From YouTube: June 15, 2021 Ortelius General Community Meeting
Description
The discussion begins around forming a proper Ortelius Governing board, with the goal of holding elections by early September.
A
A
A
A
A
Okay,
I
think
I
have
everybody
signed
in
actually
so
today
there
is
the
topic
that
we
really
need
to
cover
is
a
governing
board.
We
have
gotten
to
a
point
that
we
need
to
put
together
an
official
governance
board.
A
Garema
has
reached
out
to
oleg
from
the
jenkins
community
and
he
has
shared
with
her
all
of
the
governance
doc,
the
docs
and
how
they
structure
it
so
in,
in
summary,
just
to
explain
how
they
how
it
works
is
they
have
a,
I
think,
a
annual
election,
where
the
general
members
run
for
a
position
on
the
governance
board.
I
don't
know
how
many
seats
there
are
and
then
any
decisions
like
the
decisions
that
we
were
making
around
gsoc
any
decisions
that
the
linux
foundation
is
asking
for
us
to
respond
to.
A
Okay,
so
there's
the
docs
of
how
the
jenkins
governance
works.
It
also
has
the
directions
for
the
the
the
jenkins
elections.
A
A
Need
for
a
governance
board,
not
every
open
source
community
has
one,
but
I
have
what
we've
seen
for
so,
for
example,
the
governance
board
could
decide
if
they
want
to
have
somebody
who's,
a
product
manager
or
a
release
manager.
A
So
we
could
then
start
defining
roles
within
the
that
the
governance
board
wants
to
put
out
now.
The
governance
board
could
be
structured
and
have
internal
elections
and
say
the
governance
board
is
going
to
elect
a
president
they're
going
to
elect
a
product
manager
they're
going
to
elect
from
within
the
governance
board.
I
don't
know
how
these
I
haven't
read
these
docs
yet
or
how
they've
structured
it,
but
it
we
may
be
coming
to
a
point
that
we
do
want
to
do.
A
A
Cdcon
is
next
week
we
do
have
the
birds
of
a
feather.
I
just
want
to
remind
everybody.
If
you
can,
please
try
to
attend
the
birds
of
the
feather
for
cdcon
cd
con
next
week,
the
the
birds
of
the
feather
for
home.
Let
me
see.
C
Wednesday,
the
23rd
and
what
time
11
o'clock
pacific
time
perfect.
D
What
else
is
happening?
I
know
what.
B
Is
expected
to
see
any
expectations
that
is
there
for
the
buzzer
feather
session
on
that,
given
day.
A
You
know
it's
just
supposed
to
be
a
a
complete
you
open
kind
of
discussion
about
what
the
community's
been
up
to.
I
believe
that
what
I'm
going
to
have
steve
do
is
cover
the
the
work
that
the
release
that
he's
trying
to
get
out
for
august
around
the
service
catalog.
A
A
B
Right,
what
I'll
do
is
I'll,
we'll
have
a
catch
up
this
friday,
so
we'll
decide
what
we
can
bring.
Okay,
that
sounds
great.
A
B
A
All
right
another
than
those
things,
I
think
that
right
now
for
us
as
a
community,
really
starting
to
think
about
how
we
want
to
put
the
governance
board
together
and
I'm
thinking
that
we're
you
know
everybody's
pretty
much
in
cruise
mode
right
now,
at
least
in
north
america,
because
it's
summer,
but
I
think
we
should
be
thinking
about
putting
this
governance
board
together
and
make
it
official
and
have
elections
in
september.
A
A
So
I
know
these
are
the
boring
parts
of
running
an
open
source
community,
but
I
think
once
we
have
it
done
it
it
will.
It
will
make
everybody
it'll
create
more
ownership
and
the
goal
is
to
have
steve
and
I
doing
less
and
you
guys
doing
more
so
governance
board.
Will
it
will
help
create
that
that
process.
B
A
Well,
I'm
guessing
that
the
people
that
are
on
this
call
right
now
are
the
ones
that
we
would
would
nominate
for
the
governor's
board.
So
that's
why
I
am
bringing
it
up
now
and
making
sure
that
you
guys
see
what
the
how
the
governance
works
and
and
gets
the
chance
to
read
through
this.
A
I
think
that
gurima
was
going
to
create
a
shared
doc.
Let
me
see
if
she
did
that
yet.
A
A
A
Weird,
oh:
there
we
go
yeah.
If
we
haven't
it's,
not
she
hasn't
gotten
it
out
there
yet,
but
we
will
get
a
share.
She
is
going
to
put
a
shared
dock
together,
based
on
the
docs
that
I
just
sent
you
and
she's
going
to
create
it,
make
it
our
own,
and
then
we
can
start
working
how
we
want
to
structure
it
from
there.
A
It's
not
very
how
they
put
it
together
is
not
very
com.
I
mean
it's
weird
that
they
can
run.
I
mean
it
says:
things
like
kk
is
to
be
on
it
permanently
until
he
decides
to
leave
it
just
has
really
basic
information
about
it.
So
maybe
that's
maybe
that's
all
we
need,
but
it
should
be
clear
how
the
organization
is
run
within
the
community
for.
A
Everybody
and
then
siddharth,
you
want
to
give
any
update
on
the
ambassadors
and
maybe
the
work
on
the
podcast.
A
B
B
So
this
is
one
thing:
if
you're
interested
in
contributing
to
this
podcast
as
a
speaker
as
a
host,
whatever
role
you,
you
know,
wish
to
prefer
work
on,
please
reach
out
to
me.
We
are
in
month
of
june,
so
probably
one
podcast,
at
least
you
know,
let's
target,
let's
say
anytime
in
the
last
week
of
june,
to
be
recorded.
If
you
have
any
ideas
on
which
you
can
talk
about
just
share
across
and
then
let's
connect.
A
A
That
the
topics
are
our
work
and
should
I
go
ahead
and
update
the
form?
Yes,
yes,
okay,.
D
C
B
Correct
the
other
thing
that
was
looking
forward
is
that
he
has
people
interested
in
this
order
list
coming
from
different
regions
of
india.
B
One
thing
we
got
from
new
delhi,
chennai,
chandigarh,
bangalore,
jaipur
and
then
yes,
somewhere
from
germany
also,
what
is
the
count
is
immaterial
is
that
is,
the
reach
of
ordinance
is
going
very
majorly
in
india.
That
is
what
we
can
see
and
somewhere
in
italy
and
germany
region
system.
B
This
is
another
thing.
Third
thing
was:
if
you
have
any
ideas
to
contribute,
please
create
these
cards
on
the
trello
boards.
We
are
very
much
following
what
is
happening
on
friday.
It's
just
that
if
you're
contributing
to
it,
please
use
this
trello
for
any
ideas
that
you
want
to
question
and
contribute
to
them,
and
it
could
be
just
anything.
You
know,
for
example,
the
demo
that
tracy's
showing
you
about
the
governance
board.
A
Thank
you,
gracie
we're
all
very
proud
of
you.
We
like
we
like
seeing
you
know
people
get
these
new
opportunities
and
that's
the
whole
point
of
doing
these.
You
know
the
open
source
community.
B
A
A
So
if
there's
a
nothing
else,
I
say
we
will
give
you
guys
10
minutes
back
to
your
day
and
do
take
the
time
to
look
at
these.
These
governance
docs-
and
this
is
something
we
have
to
do
in
the
from
a
community
perspective,
so
it
won't
be
handled
in
the
outreach
or
the
the
ambassador
program
or
the
architecture
group.
A
It
has
to
be
something
that
comes
out
of
the
community.
So
that's
what
the
focus
of
this
these
talks
will
be
over
the
next
four
meetings
that
we
have,
and
that
will
take
us
right
to
the
point
that
we
need
to
get
nominations
and
start
the
elections
for
september.
