C,

Superintendent
of
Schools
school
board.
Appointment
of
temporary
interim
superintendent,
I'll
open
the
public
hearing.
Is
there
anyone
here
who
wishes
to
address
this
item?
A
C
Want
to
give
the
board
an
update
on
the
coronavirus
what
the
district
is
doing
in
response
to
the
coronavirus.
This
morning,
we
we
took
the
coronavirus
task
force
that
we
established
about
a
week
ago
of
key
members
of
of
our
team
to
discuss
all
possible
things
that
we
can
do
in
a
proactive
type
of
way.
Thus
far,
we've
done
the
following:
we've
increased
cleaning
of
high-touch
areas
such
as
desk
counters
bathrooms
doorknobs
as
buses,
etc.
C
We
prepared
a
rapid
response
team.
In
fact,
I
just
made
a
call
prior
to
this
to
ensure
that
the
rapid
response
team
is
ready
to
to
ensue
at
any
moment.
If
the
need
occurs,
we've
increased
the
purchase
of
supplies
that
we
believe
could
be
a
supply
interruption
because
of
people
wanting
various
supplies,
such
as
cleaning
supplies,
I
sent
out
an
additional
communication
to
all
principals,
requiring
them
to
have
an
additional
training
with
custodial
staff
I
think
sometimes
a
review
of
proper
procedures
is
in
place
and
is
appropriate
with
our
custodial
staff.
C
I
know
that
they
do
a
great
job,
but
everybody
always
needs
a
little
reminder,
especially
in
times
like
this.
As
far
as
student
attendance
goes,
we
want
to
remind
parents
if
your
child's
sick,
please
keep
them
at
home.
We
don't
want
anybody
else
to
get
sick.
We
have
normal
attendance
policies
in
effect,
currently
we're
gonna
monitor
the
situation
and
make
a
changes
as
as
situations
dictate.
As
far
as
travel
goes,
we've
worked
on
very
a
wide,
diverse
group
of
situations
involving
travel
that
was
already
planned.
C
We
basically
said
there
will
be
no
new
travel
from
the
Clay
County
School
District
in
state
out
of
state
country.
No
new
travel
at
this
point
will
be
issued.
Travel
that's
already
on
the
books.
We
worked
with
various
tour
groups,
groups
of
parents
etc
to
cancel
those.
Also,
as
you
can
imagine,
these
kinds
of
situations
are
very
challenging
when
it
comes
to
those
situations.
I
think
the
the
health
of
individuals
has
to
take
precedence
in
that
type
of
scenario.
We
also
gave
general
travel
recommendations
out
to
all
stakeholders
in
regard
to
to
travel.
C
We
also
gave
definitions
that
are
currently
in
the
news,
a
lot,
but
maybe
are
not
as
as
understood
like
what
self
isolation
means.
Self
monitoring
I
feel
like
with
where
we
are
in
this
process
with
this
disease.
Those
terms
will
be
very
familiar
to
all
of
us
over
the
course
of
time.
So
we
wanted
to
have
all
stakeholders
have
a
common
knowledge,
a
common
language
when
it
comes
to
the
coronavirus
we
also
Spring
Break
comes
along.
C
We
also
said
that
travel
to
areas,
while
the
president
put
a
ban
on
certain
areas,
I
recognize
that
travel
to
certain
areas
is
just
not
advised,
and
one
should
consider
that,
because,
if
you
traveled
from
an
area,
that's
a
level
three
area,
you're
going
to
be
self-isolation
for
14
days.
As
a
result
of
that,
all
of
these
things
are
very
challenging.
I
am
sure,
they'll
be
challenging
days
and
days
ahead.
I
have
little
doubt
that,
based
on
on
the
current
situation,
that
there'll
be
a
reported
case
in
Clay
County.
C
At
some
point,
it
just
makes
sense
based
on
the
increased
testing,
as
well
as
our
current
situation.
At
that
time,
we'll
be
together
with
our
partners
in
the
Department
of
Health
and
emergency
management.
Well,
look
at
the
direct
impact
that
this
could
potentially
have
on
a
school.
At
that
point,
we
would
make
a
decision
about
potential
school
closures.
Okay,
we
would
communicate
out
to
all
of
our
partners.
At
that
point
you
know.
C
I
can
say
this
I
feel
like
we're
prepared
for
this,
but
I
also
recognize
that
we'll
be
making
decisions
as
current
information
changes
we'll
make
the
best
decision
possible,
always
keeping
in
mind
the
safety
and
security
of
our
students
and
our
community.
I
do
appreciate
the
board
support
on
this
issue,
because
I'm
very
confident
that
there'll
be
challenging
times
when
it
comes
to
this
particular
issue.
So.
A
B
C
C
And
there'll
be
a
lot
of
those
I'm
going
to
call
it
a
one-off
situation
like,
for
example,
I,
get
a
call
that
says
person
traveling
for
a
death
of
a
family
member
to
the
United
Kingdom.
How
are
you
going
to
handle
that
so
so
recognize
that
there
is
no
one-size-fits-all
every
situation?
We
have
a
district
of
almost
5000
employees,
30,
roughly
39
thousand
students,
all
the
families
that
are
involved
in
that
there'll
be
many
situations
that
are
one
often
in
nature.
