A
A
I'm
councillor,
keith
orwell,
the
executive
member
for
children,
young
people
and
education
with
me
is
mark
alice
mark.
Can
you
explain
your
position
in
this
meeting.
B
Yeah
I'm
mark
ellis.
I
had
the
skill
services
team
and
the
skill
services
team
as
a
job
title
suggests,
he's
working
in
liaising
with
all
schools
across
the
city
of
york,
council
and
today's
paper
particularly
looks
at
setting
term
dates
for
for
those
schools
across
the
city.
A
A
Item
two
is
the
minutes
of
the
last
meeting
just
to
approve
and
note
the
the
minutes
and
they
will
be
signed
when
it
is
safe
and
possible
to
do
that
item.
Three
is
public
participation.
A
There
are
no
public
participants
today
for
this
meeting
item.
4
is
term
dates
for
the
school
year,
2022
23.
mark.
Would
you
like
to
detail
this
report?
Please.
B
Okay,
thank
you
very
much.
So
yes,
as
you
said
this,
this
paper
is,
is
seeking
approval
for
the
term
dates
for
the
full
year,
which
will
start
in
september
2022..
So
in
setting
the
term
dates.
B
Just
a
little
bit
of
background
is
the
25
local
authorities
across
the
north
together
some
guiding
principles,
setting
term
date
with
with
the
plan
really
to
try
and
coordinate
those
term
dates,
so
that
we're
linking
things
together
as
as
much
as
we
can
well
some
of
those
guardian
principles,
for
example,
things
like
that
the
term
termed
the
term
will
start
in
the
first
monday
in
september.
B
That
will
have
two
weeks
at
christmas.
Those
are
the
types
of
things
which
are
the
guardian
principles,
so
in
particular,
what
we're
trying
to
do
in
the
city
of
york
is
trying
to
sort
of
coordinate.
Our
term
dates
with
the
two
neighboring
authorities,
in
particular
the
east
riding
in
north
yorkshire,
because
firstly,
there's
quite
a
lot
of
movement
in
that
pupils
from
north
yorkshire
attending
obstacles,
and
vice
versa
and
obviously
staff
as
well.
So
you've
got
staff
who
who
may
work
in
new
york
but
residing
east
riding
in
north
yorkshire.
B
So
I
think
it's
fairly
important
that
we
try
and
get
the
term
dates
that
link
together
and
the
other
important
thing
as
well
is
because
obviously
home
to
school
transport,
so
we're
trying
to
keep
all
schools
using
the
same
dates
as
possible
as
the
employer
for
all
the
maintained
skills
across
the
city
of
york.
B
A
That
available
working
with
other
authorities
and
across
york
authority
to
keep
these
dates
compared
with
others.
We
all
remember
some
of
the
issues
in
the
past
when
this
hasn't
happened
and
the
problems
it
causes
for
parents,
people
working
and,
as
you
say,
school
transport,
so
because
of
of
the
work
that's
gone
into
this
I'm
happy
to
accept
the
report
today
and
approve
the
report.
