

you
for

for
