National Beach Safety Week is to remind beachgoers to use caution in the aquatic environment. San Clemente beaches are an exceptional place to relax, surf and play, but dangers do exist. Lifeguards encourage beach goers to learn to swim, swim near a lifeguard, and to learn more about rip-currents and ocean hazards. NEW JUNIOR GUARDS – SWIM TEST REQUIRED
Register Now at San-Clemente.org/JG
All new students must pass a swim test to be eligible to register for the Junior Lifeguard Program. The swim test is conducted at the San Clemente Aquatics Center. A passing swim test is four laps (100 yards) under 2:00 minutes. The swim test is $5.00. No refunds and no walk-ins.
What to bring with you to the swim test:
1. Proof of age ( printed copy of child's birth certificate or passport)
2. Proof of residency for San Clemente residents (printed utility bill)
Non-residents do not need to show proof of residency.
Your child will not be tested without the required documentation. No Exceptions.

IBI Group, an internationally respected planning, engineering and technology firm retained by Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), Orange County and numerous cities throughout Orange County, released its report on the proposed SR-241 Toll Road extension proposed by the Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA). Using data and models provided by the OCTA, IBI found that building the SR-241 Extension will do virtually nothing to enhance the mobility projects currently planned in the OCTA Master Plan of Arterial Highways (MPAH) 2040 build out.
