From YouTube: Dec 2022 CAB Call
Description
End of the year CAB call with miscellaneous updates.
A
My
name
is
RAM
and
I
will
be
sharing
a
few
insights
today
from
what
has
been
going
on
with
the
community
and
just
get
some
discussion
going
about
what
to
look
forward
to
in
the
future
and
what
has
transpired
this
past
year.
A
First
up
the
significant
Community
updates
from
the
year,
where
that
we
had
the
first
sort
of
elections
after
we
had
the
inaugural
doc
so
like
for
the
first
time
we
created
a
policy
for
rotating
members
within
the
TOC,
and
we
had
an
interesting
subset
of
members
replaced
one
another
David,
Stevenson
and
Jan
Von
Lowenstein
were
replaced
by
Reuben
and
behan.
A
It
was
a
nice
rotation
in
terms
of
getting
someone
from
VMware
and
someone
from
sap
maintaining
the
balance,
and
we
also
elected
Andy
Hunt
from
the
gov
dot
UK
pass
team,
who
is
also
the
TOC
chair,
very
embarrassingly,
whose
name
I
forgot
to
include
on
the
slide.
A
The
big
news
for
2022
I
guess
was
the
CF
Day
event
that
happened
in
Detroit,
so
a
big
thanks
to
our
sponsors
for
the
event,
and
also
all
of
the
folks
who
were
able
to
attend
in
person
after
what
feels
like
forever-
and
you
know,
make
the
event
a
success
and
participate
in
terms
of
submitting
cfps
helping
us
review
them
doing
the
talks
itself
and
also
for
all
of
the
lovely
conversations
around
Cloud,
Foundry
and
all
of
the
different
topics.
There
was
also
an
Extended
sort
of
three-day
booth
at
kubecon
in
Detroit.
A
A
lot
of
folks
from
the
community
participated
at
the
booth
and
you
know
picked
up
some
good
Duty
slots
and
it
was,
you
know,
very
helpful
in
terms
of
being
able
to
staff
it
and
make
the
booth
a
success.
So
a
big
thanks
to
the
community.
For
that
too,
in
2023,
we
do
have
plans
for
hosting
some
events,
both
in
person
as
well
as
hybrid.
If
that's
possible,
we
might
not
have
a
big
event.
A
But
all
of
these
plans
are,
you
know
up
in
the
air
is
still
under
discussion
and
at
the
moment
we
haven't
finalized
much,
but
there's
a
lot
of
momentum
going
into
events
for
2023
there's
also
a
lot
of
interest
both
from
the
foundation,
the
governing
board
and
some
members
of
the
community
to
continue
this
vein
and
keep
up
the
momentum
and
meet
more
folks
through
the
medium
of
events
and
see
how
best
we
can
make
use
of
that.
A
So
we're
continuing
to
work
on
that
we'll
have
some
updates
soon
for
all
of
all
of
you,
so
definitely
stay
tuned
in
terms
of
the
technology
itself.
We've
been
making
a
lot
of
small
strides
in
terms
of
where
we're
going
with
CF
in
general
overall,
but
I.
Think
the
big
update
and
the
big
change
in
terms
of
the
CF
technology
itself
is
with
the
Jammy
jellyfish
work
in
particular.
A
I
think
two
areas
impact
the
most
with
this
chain,
so
one
is
stem
cells,
so
all
of
our
stem
cells
are
now
updated
to
make
use
of
Jammy
and
the
other
area
or
the
other
working
group
that
had
the
most
impact
was
paquetto
build
pack.
So
paqueto
now
offers
like
a
Jammy
layer
within
when
you,
when
you
containerize
using
paqueto,
so
definitely
take
advantage
of
that.
A
If
you
have
some
feedback
about
you
know
whatever
parts
of
this,
you
know
adopting
Jammy
jellyfish,
you
know
hit
us
up
on
GitHub
or
you
know,
you're
more
than
welcome
to
voice
them
on
slack
or
whatever
feels
most
convenient.
A
A
So
this
Insight
is
about
new
contributors
is
definitely
nice
to
note
that
the
the
number
is
trending
upwards
in
terms
of
just
the
past
year,
the
Trend
among
new
contributors
has
been.
You
know
on
the
up
so,
which
is
which
is
great
to
know.
A
That
being
said,
I
think,
just
in
terms
of
sheer
numbers,
we've
not
grown
as
much
relative
to
past
years.
So
that's
definitely
something
that
I
think
we
could
do
better
in
the
coming
year.
So
I
guess
again
key
to
that
is
more
events.
Key
to
that
is
more
enablement
for
the
community
itself
and
better
education
among
folks
about
you
know
what
the
project
is,
how
you
can
contribute
so
on
and
so
forth.
A
I
think
this
chart
is
about
contributor
strength,
which
is
you
know,
kind
of
been
quite
steady
compared
to
the
past
year,
and
then
this
is
an
insight
that
shows
some
general
Trends
and
summarizes
some
of
the
things
about
who
have
been
contributing
and
who
have
not.
So
a
lot
of
cleanup
obviously
is
necessary.
A
A
I
think
we
are
holding
rather
steady
in
terms
of
our
volume,
and
you
can
see
that
in
terms
of
the
percentage
growth
and
things
like
that,
and
then
I
think
one
of
the
things
that
is
a
reflection
of
the
health
of
the
community
is
how
soon
we're
closing
issues
and
how
active
the
community
is
in
terms
of
keeping
the
GitHub
issues
up
to
date
and
how
active
they
are
in
terms
of
managing
that
and
I
think
the
community
has
been
doing
a
good
job
overall.
A
In
terms
of
you
know,
closing
issues
out
discussing
them
and
cleaning
them
out,
as
is
necessary
and
keeping
things
from
going
still
so
yeah
a
nice
pat
on
the
back
and
obviously
there's
there's.
A
So
yeah,
those
are
the
few
things
I
had
that
I
thought
we
should
discuss
and
felt
pertinent
to
share
with
the
community.
So
generally
big
thanks
for
all
of
your
participation
in
the
past
year
and
I
really
look
forward
to
working
with
the
community
in
the
next
year
and
putting
up
some
great
stuff,
there's
there's
a
lot
of
things
to
look
forward
to
in
terms
of
projects
in
terms
of
the
events
and
in
terms
of
new
training,
material
and
other
things
that
we
are
working
on
right
now
and
so
yeah.
A
It's
it's
really
a
fun
time
to
be
part
of
the
CF
Community
I
guess,
and
hopefully
we
can
have
a
very
successful
year
to
come.
