Finance Director Oscar Rodriguez
B
A
A
Makes
it
a
little?
We
need
to
get
some
some
folks
with
signs
back
here
some
good
morning,
america
sort
of
thing
going
on
yeah,
but
we
haven't
quite
built
the
fan
base
for
that,
yet
I
guess
that'll
fish
bubble.
That
will
come
with
time.
So
you
are
the
finance
director
here
in
the
city
of
Santa
Fe,
but
tell
us
what
that
and
what,
if
that
encompasses,
obviously
very
involved
in
the
budget
very
involved
in
you
know:
cash
flow
and
accounting,
and
that
kind
of
thing.
B
Yes,
I'm
the
chief
financial
officer
for
City
that
involves
managing
all
the
city's
financial
resources,
whether
it's
planning
for
its
credit
profile,
managing
the
budget,
developing
managing
the
budget
projecting
out
into
the
future
how
things
are
going
to
be
managing
its
its
cash.
You
know,
there's
a
lot
of
cash
comes
in,
we
invested
long
term
short
term
and
then
some
of
it.
We
just
keep
us
cash
to
make
sure
that
you
make
payroll
the
every
cycle
and
the
axillary
paid.
B
We
also
manage
the
city's
internal
control
systems
so
that
when
somebody
is
paid
for
something
that
that
the
proper
controls
are
in
place
so
that
we
can
make
sure
that
they
are
paid
exactly
for
what
you
know,
the
proper
person
is
paid
for
the
proper
amount
and
that
it's
delivered
and
it
has
delivered
its
etcetera.
So
up.
That's
all
I
think
we
we
manage
the
staff.
Is
it's
been
there
a
long
time,
I'm
the
only
new
guy
there,
and
so
the
staff
knows
all
the
stories.
There's
lots
of
stories
about
how
things
got
there.
B
A
B
A
B
A
B
B
B
Such
as
it
is
a
the
budget
cycle,
just
goes
around
Iran
and
Roger.
Never
stops
sure
you
at
a
certain
point,
you're
developing
it,
along
with
you
know,
which
means
putting
forth
what
the
thing
departments
things
think
that
they're
going
to
need
next
year,
the
way
it
looks
over
in
the
long
term,
and
then
you
go
to
this
approval
process.
Where
the
council
hears
the
proposals
they
make
changes,
they
vote
it
and
then
july
one
it's
implemented
and
from
that
point
on
you,
we
monitor
it
and
continually
into
or
to
the
council
how
it's
going.
B
If
it
looks
like
go
on
track
and
something's
happened,
it's
taken
us
off
track
etcetera.
So
we
continue
to
go
as
continued
goes.
There's
been
a
couple
of
things
that
that
we
introduced
since
I've
gotten
here.
One
is
a
monthly
financial
report,
because
when
I
gets
a
detailed
monthly
financial
report
on
our
budget
on
our
cash
flow,
you
know
the
significant
revenues
there
have
been
coming
in
sure.
We've
also
engaged
the
council
in
a
long-range
projections
of
how
our
finances
are.
B
B
Yes,
yes,
and,
and
so
we're
operating
with
10
million
dollars
less.
As
far
as
that
goes,
property
taxes
gone
up
a
little
bit
because
of
the
annexations,
but
the
thing
that
defines
what
we're
doing
right
now
is
is
learning
how
to
operate
with
10
million
dollars
less
sure.
Now,
over
the
since
the
war,
the
last
eight
years,
the
council
did
a
lot
of
things
to
make
sure
they
didn't
lay
people
off.
It
make
sure
that
service
levels
weren't
affected
too
much
and
and
so
now
begins
the
process
of
unraveling.
B
Those
things
are
putting
the
things
back
to
where
they
were
before
the
recession,
like
research,
like
reserves
and
just
many
other
practices
that
they
took
in
place,
but
but
we're
okay.
The
city
is
ok
and
should
be
the
envy
of
many
other
cities.
I
think
Santa
Fe
and
is
one
it
since,
when
its
worst
day
is,
has
many
more
things
going
for
and
has
a
lot
more
options
and
a
lot
more
optimistic
future
than
nothing
a
lot
of
other
cities
and
so
I'm
helping
will
get
there.
It's
great.
