The presentation will cover an overview of the SIG-IBMCloud and highlights of the SIG activities. It will also provide an overview of how the SIG and IBMCloud contribute to the upstream work in various areas like scalability, networking, cloud registry, Helm and SIG App. We will also brief on near-term roadmap for the SIG.

sig
overview,
we'll
talk
about
six
structure
in
activities
as
as
part
of
this
introduction
for
the
sig,
and
then
this
is
a
sig.

clouds

overview
of
IBM
cloud.
Cubed
is
service
or
IKS
in
the
IBM
cloud,
private.

briefing
on
those
two
we
would
like
to
give
you
know
over.
You

contributions
we
make,
as
in
sig
in
IBM
is
a
big
contributor
to
the
communities
and
other
projects
upstream
we're
on
the
top
contributors
there,
but
we're
not
covering
all
those
things
here.
We
would
be
covering
contributions
from
the
IBM
cloud
teams
in
then
we're
gonna
summarize
it,
and
we
would
like
to
have
some
discussions
around
how
we
can
make
sig
better.
What
are
the
activities
that
people
would
like
to
see
more
and
that
sort
of
things?

part
of
this
discussions,
you

you
got
to
know
many
developers
and
leaders
from
IBM
cloud
teams.
They
work
openly
in
this
sig.
You
also
will
follow
the
evaluations
of
IKS
and
ICP
platforms.
Again,
this
is
not
a
seek
for
any
commercial
discussions.
It's
a
sig
for
discussions
around
Kuban
IDs
and
you
know
really
the
C&C
of
projects
as
I
mentioned,
and
then
you
interact
directly
with
the
team
right.

as
six
structure
is
concerned,
the

other
weeks,
so
it's
bi-weekly
meetings,
every
other
Wednesday
we
meet
2:00
p.m.

zoom

calls.

educational
opportunity,

basically
from
IKS
or
ICP.
You
know
talking
about
some
of
the
things
around
communities
that
the
new
features
gets
added.

you
started
this
group,
we
started
with
sort
of
providing
an
overview
strategy
of
IBM
cloud,
and
then
you
know,
as
we
progressed,
you
know,
topics
like
how
do
you
update
cuban
is
right.
What's
the
strategy
from
the
IBM
cloud
perspective
Malta's
on
supports
when
it
was
added,
we
have
a
good
discussion
there
from
IBM
cloud,
private
side,
again
overviews
and
demos,
and
then
you
know
things
like
scalably
testing
right.
We
have
folks
regularly
participate
in
the
upstream.
Cuban
is
scalability
sake
ICP.

You
know,
sometime
back
few
months
back,
it's
already
been
certified
to
1,000
nodes
and
its
work
in
progress.
Right
now
certifying
up
to
20
foundry
nodes.
We
actually
gave
a
separate
presentation
on
that
side
different
conference,
and
then
we
do
discussions
around
the
community
work
again.
It's
not
like
all
the
work
IBM
does
there
in
IBM
developers
and
contributors,
but
it's
more
from
the
cloud
team's
perspective.

work
closely
with
Tybee
with
the
cig
cloud
provider
right,
that's
a
new
secret
again
this
year
with
the
goal
to
have
all
the
different
601,
umbrellas
and
sub
projects.
We
work
with
them.
Some
of
the
things
are
already
clogged
for
the
sick,
smooth
there.
A
lot
of
other
are
in
the
progress.
We
are
one
of
them,
but
our
goal
is
to
move
as
in
sub
project
and
as
part
of
that
we
are
in
process
or
more
like
an
investigation
phase
right
now
to
open
source
our
cloud
provider.

clear
the
cloud
for
the
repo
there
was
no
such
thing,
as
you
know,
have
a
cig
repo
out
there,
so
it
was
created
internally
now
in
order
to
open-source
you
know,
we
were
looking
at
the
best
things.
Our
practice
is
there
to
refactor
the
code
end
and
make
it
open
source.
So
Richard
is
actually
investigating
that
part
and,
like
I
said
you
know,
sig
maintainer,
maintenance,
work
like
during
the
Charter
and
other
things
as
we
need
to
do
it,
and
then
we
also
talked
about
the
contributions.

they
stopped
accepting
new
cloud
providers
in
that
code
base.

transition
now

to
move
everybody
out

tree

working
towards

the
community

that
path
with
our
cloud
provider.

bit
about
IBM
cloud
private
here,
so
you
know
it's
the
public
side.
The
public
cloud
may
not
be
always
there
for
you,
like
your
your
choice,
you
know
there
are
certainly
use
cases.
I
would
like
to
mention
here.
There
are
many
you
know
where
you
would
like
to
have.
Rather
a
private
cloud
versus
public
cloud
right.
So,
as
we
know,
you
know,
over
80%
of
enterprises
are
not
yet
moved
to
the
cloud
and
you
know
they're.

It's
big
transition
going
on
there
with
the
cloud
with
this
new
technology
right,
so
you
may
want
to
start
with
the
cloud
you
may
not
get
into
the
cloud,
but
you
know
you
don't
want
a
jump
right
right
away
into
the
public
side
and
you
would
like
to
have
your
own
cloud,
which
is
you
know
controlled
by
you
right.
So
that's
one
you
chase!
Second,
is,
you
know
think
about
security,
and
compliance
is
right.
The
government
regulations
a
lot
of
countries.
You
know
they
don't
want
a
lot
of
regions.
A
They
want
to
keep
the
data
right
there
they
remove
from.
You
know
hosted
somewhere
else
right
and
then,
as
an
user
as
an
customer,
you
may
want
to
customize
your
infrastructure.
The
way
you
want
it
and
then
you
know
we
are
a
big
believer
into
the
hybrid
cloud
model.
Where
you
know
we,
you
know
believe
that
the
were
close.
As
you
know,
enterprises
move
cloud
will
be
shared
between
public.
You
know
entire
clouds
rights
that
come
cloud
comes
picture
and
then
sometime,
it
may
be
simply
a
preference
for
you
to
have
your
own
cloud
cloud.

that's
where
IBM
cloud
prior
comes
picture.
It's
an
application
platform
for
developing
and
managing
on-prem
applications,
and
you

continued
rise
application.

talking
about
cloud
made
you
here.
The
biggest
thing
you
get.
There
is
no
complex
setup
as
an
user.
Why
did
it
is
pre-configured
with
kubernetes,
with
IBM
it'll
work
with
containerized
images
of
obvious
real
liberty,
and
you
know
many
more
and
it
comes
with
the
management
capabilities.
Think
about
logging
monitoring
grind,
it's
all
set
up
for
you
and
then
lot
of
other
services
for
it
by
IBM.

here
I
would
like
to
provide
this

You

The
IBM
cloud
part
is
built
on
open
source
and
open
standards
right.
So
it's
it's!
It's
build
on
kubernetes.
It
uses
the
core
engine
for
your
chakra
images,
your
applications
we
use
helm
heavily,
so
there
are
several
hand
charts
out
there
on
github
IBM
repo
in
ready
to
deploy
and
for
infrastructure
for
provisioning.
It
uses
a
project
open
its
another
open
source
project
of
terraform.

is
indicated
by
Asha
code
here
you
get
in
a
better
idea
about
when
I
mentioned
earlier,
that
it's
your
workloads,
your
infrastructure,
right.
It's
the
way
you
customize
it
right
now
with
IBM
cloud
private
you
can
run.
The
Cuban
is
master
on
x86
on
power
Linux,
and
then
you
can
basically
mix
and
match
your
master
and
worker
notes
right.
So
worker
nodes
can
be
run
on
the
Linux
side.

So
there
is
a
separate
proxy
node
there's
a
separate
again
more
than
one
management
know,
depending
on
your
need
for
for
logging
monitoring
kind
of
things
where
you
know
we
use
Prometheus
from
waiting,
for
example,
or
lq
stack
for
logging
and
then
on
top
there,
your
worker
nodes,
the
Kuban,
is
working
with
strands
and
then
the
next
layer
is
IBM
provided
services
out
there
and
on
top
of
there,
it's
your
application
workload
right.
So
that's
that
that's
the
sort
of
the
bigger
picture
there,
the
way
the
architecture
is
there.

If
you
want
to
get
started
with
type
in
cloud
private,
it's
very
easy.
There
is
a
community
edition
out
there.
It's
a
free,
it's
a
single
node
cluster.
You
can
actually
run
on
your
laptop
and
you
can
play
around
it
if
you
are
an
enterprise
developers.
There's
a
second
edition
called
cloud
native.
You
get
on
some
things
there,
as
mention
here
and
then
at
enterprise
level.
You
can
get
ICP
handle
price
where
you
get
additional
software,
you
know
on
top
of
the
cloud
native
alright.

So,
as
I
mentioned
earlier,
you
know
from
the
cloud
teens
we
are
contributing
back
to
the
community.
We
have
people
focused
on
they're,
regularly
attending
things,
so
the
couple
charts
here
the
few
months
old,
but
showing
that
overall
IBM
contributions
which
we're
not
talking
right
here
or
you
know
this
tia,
where
we
are,
what
top
two
three
contributors
there,
but
from
the
IBM
cloud,
private
teams
and
we
we
regularly
attend
and
contribute
to
the
cumulus
Federation
me
to
project
I,
don't
know
if
you're
aware
of
it,
but
it's
working
progress
Federation!

we're
talking
about
multi
cluster
right,
environment
you're,
not
just
restricting
yourself
one
cluster.
You
have
multiple
clusters
and
how
do
you
do
things
like
resource
utilization
with
multiple
cluster
right?
You
are
scheduling
something
in
one
cluster
down
the
road.
You
wanna
share
some
of
the
resources
you
know
which
is
in
there
in
a
different
cluster.
So
that's
what
the
multi
our
cluster
work
is
under
progress
under
Federation,
as
you
can
see,
I
beam
is
like
number
three
there.

you

from
a
contribution
side,
we
have
three
developers
regularly
attend
there
and
you
know
are
contributing
there.
We
have,
you
know
folks
contributing
helm,
as
I
said
we
use
helm
heavily
and
then
there's
a
smaller
project
or
cluster
registry.
It's
basically
again
in
context
of
the
multi
cluster
Cuban
Aires,
where
the
registry
will
keep
the
catalog
of
the
molecular
ApS
or
easy
management.

And
it's
you
know
the
Federation
work,
a
cloud
registry,
it's
all
utilized
but
I'd
be
a
multi
cloud
manager.
I
know,
as
I
mentioned
earlier,
that
we
believe
that
the
purpose
would
be
across.
You
know
different
clouds
right,
and
that
includes
different
cloud
from
different
cloud
providers.
How
do
you
manage
that?
That's
what
the
molecular
manager
comes
in
picture,
what
we're
not
going
into
diddle
there
so
I
would
like
to
keep
a
few
mates
for
any

IBM
cloud
is:
it
provides

open
platform
for
discussions
around

IDs
as
it

deployed

maintained

supported
by
IBM

community
service

private.

more
