From YouTube: Meet The New Fire Rescue Recruits
Description
Meet the three Fire Rescue recruits who started their training on October 5th. What motivated them to have them a career in Fire Rescue? What they did to prepare for today? What will they be at the end of the 4 week training session?
A
I've
studied
I've
trained.
I've
been
just
going
over
things
just
mentally
preparing
myself,
getting
ready
to
hit
the
streets
to
get
this
job
going.
B
I
definitely
refreshed
on
a
lot
of
the
fire
academy
stuff.
I
did
years
ago
it's
been
a
long
time,
so
was
just
kind
of
touching
base
with
some
of
that,
a
lot
of
mental
preparing,
just
getting
myself
psyched
up
and
being
ready
to
take
on
the
the
challenges
of
academy.
I
know
how
difficult
it
can
be,
and
I
I'm
hungry
for
the
challenge.
I
can't
wait
to
get
started
and
just
get
back
into
the
physical
aspect
of
this
career
is
definitely
a
driving
force
for
me.
Right
now,.
C
Reviewing
a
lot
it's
been
about
a
year
since
I've
been
on
an
ambulance,
so
it's
been
a
lot
of
reviewing.
You
know:
basic
patient
care
and
drug
dosages,
those
sort
of
things.
It's
been
a
few
years
since
I've
taken
firefighter
one
too.
So
it's
been
reviewing
that
information,
but
most
of
all
physically
preparing
myself,
I
mean
I
know
I'm
walking
into
a
physically
demanding
job
and
being
a
woman,
who's,
five
foot,
four!
You
know
I
think
I
have
some
work
to
do
so.
I've
been
hitting
the
gym
hard
too.
C
I
always
had
an
interest.
My
dad
was
a
firefighter
and
paramedic,
so
I
always
liked
visiting
him
at
the
station
and
getting
a
taste
of
the
atmosphere
and
seeing
all
the
cool
equipment,
but
in
2010
my
mom
coded
and
our
volunteer.
Firefighters
and
paramedics
showed
up
and
saved
her
life,
and
so
that's
really
the
triggering
point
for
me
when
I
decided
to
pursue
it
as
a
career
myself.
A
I
just
I
saw
the
firefighters
in
action,
you
know
one
of
my
neighbors
kind
of
had
an
incident
in
their
house
and
waterloo
came
and
was
able
to
get
them
back
up
and
they
took
him
to
the
hospital
and
everything.
But
we
were
there
firsthand.
You
know
trying
to
help
out,
but
once
fire
department
came,
it
was
just
like
it
was
on
and
it
blew
my
mind
and
from
that
moment
I
was
like
I
I
want
to
do
that
like
that
would
be
just
fantastic.
You
know.
B
What
really
got
my
interest
to
become
a
paramedic
firefighter
was,
I
I
started
out
in
the
hospital.
Just
working
as
a
patient
transport
was
able
to
get
on
a
call
that
was
not
the
greatest.
A
patient
had
gone
into
cardiac
arrest,
and
I
was
the
first
one
to
arrive
and
find
that
patient
in
their
er
room
started.
Cpr
hit
the
code
button.
B
A
team
came
in
including
two
paramedics
that
were
there
with
the
fire
department
at
the
time,
and
we
continued
to
process
and
run
that
the
cardiac
arrest
for
this
patient
and
afterwards
you
know,
leaving
there
and
talking
with
everybody
it
just
felt
like
man,
that's
where
I
need
to
be
and
what
I
want
to
do
with
my
life
and
from
that
moment
on
it's,
it's
been
a
process
to
get
me
to
where
I'm
at
today.
Right
here.
