Keynote: Opening Remarks - April Nassi, Program Manager, Google
A
A
A
Hopefully
next
year,
we'll
be
able
to
all
be
together
in
person
at
this
event
and
many
others,
I
want
to
again
thank
you
all
for
attending
and
for
sending
your
submission
ideas
and
just
being
part
of
the
grpc
community.
Also,
I
have
to
give
a
big
big
thanks
to
our
sponsors.
For
this
event,
the
cloud
native
computing
foundation
and
google
cloud
both
are
the
diamond
sponsors,
and
without
them
we
would
not
be
able
to
do
this
event.
A
This
is
something
that
we've
been
hearing
from
a
lot
of
you
for
quite
a
while
that
we
needed
to
kind
of
give
the
whole
documentation
site
an
overhaul,
improve
some
things
and
make
it
more
user-friendly.
So
we're
very
excited
that
we
have
this
underway
right
now.
You
no
doubt
have
seen
patrice
commenting
on
github
issues
and
being
involved
in
the
website,
repo,
we're
very
excited
that
he's
able
to
help
us
and
huge
thanks
to
cncf
for
supplying
the
tech
writer
to
the
project.
We're
very,
very
grateful.
It's
been
a
big
year.
A
Not
only
did
we,
you
know
finally
get
to
undertake
our
big
documentation
updates,
but
we've
also
had
some
pretty
big
releases.
We
had
the
net
core
release
with
grpc
a
big
thanks
to
the
microsoft
team
for
that
very
exciting,
to
see
that
grpc
kotlin
also
was
recently
announced
and
you'll
hear
more
about
that
tomorrow
from
james
ward,
and
we
also
had
the
grpc
js,
1.0,
re-implementation
and
typescript.
A
So
there's
been
a
lot,
that's
gone
on
just
in
this
past
year,
since
we
saw
everyone
in
sunnyvale
and
we're
really
excited
about
what's
coming
in
the
future.
I
think
you
will
hear
some
of
the
exciting
things
that
folks
are
working
on
during
today
and
tomorrow
for
the
conference,
and
we
hope
that
we'll
be
able
to
share
more
of
these
stories
with
you
as
we
redo
our
community
meetings
and
everything
else
to
you
know
fit
our
new
virtual
landscape
with
the
world.
A
So
keep
an
eye
out
for
information
on
that
as
well
later,
today,
you'll
have
the
opportunity
to
chat
with
some
of
the
grpc
maintainers
as
well
as
myself.
If
you've
got
questions
about
how
to
get
involved
with
the
community
and
how
to
engage
more
with
the
different
projects
and
repositories
that
grpc
has.
A
Please
do
join
us
for
that
session.
If
you
have
a
specific
language
that
you're
looking
for
assistance
with,
if
we
don't
have
that
particular
maintainer,
we
will
get
them.
So
please
do
bring
your
questions
and,
if
you're
unable
to
make
that
time
today,
we
will
have
people
throughout
the
conference
available
at
the
booths
and
able
to
have
conversations
with
you
and
then,
of
course,
we
have
are
the
usual
suspects
of
the
mailing
list
and
the
getter
chats
and
I
believe,
there's
still
some
active
stuff
on
irc
as
well.
A
So
definitely
do
join
us
and
bring
your
questions.
We
would
love
to
chat
with
you
more
and
hear
about
the
cool
stuff
that
you're
building
with
grpc.
So
again,
thank
you
very
much
for
being
here
this
year.
We're
very
excited
to
have
the
second
event
and
to
be
able
to
have
this
avenue
to
share
some
of
the
cool
things
that
everyone
is
working
on
and
building,
and
we
look
forward
to
hopefully
you'll
be
able
to
join
us
next
year
and
you'll,
be
speaking
and
sharing
some
of
the
amazing
things
that
you've
done.
