A
Hi
clay
County:
this
is
David
Brodsky
Superintendent
of
Schools
here
in
Clay
County
today,
I
want
to
give
a
shout
out
to
the
class
of
2020.
As
many
of
you
are
aware,
governor
Ron
de
Santos
on
Saturday
had
canceled
public
schools
in
the
state
of
Florida
until
the
end
of
the
year
in
Clay
County.
That
means
we're
going
to
continue
deaths,
distance
learning
until
the
end
of
the
year.
It
also
means
that
many
of
you
have
questions
about
graduation
now
that
we're
not
going
to
be
in
session
at
the
end
of
the
year.
A
Unfortunately,
the
original
scheduled
date
of
May
29th
is
now
going
to
be
postponed
until
July
I
just
want
to
assure
you
that
I'm
committed
to
having
a
traditional
graduation
ceremony
and
all
of
our
high
schools
in
July.
Of
course,
we
are
going
to
have
to
follow
the
latest
CDC
federal
and
state
guidelines
related
to
large
groups
of
people
gathering
at
that
time.
I
know
as
a
former
high
school
principal
and
the
uncle
of
a
current
graduate
of
the
class
of
2020.
A
Just
how
important
the
graduation
ceremony
is
to
all
of
our
seniors
we're
committed
to
doing
that
within
the
guidelines
that
are
available
at
that
time.
I
also
want
to
announce
that
we're
going
to
do
a
special
celebration
of
seniors
during
the
night
of
the
original
scheduled
graduation
ceremony,
which
is
May
29th,
that's
a
night
that
we're
going
to
honor
students,
their
accomplishments
and,
in
general,
the
class
of
2020.
Certainly,
the
class
of
2020
did
not
sign
up
for
a
worldwide
pandemic.
A
We
live
in
extraordinary
times
and
I
just
wanted
to
reassure
seniors
that
we're
going
to
do
everything
possible
to
honor
this
class
of
2020.
It's
very
important
to
me.
I've
spoken
to
all
the
high
school
principals,
it's
very
important
to
them,
and
I
recognize
just
how
important
it
is
to
all
of
the
parents
out
there
and
extended
family
members.
So
that
is
our
plan
for
graduation
I,
hope,
I've
answered
all
of
those
questions
and
I
just
thank
everyone
for
the
success
of
distance
learning
and
everyone's
grace
compassion
and
flexibility
for
one
another.
Thank
you.
