A
I
expected
to
learn
a
lot
about
the
job
I
expected
to
finish
academy
with
a
lot
more
knowledge
of
you
know
just
general
things
how
things
operate
on
the
fire
truck
and
the
ambulance,
but
I
wasn't
expecting
so
much
to
learn
what
I
did
about
myself.
You
know
just
really
being
strong
and
not
giving
up
and
working
hard.
A
B
Hard,
you
know
going
through
academy
and
getting
the
short
experiences
that
we
had
interacting
with
the
guys
here
in
their
their
homes,
at
the
time
and
and
now
coming
in
as
as
the
new
guy
and
just
trying
to
be
respectful
and
as
helpful
as
we
can
stay
busy.
Don't
ever
have
idle
hands
or
still
feet
and
quiet
and
use
my
ears
more
than
my
mouth
expecting.
C
A
lot
of
time
on
the
truck
you
know,
you're
here,
you're
living
here,
you're
doing
the
daily
duties
getting
to
know
the
compartments
of
the
trucks
and
everything
and
that's
huge
like
if
someone
asks
for
a
tool
or
a
piece
of
equipment
or
something
you
need
to
know
where
that's
at
and
it'll
be
good
to
be
here
for
24
hours
and
able
to
go
through
the
trucks
and
just
learn
everything
from
all
the
guys
that
are
doing
this.
A
B
Definitely
the
importance
of
teamwork.
You
know
it's
it's
one
thing
to
be
capable
of
doing
the
job
and
then
going
in
and
getting
it
done.
But
you
can
get
a
lot
more
done
when
you
work
as
a
team
and
and
listen
to
other
people,
rather
than
just
going
with
your
plan,
talk
to
them
interact
and
and
come
up
with
a
solution
for
the
problem
that
you're
facing
absolutely.
A
I
would
say
just
pay
attention
be
open
to
everything,
try
to
take
mental
notes
of
what
everybody
is
saying.
Everyone
here
is
so
knowledgeable
they're
experts
and
it's
just
been
awesome
to
be
able
to
learn
from
everybody
and
everybody
has
their
little
tips
and
tricks
so
just
absorb
what
you
can
and
be
ready
to
work.
