A
A
What
you
see
that
when
you
look
inside
of
a
well
usually
there's
a
very
useful
core
and
when
you're
looking
inside
of
the
docker
well,
there's
the
same
core,
that's
called
container
G
and
today
we're
or
a
week
ago
we
gave
it
to
CN
CF
and
you
can
see
the
logo
here.
It's
been
accepted
this
week.
So
that's
why
we're
here!
So
thank
you.
So.
A
Container
D
is
like
or
a
container
of
runtime
that
runs
containers
in
darker,
so
it
does
a
container
execution
and
supervision.
It's
been
doing
that
since
docker
1.11.
So
even
if
you
don't,
if
you're
hearing
about
continuity
for
the
first
time
today,
you're
probably
using
it
either
on
your
laptop
or
in
the
cloud
today,
the
the
future
container
D,
the
one
we're
working
on,
will
add
image,
distribution,
local
storage
and
a
native
plumbing
API
using
G
RPC.
A
So
it's
built
by
doctor
with
input
from
the
five
largest
cloud
providers,
Alibaba
Amazon,
Google,
IBM
and
Microsoft
docker
engine
itself
is
much
wider
than
container
D.
So
that's
why
I
was
talking
about
the
core.
So
docker
is
a
complete
container
platform
for
the
complete
distributed
application
lifecycle.
So
it
has.
It
manages
infrastructure
with
infrakit
that
actually
we
we
introduced
at
linux
con
in
october
here
in
berlin.
A
Continuity
is
the
container
runtime,
the
swamp
kit
for
orchestration
and
then
a
bunch
of
docker
services,
so
container
D
is
widely
used
through
docker
millions
of
installations
in
all
industry
segments.
You
can
see
all
the
logos
over
there
there's
a
good
chance
that
you're
using
it
already
so
it's
a
stable,
codebase,
that's
been
battle,
tested
and
and
container
D
is
not
in
isolation.
Docker
is
doing
a
lot
of
these
plumbing
projects.
Here
you
can
see
a
slide
that
we
presented
that
Linux
con
in
Berlin
in
October
when
we
introduced
infrakit.
A
So
as
docker
is
growing
in
usage
here,
you
can
see
the
number
of
tools
on
docker
hub,
so
we
were
at
six
billion
pools
today
we're
at
11
billion.
Basically,
every
month
we
have
one
more
billion
images
that
are
pulled
from
docker
hub
as
we
are
doing
that
were
shedding
out
components,
and
so
it
started
with
lib
container
and
then
we
we
went
with
all
the
run
sea
notary
so
run
see
the
reference
implementation
for
our
CI
and
then
swarm
kit,
infrakit
and
today
container
D.
A
So
the
role
of
continuity
in
the
container
ecosystem
at
the
base
layer.
You
have
your
operating
system.
On
top
of
it,
you
have
a
thin
layer
of
standards.
So
that's
what
we
call
OCI,
it's
another
linux
foundation,
collaborative
project,
the
open
container
initiative,
so
docker
is
part
of
it
with
40
different
vendors
and
were
defining
inspects
for
image,
hrunta
image
and
runtime.
A
So
the
specs
are
very
advanced
and
there
will
be
a
session
about
that
this
afternoon,
a
panel
and
then
on
top
of
that
implementing
the
specs
is
container
D
the
container
runtime,
and
then
you
can
build
your
own
orchestration.
So
container
D
is
really
designed
to
be
embedded.
It
exposes
a
G
RPC
API,
as
well
as
a
matrix
API.
That
follows
the
Prometheus
format.
A
It
is
composed
of
several
subsystems.
One
for
distribution
want
to
manage
bundles
and
then
the
runtime
itself.
The
community
is
vibrant,
there's
141
commits
per
month.
Eight
maintainer
is
from
five
different
companies,
and
only
last
month
there
was
17
unique
contributors.
So
it's
a
very
healthy
projects.
A
Only
Engineers
or
many
of
us
at
Daka
are
engineers
and
continuity
itself
is
very
aligned
technically
with
the
other
CN
CF
projects
which
using
G
RPC,
which
is
part
of
CN
CF.
It
exposes
metrics
in
the
Prometheus
format
and
it
is
designed
to
be
embedded
in
higher-level
systems
like
kubernetes,
so
it
could
be
a
very
good
implementation
for
the
kubernetes
GRI
interface
that
you'll
probably
hear
about
today.
If
you
want
to
contribute
and
learn
more,
we
have
three
of
the
continuity
maintainer
here
in
the
at
the
conference
today.
A
So
just
in
comic,
that's
here,
direct
McGovern
and
Phil
Estes.
Why?
You
feel
so
try
to
find
these
guys
they'll
be
around.
Today
we
have
a
salon
at
155
in
Co,
four
and
then
we'll
have
the
justin
is
giving
a
talk
tomorrow
at
11:30
and
then,
if
you're
going
to
us
in
a
dacha
con,
take
April
20s
for
the
next
continuity
summit.
Thank
you
very
much
and
have
fun
at
cloud
native
con.
