From YouTube: Ortelius Outreach Working Group - December 7th, 2020
Description
Ortelius reward system, website, an onboarding ramp for new members are a few of the topics from this Ortelius Outreach group of masters minds.
B
All
right,
so
this
is
the
december
7
2020
outreach
committee
meeting
agenda
items
include
the
updates
to
the
website
press
releases
going
out
tomorrow
for
our
intro,
our
acceptance
into
the
cdf,
and
we
need
to
work
on
a
reward
system
as
well
as
a
few
others,
and
I'm
sorry,
I'm
going
to
cut
this
recording
short,
but
we
just
spent
the
last
10
minutes
trying
to
figure
out
how
to
fix
zoom.
So
it
would
record
so
we're
going
to
continue
on.
With
this
conversation.
B
So
yes,
I
need
to,
we
do
need
to
you
know,
and
that's
a
really
good
point,
because
I
think
that
everything
we
do.
I
should
have
included
tickets
for
updating
the.
I
should
have
created
a
github
issue
for
everything
I
did
around
updating
the
the
website,
instead
of
just
going
ahead
and
doing
it.
So
I
I'll
we'll
get
a
better
habit
of
opening
up
tickets
because
I
think
that
is
important.
B
C
A
Better
yeah,
don't
worry
about
that,
so
I
have
so
anything
related
to
product
management.
I
have
tickets
tatyana
and
I
actually
tag
on
it
like
I
assign-
and
we
have
you
know
the
product
management
tag
on
it.
We
can
also
do
an
outreach
tag
like
the
website
update
and
all
could
be.
You
know
an
outreach
tag
that
we
just
need
to
do
it
for
better
outreach.
C
C
D
B
Yeah,
by
the
way
we
marky
walked
through
those
the
work
on
the
discord
channel
and
he
thought
it
was
spot
on.
He
did
say
that
what
we
needed
was
a
developer
guide,
so
siddharth
is
going
to
work
and
siddharth
is
here,
so
don't
speak
for
him,
but
he
is
volunteered
to
start
working
on
that
developer's
guide.
D
B
D
So
the
widget
board
that
steve
had
previously
added
so
the
like
this
is
the
server
stat
spot
so
like
on
the
left
top
left,
you
can
see
like
the
all
stats.
Like
total
members,
the
members
and
the
bots
like
as
a
community
grows
like
you,
don't
have
to
go
scroll
right
side
and
see
like
how
many
are
real
people.
How
many
are
bots
in
that
case
that
helps
us.
D
A
D
Like
we
like,
we
can
have
custom
commands
created
so,
like
suppose,
on
the
the
bottom
channel,
you
can
find
this
command
so
that
we
have
enabled
right
now
so
like
we
can
search
for
google
folders,
you
can
search
for
google
user
folder
and
also
as
like.
We
can
also
have
some
custom
keywords,
like
suppose,
someone
searches
for
like
request
in
the
like
in
the
chat
message,
so
the
board
can
automatically
play
so
you
can
set
up
the
bot
as
well
and
also
we
have
added
a
welcome
message
so
like
when
someone
joins.
D
D
Then
we
have
had
a
pin
code
so
like
so
currently
we
have
a
youtube
channel
that
we
like
put
our
like
videos
up
to
so
like
pink
water,
basically
tests
that
whenever
we
post
a
new
video
it
likes
sends
a
notification
out
in
the
like
in
the
general
channel,
like
this
videos
up
along
with
the
link
and
as
long
as
the
title
that
it
was
uploaded
and
similar
like
when
we
are
starting
a
live
stream
or
some
preview
kind
of
thing.
D
So
like
it
was
a
reminder
as
well
as
when
they
go
live,
it
will
definitely
notify
as
well.
So
there's
also
like
a
lot
of
things
that
we
can
do
like
we
have
twitter
like
we
can
deal
with
twitter.
We
can
integrate
with
a
twitch.
So
like
facebook
pages,
so
like
it's
the
possibilities
endless
so
that's
for
spin
chord,
then
nano
and
yak
pd
so
like
so
yak
pd
helped
me
to
create
this
start
here
section
so
like
so
like
steve,
like
had
an
idea
like
we
can
like.
D
Whenever
someone
joins
that
discord,
they
only
will
see
this
particular
three
channels,
like
the
welcome
channel
like
the
welcome
introduction,
and
also
we
have
a
code
of
conduct
so
until
unless
that
guy
accepts
the
code
of
conduct,
he
will
not
be
able
to
like
access
our
complete
server.
You
cannot
see
any
anything
else,
so
the
only
three
things
that
he
sees
when
he
joins.
He
or
she
thinks
series
is
the
welcome
the
code
open
and
the
bot
comments
only
so
like
steve
had
you
to
like
integrate
that
with
the
discord
as
well.
D
D
B
D
So,
like
there's
endless
possibility
that
what
we
can
do
with
this,
like
listening
mentioned,
like
we
had,
we
had
done
this
code
of
content
like
acceptance.
We
can
also
like,
like
the
autoresponder,
then
like
as
a
community,
goes.
We
can
also.
We
also
have
auto
moderation
so
like
when
we
can
block
particular
set
of
words
and
if
they
are
getting
repeated,
we
can
also
kick
or
ban
that
user.
So
that's
also
a
possibility
that
we
have
down
the
line.
C
Widget
that
we
have
on
our
deploy
hub
site,
where
you
can
ask
it
questions
yep,
so
that
capability
is
available
through
these
bots
as
well.
We
just
have
to
put
the
keywords
behind
it:
yep
and
where
we
want
to
direct
the
people,
but
that
is
available.
We
chrome
did
some
basic
stuff
around
that,
but
just
to
see
what
capabilities
it
has,
but
we
can
definitely
expand,
expand
that
out
down
the
road.
B
Nice
and
then
can
we
integrate
a
link
to
the
developer's
guide
once
we
have
that
done
or
how
does
that?
How
would
it
be.
D
Yeah
custom
command
or
we
can
have
a
read-only
channel
right
on
the
on
the
start.
Here
section
we
can
have
guides,
we
can
get
a
particular
category
and
we
can
add
our
guides
there,
like
a
read-only
channel
so
like
we
can.
So,
though,
only
the
admins
can
like
edit
that,
while
other
guys
they
can
see-
and
they
can
click
on
that
link
so
like
we
can
have
that
as
well.
B
Nice,
cool,
okay,
perfect,
so
siddhartha
and
I
will
get
working
on
that.
That
document
for
the
developer's
guide,
then.
D
D
Like
steve-
and
I
had
like
a
brief
talk
about
so
we
wanted
to
discuss
in
this
forum
so
like
right
now,
this
particular
bot
that
music
has
a
kind
of
like
a
gamification
of
like
who
guys,
which
guys
are
chatting
more,
and
so
it
creates
a
kind
of
a
leaderboard
that
you
can
see.
D
Yeah
so
like
steve,
like
I
had
some
skeptical
like,
should
we
include
that
or
not
because
so,
like
I
don't
know
like,
we
don't
want
to
like
create
a
game.
We
want
to
create
gamification
but
like
a
level
balance
level
field
for
everyone,
so
like
some
guys
are
not
that
active,
but
some
are
guys.
Are
there
so
like?
We
don't
want
to
like
highlight
that
part
so
steve
like
that
was
my
point,
so
I
want
to
discuss
like
what
do
you
guys
think.
C
Yeah,
so
this
is
where
it
the
the
gamification
can
get
skewed,
because
it's
you
know
if
you
like.
You
said:
if
you
have
an
offline
activity
where
you're
doing
like
meetings
or
dealing
with
the
website
or
something
like
that,
you're,
probably
not
in
you,
know,
you're
kind
of
doing
it
on
your
own
you're.
Not
it's
not
very
collaborative
you're,
not
gonna,
be
throwing
a
lot
of
messages
out
onto
the
channel,
so
your
your
level
is
going
to
be
lower
than
somebody
they
like
croms
who's
been
testing.
C
This,
who
has
a
the
higher
message
count
so
something
that
we
just
had
to
keep
in
the
back
of
our
mind
of
how
we
should
handle.
C
B
D
B
B
So,
for
example,
if
we
build
out
the
discourse
a
forum
and
people
are
posting,
just
you
know
just
technical
information
that
will
have
its
own
kind.
You
know
creating
threads
that
may
have
its
own
kind
of
leaderboard.
So
I
think
what
we'll
have
to
do
is
create
a
combination
of
all
of
these
to
get
an
idea
of
you
know
if
you're
in
this
persona
of
the
develop
of
the
open
source,
you're
doing
you're
working
as
a
support
person.
This
is
where
you're
going
to
get
your
badges
from.
B
And
I'll
try
to
get
some
time
this
my
last
week
was
really
crazy.
Busy
I'm
gonna
get
try
to
get
some
more
time
to
spend
on
some
of
this
stuff
and
work
with
karim
on
understanding
what
ladders
we
need
to
have
and
then
from
there
the
the
reward
system,
the
badges
I'm
going
to
see
if
we
can't
get
using
what
was
that
other
one?
It
was
discourse,
the
other
one
was
that
did
the
badges
badges.I
badges.os.
C
A
A
B
C
Oh
yeah,
but
we
may
be
able
to
get
the
cdf
to
pay
for
it,
pay
for
it.
So
if
it's
a
reasonable
amount.
C
It
was
interesting,
I
did
it
from
the
hackathon
they
did
give
badges
out,
but
they
ended
up
redirecting
you
to
a
like
a
a
forum
page
where
you
your,
where
your
badge
shows
up.
So
it
was
weird,
like
you
had
to
sign
up
for
this
other,
like
dev.t.o
website,
to
claim
your
badge
and
then
you're
part
of
that
community
now
as
part
of
getting
trying
to
claim
the
badge
for
hacktoberfest.
C
D
So
like
as
I
liked
loading
with
my
github
account,
so
I
couldn't
see
that
for
the
issues
we
can
like
create
and
we
can,
we
can
reward
the
contributor
like
when
the
request
is
full
request,
is
sexual
inverse
in
that
case,
like
automatic
contact
executes,
and
we
can
lag
like
would
you
say,
reward
the
contributor
for
his
work.
D
C
The
one
I've
seen
as
a
cryptocurrency,
it's
typically
the
the
easier
one,
because
it's
it's
country
neutral.
D
C
Right
yeah,
it
was
the
where
we've
seen
that
happen
before.
Is
you
end
up
putting
a
a
contribute
like
a
contribute
button
where
people
can
contribute
money
and
they
contribute
and
that's
how
we
get
to
get
more
funds
to
run.
It
is
by
getting
end
users
to
contribute
a
few
dollars
here
and
there.
So
it's
a
it's
like
a
kind
of
like
a
two-person
pro
two-step
process,
one
we
gotta
get
money
and
the
other
one.
We
gotta
gotta
award
that
money.
D
C
As
part
of
the
the
the
discord
code
of
conduct,
we
need
to
validate
that
against
our.
C
Our
cla,
so
the
contributor
license
agreement
and
one
of
the
things
is
the
linux
foundation,
runs
a
a
program
called
easy.
Cla,
basically
uses
docusign.
In
the
background
to
manage
everybody's
agreements.
C
C
But
the
one
thing
I
wasn't
sure
on
that
front
was
when
we
should
ask
people
to
sign
a
cla,
because
one
of
the
tricky
parts
is
you
don't
want
to
ask
them
for
a
cla
right
off
the
bat.
You
know,
because
they're
not
quite
sure
whether
they
what
participation
that
they
want
to.
C
C
You
know
one
of
the
things
I
thought
about
was
we
leave
it
basically
open
until
somebody
needs
to
go
and
do
a
commit
again.
You
know
like
a
coding
change,
because
they're
actually
doing
some
coding
change
and
there's
a
the
github
repo.
I
think
at
that
point
we'll
definitely
need
the
cla
in
place,
but
something
like
giving
a
person
access
to
the
shared
google
docs
like
these,
these
working
group
meetings.
I
personally
feel
that
we
can
skip
the
cla
for
for
these.
At
this
level,.
C
So,
just
just
a
heads
up,
that's
on
the
horizon
that
we
may
need
to
dive
in
deeper.
On
that
that
whole
process
is
one
of
the
things
I'm
worried
about
is
scaring
people
off
when
we
start
asking
them
to
start
signing
things.
You
know
right
away.
B
C
The
the
code
of
conduct
is,
you
know,
basically
behave
while
you,
you
know,
you
know,
you're
going
to
be
treated
well
and
just
behave.
Well,
that's
that
one
most
people
can
sign
without
having
to
you
know
go
go,
get
an
attorney
involved,
but
when
you
get
into
the
cla
there
they
can
be
a
little
more.
C
B
B
C
C
Okay,
well,
thank
you.
Everybody
we'll
see
you
tomorrow
morning.
