From YouTube: Welcome remarks, Matthew Cascio
Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
A
A
My
name
is
matt
cassio,
I'm
an
executive
director
at
red
cross.
I
oversee
the
fundraising
and
marketing
technology
cloud
and
it
is
my
great
pleasure
and
honor
to
be
here
to
welcome
you
to
our
day
together
talking
about
kubernetes
and
other
related
technologies,
and
we
have
a
great
day
of
sessions
planned
for
you.
A
Hopefully,
you
can
see
my
screen
and
I'm
going
to
progress
through
a
few
slides
just
to
share
with
you
an
overview
of
the
day,
make
sure
you're
comfortable
make
sure
you
can
hear.
If
you
do
have
any
technical
issues.
Please
use
the
chat.
We
can
try
to
help
you
in
the
background,
but
otherwise
we're
going
to
progress
through
our
agenda
for
the
day,
and
I
apologize
I'm
looking
at
the
camera.
A
When
I
talk
to
you,
but
my
my
presentation
is
on
a
different
monitor,
so
I'm
not
I'm
not
avoiding
eye
contact
like
I
said
we
do
have
a
number
of
great
sessions
for
you
today.
We
have
great
speakers
on
the
agenda
for
you.
You
can
see
the
lineup
here
on
screen.
You
probably
already
have
seen
the
lineup
in
your
agenda
and
marked
the
sessions
that
you
are
interested
in.
We
hope
you
enjoy
all
of
those
sessions
thanks
for
some
interactivity
during
those
sessions.
A
So
please
contribute,
you
know,
as
you
are
able
to
fahim,
is
sort
of
our
master
of
ceremonies
today.
Thank
you
very
much
for
doing
that,
and-
and
he
is
one
of
our
organizers,
if
you
can,
if
you
can
see
my
screen
you'll
see
on
the
slide
that
I
have
showing
here
a
few
organ.
Our
organizers
for
today,
who've
worked
very
hard
for
the
last
couple
of
years.
A
Like
mentioned,
this
concept
goes
back
a
couple
years
pre-pandemic
and
it
got
bumped
a
number
of
times
red
cross
was
hoping
to
host
you
in
our
facility
at
red
cross
square
in
washington
dc
just
off
of
the
ellipse,
but,
of
course,
with
pandemic
and
safety
issues.
It
was
bumped
a
few
times
and
and
we're
doing
it
virtually
today,
but
that
shouldn't
detract
from
the
value
you
get
out
of
the
sessions
we
have
today
and
certainly
doesn't
detract
from
the
effort
that
our
organizers
have
put
in
to
this
event.
A
A
A
I
got
involved
with
it
and
got
red
cross
involved
with
cncf,
probably
three
years
ago
now,
so
I
think
compared
to
manny,
I'm
a
a
relative
newcomer
to
the
cncf,
but
it's
been
a
great
experience
for
us
been
very
rewarding.
We've
learned
so
much
we
were
attending.
We
attended
the
in
person
kubecon
in
2019
november
in
san
diego.
That
was
a
great
event
for
us.
We
went
for
the
purpose
of
showcasing
our
program
called
code
for
good,
which
is
a
volunteer
program
at
the
red
cross.
A
It
is
rooted
in
our
mission,
which
is
to
prevent
and
alleviate
human
suffering
in
the
face
of
emergencies,
by
mobilizing
the
power
of
volunteers
and
the
generosity
of
donors,
and
so
right
there
front
and
center,
and
our
mission
is
the
the
task
of
mobilizing
the
power
of
volunteers,
and
we
are
pretty
good
at
recruiting
and
training
volunteers,
particularly
in
the
delivery
of
our
mission,
and
that
means
staffing,
shelters
during
emergencies,
providing
blankets
and
meals
being
on
site
at
home,
fires
with
relief
supplies,
water,
shelter,
things
like
that,
and
so
out
of
that
grew
the
idea
that
well,
why
can't
we
recruit
people
with
technical
skills
to
help
us
with
some
of
our
software
and
platforms
that
powers
things
like
our
blood
appointment,
scheduling,
app
or
our
consumer
fundraising
donation,
engine,
our
services
that
are
reused
by
other
folks
for
our
apps,
that
you
might
find
in
the
app
store
or
in
google
play,
and
so
that
has
proven
to
be
quite
a
rewarding
experience.
A
We've
got
probably
over
500
individuals
today
who
are
working
with
us
through
code
for
good.
Their
generosity
is
essentially
unmatched.
You
know
they
spend
anywhere
from
a
couple
hours.
A
week
to,
in
some
cases,
some
folks
are
retired
and
it's
essentially
their
job
they're
spending
30
hours
a
week.
So
it's
been
a
wonderful
outpouring
of
support
through
this
program
and
there
is
an
opportunity
for
corporate
volunteerism.
A
So
we've
done
a
number
of
projects
with
partners
like
delta,
dental
and
exxon
and
we're
looking
forward
to
more
so
all
told
it
saves
us
about
a
million
bucks
every
year
in
in
professional
fees.
We
don't
have
to
pay
to
a
vendor
because
of
our
volunteers,
doing
the
work
and
it
supports
about
20
million
dollars
in
donations
every
year,
and
so
it's
not
a
trivial
addition
to
the
red
cross
capabilities,
and
it's
all
because
of
you
know
the
generosity
of
volunteers.
I
hope
you'll
consider
joining.
A
You
can
learn
more
at
code
for
good
dot
io,
that
is
code,
the
number
four
good
dot
io.
If
you
can
see
my
screen
that
there's
a
a
visual
there
for
you
to
look
at,
but
it
is
code4good.io
we're
very
happy
to
be
sponsoring
this
event
and
have
been
organizing.
Like
I
said
we
wanted
to
host
you
in
our
facility
at
red
cross
square.
A
If
you
can
see
the
screen
here,
we've
got
some
pictures
of
our
east,
our
national
headquarters
on
17th
street
and
our
famous
boardroom,
where
we
have
our
tiffany
windows
that
have
a
whole
back
story
to
them,
but
I'll,
let
you
look
look
out.
Look
that
up
on
redcross.org
there's
a
long,
interesting
history
of
how
those
tiffany
windows
came
to
us
and
it's
related
to
reconciliation
after
the
american
civil
war.
A
So
red
cross
goes
back
a
long
ways
as,
as
you
probably
already
know,
hopefully,
next
year
we
can
host
you
there
we're
looking
forward
to
doing
that.
A
Last
but
not
least,
if
you
do
want
to
get
involved
after
you
know
today,
with
what
we're
doing
here
in
the
kcd
dc
group,
there
is
always
an
opportunity
to
to
do
so.
We
welcome
you.
We
would
welcome
you,
we
we
ask
that
you,
you
know,
have
some.
If
you
have
some
interest
that
you've
go
to
or
you
can
email
us
at
organizers-dc
at
kubernetes
communitydays.org.
A
Hopefully
you
can
see
that
on
the
screen.
If
not,
we
can
post
that
for
you
somewhere
in
the
chat
later,
maybe
where
you
can
copy
that
down.
It's
kind
of
a
long
email
and
there's
also
several
meetups
that
we
organize
not
the
least
of
which
is
on
our
slack
channel
and
there's
a
link
in
a
room
hashtag
on
screen.
Again,
if
you
can't
see
that
at
the
moment,
we'll
post
that
for
you
in
a
place
later,
that
you
can
access
it
and
get
involved,
that's
really
it
for
our
welcome
message.
Thank
you.
A
So
much
for
joining
today's
agenda
is
for
your
benefit.
We
we
hope
you
do
enjoy
it.
Just
remember
please.
If
you
could,
you
know
we
ask
that
everybody
adhere
to
the
cncf
code
of
conduct,
it's
very
simply
be
kind
and
respectful,
which
I
think
everybody
would
happily
go
along
with.
