A
A
I?
Don't
know,
I,
don't
know
indeed
well.
Before
moving
on
to
the
substantive
part
of
our
agenda,
we
of
course
have
to
deal
with
our
attendance
and
apologies.
I've
received
an
apology
from
councilor
Gates
who's
unable
to
attend
today,
she's,
of
course
acting
mayor,
and
also
think,
it's
appropriate
to
note
the
apology
of
counselor
Cameron
Caldwell,
something
like
to
move
that
those
policies
policies
there.
We
go
councilor
Castro
thanks
for
saving
me
from
that
one
who's,
foreign.
A
It's
an
awesome
responsibility.
Isn't
it
all
right
I'll
put
that
to
avoid
all
those
in
favor
all
those
against
that
is
carried?
Thank
you
councils.
We
have
three
start
items,
I,
suspect
item.
7.1
will
be
unsubbed
for
the
purposes
of
asking
a
few
questions.
Did
anyone
have
an
appetite
to
unstar
either
item
5.1
or
6.1.
A
A
Wonderful
all
right,
so
we've
got
a
motion
there,
a
foot,
any
speakers
against
no
council
Neil
did
you
want
to
close
all
right.
Councilors
I'll
put
that
to
a
vote,
all
those
in
favor,
all
those
against
that
is
carried
councilor
young.
Obviously,
7.1
is
a
matter
very
close
to
your
heart.
I
understand
you
a
few
questions.
A
Your
questions
from
our
early
conversation
won't
prompt
us
to
go
into
closed
counselors.
Did
you
have
any
questions
of
your
own
that
might
take
us
there?
No
well,
then
I
propose
we
remain
in
open
director.
Please
keep
an
ear
out
and
if
we
are
straying
to
confidential
information,
please
tap
me
on
the
shoulder
counselor
young
questions.
B
Oh
thanks
good
morning,
I
appreciate
the
opportunity
to
be
here
and
to
ask
some
questions.
I've
had
a
good
look
good,
look
at
the
report
and
I'll
just
comment
before,
starting
that
there
was
a
midi
article
about
this
on
channel
7
the
other
day
the
the
journalists
approached
me
about
the
10-year
plan,
so
really
we're
discussing
the
previous
agenda
item,
which
was
dealt
with
last
year.
Not
the
content
of
this
report,
which
I
think
has
been
written
in
a
very
good
and
positive
tone.
B
I
think
it
really
reflects
upon
the
Great
work,
that's
being
achieved
through
that
coordination
of
efforts
through
from
Council
and
the
country
paradise
Association
I
did
have
a
couple
of
questions
and
they
relate
to
the
well.
If
you
don't
mind
me
posing
those
thanks.
So
in
the
previous
report
we
had
a
mention
of
a
steering
committee
or
a
Steering
group
that
will
take
effect.
Can
we
get
a
little
bit
of
news
about
that?
Please.
C
Mr
chair
thanks
very
much
for
your
question:
councilor
Yanks
we're
just
in
the
final
stages
of
finalizing
the
terms
of
reference
for
that,
and
then
we
will
go
out
to
your
office
and
get
your
support
of
that
and
then
to
the
ncpa
and
the
other
members
and
invite
nominations
for
Representatives
on
that
on
that
committee,
which
will
also
be
involve
Council
staff.
So
we
should
look
to
have
that
in
place
in
the
in
the
coming.
You
know
month
or
two
great.
B
The
other
question
was
about
the
flood
study
as
you'll
know.
Tony
through
your
chair,
Tony,
and
the
staff
will
know
that
country
paradise.
Parklands
is
very
vulnerable
to
flooding
and
we've
had
water
come
through.
The
reception
building
which
is
listed
for
some
considerable
work
and
the
oval
shed,
which
is
due
for
replacement,
will
also
be
afflicted
by
flooding,
so
I'm
a
bit
concerned
about
that.
Getting
that
hydraulic
work
done
so
we
know
the
best
ways
to
avoid
future
damage.
Is
that.
C
Sure
E3,
you
can
check
counselor
young,
the
the
most
recent
flood
modeling
was
done
as
a
part
of
the
new
playground
that
went
in
in
2020,
so
we're
currently
doing
a
revised
version
of
that,
and
that
will,
as
you
say,
that,
will
inform
the
works
for
the
reception
building
and
the
oval
shed
the
time
frame
on
that
Jody
for
that
flood.
Modeling
yeah.
D
B
Okay,
if
the
committee
would
like
to
provide
some
input
to
that,
is
that
feasible
through
yourself.
D
B
And
the
third
question
in
my
final
really
is
about
staff.
Resourcing
I
know
that
resourcing
is
a
big
problem
for
us
across
the
organization,
but
there's
been
some
challenges
and
I
think
that's
slowed
down
the
pace
of
progress
that
people
would
like
to
see
and
to
me
it's
understandable,
but
I,
wonder
if
you
might
be
able
to
address
that.
Please,
yes,.
D
A
Thank
you
very
much.
Council
young.
Are
you
happy
to
move
the
item
fair
enough,
but
would
you
be
happy
to.
A
B
I
think
scrutin
in
a
very
positive
time
and
be
the
aspirations
of
the
community
and
the
committee,
and
it's
identified
with
Clarity
what
Our
intention
is
for
the
next
decade
and
and
the
shorter
term
time
frame.
B
Of
course,
this
picks
up
on
the
work
that
was
completed
last
year
as
a
result
of
the
strategic
planning
exercise
and
also
the
decisions
made
by
Council
in
the
budget
process
this
year,
which
preceded
this
report
and
which
have
informed
our
ability
to
and
created
our
ability
to
ensure
we
adequately
fund
the
improvements
that
are
due
to
be
made
to
the
park,
which
is
growing,
and
it's
popularity.
It's
it's
incredibly
busy
out
there
on
weekends
in
particular,
and
that's
a
great
thing
to
see
and
the
committee
that
we've
got
there.
B
B
A
Sure
you'll
take
up
that
opportunity
at
full
Council
and
the
councils.
I
just
wanted
to
add
very
briefly
to
the
debate.
This
park
has
actually
become
one
of
our
favorite
family
parks
and
I.
A
Think
it'd
be
somewhat
easy
to
regard
it
as
a
divisional
asset
but
I
think
increasingly,
it's
becoming
a
city
asset
and
I'm,
very
supportive
of
additional
Council
resources
being
brought
to
bear
on
the
management
of
the
space
so
that
we
make
the
best
and
highest
use
of
it,
but
that
that
management
is
done
hand
in
hand
with
the
community
members
that
have
actually
made
I
suppose
invested
in
that
Parkland
edits
in
the
sense
stages
and
that's
what
makes
it
so
special
and
I
think
gives
it
that
family
friendly
feel
that
people
are
yearning
for.
A
A
It's
one
of
our
best
Southern
Parks
councilor
of
Boston,
absolutely
as
our
population
continues
to
Boom
in
the
north
of
the
city,
so
the
center
of
gravity
tends
to
shift
and
suburbs
that
might
have
been
regarded
as
the
center
of
the
Gold
Coast.
In
our
finding
their
way
into
the
southern
patch,
so
fully
concede
that
point,
councilor,
oven,
Jones,
any
further
questions,
no
I'll
put
that
to
a
vote,
all
those
in
favor,
all
those
against
that's
carried
councilors.
That
brings
us
to
the
end
of
the
formal
agenda.
A
Now,
obviously,
we've
had
a
number
of
reports
into
this
issue,
but
there
will
be
a
meeting
of
State
ministers
and
the
responsible
Federal
Minister
on
Thursday
and
following
a
meeting
that
our
acting
mayor
had
with
the
state,
Minister
I
think
it's
very
important
that
we
take
the
further
step
of
calling
for
a
report
to
be
brought
forward
so
that
City
officers
have
the
time
to
prepare
a
position
that
we
might
take.
Should
that
meeting
of
ministers
fail
to
meet
the
challenge
that
we're
all
experiencing
here
on
the
Gold
Coast.
A
So
it's
not
going
to
be
a
report
that
is
War
and
Peace.
We're
not
going
to
be
putting
a
huge
burden
on
city
offices,
but
I
think
we
do
need
to
clarify
our
current
position
and
our
desired
response
from
the
state
government
in
some
form
of
public
document,
so
that
we
can
continue
to
bring
to
bear
pressure
on
both
the
statement
feds
to
to
meet
that
challenge.
So
does
anyone
have
an
objection
to
that
or
some
questions?
A
A
E
Thank
you
chair,
as
you
know,
we're.
This
is
something
that
we're
looking
at
already
I.
Think
you've
made
this
broad
enough
for
us
to
capture
the
relevant
aspects.
What
we
will
do,
however,
is
provide
some
recommendations
that
focus
on
the
city,
particularly-
and
this
will
become
more
apparent
in
the
report
when
you
understand
the
difference
between
the
by
security
zones,
which
impact
the
middle
of
the
city,
it's
a
different
approach
adopted
within
the
biosecurity
zone
and
that
taken
by
the
state
outside
of
that
zone.
E
A
I
think
what's
changed.
Councilors
is
that
since
we've
considered
our
last
report,
the
Queensland
audit
office
have
released
quite
a
damning
assessment
of
the
state's
response,
which
hopefully
will
trigger
a
conversation
amongst
ministers
at
a
state
level
around
where
they're
at
and
where
they
need
to
go.
But
we
can't
take
them
on
face
value,
and
it's
really
important
that
we
use
the
information
that
the
qao
has
uncovered
to
firm
up
where
we
need
our
city
to
be
going.
A
E
Yesterday
we
can
bring
that
back
to
the
next
meeting.
Awesome.
A
E
What
the
qao
has
identified
is
a
number
of
options
which
are
before
the
state
to
manage
imported
red
fire
ants.
The
first
option,
which
is
eradication,
which
is
the
preferred
one
needs
a
significant
funding
boost
and
the
qao
report
identifies
a
need
for
an
additional
593
million
dollars
over
the
next
four
years.
E
A
So
anyway,
let's
put
the
blowtorch
on
them.
It's
lighter
fire
under
them,
because
they're
fire
ants
counselors
any
speakers
again.
So
further
questions.
