everyone

thank

for
being
here
today
and
thank
all
of
you
as
well.
I
am
mayor
quentin
hart
and
I
have
the
the
great
opportunity
to
do
the
oat
of
office
with
all
of
you
as
well
and
at
that
point
I'll
turn
it
over
to
the
chief
and
the
chief
will
give
some
comments
unless
he
wants
to
do
that.

And
it
goes
to
you
know
how
hard
our
administrative
division
has
been
working
to
keep
up
with
the
attrition
that
we've
had.
So
I
thank
the
administrative
division
for
bringing
us
candidates
here
through
civil
service
that
are
viable
police
officers
for
the
city
of
waterloo,
and
I
also
thank
you
all,
because
you've
displayed
an
interest
in
becoming
part
of
this
community.

So
if
we
can
just
get
another
group
of
individuals
like
you
of
six
or
more
we'll
be
at
a
hundred
percent
and
we
taken
a
step
in
the
positive
direction
by
hiring
you
all
and
by
putting
you
through
the
rigors
of
of
a
background
process
with
the
city
of
waterloo.
But
it's
worthwhile
and
I
want
the
community-
and
I
want
the
council
to
know
why
it's
worthwhile.
So
if
you'd
introduce
yourselves
and
tell
council
and
the
community
a
little
bit
about
yourselves,
I'd
appreciate
it.

I
guess
I
get
to
start
first,
I'm
douglas
cooper
currently
from
all
wine
iowa,
I'm
a
military
veteran.
So
I
did
four
and
a
half
years
in
the
air
force
as
security
forces,
so
military
law
enforcement
spent
some
time
in
minot,
north
dakota
korea,
as
well
as
italy,
and
after
that
I
worked
for
schwans
in
cedar,
falls
and
waterloo.
So
I've
been
fortunate
to
be
familiar
with
waterloo,
serving
people
here
and
then
recently,
graduated
from
uni
with
a
degree
in
criminology.

It
really
does
matter,
and
it
matters
that
we're
able
to
be
a
place
that
you
feel
as
if
moving
forward.
You
can
make
a
career
of
know.
This
family
members
out
here
know
that
they're
a
part
of
now
the
waterloo
police
department,
family
and
we'll
treat
them
as
such
they're
going
to
be
ups
and
there's
going
to
be
downs,
but
they'll
always
have
a
bunch
of
family
members
in
their
corner
to
ensure
that
they're
successful.

I'd
like
to
welcome
each
one
of
our
new
recruits
on
board
and
say
the
history
of
waterloo
police
recruits
and
the
police
in
the
actual
police
academy
is
that
you
gotta
finish
within
the
top
five.
So
four
of
the
top
five
spots
need
to
be
occupied
by
the
four
people
that
we
have
here
mary.
