COVID-19 Recovery Task Force, April 14, 2022
On Thursday, April 14, 2022, the City of San José hosted the sixth meeting of the COVID-19 Recovery Task Force, an important part of the City’s Community and Economic Recovery strategy. This Task Force, which will be convened for no more than a year, will be an opportunity for the City to engage with and learn from the people and communities who have been most impacted by the pandemic. Recovery is not for the City to do alone, rather this work must be done with the whole community, for the benefit of those most burdened by the crisis, guided by their wisdom, tapping into their potential, and building on their deep enduring strength. Approved by the City Council in September 2021, the COVID-19 Recovery Task Force is composed of 55 members and will meet monthly, with meetings open to the public and interpretation offered in Spanish and Vietnamese.

storytelling
project
that
we
will
launch

myself

someone
who
loves
theater,,
especially
community

know
that
stories
can
be
powerful
tools,
so
incorporating
storytelling
into
outreach
was

recommendations
by
the
task
force,
and
it's
why
you
see
here
in
this
plan,
so
through
quotes
and
photos
from
individuals.
We
hope
to
paint
a
more
vivid
picture
of
the
reality
of
covid-19
impact
and
that
a
qualitative
element
to
the
input
that
we're
going
to
be
receiving
and
engagement.

part
of
the
community
engagement

want

provide
all
task
force
members

a
toolkit
to
help
you
distribute

survey

storytelling
project
through
your

diversity,

services

think,
the
schools
like
the
school
districts
and
the
families
of
alum
rock
were
really
hard
hit
by
this
pandemic
and,
in
addition
to
educational
institutions,
probably
would
request
or
suggest
that,
you

school
district

rock,
should
be
part
of
these
conversations
because
they
serve.

think
children
and.

Some
of
the
most
vulnerable
populations
in
san
jose
and
oftentimes.
These
are
like
the
larger
institutions
that
could
be
very
a
great
partner
in
terms
of
the
outreach
and
engagement,
but
also
should
benefit
in
this
process
as
well,
because
those
are
like
the
families
and
children
that
that
are
part
of
that
most
kids
area..
So
I
would
just
highly
encourage
to
involve
that
population
and
to
think
about
all
of
us
think
about
ways
to
engage
our
seniors
as
well.
